1m^6A-dependent biogenesis of circular RNAs in male germ cells显示文摘The majority of circular RNAs(circRNAs)spliced from coding genes contain open reading frames(ORFs)and thus,have protein coding potential.However,it remains unknown what regulates the biogenesis of these ORF-containing circRNAs,whether they are actually translated into proteins and what functions they play in specific physiological contexts.Here,we report that a large number of circRNAs are synthesized with increasing abundance when late pachytene spermatocytes develop into round and then elongating spermatids during murine spermatogenesis.For a subset of circRNAs,the back splicing appears to occur mostly at m^6A-enriched sites,which are usually located around the start and stop codons in linear mRNAs.Consequently,approximately a half of these male germ cell circRNAs contain large ORFs with m^6A-modified start codons in their junctions,features that have been recently shown to be associated with protein-coding potential.Hundreds of peptides encoded by the junction sequences of these circRNAs were detected using liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry,suggesting that these circRNAs can indeed be translated into proteins in both developing(spermatocytes and spermatids)and mature(spermatozoa)male germ cells.The present study discovered not only a novel role of m^6A in the biogenesis of coding circRNAs,but also a potential mechanism to ensure stable and long-lasting protein production in the absence of linear mRNAs,i.e.,through production of circRNAs containing large ORFs and m^6A-modified start codons in junction sequences.Chong Tang Yeming Xie Tian Yu Na Liu Zhuqing Wang Rebekah J.Woolsey Yunge Tang Xinzong Zhang Weibing Qin Ying Zhang Ge Song Weiwei Zheng Juan Wang Weitian Chen Xiongyi Wei Zhe Xie Rachel Klukovich Huili Zheng David R.Quilici Wei Yan 2020Cell Research2020,30,3:12
2Characterization and mapping of a novel mutant sms1 (senescence and male sterility 1) in rice显示文摘Plant senescence plays diverse important roles in development and environmental responses.However,the molecular basis of plant senescence is remained largely unknown.A rice spontaneous mutant with the character of early senescence and male sterility (sms) was found in the breeding line NT10-748.In order to identify the gene SMS1 and the underlying mechanism,we preliminarily analyzed physiological and biochemical phenotypes of the mutant.The mutant contained lower chlorophyll content compared with the wild type control and was severe male sterile with lower pollen viability.Genetic analysis showed that the mutant was controlled by a single recessive gene.By the map-based cloning approach,we fine-mapped SMS1 to a 67 kb region between the markers Z3-4 and Z1-1 on chromosome 8 using 1,074 F2 recessive plants derived from the cross between the mutant sms1 (japonica) × Zhenshan 97 (indica),where no known gene involved in senescence or male sterility has been identified.Therefore the SMS1 gene will be a novel gene that regulates the two developmental processes.The further cloning and functional analysis of the SMS1 gene is under way.Wenyi Yan Shenghai Ye Qingsheng Jin Longjun Zeng Yu Peng Dawei Yan Weibing Yang Donglei Yang Zuhua He Yanjun Dong Xiaoming Zhang 2010Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,1:6
3Three‑Dimensional Ordered Mesoporous Carbon Spheres Modified with Ultrafine Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles for Enhanced Microwave Absorption Properties显示文摘Currently,electromagnetic radiation and interference have a significant effect on the operation of electronic devices and human health systems.Thus,developing excellent microwave absorbers have a huge significance in the material research field.Herein,a kind of ultrafine zinc oxide(ZnO)nanoparticles(NPs)supported on three-dimensional(3D)ordered mesoporous carbon spheres(ZnO/OMCS)is prepared from silica inverse opal by using phenolic resol precursor as carbon source.The prepared lightweight ZnO/OMCS nanocomposites exhibit 3D ordered carbon sphere array and highly dispersed ultrafine ZnO NPs on the mesoporous cell walls of carbon spheres.ZnO/OMCS-30 shows microwave absorbing ability with a strong absorption(−39.3 dB at 10.4 GHz with a small thickness of 2 mm)and a broad effective absorption bandwidth(9.1 GHz).The outstanding microwave absorbing ability benefits to the well-dispersed ultrafine ZnO NPs and the 3D ordered mesoporous carbon spheres structure.This work opened up a unique way for developing lightweight and high-efficient carbon-based microwave absorbing materials.Yan Song Fuxing Yin Chengwei Zhang Weibing Guo Liying Han Ye Yuan 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,5:6

5Experimental research on the multilayer compartmental particle damper and its application methods on long-period bridge structures显示文摘Particle damping technology has attracted extensive research and engineering application interest in the field of vibration control due to its prominent advantages, including wide working frequency bands, ease of installation, longer durability and insensitivity to extreme temperatures. To introduce particle damping technology to long-period structure seismic control, a novel multilayer compartmental particle damper (MCPD) was proposed, and a 1/20 scale test model of a typical long-period self-anchored suspension bridge with a single tower was designed and fabricated. The model was subjected to a series of shaking table tests with and without the MCPD. The results showed that the seismic responses of the flexible or semi-flexible bridge towers of long-period bridges influence the seismic responses of the main beam. The MCPD can be conveniently installed on the main beam and bridge tower and can effectively reduce the longitudinal peak displacement and the root mean square acceleration of the main beam and tower. In addition, no particle accumulation was observed during the tests. A well-designed MCPD can achieve significant damping for long-period structures under seismic excitations of different intensities. 6Geochronology,geochemistry and Hf isotopic study of Early Carboniferous granodiorites in Taerqi region,central Daxing'anling and its tectonic implication显示文摘Zircon U-Pb age,whole rock geochemical and zircon Hf isotopic data are presented for Late Paleozoic granodiorites from the Taerqi region,central Daxing'anling to constrain its petrogenesis and tectonic implication.LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb age data indicates that the Late Paleozoic granodiorites were emplaced with age of333.4 ± 2.2 Ma(Early Carboniferous).Geochemically,the granodiorite samples have Si O2= 60.54%-71.40%,Na2 O = 4.04%--4.66%,K2 O = 1.65%--4.27% and Mg O = 0.96%--3.53%,belonging to medium-K to high-K calc-alkaline I-type granites.They are slightly enriched in large ion lithophile elements(e.g.Rb,Th,U and K) and light rare earth elements,and depleted in high field strength elements(e.g.Nb,Ta and Ti),with εHf(t) values of 8.0--11.8 and Hf two-stage model ages of 586-829 Ma.All these geochemical features suggest that the primary magma was derived from partial melting of Neoproterozoic to Phanerozoic newly accreted lower crust.According to the geochemical data and regional geological investigations,the Early Carboniferous granodiorites formed in an island arc setting linked to the subduction of the Paleo-Asian Oceanic Plate beneath the Xing'an Terrane.This also implies that the Xing'an and Songliao terranes have not amalgamated before the Early Carboniferous.YUN Xiuyu HE Zhonghua YAN Weibing 2015Global Geology2015,18,2:2
7Al 1060/Pure Iron Clad Materials by Vacuum Roll Bonding and Their Solderability显示文摘Al 1060/pure iron clad materials were produced by vacuum roll bonding.The effects of preheating temperature,vacuum roll reduction and initial thickness of the Al 1060 sheet on the metal interface and bonding strength were investigated.The interfacial microstructure was investigated and the mechanical properties of the joint were evaluated by shear testing.The bonding strength of the clad materials was generally enhanced by increasing the total reduction or preheating temperature,which caused the metal interface to flatten.No obvious reaction or diffusion layer was observed at the interface between Al 1060 and pure iron.The bonding strength increased with decreasing the initial thickness of the Al 1060 sheets.The Al 1060/pure iron clad materials were soldered with ZneAl alloy by using an ultrasonic-assisted method.Strong bonding of the Al1060 layer and Al 7N01 was realized without obvious Al 1060 dissolution or effect on the initial interface of Al 1060/pure iron clad materials by soldering at relatively low temperature.Qian Wang Xuesong Leng Jiuchun Yan Weibing Guo Yu Fu Tianming Luan 2013Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,10:2

9Typical diseases of a long-span concrete-filled steel tubular arch bridge and their effects on vehicle-induced dynamic response显示文摘A long-span concrete-filled steel tubular(CFST)arch bridge suffers severe vehicle-induced dynamic responses during its service life.However,few quantitative studies have been reported on the typical diseases suffered by such bridges and their effects on vehicle-induced dynamic response.Thus,a series of field tests and theoretical analyses were conducted to study the effects of typical diseases on the vehicle-induced dynamic response of a typical CFST arch bridge.The results show that a support void results in a height difference between both sides of the expansion joint,thus increasing the effect of vehicle impact on the main girder and suspenders.The impact factor of the displacement response of the main girder exceeds the design value.The variation of the suspender force is significant,and the diseases are found to have a greater effect on a shorter suspender.The theoretical analysis results also show that the support void causes an obvious longitudinal displacement of the main girder that is almost as large as the vertical displacement.The support void can also cause significant changes in the vehicle-induced acceleration response,particularly when the supports and steel box girder continue to collide with each other under the vehicle load.Jianling HOU Weibing XU Yanjiang CHEN Kaida ZHANG Hang SUN Yan LI 2020Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2020,14,4:1
