| 1 | Impact of meteorological factors on the incidence of childhood hand,foot,and mouth disease(HFMD)analyzed by DLNMs-based time series approach显示文摘Background:Hand,foot,and mouth disease(HFMD)has become an emerging infectious disease in China in the last decade.There has been evidence that meteorological factors can influence the HFMD incidence,and understanding the mechanisms can help prevent and control HFMD.Methods:HFMD incidence data and meteorological data in Minhang District,Shanghai were obtained for the period between 2009 and 2015.Distributed lag non-linear models(DLNMs)were utilized to investigate the impact of meteorological factors on HFMD incidence after adjusting for potential confounders of long time trend,weekdays and holidays.Results:There was a non-linear relationship between temperature and HFMD incidence,the RR of 5th percentile compared to the median is 0.836(95%CI:0.671-1.042)and the RR of 95th percentile is 2.225(95%CI:1.774-2.792),and the effect of temperature varied across age groups.HFMD incidence increased with increasing average relative humidity(%)(RR=1.009,95%CI:1.005-1.015)and wind speed(m/s)(RR=1.197,95%CI:1.118-1.282),and with decreasing daily rainfall(mm)(RR=0.992,95%CI:0.987-0.997)and sunshine hours(h)(RR=0.966,95%CI:0.951-0.980).Conclusions:There were significant relationships between meteorological factors and childhood HFMD incidence in Minhang District,Shanghai.This information can help local health agencies develop strategies for the control and prevention of HFMD under specific climatic conditions. | Hongchao Qi Yue Chen Dongli Xu Hualin Su Longwen Zhan Zhiyin Xu Ying Huang Qianshan He Yi Hu Henry Lynn Zhijie Zhang | 2018 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2018,7,1: | 17 |
| 2 | Transgenic rhesus monkeys carrying the human MCPH1 gene copies show human-like neoteny of brain development显示文摘Brain size and cognitive skills are the most dramatically changed traits in humans during evolution and yet the genetic mechanisms underlying these human-specific changes remain elusive.Here,we successfully generated 11 transgenic rhesus monkeys(8 first-generation and 3 second-generation)carrying human copies of MCPH1,an important gene for brain development and brain evolution.Brain-image and tissue-section analyses indicated an altered pattern of neural-cell differentiation,resulting in a delayed neuronal maturation and neural-fiber myelination of the transgenic monkeys,similar to the known evolutionary change of developmental delay(neoteny)in humans.Further brain-transcriptome and tissue-section analyses of major developmental stages showed a marked human-like expression delay of neuron differentiation and synaptic-signaling genes,providing a molecular explanation for the observed brain-developmental delay of the transgenic monkeys.More importantly,the transgenic monkeys exhibited better short-term memory and shorter reaction time compared with the wild-type controls in the delayed-matching-to-sample task.The presented data represent the first attempt to experimentally interrogate the genetic basis of human brain origin using a transgenic monkey model and it values the use of non-human primates in understanding unique human traits. | Lei Shi Xin Luo Jin Jiang Yongchang chen Cirong Liu Ting Hu Min Li Qiang Lin Yanjiao Li Jun Huang Hong Wang Yuyu Niu Yundi Shi Martin Styner Jianhong Wang Yi Lu Xuejin Sun Hualin Yu Weizhi Ji Bing Su | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,3: | 12 |

| 5 | ERF4 affects fruit ripening by acting as a JAZ interactor between ethylene and jasmonic acid hormone signaling pathways显示文摘The regulation of apple(Malus domestica)fruit texture during ripening is complex and a fundamental determinant of its commercial quality.In climacteric fruit,ripening-related processes are regulated by ethylene(ET),and jasmonate(JA)is also involved in the ethylene biosynthesis pathway,mainly through the transcription factor MYC2.However,the molecular genetic mechanism for fruit ripening processes between the JA and ET signaling pathways still needs to be elucidated.In order to explore how JA regulates apple fruit ripening through ERF4,we used’Gala’and’Ralls Janet’fruit at different developmental stages as experimental materials to determine the fruit firmness and related gene expression analysis.Meanwhile,we carried out different hormone treatments on’Gala’fruit at ripening stage.Here,we show that ERF4 is a core JA signaling hub protein JASMONATE ZIM-DOMAIN(JAZ)interactor that affects ethylene signaling pathways.During fruit development,ERF4 represses the expression of ACS1 and ACO1 by interacting with JAZ,as well as with the JA-activated transcription factor MYC2.Ripening is promoted in JAZ-suppressed apples.Thus,ERF4 acts as a molecular link between ethylene and JA hormone signals,and the natural variation of the ERF4Ethylene-responsive binding factor-associated amphiphilic repression(EAR)motif decreases repression of ethylene biosynthesis genes. | Yanan Hu Hualin Sun Zhenyun Han Shuai Wang Ting Wang Qiqi Li Ji Tian Yi Wang Xinzhong Zhang Xuefeng Xu Zhenhai Han Ting Wu | 2022 | Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,6: | 2 |

| 14 | Genomic and transcriptomic analyses of Citrus sinensis varieties provide insights into Valencia orange fruit mastication trait formation显示文摘Valencia orange(Citrus sinensis Osbeck)(VO)is a type of late-ripening sweet orange whose ripening occurs 4 to 5 months later than that of the mid-ripening common sweet orange(CO).Notably,the mastication trait of VO fruit is inferior to that of CO fruit.To date,how inferior pulp mastication trait forms in VO has not been determined.In this study,13 VO varieties and 12 CO varieties were subjected to whole-genome resequencing.A total of 2.98 million SNPs were identified from 25 varieties,and a SNP molecular marker was developed to distinguish VO and CO.Moreover,144 and 141 genes identified by selective sweep analysis were selected during VO and CO evolution,respectively.Based on gene functional enrichment analysis,most of the selected VO genes were related to the stress response and lignin biosynthesis.Simultaneously,we comparatively analyzed the transcriptome profiles of peel and pulp tissues among three VO varieties and three CO varieties,and the results demonstrated differences in lignin biosynthesis between VO and CO fruits.Furthermore,coexpression network analysis was performed to identify hub genes of lignin-related and variety-specific networks,which included CsERF74,CsNAC25,CsHSFB3,CsSPL4/13,etc.Overall,this study provides important insights into the mastication trait formation of Valencia orange fruit. | Guizhi Feng Xiu Ai Hualin Yi Wenwu Guo Juxun Wu | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 0 |
