| 1 | Investigation on microstructural, mechanical and electrochemical properties of aluminum composites reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets显示文摘In present study,the microstructure,mechanical and electrochemical properties of aluminum-graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs) composites were investigated before and after extrusion.The contents of graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs) were varied from 0.25 to 1.0 wt.%in aluminum matrix.The composites were fabricated thorough powder metallurgy method,and the experimental results revealed that Al-0.25%GNPs composite showed better mechanical properties compared with pure Al,Al-0.50%GNPs and Al-0.1.0%GNPs composites.Before extrusion,the Al-0.25%GNPs composite showed ~13.5%improvement in ultimate tensile strength(UTS) and ~50%enhancement in failure strain over monolithic matrix.On the other hand,Al-0.50%GNPs and Al-0.1.0%GNPs composites showed the tensile strength lower than monolithic matrix.No significant change was observed in 0.2%yield strength(YS) of the composites.However,the extruded materials showed different trends.The0.2%YS of composites increased with increase in GNPs filler weight fractions.Surprisingly,UTS of composites with 0.25 and 0.50%GNPs was lower than monolithic matrix.The failure strain of the baseline matrix was enhanced by ~46%with 0.25%graphene nanoplatelets.The superior mechanical properties(in terms of failure strain) of the Al-0.25%GNPs composite maybe attributed to 2-D structure,high surface area and curled nature of graphene.In addition,the corrosion resistance of pure Al and its composites reinforced with 0.5 and 1.0 wt%GNPs was also investigated.It was found that the corrosion rate increased considerably by the presence of GNPs. | Muhammad Rashad Fusheng Pan Zhengwen Yu Muhammad Asif Han Lin Rongjian Pan | 2015 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2015,25,5: | 17 |
| 2 | Cenozoic structural deformation and expression of the “Tan-Lu Fault Zone” in the West Sag of Liaohe Depression, Bohaiwan basin province, China显示文摘Based on the interpretation of 3D seismic data and structural mapping we analyzed the geometry and kinematics of the fault system and validated the expression of the'Tan-Lu Fracture Zone'in the West Sag of Liaohe Depression,Bohaiwan basin province.The Cenozoic structural deformation within the West Sag of Liaohe Depression can be divided into extensional structure system and dextral structure system.The extensional system is constituted by numerous NNE-NE trending Paleogene normal faults,where the Taian-Dawa fault(F1)is the master boundary fault(MBF)dominating the deposition during Paleogene so that the sag shows a complex half-graben with'boundary fault in the east and overlap in the west'.The dextral system is constituted by 2–3 dextral basement faults in NNE-NE trending(F2,F3,F4)and associated structure,and the time of structural action started in Oligocene and continued to Quarternary so that some associated secondary faults of the dextral system cut off the Neogene and Quaternary.Under the influence of the position and attitude of NNE-NE trending basement strike-slip faults,the central north part and the south part of the West Sag show obviously different structural features.The former appears to be a complex'graben'structure limited by the reversed strike-slip fault in the west and bounded by the inverted normal fault in the east,the latter remains the complex half-graben structure with'boundary fault in the east and overlap in the west',and the graben was mildly reconstructed by one or two normal strike-slip faults.The dextral system within the West Sag is the element of the west branch fault of the Tan-Lu Fracture Zone,which is a deep fracture zone extending along the east of the Liaodongwan Gulf.The deep fracture zone branches off into two separate faults within the Liaohe Depression.The east branch goes through from northern part of the Liaodongwan Gulf to the East Sag of Liaohe Depression and links with the Denghua-Mishan Fault near Shenyang,and the west branch passes from northern part of the Liaodongwan Gulf to the West Sag and Damintun Sag of Liaohe Depression and links with the Yilan-Yitong Fault.The principal displacement zone of the west branch of the Tan-Lu Fracture Zone cuts off the master extensional fault(F1)within the West Sag of Liaohe Depression and induces many cover faults in EW trending within the Neogene and Quaternary. | QI JiaFu LI XiaoGuang YU FuSheng YU TianCai | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,10: | 11 |

| 5 | Strengthening effect of Cu-rich phase precipitation in 18Cr9Ni3CuNbN austenitic heat-resisting steel显示文摘The Cu-containing austenitic heat-resistant steel 18Cr9Ni3CuNbN, which is being used as superheater and reheater tube material for modern ultra-super-critical (USC) power plants all over the world, has been investigated at 650 ℃ long time aging till 10 000 h. SEM, TEM and 3DAP (three dimensional atom probe) have been used to follow microstructural changes with mechanical property variations. Experimental results show that Cu-rich phase and MX precipitate in the grains as well as M 23 C 6 precipitates at grain boundaries are the main precipitation strengthening phases in this steel. Among them Cu-rich phase is the most important strengthening phase. Homogeneous distribution of very fine nano-size Cu-rich phase has been formed at very early stage of 650 ℃ aging (less than 1 h). Cu atoms gradually concentrate to Cu-rich particles and the other elements (such as Fe, Cr, Ni etc) diffuse away from Curich particles to γ-matrix with the increasing of aging time at 650 ? C. The growth rate of Cu-rich phase at 650 ℃ long time aging is very slow and the average diameters of Cu-rich phase have been determined by TEM method. Cu-rich phase keeps in about 30 nm till 650 ℃ aging for 10 000 h. It shows that nano-size Cu-rich phase precipitation strengthening can be kept for long time aging at 650 ℃ because of its excellent stability at high temperatures. | 10 | Stainless steel corrosion scale formed in reclaimed water: Characteristics, model for scale growth and metal element release显示文摘Stainless steels generally have extremely good corrosion resistance, but are still susceptible to pitting corrosion. As a result, corrosion scales can form on the surface of stainless steel after extended exposure to aggressive aqueous environments. Corrosion scales play an important role in affecting water quality. These research results showed that interior regions of stainless steel corrosion scales have a high percentage of chromium phases. We reveal the morphology, micro-structure and physicochemical characteristics of stainless steel corrosion scales. Stainless steel corrosion scale is identified as a podiform chromite deposit according to these characteristics, which is unlike deposit formed during iron corrosion. A conceptual model to explain the formation and growth of stainless steel corrosion scale is proposed based on its composition and structure. The scale growth process involves pitting corrosion on the stainless steel surface and the consecutive generation and homogeneous deposition of corrosion products, which is governed by a series of chemical and electrochemical reactions. This model shows the role of corrosion scales in the mechanism of iron and chromium release from pitting corroded stainless steel materials. The formation of corrosion scale is strongly related to water quality parameters.The presence of HClO results in higher ferric content inside the scales. | 12 | Dahuang Fuzi decoction reduces inflammation levels and alleviates intestinal mucosal barrier damage in septic rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the protective effect of Dahuang Fuzi Decoction(DHFZD),a traditional Chinese prescription,at alleviating sepsis-induced inflammation and gut barrier damage in rats.Methods:Forty clean-grade male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into three groups:normal control group(NCG,n?10),model control group(MCG,n?15)and DHFZD-treated group(DHFZDG,n?15).NCG rats were sham operated on and used as the controls,whereas MCG and DHFZDG rats were used to replicate the rat sepsis model using cecal ligation and puncture(CLP).The DHFZDG rats received DHFZD by gavage(4.5 mg/g of body weight)2 h prior to CLP and after its successful induction,while the NCG and MCG rats received equivalent amounts of sterilized water by gavage.All rat groups were starved and had free access to water.At 24 h post-experimental set up,the mortality of rats in each group was recorded,and peritoneal inflammation assessment and pathological changes related to the intestinal mucosal injury index(IMII)in the surviving rats were evaluated.D-lactic acid,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-a,interleukin(IL)-6 and IL-10 peripheral blood concentrations,along with secretory immunoglobulin A(sIgA)in the intestinal mucosa were evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.Gut microbes were detected using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.Results:DHFZD reduced sepsis-related mortality in the rats.Moreover,it alleviated peritoneal inflammation and pathological changes according to the IMII.DHFZD reduced serum procalcitonin,TNF-a and IL-6 concentrations,but not the IL-10 concentration.It also reduced serum D-lactic acid and increased sIgA concentrations in intestinal mucosa.Notably,DHFZDG restored gut microbiota diversity and regulated the decrease in Bacteroidetes induced by sepsis,compared with the MCG rats.Conclusion:DHFZDG may play a protective role in sepsis by alleviating sepsis-induced inflammation and gut barrier damage in rats. | Fusheng Liu Chunyue Yu Jin Liu Nadia Johnson Yin Zhang Zeqi Su Chenchen Sun Xia Ding | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,1: | 3 |

| 20 | Tailoring MgH_(2) for hydrogen storage through nanoengineering and catalysis显示文摘Hydrogen energy has been recognized as “Ultimate Power Source” in the 21st century, which could be the best solution to the looming energy crisis and climate degeneration in the near future. Due to its high safety, low price, abundant resources and decent hydrogen storage density, magnesium based solid-state hydrogen storage materials are becoming the leading candidate for onboard hydrogen storage. However,the high operation temperature and slow reaction rate of MgH_(2), as a result of the large formation enthalpy and high reaction activation energy,respectively, are the first and most difficult problems we need to face and overcome to realize its industrialization. Herein, a state-of-the-art review on tailoring the stable thermodynamics and sluggish kinetics of hydrogen storage in MgH_(2), particularly through nanoengnieering and catalysis is presented, aiming to provide references and solutions for its promotion and application.
