1A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif 1(ADAMTS1) expression increases in acute aortic dissection显示文摘Acute aortic dissection(AAD) is a life-threatening cardiovascular disease caused by progressive medial degeneration of the aortic wall. A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 1(ADAMTS1) is a recently identified extracellular metalloproteinase participating in the development of vascular disease, such as atherosclerosis. In the present study, we found that ADAMTS1 was significantly elevated in blood samples from AAD patients compared with patients with acute myocardial infarction and healthy volunteers. Based on these findings, we established an AAD model by infusing angiotensin II in older mice. AAD was successfully developed in aorta tissues, with an incidence of 42% after 14 days in the angiotensin II group. Macrophage and neutrophil infiltration was observed in the media of the aorta, and ADAMTS1 overexpression was found in the aorta by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. Double immunofluorescence staining showed the expression of ADAMTS1 in macrophages and neutrophils. Consistent with the upregulation of ADAMTS1 in aortic dissection tissues, versican(a proteoglycan substrate of ADAMTS1) was degraded significantly more in these tissues than in control aortic tissues. 2Super-hydrophobic and super-lipophilic functionalized graphene oxide/polyurethane sponge applied for oil/water separation显示文摘Nowadays, oil spills have led to a serious environmental crisis of the world. To deal with this problem, inspired from super-hydrophobic lotus leaf, this study fabricated super-hydrophobic and super-lipophilic functionalized graphene oxide/polyurethane(FGP) sponge by a simple and inexpensive dip coating method. The resulting FGP sponge was characterized by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and water contact angle. The results expressed that FGP sponge exhibited a similar surface structure to that of a lotus leaf, and possessed the super-hydrophobic characteristic with the water contact angle(WAC) of 152°±1°. The absorption capacity and reusability were also investigated. It can be seen that, the FGP sponge can remove a wide range of oils and organic solvents from water with good absorption capacities(up to 35 times of its own mass). Significantly, after 10 cycles the absorption capacity of the oils and organic solvents was higher than 90%for the reused FGP sponge, demonstrating the good reusability of the FGP sponge. 4ADAMTS-7 promotes vascular smooth muscle cells proliferation in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC) proliferation and migration are pivotal for the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and post-angioplasty restenosis. We have recently reported that a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-7(ADAMTS-7), a novel metalloproteinase, contributes directly to neointima formation by mediating VSMC migration. However, whether ADAMTS-7 affects VSMC proliferation remains unclear. In this study, we found that luminal adenoviral delivery of ADAMTS-7 aggravated intimal hyperplasia 7 d after injury, paralleled by an increased percentage of PCNA-positive cells in both intima and media. In contrast, perivascular administration of ADAMTS-7 si RNA, but not scrambled si RNA to injured arteries attenuated intimal thickening at day 7, paralleled with reduced intimal VSMC replication, without alteration of VSMC proliferation in the media. In accordance, [3H]-thymidine incorporation assay in primary cultured rat VSMCs revealed an enhanced replication rate(by 61%) upon ADAMTS-7 overexpression and retarded proliferation(by 23%) upon ADAMTS-7 si RNA administration. Our data demonstrates that ADAMTS-7 promotes VSMC proliferation both in vitro and in vivo. 5Behavior and mechanism of graphene oxide-tris(4-aminophenyl)amine composites in adsorption of rare earth elements显示文摘Three-dimensional(3D)graphene oxide-tris(4-aminophenyl)amine(GO-TAPAx:y)composites with different GO-to-TAPA mass ratios(x:y)were prepared by a facile one-step ultrasonic treatment.GOTAPAx:y composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),nitrogen(N2)adsorption-desorption isotherms,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).Behavior and mechanism of GO-TAPAx:yco mposites for the adsorption of rare earth elements(REEs)were investigated.The adso rption capacities of GO-TAPA1;2 composite for Yb^3+,Er^3+,Nd^3+,La^3+and Y^3+are 30.88,26.52,20.60,11.24 and 10.52 mg/g,respectively.Effects of some important parameters including GO-to-TAPA mass ratios,contact time,reaction temperature and initial Yb^3+concentration on the adsorption were evaluated in detail.FTIR spectral and XPS analyses show that the metal complexations and ion exchanges between nitrogen/oxygen-containing species of the adsorbents and REEs are involved in the adsorption procedure besides the conventional adsorption based on specific surface area,indicating the introduction of specific molecules onto GO is beneficial to its adsorption ability.The convenient reusability and applicability of GO-TAPAx:y composites toward real samples also demonstrate their feasibility in the enrichment of REE ions.Xiaoru Zhao Xinyu Jiang Dongming Peng Jie Teng Jingang Yu 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,1:3

8Thermodynamic and Kinetic Studies of Effective Adsorption of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol onto Calcine Mg/Al-CO_3 Layered Double Hydroxide显示文摘Adsorption of 2, 4, 6-trichlorophenol(TCP) onto the calcined Mg/Al-CO_3 layered double hydroxide(CLDH) was investigated. The prepared Mg/Al-CO_3 layered double hydroxide(LDH) and CLDH were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction(XRD) and thermo gravimetric analyzer-differential scanning calorimeters(TG-DSC). Moreover, 2,4,6-trichlorophenol(TCP) was removed effectively(94.7% of removal percentage in 9h) under the optimized experimental conditions. The adsorption kinetics data fitted the pseudosecond-order model well. The Freundlich, Langmuir, and Tempkin adsorption models were applied to the experimental equilibrium adsorption data at different temperatures of solution. The adsorption data fitted the Freundlieh adsorption isotherm with good values of the correlation coefficient. 10The evolution of China’s regulation of agricultural biotechnology显示文摘To ensure safe use of genetically modified organisms(GMOs),since 1993,China has made great efforts to establish and improve the safety regulatory system for GMOs.Here,we summarize and analyze the regulatory framework of agricultural GMOs,and the progress in regulatory approval of GM crops in China.In general,the development of GMO safety regulations underwent four stages:exploration(1993–2000),development(2001–2010),improvement(2011–2020)and current(2021-present)stage.The first formal regulation was promulgated in 1993,which provided a basis for further development of the regulations,during the exploration stage,when insect-resistant GM cotton,expressing genes from Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt),was approved for cultivation.During the development stage,the Chinese government issued a series of administrative measures,which covered almost all the fields relative to GMO safety when the basic regulatory system was established.Along with the controversy over GMO safety,the regulations have been further,and greatly improved,during improvement stage.From 2021,a few additional revisions have been made,and meanwhile,the new regulation on gene-edited crops was introduced with the development of biotechnology,forming a relative complete regulation and law system for China.The well-developed GMO regulations establishes a firm basis for safe use of GM crops in China.Currently,GM cotton and GM papaya have been widely grown on a large scale in China that have brought great economic and ecological benefits.In addition,12 corn events,3 soybean events,and 2 rice events have also obtained biosafety certification,but presently,these lines have yet to enter commercial production.However,several GM soybean and corn events have entered pilot industrialization,and can soon be expected to be commercially grown in China.In addition to planting,six GM crops,including soybean,corn,cotton,canola,papaya and sugar beet,with a total of 64 events,have been approved for import as processing material in China.Jingang Liang Xiaowei Yang Yue Jiao Danxia Wang Qiang Zhao Yu Sun Yunhe Li Kongming Wu 2022aBIOTECH2022,3,4:2
