| 1 | Research progress of heavy metal pollution in China:Sources, analytical methods, status, and toxicity显示文摘Heavy metal pollution is one of the most serious environmental problems in China and a large number of people are threatened by heavy metal pollution.Extensive damage to human organs, such as liver, kidney, digestion system, and nervous system can be caused by uptake of excess heavy metals.Heavy metals in the environment can originate from both natural and anthropogenic sources.Although contamination of heavy metals has been known to be a severe environmental problem for decades,it is still getting worse in recent years and there are few feasible approaches to resolve this problem.Due to their high toxicity, prevalent existence and persistence in the environment, lead(Pb),mercury(Hg),cadmium(Cd),chromium(Cr) and arsenic(As) are commonly considered as the priority heavy metals which should be concerned and their emission should be controlled in China. This paper reviewed the pollution of heavy metals in China, focusing on the following four aspects:current status of heavy metal pollution in China, sources of heavy metals in China, toxicity and potential risk, and possible reduction strategies. | HE Bin YUN ZhaoJun SHI JianBo JIANG GuiBin | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2: | 114 |
| 2 | High-speed image reconstruction for optically sectioned,super-resolution structured illumination microscopy显示文摘Super-resolution structured illumination microscopy(SR-SIM)is an outstanding method for visualizing the subcellular dynamics in living cells. To date,by using elaborately designed systems and algorithms,SR-SIM can achieve rapid, optically sectioned,SR observation with hundreds to thousands of time points.However,real-time observation is still out of reach for most SIM setups as conventional algorithms for image reconstruction involve a heavy computing burden. To address this limitation,an accelerated reconstruction algorithm was developed by implementing a simplified workflow for SR-SIM,termed joint space and frequency reconstruction. This algorithm results in an 80-fold improvement in reconstruction speed relative to the widely used Wiener-SIM.Critically,the increased processing speed does not come at the expense of spatial resolution or sectioning capability,as demonstrated by live imaging of microtubule dynamics and mitochondrial tubulation. | Zhaojun Wang Tianyu Zhao Huiwen Hao Yanan Cai Kun Feng Xue Yun Yansheng Liang Shaowei Wang Yujie Sun Piero RBianco Kwangsung Oh Ming Lei | 2022 | Advanced Photonics2022,4,2: | 9 |
| 3 | Estimation of bioaccessibility and potential human health risk of mercury in Chinese patent medicines显示文摘Mercury(Hg), mainly in cinnabar species, has been used in medicine for thousands of years in China, and worldwide concern has been raised on its toxicity. In this work, the amount of bioaccessible mercury in 16 Chinese patent medicines(CPMs) was measured by using an in vitro simulated digestion system, consisting of simulated gastric and intestinal fluid, to investigate the bioavailability of mercury in CPMs and evaluate its potential risk to human health. Total mercury and mercury in the gastrointestinal extracts were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS). The levels of total Hg in 16 CPMs ranged from not detected to 11.89 mg/g, with a mean value of 1.13 mg/g, while the extractable Hg ranged from not detected to 4.37 μg/g, with a mean value of 0.42 μg/g.Mercury bioaccessibility varied significantly in the investigated CPMs, depending on the ingredient. Compared to the CPMs without cinnabar(2.5%–30.9%), the percentage of mercury in the gastrointestinal supernatants for CPMs with cinnabar was quite a bit lower(0.037%). By comparing with the Food and Agricultural Organization/World Health Organization Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives(FAO/WHO) safety guideline, the average daily intake dose(ADD) of Hg in the medicines was then calculated to access the risk of mercury to human health from taking CPMs. | Lihong Liu Yu Zhang Zhaojun Yun Bin He Guibin Jiang | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,1: | 5 |

| 5 | Generalized perfect optical vortices with free lens modulation显示文摘In this paper,we present an approach called the free lens modulation(FLM)method to generate high-perfection3D generalized perfect optical vortices(GPOVs)with topological charges of 1–80.In addition,2D and 3D GPOVs were produced by altering the parameters of the freely shaped lenses. To verify the quality of the GPOVs produced with the FLM method,we conducted optical trapping experiments and realized linear control of the rotation rate of the trapped particle.Due to the great advantages of high perfection and high power usage in generating arbitrarily shaped GPOVs,the FLM method is expected to be applied in optical manipulation, optical communications, and other fields. | MINRU HE YANSHENG LIANG XUE YUN ZHAOJUN WANG TIANYU ZHAO SHAOWEI WANG PIERO RBIANCO MING LEI | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,1: | 0 |
