2The HuangZaoSi Maize Genome Provides Insights into Genomic Variation and Improvement History of Maize显示文摘Maize is a globally important crop that was a classic model plant for genetic studies. Here, we report a 2.2 Gb draft genome sequence of an elite maize line, HuangZaoSi (HZS). Hybrids bred from HZS-improved lines (HILs) are planted in more than 60% of maize fields in China. Proteome clustering of six completed sequeneed maize genomes show that 638 proteins fall into 264 HZS-specific gene families with the majority of contributions from tandem duplication events. Resequencing and comparative analysis of 40 HZSrelated lines reveals the breeding history of HILs. More than 60% of identified selective sweeps were clustered in identity.by.descent conserved regions, and yield-related genes/QTLs were enriched in HZS characteristic selected regions. Furthermore, we dem on strated that HZS-specific family genes were not uniformly distributed in the genome but enriched in improvement/function.related genomic regions. 3A study of scale effect on specific sediment yield in the Loess Plateau,China显示文摘Based on data from 148 hydrometric stations in the Yellow River Basin, an analysis of regional scale relationship, or the relationship between specific sediment yield and drainage basin area, has been undertaken in the study area of the Loess Plateau. For different regions, scale relationship in log-log ordinate can be fitted by two types of lines: straight and parabola, and for each line, a function was fitted using regression analysis. The different scale relationships have been explained in terms of the difference in surface material distribution and landforms. To offset the scale-induced influence, calcu-lation has been done based on the fitted functions, in order to adjust the data of specific sediment yield to a common standard area. Based on the scaled data, a map of specific sediment yield was con-structed using Kriging interpolation. For comparison, a map based on the un-scaled data of specific sediment yield was also constructed using the same method. The two maps show that the basic pattern of specific sediment yield was basically the same. The severely eroded areas (Ys >10000 t km-2a-1) were at the same locations from Hekouzhen to Longmen in the middle Yellow River Basin. 4MicroRNA-24 promotes pancreatic beta cells toward dedifferentiation to avoid endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced apoptosis显示文摘Current research indicates that beta cell loss in type 2 diabetes may be attributed to beta cell dedifferentiation rather than apoptosis;however,the mechanisms by which this occurs remain poorly understood.Our previous study demonstrated that elevation of microRNA-24(miR-24)in a diabetic setting caused beta cell dysfunction and replicative deficiency.In this study,we focused on the role of miR-24 in beta cell apoptosis and dedifferentiation under endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress conditions.We found that miR-24 overabundance protected beta cells from thapsigargin-induced apoptosis at the cost of accelerating the impairment of glucosestimulated insulin secretion(GSIS)and enhancing the presence of dedifferentiation markers.Ingenuity?Pathway Analysis(IPA)revealed that elevation of miR-24 had an inhibitory effect on XBP1 and ATF4,which are downstream effectors of two key branches of ER stress,by inhibiting its direct target,Irela.Notably,elevated miR-24 initiated another pathway that targeted Mafa and decreased GSIS function in surviving beta cells,thus guiding their dedifferentiation under ER stress conditions.Our results demonstrated that the elevated miR-24,to the utmost extent,preserves beta cell mass by inhibiting apoptosis and inducing dedifFerentiation.This study not only provides a novel mechanism by which miR-24 dominates beta cell turnover under persistent metabolic stress but also offers a therapeutic consideration for treating diabetes by inducing dedifferentiated beta cells to re-differentiation.Yunxia Zhu Yi Sun Yuncai Zhou Yan Zhang Tao Zhang Yating Li Weiyan You Xiaoai Chang Li Yuan Xiao Han 2019Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2019,11,9:9
5Alkali metal cation doping of metal-organic framework for enhancing carbon dioxide adsorption capacity显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) have attracted much attention as adsorbents for the separation of CO2 from flue gas or natural gas. Here,a typical metal-organic framework HKUST-1(also named Cu-BTC or MOF-199) was chemically reduced by doping it with alkali metals(Li, Na and K) and they were further used to investigate their CO2 adsorption capacities. The structural information, surface chemistry and thermal behavior of the prepared adsorbent samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis(TGA)and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm analysis. The results showed that the CO2 storage capacity of HKUST-1 doped with moderate quantities of Li+, Na+and K+, individually, was greater than that of unmodified HKUST-1. The highest CO2 adsorption uptake of 8.64mmol/g was obtained with 1K-HKUST-1, and it was ca. 11% increase in adsorption capacity at 298 K and 18 bar as compared with HKUST-1. Moreover, adsorption tests showed that HKUST-1 and 1K-HKUST-1 displayed much higher adsorption capacities of CO2 than those of N2. 6Capture of carbon dioxide from flue gas on TEPA-grafted metal-organic framework Mg_2 (dobdc)显示文摘Carbon dioxide(CO2) adsorption on a standard metal-organic framework Mg2(dobdc)(Mg/DOBDC or Mg-MOF-74) and a tetraethylenepentamine(TEPA) modified Mg2(dobdc)(TEPA-Mg/DOBDC) were investigated and compared. The structural information, surface chemistry and thermal behavior of the adsorbent samples were characterized by X-ray powder difraction(XRD), infrared spectroscopy(IR), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm analysis. CO2adsorption capacity was measured by dynamic adsorption experiments with N2-CO2mixed gases at 60°C. Results showed that the CO2adsorption capacity of Mg/DOBDC was significantly improved after amine modification, with an increase from 2.67 to 6.06 mmol CO2/g adsorbent.Moreover, CO2adsorption on the TEPA-Mg/DOBDC adsorbent was promoted by water vapor, and the adsorption capacity was enhanced to 8.31 mmol CO2/g absorbent. The adsorption capacity of the TEPA-Mg/DOBDC adsorbent dropped only 3% after 5consecutive adsorption/desorption cycles. 8Pingwei capsules improve gastrointestinal motility in rats with functional dyspepsia显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the mechanism of Ping-wei capsules(PWC) in improving gastrointestinal m otility in rats with functional dyspepsia(FD).METHODS: We established an FD model by stimu-lating semi-starvation rats via tail damping, provo-cation, and forced exercise fatigue. The FD model group was further divided into five groups accord-ing to the treatment received: normal saline, dom-peridone, low-dose PWC, mid-dose PWC, or highdose PWC. The effect of PWC on FD was evaluated by measuring gastrointestinal motility. Changes in leptin and cholecystokinin(CCK) were detected through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, re-verse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and immunohistochemistry.RESULTS: PWC significantly increased gastrointesti-nal m otility in FD rats. Furthermore, PWC signifi-cantly increased CCK m RNA and protein concentra-tions in the duodenum and antrum, decreased leptin protein concentrations in the duodenum, an-trum, and hypothalamus, and decreased CCK pro-tein concentration in the hypothalamus.CONCLUSION: PWC improves gastrointestinal mo-tor function in FD rats by decreasing the leptin con-centration in serum and the brain-gut axis, and by increasing the CCK concentration in gastrointesti-nal tissue. 9Effects of fermented protein feed on the growth performance of pond-raised crab显示文摘This study aimed to elucidate the effect of a pellet feed containing fermented proteins on pond-raised Chinese mitten crabs,Eriocheir sinensis in a 7-month crab feeding experiment in Gucheng Lake,Jiangsu province,China.The results showed that fermented protein could significantly increase mean weight gain,crab size and total yield compared with control group.Moreover,the mean weight of male crabs and the number of large-sized male crabs improved over those of the control group.However,feed efficiency ratio did not differ significantly between the two groups.The amino acid content in the muscles of the female crabs of both the groups was higher than that in the muscles of the male crabs.The present study suggests that fermented compound protein may be one kind of potential protein sources for E.sinensis.Jiying Yu Jiayi Yu Xianming Chen Xin Zhou Yunxia Cai Huiyi Cai Peishi Yan 2019Aquaculture and Fisheries2019,4,4:3
10Identification and characterization of Mini1, a gene regulating rice shoot development显示文摘The aerial parts of higher plants are generated from the shoot apical meristem(SAM). In this study, we isolated a small rice(Oryza sativa L.) mutant that showed premature termination of shoot development and was named mini rice 1(mini1). The mutant was first isolated from a japonica cultivar Zhonghua11(ZH11) subjected to ethyl methanesulfonate(EMS)treatment. With bulked segregant analysis(BSA) and map-based cloning method, Mini1 gene was finally fine-mapped to an interval of 48.6 kb on chromosome 9. Sequence analyses revealed a single base substitution from G to A was found in the region, which resulted in an amino acid change from Gly to Asp.The candidate gene Os09g0363900 was predicted to encode a putative adhesion of calyx edges protein ACE(putative HOTHEAD precursor) and genetic complementation experiment confirmed the identity of Mini1. Os09g0363900 contains glucose-methanol-choline(GMC) oxidoreductase and NAD(P)-binding Rossmann-like domain, and exhibits high similarity to Arabidopsis HOTHEAD(HTH). 11Health risk assessments of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated/brominated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in urban air particles in a haze frequent area in China显示文摘The potential threats of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and chlorinated/brominated PAHs(Cl/Br-PAHs)to human health from particulate matter in the urban ambient air were studied using human health risk assessments.The risk to human health caused by exposure to PAHs was evaluated in Shijiazhuang,China,from January to December 2018.The PAHs concentration range was 16.02e475.21 ng/m3 and the toxic equivalent was 13.605 ng/m3.For adults,the average carcinogenic risk caused by respiratory exposure was 5.163×10^-6 and the resulting loss of life expectancy was 32.10 min.The human health risks of respiratory exposure to Cl/Br-PAHs in atmospheric samples from the Haidian District,Beijing,China,were evaluated from November 2017 to July 2018.The concentration ranges for the Cl-and Br-PAHs were 60.38e482.17 pg/m3 and 1.32e25.35 pg/m3,respectively.The average carcinogenic equivalent concentrations were 0.3274 pg/m3 and 0.0061 pg/m3 for the Cl-and Br-PAHs,respectively.For adults the average carcinogenic risks caused by respiratory exposure were 1.243×10^-10 and 2.316×10^-12 for the Cl-and Br-PAHs,respectively.The resulting loss of life expectancy values were 0.001 min(Cl-PAHs)and 0.00 min(Br-PAHs).The pollution concentrations and toxic equivalents of the Cl/Br-PAHs in Beijing and of the PAHs in Shijiazhuang both showed toxicity was high in the winter.The average carcinogenic risk for exposure of adults to PAHs in Shijiazhuang was low with certain potential hazards.The concentration of Cl-PAHs in Beijing was higher than that of Br-PAHs,and the average carcinogenic risk for exposure of adults to Cl/Br-PAHs was very low with slight harm.Miwei Shi Rongzhi Zhang Yunxia Wang Yan Zhang Yuan Zhang Yanjie Zhang 2020Emerging Contaminants2020,6,1:2
12Highly efficient stacked organic light-emitting devices employing a novel intermediate layer显示文摘Highly efficient stacked organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) have been fabricated using Mg:Alq3:BCP/ WO3 as a novel intermediate layer, which connects two identical emissive units. The stacked OLEDs consisting of NPB/Alq3 exhibited high current efficiency and brightness characteristics over conven- tional single-unit device. At 200 mA/cm2, the current efficiency of the stacked OLEDs using the inter- mediate layers of Mg:Alq3:BCP/WO3 were about 6.85 cd/A, doubling that of the conventional device.
