3In-situ imaging the electrochemical reactions of Li-CO_(2) nanobatteries at high temperatures in an aberration corrected environmental transmission electron microscope显示文摘Rechargeable lithium-carbon dioxide(Li-CO_(2))batteries have attracted much attention due to their high theoretical energy densities and capture of C0_(2).However,the electrochemical reaction mechanisms of rechargeable Lo-CO_(2) batteries,particularly the decomposition mechanisms of the discharge product Li_(2)CO_(3) are still unclear,impeding their practical applications.Exploring electrochemistry of Li_(2)CO_(3) is critical for improving the performance of Li-C0_(2) batteries.Herein,in-situ environmental transmission electron microscopy(ETEM)technique was used to study electrochemistry of Li_(2)CO_(3) in Li-C0_(2) batteries during discharge and charge processes.During discharge,Li_(2)CO_(3) was nucleated and accumulated on the surface of the cathode media such as carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and Ag nanowires(Ag NWs),but it was hard to decompose during charging at room temperature.To promote the decomposition of Li2C03,the charge reactions were conducted at high temperatures,during which Li_(2)CO_(3) was decomposed to lithium with release of gases.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that the synergistic effect of temperature and biasing facilitates the decomposition of Li_(2)CO_(3).This study not only provides a fundamental understanding to the high temperature Li-C0_(2) nanobatteries,but also offers a valid technique,i.e.,discharging/charging at high temperatures,to improve the cyclability of Li-CO_(2) batteries for energy storage applications.Peng Jia Meiqi Yu Xuedong Zhang Tingting Yang Dingding Zhu Tongde Shen Liqiang Zhang Yongfu Tang Jianyu Huang 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:0
4Revealing alkali metal ions transport mechanism in the atomic channels of Au@a-MnO_(2)显示文摘Understanding alkali metal ions’(e.g.,Li^(+)/Na^(+)/K^(+))transport mechanism is challenging but critical to improving the performance of alkali metal batteries.Herein using a-MnO_(2)nanowires as cathodes,the transport kinetics of Li^(+)/Na^(+)/K^(+)in the 2×2 channels of a-MnO_(2)with a growth direction of[001]is revealed.We show that ion radius plays a decisive role in determining the ion transport and electrochemistry.Regardless of the ion radii,Li^(+)/Na^(+)/K^(+)can all go through the 2×2 channels of a-MnO_(2),generating large stress and causing channel merging or opening.However,smaller ions such as Li^(+)and Na^(+)cannot only transport along the[001]direction but also migrate along the<110>direction to the nanowire surface;for large ion such as K^(+),diffusion along the<110>direction is prohibited.The different ion transport behavior has grand consequences in the electrochemistry of metal oxygen batteries(MOBs).For Li-O_(2)battery,Li^(+)transports uniformly to the nanowire surface,forming a uniform layer of oxide;Na^(+)also transports to the nanowire surface but may be clogged locally due to its larger radius,therefore sporadic pearl-like oxides form on the nanowire surface;K^(+)cannot transport to the nanowire surface due to its large radius,instead,it breaks the nanowire locally,causing local deposition of potassium oxides.The study provides atomic scale understanding of the alkali metal ion transport mechanism which may be harnessed to improve the performance of MOBs.Jingzhao Chen Yong Su Hongjun Ye Yushu Tang Jitong Yan Zhiying Gao Dingding Zhu Jingming Yao Xuedong Zhang Tingting Yang Baiyu Guo Hui Li Qiushi Dai Yali Liang Jun Ma Bo Wang Haiming Sun Qiunan Liu Jing Wang Congcong Du Liqiang Zhang Yongfu Tang Jianyu Huang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,7:0

7Study on System of Faults in the Gulf of Mexico and Adjacent Region based on Gravity Data显示文摘In the Gulf of Mexico and adjacent landmasses,faults are very complex,and their distribution is closely related to plate tectonics,ocean-land boundary,and former structure.The plane position of the faults can be identified by the maximum characteristic of the vertical derivative of the normalized vertical derivative of the total horizontal derivative(NVDR-THDR)of the Bouguer gravity anomaly.The apparent depth of the faults is inverted by the Bouguer gravity anomaly curvature property.Based on tectonic evolutionary processes and the plane distribution and apparent depth characteristics of the faults,a complete fault system for the Gulf of Mexico and adjacent areas has been established,including 102 faults.The apparent depths of 33 first-class faults are 16-20 km and for 69 second-class faults are 12-16 km.The F_(1-2)and F_(1-3)subduction fault zones are two caused by the subduction of the Cocos Plate into the old Yucatan and Chorti landmasses;F_(1-11)and F_(1-12)fault zones extend westward to the coast of Guatemala and do not extend into the continent;F_(1-17)and F_(1-20)faults,which control the boundary of the oceanic crust,do not extend southward into the continent.The fault system,which radiates in a'fan-shaped'structure as a whole,unfolds to the northeast.Faults of different nature and sizes are distributed in the Cocos Plate subduction zone,Continental,Gulf of Mexico,Yucatan old landmass and Caribbean Plate in NW,NNW,NS,NE and NEE directions.In the Gulf of Mexico region,the fault system is a comprehensive reflection of former tectonic movements,such as plate movement,drift of old landmasses and expansion of oceanic crusts.The first-class faults control the plate and ocean-continental boundaries.The second-class faults are subordinate to the first-class faults or related to the distribution of different sedimentary layers.MA Jie WANG Wanyin DU Xiangdong LUO Xingang CAI Wenjie YANG Min WANG Dingding 2021Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,1:0
