7Abnormal gonad development in Kit^(W-2Bao) mice caused by a Kit gene missense mutation显示文摘KitW-2Bao mice are single-gene autosomal dominant mutation mice with a B6 background that were bred in our laboratory. Heterozygotes had morphological characteristics including albinism of the abdomen, extremities, and tail, whereas the homozygotes had albinism of the body, black eyes, and infertility. The homozygous mutants showed small, structurally abnormal gonads, and lacked germ cells. Heterozygous male mice lacked germ cells in some contorted seminiferous tubules. This mutation has been mapped at 43.8 cM from the centromere in chromosome 5 by linkage analysis and Kit has been identified as the candidate gene. After Kit full-length mRNA amplification, it was found that a G to T conversion at position 1228 in the ORF changed the 410th amino acid from V to F. This amino acid change could affect the protein’s secondary structure. Heterozygous mutant mice were intercrossed and homozygous mutant mice were bred and genotyped. We found that no primordial germ cells (PGCs) appeared in the urogenital ridge area at fetus day 11.5 in the homozygotes. The number of PGCs also significantly decreased in heterozygotes. At fetus day 15.5, the differentiation of the testis tubule structure was unclear; as well, they contained no spermatogonia. Female homozygotes contained no primordial follicles in the ovary. The numbers of PGCs and primordial follicles were significantly decreased in heterozygous mice. 12Development,differentiation,and material distribution of secondary phloem in Pinus massoniana显示文摘Phloem is the woody tissue for the storage and long-distance transport of organic matter in vascular bundles.To reveal the process of secondary phloem development and differentiation in Pinus massoniana,the structure of the secondary phloem and the distribution of cell inclusions were observed by histochemical staining,spontaneous fluorescence of phenolic substances and cell segregation.Based on tissue development and differentiation characteristics of P.massoniana secondary phloem,the secondary phloem development was divided into seven stages:the functional phloem stage;the sieve cell lignification stage;the phloem ray bending stage;the parenchyma cell dedifferentiation and division stage;the dedifferentiated parenchyma cell population formation stage;the periderm alteration stage,and the rhytidome stage.An analysis of cell morphology and inclusion distribution characteristics showed that the sieve cells were deformed during lignification,the quantities of parenchyma and resin ducts increased with development and the crystal content in cells,as well as the levels of sugars and lipids in phloem parenchyma cells,increased with development.The results indicate that the P.massoniana phloem first lost longitudinal transport function and then increased its secretory,storage and mechanical functions.Ultimately,the parenchyma differentiated into the cortex and periderm,and the tissue outside the new periderm lignified to form the rhytidome,which fully developed into the protective tissue of the stem.Chao Yang Fuhua Fan Gang Xu Guijie Ding 2023Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,6:0
13Innovations in marine technology and potential needs for Arctic governance显示文摘The Arctic is a region of major significance in the Earth system,particularly important for global climate and international maritime governance.As human activity,relying on manufactured equipment,steadily increases in the Arctic,technological innovations for marine equipment must support the gradually more stringent requirements for future Arctic governance.In this review,four categories of innovations are analyzed,namely:innovations driven by traditional thinking,innovations for environmental protection,innovations for practical application,and innovations for observing information systems.Two examples of international regulations,the Polar Code(adopted in 2014)and the International Standard for Arctic offshore structures of the International Organization for Standardization(ISO 19906,first published in 2010),are selected to illustrate successful international cooperation efforts for Arctic marine innovation.This work provides a basis for discussion on technology development,governance efficiency,and international cooperation in the Arctic.YANG Jian SHI Guijie 2022Advances in Polar Science2022,33,4:0
14Double-ended passivator enables dark-current-suppressed colloidal quantum dot photodiodes for CMOS-integrated infrared imagers显示文摘Lead sulfide(PbS)colloidal quantum dot(CQD)photodiodes integrated with silicon-based readout integrated circuits(ROICs)offer a promising solution for the next-generation short-wave infrared(SWIR)imaging technology.Despite their potential,large-size CQD photodiodes pose a challenge due to high dark currents resulting from surface states on nonpassivated(100)facets and trap states generated by CQD fusion.In this work,we present a novel approach to address this issue by introducing double-ended ligands that supplementally passivate(100)facets of halidecapped large-size CQDs,leading to suppressed bandtail states and reduced defect concentration.Our results demonstrate that the dark current density is highly suppressed by about an order of magnitude to 9.6 nA cm^(2) at^(-1)0 mV,which is among the lowest reported for PbS CQD photodiodes.Furthermore,the performance of the photodiodes is exemplary,yielding an external quantum efficiency of 50.8%(which corresponds to a responsivity of 0.532 A W^(-1))and a specific detectivity of 2.5×10^(12) Jones at 1300 nm.By integrating CQD photodiodes with CMOS ROICs,the CQD imager provides high-resolution(640512)SWIR imaging for infrared penetration and material discrimination.Peilin Liu Shuaicheng Lu Jing Liu Bing Xia Gaoyuan Yang Mo Ke Xuezhi Zhao Junrui Yang Yuxuan Liu Ciyu Ge Guijie Liang Wei Chen Xinzheng Lan Jianbing Zhang Liang Gao Jiang Tang 2024InfoMat2024,6,1:0
