| 1 | Ethylene Emission as a Potential Indicator of Fuji Apple Flavor Quality Evaluation Under Low Temperature显示文摘Fuji apple(Malus×domestica Borkh.)is a popular fruit cultivar and occupies an important position in the fruit market due to its excellent flavor and storage quality.Ethylene emission can induce respiration,which would reduce postharvest quality and increase storage losses.In order to maintain fruit quality and extend shelf life,apples are usually stored in a low-temperature environment after harvest to reduce the formation of ethylene.Volatile aroma components are regarded as one of the most important aspects of flavor quality and a key factor for apple quality grading and customer satisfaction.Ethylene emission and its relationship with volatile aromas during low temperature,however,have not been determined.In this study,the dynamic changes of volatile aroma compounds of Fuji apples stored at 4°C were detected and analyzed for 42 days.The variation of ethylene released from Fuji apple was studied correspondingly.The results showed that ethyl butyrate,ethyl caproate,ethyl 2-methylbutyrate and 2-methylbutyl acetate were the main aroma components of Fuji apple.The change in ethylene emission and the normalized peak area of volatile aroma compounds exhibited a similar tendency that increased significantly from the 3rd day to the peak on the 14th day and then decreased;there was a positive linear correlation between them with a correlation coefficient of 0.79(P<0.05).Therefore,ethylene release can be used as a potential indicator for evaluation of volatile aroma compounds in apples.Using ethylene emission as an indicator could reduce the difficulty and complexity of volatile aroma evaluation,which could be a new non-destructive inspection choice for apple flavor quality assessment. | Weiyan Qi Haijing Wang Zhen Zhou Peng Yang Wenbin Wu Zhemin Li Xian Li | 2020 | Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,4: | 18 |
| 2 | Gene admixture in ethnic populations in upper part of Silk Road revealed by mtDNA polymorphism显示文摘To evaluate the gene admixture on the current genetic landscape in Gansu Corridor (GC) in China, the upper part of the ancient Silk Road which connects the Eastern and Central Asia, we examined mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) polymorphisms of five ethnic populations in this study. Using PCR-RFLP and sequencing, we analyzed mtDNA haplotypes in 242 unrelated samples in three ethnic populations from the GC region and two ethnic populations from the adjacent Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. We analyzed the data in comparison with the previously reported data from Eastern, Central and Western Asia and Europe. We found that both European-specific haplogroups and Eastern Asian-specific haplogroups exist in the Gansu Corridor populations, while a modest matrilineal gene flow from Europeans to this region was revealed. The Gansu Corridor populations are genetically located between Eastern Asians and Central Asians, both of who contributed significantly to the maternal lineages of the GC populations. | 5 | A dual-active Co-CoO heterojunction coupled with Ti_(3)C_(2)-MXene for highly-performance overall water splitting显示文摘Development of cost-effective and highly-efficient bifunctional hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)catalysts is crucial for overall water splitting in practical utilization.Herein,we proposed a novel non-noble metal bifunctional,HER/OER electrocatalyst by synergistically coupling a dual-active Co-based heterojunction(Co-CoO)with high conductive and stable two-dimensional Ti_(3)C_(2)-MXene(defined as Co-CoO/Ti^(3)CrMXene).A series of characterizations and theoretical calculations'verify that the synergistic effect of metallic Co with HER activity and Coo with OER performance leads to superb bifunctional catalytic performance,and Ti_(3)C_(2)-MXene can enhance electrical conductivity and prevent the aggregation of the Co-based catalysts,thereby improving both the activity arid stability.Co-Co0/Ti_(3)C_(2)-MXene presents low onset potential(11onse1)of 8 mV and,Tafel slope of 47 mV·dec^(-1) for HER(close to that of Pt/C)and 17onset of 196 mV and Tafel slope of 47 mV·dec^(-1) for OER(superior to:that of Ru02).Assembled as an electrolyzer,Co-CoO/Ti_(3)C_(2)-MXene shows a low voltage of 1.55 V at 10 mA·cm^(-2),high Faradaic efficiency and remarkable stability.It can be driven by a solar cell of-1.55 V for consecutive production of hydrogen and oxygen gases. | Dezheng Guo Xin Li Yanqing Jiao Haijing Yan Aiping Wu Ganceng Yang Yu Wang Chungui Tian Honggang Fu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,1: | 2 |
| 6 | Evaluation of menopausal status among breast cancer patients with chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea显示文摘Objective: In patients with chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea(CIA), the menopausal status is ambiguous and difficult to evaluate. This study aimed to establish a discriminative model to predict and classify the menopausal status of breast cancer patients with CIA.Methods: This is a single center hospital-based study from 2013 to 2016. The menopausal age distribution and accumulated incidence rate of CIA are described. Multivariate models were adjusted for established and potential confounding factors including age, serum concentration of estradiol(E2) and follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),feeding, pregnancy, parity, abortions, and body mass index(BMI). The odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of different risk factors were estimated.Results: A total of 1,796 breast cancer patients were included in this study, among whom, 1,175(65.42%) were premenopausal patients and 621(34.58%) were post-menopause patients. Five hundred and fifty patients were included in CIA analysis, and a cumulative CIA rate of 81.64% was found in them. Age(OR: 1.856, 95% CI:1.732-1.990), serum concentration of E2(OR: 0.976, 95% CI: 0.972-0.980) and FSH(OR: 1.060, 95% CI:1.053-1.066), and menarche age(OR: 1.074, 95% CI: 1.009-1.144) were found to be associated with the patients' menopausal status. According to multivariate analysis, the discriminative model to predict the menopausal status is Logit(P)=-28.396+0.536 Age-0.014 E2+0.031 FSH. The sensitivities for this model were higher than 85%, and its specificities were higher than 89%.Conclusions: The discriminative model obtained from this study for predicting menstrual state is important for premenopausal patients with CIA. | 16 | Alternations in the gut microbiota and metabolome with newly diagnosed unstable angina显示文摘Gut microbiota plays an important role in coronary heart disease, but its compositional and functional changes in unstable angina(UA) remain unexplored. We performed metagenomic sequencing of 133 newly diagnosed UA patients and 133 sex-and age-matched controls, and profiled the fecal and plasma metabolomes in 30 case-control pairs. The alpha diversity of gut microbiota was increased in UA patients:the adjusted odds ratios(ORs) per standard deviation increase in Shannon and Simpson indices were 1.30(95% confidence interval, 1.01-1.70) and 1.36(1.05-1.81), respectively. Two common species(depleted Klebsiella pneumoniae and enriched Streptococcus parasanguinis;P ≤ 0.002) and three rare species(depleted Weissella confusa, enriched Granulicatella adiacens and Erysipelotrichaceae bacterium 6_1_45;P ≤ 0.005) were associated with UA. The UA-associated gut microbiota was depleted in the pathway of Lphenylalanine degradation(P = 0.001), primarily contributed by Klebsiella pneumoniae. Consistently, we found increased circulating phenylalanine in UA patients(OR = 2.76 [1.17-8.16]). Moreover, Streptococcus parasanguinis was negatively correlated with fecal citrulline(Spearman's r_(s)=-0.470, P = 0.009), a metabolite depleted in UA patients(OR = 0.26 [0.08-0.63]).
