2Optical observations of LIGO source GW 170817 by the Antarctic Survey Telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica显示文摘The LIGO detection of gravitational waves(GW) from merging black holes in 2015 marked the beginning of a new era in observational astronomy. The detection of an electromagnetic signal from a GW source is the critical next step to explore in detail the physics involved. The Antarctic Survey Telescopes(AST3),located at Dome A, Antarctica, is uniquely situated for rapid response time-domain astronomy with its continuous night-time coverage during the austral winter. We report optical observations of the GW source(GW 170817) in the nearby galaxy NGC 4993 using AST3. The data show a rapidly fading transient at around 1 day after the GW trigger, with the i-band magnitude declining from 17:23 ± 0:13 magnitude to 17:72 ± 0:09 magnitude in ~1:8 h. The brightness and time evolution of the optical transient associated with GW 170817 are broadly consistent with the predictions of models involving merging binary neutron stars. 3Microstructure and Mechanical Property of in-situ Al-Cu/TiC Composites显示文摘An approach named direct reaction synthesis (DRS) has been developed to fabricate particulate composites with an extremely fine reinforcement size. ID situ Al matrix composites were fabri-cated by DRS. Extensive analysis of the composites microstructure using SEM and TEM identify that the reinforcement formed during the DRS process is Ti carbide (TiC) particle, generally less than 1.0 μm. The reacted, semisolid extruded samples exhibit a homogeneous distribution of fine TiC particles in Al-Cu matrix, Mechanical property evaluation of the composites has revealed a very high tensile strength relative to the matrix alloy. 4Comparative transcriptome analysis of different nitrogen responses in low-nitrogen sensitive and tolerant maize genotypes显示文摘Although previous researches have greatly increased our general knowledge on plant responses to nitrogen(N)stress,a comprehensive understanding of the different responses in crop genotypes is still needed.This study evaluated 304 maize accessions for low-N tolerance under field conditions,and selected the low-N sensitive Ye478 and low-N tolerant Qi319 for further investigations.After a 5-day low-N treatment,the typical N-deficient phenotype with yellowing older leaves was observed in Ye478 but not in Qi319.After the 5-day low-N stress,16 RNA libraries from leaf and root of Ye478 and Qi319 were generated.The differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in the root of Qi319 up-regulated by special N deficiency were mainly enriched in energy-related metabolic pathways,including tricarboxylic acid metabolic process and nicotinamide metabolic process.Consistent with yellowing older leaves only observed in Ye478,the special N deficiency-responsive DEGs related to thylakoid,chloroplast,photosynthetic membrane,and chloroplast stroma pathways were repressed by low-N stress in Ye478.A total of 216 transcription factors(TFs),including ZmNLP5,were identified as special N deficiencyresponsive TFs between Qi319 and Ye478,indicating the importance of transcriptional regulation of N stress-responsive pathway in different tolerance to low-N stress between crop genotypes.In addition,15 miRNAs were identified as DEGs between Qi319 and Ye478.Taken together,this study contributes to the understanding of the genetic variations and molecular basis of low-N tolerance in maize.DU Qing-guo YANG Juan Shah Syed Muhammad Sadiq YANG Rong-xin YU Jing-juan LI Wen-xue 2021Journal of Integrative Agriculture2021,20,8:5

8A panel of monoclonal antibodies against the prion protein proves that there is no prion protein in human pancreatic ductal epithelial cells显示文摘Prion diseases are a group of neurodegenerative diseases that are fatal. The study of these unique diseases in China is hampered by a lack of resources. Amongst the most important resources for biological study are monoclonal antibodies. Here, we characterize a panel of monoclonal antibodies specific for cellular prion protein by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), immunofluorescent staining, flow cytometry, and western blotting. 9Reporting and understanding the safety and adverse effect profile of mobile apps for psychosocial interventions: An update显示文摘Recent years have seen a rapidly increasing trend towards the delivery of health technology through mobile devices. Smartphones and tablet devices are thus becoming increasingly popular for accessing information and a wide range of services, including health care services. Modern mobile apps can be used for a variety of reasons, ranging from education for the patients and assistance to clinicians to delivery of interventions. Mobile phone apps have also been established to benefit patients in a scope of interventions across numerous medical specialties and treatment modalities. Medical apps have their advantages and disadvantages. It is important that clinicians have access to knowledge to make decisions regarding the use of medical apps on the basis of risk-benefit ratio. Mobile apps that deliver psycho social interventions offer unique challenges and opportunities. A number of reviews have highlighted the potential use of such apps. There is a need to describe, report and study their side effects too. The adverse effects associated with these apps can broadly be divided into:(1) those resulting from the security and safety concerns;(2) those arising from the use of a particular psycho social intervention; and(3) those due to the interaction with digital technology. There is a need to refine and reconsider the safety and adverse effects in this area. The safety profile of a mobile PSI app should describe its safety profile in:(1) privacy and security;(2) adverse effects of psychotherapy; and(3) adverse effects unique to the use of apps and the internet. 10Inheritance of resistance to race 7 of Cercospora sojina in soybeans and RAPD tagging of the resistance gene显示文摘Frog-eye leaf spot of soybean caused by Cercospora sojina Hara is a kind of worldwide disease. Resistance to race 7 of C. sojina was found to be due to a single dominant gene through analyzing resistant behavior of the cross NEAU91212 (susceptible to race 7)× NEAU9674 (resistant to all races). 3 RAPD markers linked to the resistant gene Rcsc 7 were identified using the BSA method. 2 fragments of OPS03620 and OPS03580 amplified with primer OPS03 co-dominantly segregated in the F2 individuals. The genetic distance between OPS03620 and the resistant gene is 8.7 cM. 11New high-resolution 2D seismic imaging of fluid escape structures in the Makran subduction zone,Arabian Sea显示文摘Seabed fluid escape is active in the Makran subduction zone,Arabian Sea.Based on the new highresolution 2D seismic data,acoustic blanking zones and seafloor mounds are identified.Acoustic blanking zones include three kinds of geometries:Bell-shaped,vertically columnar and tilted zones.The bellshaped blanking zone is characterized by weak and discontinuous reflections in the interior and upbending reflections on the top,interpreted as gas chimneys.Vertically columnar blanking zone is interpreted as side-imaged gas chimneys associated with focused fluid flow and topped by a seafloor anomaly expressed as a localized reflection discontinuity,which may together serve as a vent structure.Tilted acoustic blanking zone could be induced by accretionary thrust activity and rapid sedimentation surrounding slope.Seafloor mounds occur at the sites of bell-shaped acoustic blanking zone and may be associated with the material intrusion.Bottom simulating refectors(BSRs)are widely distributed and exhibit a series of characteristics including diminished amplitude,low continuity as well as local shoaling overlapping with these acoustic blanking zones.The large amount of gases dissociated from the gas hydrates migrated upwards and then arrived at the near-seafloor sediments,followed by the formation of the gas hydrates and hence the seafloor mound.Bin Liu Jiang-xin Chen Syed Waseem Haider Xi-guang Deng Li Yang Min-liang Duan 2020China Geology2020,3,2:3

13Rational Design and Application of an Indolium-Derived Heptamethine Cyanine with Record-Long Second Near-Infrared Emission显示文摘Heptamethine cyanine dyes,typified by indocyanine green,have been extensively employed as bioimaging indicators and theranostic agents.Significant efforts have been made to develop functional heptamethine cyanine dyes with outstanding bioimaging and theranostic utilities.In this work,we rationally designed and successfully developed a novel indolium-like heptamethine cyanine dye by installing indolium-derived polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on the terminal ends of a conjugated polyene backbone.This dye showed excellent photostability and showed bright fluorescent emission in the second near-infrared(NIR-Ⅱ)window with a peak at approximately 1120 nm.Such long wavelength emission prompted a superior bioimaging resolution in vivo.In particular,this NIR-Ⅱ dye had the remarkable capability of marking the blood vessels of the hindlimbs,abdomens,and brains of mice.More significantly,this dye involved a typical indolium-like heptamethine skeleton and exhibited two strong absorption bands in the 700–1300 nm NIR range,which endowed it with an intrinsic tumor-targeting capability and a high photothermal conversion efficiency(up to 68.2%),serving for the photothermal therapy of tumors under the guidance of NIR-Ⅱ fluorescence imaging.This work provides an efficient design strategy for achieving indolium-like heptamethine cyanine dyes with further NIR-Ⅱ emission.Xiaoxie Ma Yurou Huang Syed Ali Abbas Abedi Heejeong Kim Tan Teck Boon Davin Xiaogang Liu Wen-Chao Yang Yao Sun Sheng Hua Liu Jun Yin Juyoung Yoon Guang-Fu Yang 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,6:2
14Structural Comparison and Drug Screening of Spike Proteins of Ten SARS-CoV-2 Variants显示文摘SARS-CoV-2(severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2)has evolved many variants with stronger infectivity and immune evasion than the original strain,including Alpha,Beta,Gamma,Delta,Epsilon,Kappa,lota,Lambda,and 21H strains.Amino acid mutations are enriched in the spike protein of SARS CoV-2.which plays a crucial role in cell infetion.However,the impact of these mutations on protein structure and function is unclear.Understanding the pathophysiology and pandemic feaures of these SARS-CoV-2 variants requires knowledge of the spike protein structures.Here,we obtained the spike protein structures of 10 main globally endemic SARS CoV-2 strains using AlphaFold2.The clustering analysis based on structural similarity revealed the unique features of the mainly pandemic SARS CoV-2 Delta variants.indicating that structural clusters can reflect the current characteristics of the epidemic more accurately than those based on the protein sequence.The analysis of the binding afinities of ACE2-RBD,antibody-NTD,and antibody-RBD complexes in the different variants revealed that the recognition of antibodies against SI NTD and RBD was decreased in the variants,especally the Delta variant compared with the original strain,which may induce the immune evasion of SARS-CoV-2 variants.Furthermore,by virtual screening the ZINC database against a high-accuracy predicted structure of Delta spike protein and experimental validation,we identified multiple compounds that target S1 NTD and RBD,which might contribute towards the development of clinical anti-SARS-CoV-2 medicines.Our findings provided a basic foundation for future in vitro and in vivo investigations that might speed up the development of potential therapies for the SARS-CoV-2 va riants.Qiangzhen Yang Xuemin Jian Ali Alamdar Shah Syed Aamir Fahira Chenxiang Zheng zijia Zhu Ke Wang Jinmai Zhang Yangin Wen Zhiqiang Li Dun Pan Tingting Lu Zhuo Wang Yongyong Shi 2022Research2022,,2:2
