| 1 | Roux-en-Y gastric bypass for Chinese type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with a BMI,28kg/m^2:a multi-institutional study显示文摘Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery(RYGB) has been demonstrated to be successful for treating type-II diabetes2mellitus(T2DM) patients with a body mass index(BMI),30 kg/m,but reports of RYGB for T2 DM patients with22 a BMI,28 kg/mare lacking.T2 DM patients with a BMI,28 kg/mwere prospectively recruited to participate in this study in four hospitals.The endpoint was T2 DM remission(defined by fasting blood glucose(FBG) level,110 mg/d L and hemoglobin(Hb)A1c level,6.0% at 12 months postoperatively).Predictors of remission were investigated by univariate and multivariate analyses.Eighty-six patients were assessed.Eighty-five patients underwent RYGB,with one conversion to open surgery.We compared the values of various variables before and after2 surgery.The mean BMI decreased from 24.68±2.12 to 21.72±2.43 kg/m(P,0.001).Fifty-eight(67.4%) patients were not treated by drugs or insulin after surgery,and 20 patients(23.3%) had complete remission of T2 DM at12 months after surgery with an acceptable number of complications.The mean Hb A1 c level in the remission group was significantly lower than that in the non-remission group.Patients with a higher weight,lower Hb A1 c level,higher C-peptide level,and higher FBG level were more likely to have T2 DM remission in multivariate2 analyses.In conclusion,RYGB was effective and safe for treating T2 DM patients with a BMI,28 kg/m.Complete remission can be predicted by cases having a higher weight,lower Hb A1 c level,higher C-peptide level,and higher FBG level. | Hui Liang Wei Guan Yanling Yang Zhongqi Mao Yijun Mei Huan Liu Yi Miao | 2015 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2015,29,2: | 13 |

| 3 | Preparation and anisotropic thermophysical properties of SiC honeycomb/Al-Mg-Si composite via spontaneous infiltration显示文摘The SiC honeycomb/Al-Mg-Si composite with interpenetrated microstructure was prepared by spontaneous infiltration of Al-8 wt%Mg-7 wt%Si alloy into directional porous SiC honeycomb served as reinforcement. The microstructure and anisotropic thermophysical properties of this composite were also examined. The results showed that the initial microstructure of the SiC honeycomb can be retained and the as-prepared SiC honeycomb/Al-Mg-Si composite exhibited significantly anisotropic characteristics. | 4 | A New Ductile Fracture Criterion and Its Application to the Prediction of Forming Limit in Deep Drawing显示文摘With considering the influence of equivalent plastic strain on void-damage and taking Lemaitre damage equivalent stress as plastic potential, based on continuous damage mechanics theory, a new criterion for ductile fracture is derived. The two key material constants in the criterion are determined by the combination of tension tests with FE (finite element) simulation. On the basis of the values of stress and strain calculated from commercial finite element software, the forming limit in cylindrical deep drawing of annealed aluminum alloy LY12(M) is predicted by means of the new ductile fracture criterion. Experiments verify that the predicted results are in agreement with the experimental ones. | 5 | Isolation and Characterization of a Cinnamoyl CoA Reductase Gene(CCR) in Pear(Pyrus pyrifolia)显示文摘Pear is a popular and commercially important fresh fruit, and its texture is related to the presence of sclereid formatted by parenchyma cell with lignification in vascular plants. Previous studies have demonstrated that content of lignin may be regulated by cinnamoyl CoA reductase(CCR) in various plants. However, the function of CCR in pears remains very limited. In the present study, we isolated a cDNA encoding CCR(PpCCR, GenBank accession No. KF999958) and its promoter(proPpCCR) from Whangkeumbae pear to investigate the function of CCR in lignin biosynthesis. PpCCR-GFP expressed in rice mesophyll protoplast demonstrated that PpCCR-GFP was localized in the cytoplasm, indicating that CCR may function in cytoplasm without localization signals. In transgenic plants carrying PpCCR, we observed higher lignin content compared with that in wild type plants, further suggesting that PpCCR can affect the lignin contents through regulating lignin biosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana. | 6 | Clocking Effect in a Two-Stage Compressor with Different Inter-Blade-Row Gaps显示文摘A multi-stage axial compressor has inherently unsteady flow fields because of the following main reasons: (1) relative positions between rotor and stator airfoil; (2) the buildup of converted wakes lead to complex wake/wake and wake/airfoil interactions. The distributions of the potential flows and wakes in the flow passage are depended on the relative positions of blade rows in axial and circumference direction, so variations in the relative axial positions (axial gap) and circumferential positions (clocking effect) of stators or rotors can change these distributions, leading to different compressor efficiency. The current study presents the experimental/numerical result of a low-speed axial compressor, considering the combined effects of stator clocking and variation of axial gaps. Testing was conducted in Two-Stage Axial Compressor Facility in Harbin Institute of Technology. In the test, time averaged data were collected. The results of experimental and time accurate flow calculation for 2 axial gaps, 8 clocking positions for each gap are compared. | 8 | Effect of reclamation on soil organic carbon pools in coastal areas of eastern China显示文摘The coastal wetlands of eastern China formone of the most important carbon sinks in the world.However, reclamation can significantly alter the soilcarbon pool dynamics in these areas. In this study, achronosequence was constructed for four reclamationzones in Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, easternChina (reclaimed in 1951, 1974, 1982, and 2007) and areference salt marsh to identify both the process of soilorganic carbon (SOC) evolution, as well as the effect ofcropping and soil properties on SOC with time afterreclamation. The results show that whereas soil nutrientelements and SOC increased after reclamation, theelectrical conductivity of the saturated soil extract (ECe),pH, and bulk density decreased within 62 years followingreclamation and agricultural amendment. In general, thesoil's chemical properties remarkably improved and SOCincreased significantly for approximately 30 years afterreclamation. Reclamation for agriculture (rice and cotton)significantly increased the soil organic carbon density(SOCD) in the top 60 cm, especially in the top 0-30 cm.However, whereas the highest concentration of SOCD inrice-growing areas was in the top 0-20 cm of the soilprofile, it was greater at a 20-60 cm depth in cotton-growing areas. Reclamation also significantly increasedheavy fraction organic carbon (HFOC) levels in the 0-30cm layer, thereby enhancing the stability of the soil carbonpool. | 15 | Waterproof of rock joint with lead strip for splitting tuff sheet in ancient China quarrying caverns显示文摘This paper presents the relics of rock joints caulked with lead strips, unearthed by the authors in 2007 and 2008. The relics were in ancient quarry caverns in Shepan Island, Zhejiang Province, eastern China. The quarry activities were mainly carried out for production of regular tuff stone plates about 800 years ago. Each of the lead strips was sealed into a rock joint by punching manually and carefully. At present, the lead strips still contact tightly with the rock joints and new mineral cerussite is found to have formed at the contact surfaces between the lead strip and its caulked rock joint. The use of lead strips caulking rock joints in quarry caverns is found for prevention of water from seeping out of the country rocks into quarry cavern bases, where all of the in-situ intact tuff rock was manually and near-horizontally split into thin rock sheets one by one for production of regular tuff plates. Furthermore, it is found that the tensile splitting of tuff sheets at the cavern base required the intact rocks at the cavern base had to be dry. | 20 | Co-assembly of FeTPP@Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles with photo-enhanced catalytic activity for synergistic tumor therapy显示文摘Chemodynamic therapy(CDT)offers a promising alternative to conventional cancer treatment.However,the limited acidity and H_(2)O_(2) concentration in tumor microenvironment(TME)severely impair the anticancer effects of CDT.In this study,we report a microemulsion-assisted coassembly method to prepare iron(III)tetraphenylporphyrin(FeTPP)and magnetic(Fe_(3)O_(4))nanocomposite material(FeTPP@Fe_(3)O_(4)),using photoactive FeTPP and Fe_(3)O_(4) nanocrystals as building blocks.The selfassembling nature of FeTPP results in disordered aggregation and fluorescence quenching,leading to a high light-to-heat conversion efficiency.Continuously,the photo-thermal effect enhances the catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))in the Fenton reaction on Fe_(3)O_(4) nanocrystals to generate highly toxic hydroxyl radicals(·OH)to destroy cancer cells.This cascade reaction produces a synergistic therapeutic effect between CDT and photothermal therapy(PTT),which significantly amplifies the therapeutic effect and enhances the treatment outcome of cancer patients.The highly efficient tumor catalytic therapy in vivo results confirmed that this nanomedicine treatment is an excellent biocompatible catalytic nanomedicine therapy achieved through a photo-enhanced Fenton reaction activity approach. | Tian Tian Jianshuai Bao Jinghan Wang Jiefei Wang Yan Ge Zengyin Li Shanqing Gao Zhongqi You Xiaoyan Yang Yong Zhong Feng Bai | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,10: | 0 |
