| 1 | Determination of thermal expansion coefficients for unidirectional fiber-reinforced composites显示文摘In the present work, the coefficients of thermal expansion(CTEs) of unidirectional(UD)fiber-reinforced composites are studied. First, an attempt is made to propose a model to predict both longitudinal and transverse CTEs of UD composites by means of thermo-elastic mechanics analysis. The proposed model is supposed to be a concentric cylinder with a transversely isotropic fiber embedded in an isotropic matrix, and it is subjected to a uniform temperature change. Then a concise and explicit formula is offered for each CTE. Finally, some finite element(FE) models are created by a finite element program MSC. Patran according to different material systems and fiber volume fractions. In addition, the available experimental data and results of other analytical solutions of CTEs are presented. Comparisons are made among the results of the cylinder model,the finite element method(FEM), experiments, and other solutions, which show that the predicted CTEs by the new model are in good agreement with the experimental data. | 2 | High-speed visual target tracking with mixed rotation invariant description and skipping searching显示文摘This paper proposes a novel high-speed visual target tracking system based on mixed rotation invariant description(MRID) and skipping searching method. MRID is a novel rotation invariant description of texture and edge information by annular histograms and dominant direction. It overcomes rotation variant and large computation issues in conventional LBP-HOG feature description. The skipping searching method used in tracking can remarkably decrease the computation time by avoiding repeated searching operations.The proposed tracking system contains an image sensor, a hierarchical vision processor and an actuator with2 dimensions of freedom(DOF). The vision processor integrates processors with pixel-and row-level parallelism to speed up the tracking algorithm. | 3 | Effect of Initial Microstructure on Warm Deformation Behavior of 45 Steel显示文摘In order to investigate the effect of initial microstructure on warm deformation behavior, some specimens of 45 steel were annealed and some quenched. Then the specimens were isothermally compressed on a Gleeble 3500 machine. The deformation temperature range was 550 to 700 ℃ and the strain rate range was 0.001 to 0.1 s-1. An optical microscope (OM) and a transmission electron microscope (TEM) were used to study the microstructures. The results show that the microstructure of annealed specimens is ferrite and pearlite and that of quenched specimens is martensite. The flow stress of quenched specimens is higher than that of annealed ones at 550 ℃ when strain rates are greater than 0.001 s-1. However, at 600 to 700 ℃ and strain rate of 0.001 s-1, the whole flow curves of quenched specimens are below that of annealed ones. Under the rest conditions, the flow stress of quenched specimens is higher at the beginning of compression and then the opposite is true after the strain is greater than a critical value. The microstructure examination proves that the tempering and dynamic recrystallization easily occur in the specimens with martensite during warm compression, which results in the above phenomena. | ZHAO Xin1, YANG Xiao-ling2, JING Tian-fu3 (1. | 5 | Linking key intervention timings to rapid declining effective reproduction number to quantify lessons against COVID-19显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is currently under a global pandemic trend.The efficiency of containment measures and epidemic tendency of typical countries should be assessed.In this study,the efficiency of prevention and control measures in China,Italy,Iran,South Korea,and Japan was assessed,and the COVID-19 epidemic tendency among these countries was compared.Results showed that the effective reproduction number(Re)in Wuhan,China increased almost exponentially,reaching a maximum of 3.98 before a lockdown and rapidly decreased to below 1 due to containment and mitigation strategies of the Chinese government.The Re in Italy declined at a slower pace than that in China after the implementation of prevention and control measures.The Re in Iran showed a certain decline after the establishment of a national epidemic control command,and an evident stationary phase occurred because the best window period for the prevention and control of the epidemic was missed.The epidemic in Japan and South Korea reoccurred several times with the Re fluctuating greatly.The epidemic has hardly rebounded in China due to the implementation of prevention and control strategies and the effective enforcement of policies.Other countries suffering from the epidemic could learn from the Chinese experience in containing COVID-19. | Zhihang Peng Wenyu Song Zhongxing Ding Quanquan Guan Xu Yang Qiaoqiao Xu Xu Wang Yankai Xia | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5: | 2 |

| 9 | Overview of the distribution and adaptation of a bloom-forming cyanobacterium Raphidiopsis raciborskii:integrating genomics,toxicity,and ecophysiology显示文摘Raphidiopsis raciborskii is a notorious bloom-forming and filamentous cyanobacterium that has been extensively investigated into its toxicity,phylogeny,and spreading potential.Studies have demonstrated that this species has spanned different climates from tropical zones to temperate regions,suggesting that R.raciborskii is becoming a cosmopolitan species in freshwater systems around the world.In fact,it has been proposed that several characteristics of R.raciborskii may explain its spread and dominance.In particular,R.raciborskii is known to display a high extent of physiological plasticity regarding nutrients,light regimes,and te mperature s.Moreover,this species illustrates different ecotype s with distinct environmental requirements.Here,we present an overview of R.raciborskii’s global distribution and adaptation strategy based on the recent findings from genome variance,toxicity,and ecophysiology.The expansion of its geographical distribution can be linked to its genome,toxicity,and ecophysiology.The variable genes are mainly associated with the stress response,phage defense,DNA repair,cell cycle control,and membrane transport,illustrating the species’adaptability in response to changing environments.In fact,the species shows rapid adaptability to low and/or variable nutrient availability,especially changing phosphorus availability.Moreover,the variabilities of strains within the population extend their flexibility to adapt and acclimate to ambient environment.In addition,cylindrospermopsins(CYN)appear to have a potential biological role in facilitating theirs dominance or bloom.These strategies of R.raciborskii make it a challenge to manage in a fre shwater system,reflecting the management of its bloom from further evidence of the complex ecophysiology,toxicity,and genome of this species. | Zhongxing WU Songqi YANG Junqiong SHI | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,5: | 1 |

| 13 | Environmental heterogeneity and productivity drive the assemblage of benthic diatom:a case study of the Three Gorges Reservoir显示文摘Dam construction has a critical effect on river ecosystems in the world,resulting in a rapid decline in biodiversity and ecosystem health.However,the effect of dam construction on the assemblage pattern of benthic diatoms remains unclear.The benthic diatoms assemblages in the tributary backwater area of the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR)were investigated under low water level(LWL)and high water level(HWL)conditions.Results show that Discostella stelligera,Nitzschia palea,and Craticula subminuscula were dominant species in LWL,while Achnanthidium minutissimum and Nitzschia dissipata were dominant in HWL.Furthermore,environmental variables,productivity parameters,diversity indices,and community similarity were found significantly different between LWL and HWL periods.The Mantel test indicated that both environmental and spatial factors had significant effects on diatom communities in backwater area,while productivity was also a key driving force in LWL.The variation partitioning analysis(VPA)further demonstrated that environment factors could explain the largest variance of diatom assemblages in HWL(9%)and LWL(11%),followed by spatial factors.The relative importance of productivity to diatom community was significantly enhanced in LWL,but only a slight effect was found in HWL.These results indicate that the diatom assemblages were shaped by both environmental filtering and spatial factors.The relative importance of spatial factors depended on the degree of productivity.Therefore,the homogenization of diatom communities due to environmental disturbance,e.g.eutrophication and dam building,is the underlying mechanism in assembling the benthic diatoms. | Songqi YANG Tian OUYANG Shaojun XU Lu ZHAO Lulu JI Junqiong SHI Zhongxing WU | 2023 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,3: | 0 |
| 14 | Physiological and molecular responses of invasive cyanobacterium Raphidiopsis raciborskii to ambient phosphorus deficiency显示文摘Raphidiopsis raciborskii can cause harmful cyanobacterial blooms when concentrations of environme ntal pho sphorus(P)are very low,thus the physiological and molecular mechanisms involved in the acclimation to P need to be characterized better.The growth,chlorophyll fluorescence,alkaline phosphatase,and expression of genes directly involved in P assimilation were compared in the R.raciborskii FACHB1496 strain grown with and without inorganic P.The specific growth rate(μ),Chl a,and six fluorescence parameters(minimal fluorescence(F),maximal fluorescence(F),maximal variable fluorescence(F),electron transport flux(further than QA)per RC(ET/RC),quantum yield of the electron transport in PSⅡ(?),and the probability that an electron from a trapped exciton is moved into the electron transport chain beyond Q~-(Ψ))markedly decreased in R.raciborskii in response to experimental P-deficiency.In contrast,the relative variable fluorescence at the J-step(V),trapped energy flux(leading to QA reduction)per RC(TR/RC),and alkaline phosphatase activity significantly increased.In addition,gene expressions involved in the alkaline phosphatase(phoAl and phoA2),high-affinity inorganic P transporter(pstSl),phosphonate transporter and metabolism(phnD and phnM),and nucleotidase(nucH)were significantly upregulated under P deficiency.However,physiological and molecular responses were resumed rapidly after P re-supplementation following P-deficient conditions.Our results highlight that R.raciborskii can perform coordinated and complex cellular and physiological responses to cope with P deficiency,reflecting R.raciborskii’s multi-faceted machinery to respond to environmental P fluctuations. | Junqiong SHI Shuhan HE Lu ZHAO Lulu JI Songqi YANG Zhongxing WU | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,5: | 0 |
