1Cooperative Chloride Hydrogel Electrolytes Enabling Ultralow-Temperature Aqueous Zinc Ion Batteries by the Hofmeister Effect显示文摘Aqueous zinc ion batteries have high potential applicability for energy storage due to their reliable safety,environmental friendliness,and low cost.However,the freezing of aqueous electrolytes limits the normal operation of batteries at low temperatures.Herein,a series of high-performance and low-cost chloride hydrogel electrolytes with high concentrations and low freezing points are developed.The electrochemical windows of the chloride hydrogel electrolytes are enlarged by>1 V under cryogenic conditions due to the obvious evolution of hydrogen bonds,which highly facilitates the operation of electrolytes at ultralow temperatures,as evidenced by the low-temperature Raman spectroscopy and linear scanning voltammetry.Based on the Hofmeister effect,the hydrogen-bond network of the cooperative chloride hydrogel electrolyte comprising 3 M ZnCl_(2)and 6 M LiCl can be strongly interrupted,thus exhibiting a sufficient ionic conductivity of 1.14 mS cm;and a low activation energy of 0.21 e V at-50℃.This superior electrolyte endows a polyaniline/Zn battery with a remarkable discharge specific capacity of 96.5 mAh g;at-50℃,while the capacity retention remains~100%after 2000 cycles.These results will broaden the basic understanding of chloride hydrogel electrolytes and provide new insights into the development of ultralow-temperature aqueous batteries.Changyuan Yan Yangyang Wang Xianyu Deng Yonghang Xu 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,6:3

3Return of investment and profitability analysis of bio-fuels production using a modeling approach显示文摘The objectives of this study were to evaluate the return of investment and profitability of a bio-gasification facility using a modeling method.Based on preliminary market analysis,the results determined that the power facilities driven by biomass gasifiers could be profitable if they consider the most sensitive cost factors such as labor,project investment,and feedstock supply.The result showed that economic feasibility of bio-gasification facility can significantly affect by its production capacity and operating modes(one shift,two shifts,or three shifts).The cost analysis modeling approach developed in this study could be a good approach for economic analysis of bio-syngas and bio-fuel products.In addition,this study demonstrated a unique modeling approach to analyze return of investment and profitability of biofuels production.Yangyang Deng Prem B.Parajuli 2016Information Processing in Agriculture2016,3,2:2
4Chromobox homolog 4 overexpression inhibits TNF-α-induced matrix catabolism and senescence by suppressing activation of NF-κB signaling pathway in nucleus pulposus cells显示文摘Intervertebral disc degeneration(IDD)is featured as enhanced catabolism of extracellular matrix(ECM)in the nucleus pulposus(NP),in which tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)-related cell senescence is involved.Chromobox homolog protein 4(CBX4)exhibits anti-inflammatory effects and shows promising therapeutic potential.Thus,in the present study,we explore the role of CBX4 in IDD.Immunohistochemistry staining reveals that CBX4 expression is decreased in severe degenerative NP tissues compared to mild degenerative tissues,and real-time PCR and western blot analysis results show that CBX4 expression is downregulated under TNF-αstimulation in NP cells.siRNA and adenoviruses are used to knockdown or overexpress CBX4,respectively.The results demonstrate that CBX4 knockdown augments the catabolism of ECM in human NP cells,while CBX4 overexpression in rat NP cells restores the ECM degradation induced by TNF-α,as illustrated by immunofluorescence and western blot analysis.In addition,transcriptome sequencing results reveal the regulatory effect of CBX4 on the cell cycle,and further western blot analysis and senescence-associatedβ-galactosidase staining assay indicate that CBX4 overexpression alleviates cell senescence in the presence of TNF-α.Moreover,the phosphorylation of p65,which indicates the activation of NF-κB signaling,is measured by western blot analysis and immunofluorescence assay,and the results reveal that CBX4 overexpression reduces the TNF-α-induced increase in the p-p65/p65 ratio.In addition,the effect of CBX4 overexpression in NP cells is suppressed by NF-κB agonist.In summary,our results indicate that CBX4 overexpression can suppress TNF-α-induced matrix catabolism and cell senescence in the NP by inhibiting NF-κB activation.This study may provide new approaches for preventing and treating IDD.Yangyang Zhang Shuangxing Li Junmin Hong Jiansen Yan Zhengqi Huang Jiajun Wu Zhihuai Deng Tianyu Qin Kang Xu Wei Ye 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,7:2

10Dynamic Trajectory Planning of Autonomous Lane Change at Medium and Low Speeds Based on Elastic Soft Constraint of the Safety Domain显示文摘Most current research on the trajectory planning of the autonomous lane change focuses on high-speed scenarios and assumes that the states of the surrounding vehicles keep stable during the lane change.The methods based on geometric-curve are mostly used for trajectory planning.In this paper,considering the inevitable development of the autonomous driving,the surrounding vehicles are assumed to be driven by human drivers,while the ego vehicles are able to autonomously change lanes.Representative local lane-change scenarios are then designed and analyzed in detail aiming at medium-and low-speed lane-change conditions.Additionally,in contrast with most research,dynamic trajectory planning which considers the possible state variations of the surrounding vehicles and the driver characteristics is studied and described by a fifth-order polynomial function.The safety and comfort of the dynamic trajectory planning are validated through simulation.Moreover,the elastic soft constraint of the safety domain is designed,whereby the sensitivity of the studied dynamic trajectory planning system is reduced under the premise of ensuring safety.The effectiveness of the elastic soft constraint in terms of improving comfort during the lane change is verified through simulation.The availability of the dynamic trajectory planning system with the elastic soft constraint is demonstrated with the addition of trajectory tracking based on model predictive control,showing its potential in practical applications.Yangyang Wang Ding Pan Hangyun Deng Yuanxing Jiang Zhiguang Liu 2020Automotive Innovation2020,3,1:1
11Cost analysis model for catalytic conversion of syngas in to light hydrocarbon gases显示文摘Bio-gasification is a new technology and considered as a more efficient way to utilize bioenergy.The economic feasibility becomes one of the greatest issues when we apply this new technology.Evaluation of economic feasibility of a bio-gasification facility needs better understanding of its production unit cost under different capacities and different working shift modes.The objective of this study was to evaluate the unit cost of biofuel products(Liquid HCs,Light HCs and Oxygenates CxHyOz)under different capacities using a modeling method.The cost analysis model was developed using Visual Basic Microsoft 2008,computer programming language and mathematical equations.The modeling results showed that the unit costs of biofuel product from bio-gasification facility were significantly affected by production capacities of facilities.As the facility capacity increased from 65 to 10,000 N m^3 h^-1,the biofuel production unit cost of gas(Light HCs),oil(Liquid HCs),and aqueous(Oxygenates CxHyOz)decreased from$38.92 per MMBTU,$30.89 per gallon and$25.74 per gallon to$2.01 per MMBTU,$1.59 per gallon,and$1.33 per gallon,respectively.The results of the sensitivity analysis showed that feedstock cost was the most sensitive cost factor on unit costs for all biofuel products at high capacity.The cost analysis model developed in this study could be used to optimize production unit costs of bio-fuel products from bio-gasification facility.Yangyang Deng Prem B.Parajuli Hakkwan Kim 2015Information Processing in Agriculture2015,2,1:1
12Placebo effect in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer:a meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:The majority of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)cases remain undiagnosed until advanced stages of the disease.Accumulating studies have highlighted the utility of palliative care as an effective treatment option,which relieves patients’suffering by activating placebo effect in the body.To evaluate the clinical significance of palliative care,data from NSCLC drug-randomized controlled trials(RCTs)were collected and the effects of placebo treatment examined.Methods:PubMed(MEDLINE),Scopus,Web of Science,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases were searched from January 1,1978 to September 1,2020.Placebo-controlled phase II/III pharmaceutical RCTs enrolling patients with solely stage III/IV NSCLC were included.The quality of included studies was assessed using the Jadad method.Single-arm and two-arm meta-analyses of the therapeutic and adverse effects of placebo,that is,the primary and secondary outcome measures,were subsequently performed using either Bayesian or conventional models.Results:Five RCTs including 2245 drug-treated and 1510 placebo-treated patients at NSCLC stage III or IV were included for the study.Low risk of bias was observed for all five included studies using the Cochrane method.Following placebo treatment,controlled disease rate of 24.1%(95%credible interval[CrI],-0.126-0.609)and dropout rate of 2.1%(95%CrI,0.007-0.039)were calculated,with a dose reduction rate of 3.0%(95%CrI,0.017-0.045).Compared with active drug treatment,the placebo treatment group had a risk ratio of 0.81(95%confidence interval,0.68-0.97)and 0.85(95%confidence interval,0.76-0.96)for the achievement of progression-free survival and overall survival,respectively.Conclusion:In NSCLC drug RCTs,placebo treatment is indicated to generally induce low toxicity in patients by dropout and dose reduction rates and adverse events,although the therapeutic responses could not be precisely determined.The results suggest that under specific circumstances,palliative care which can activate placebo effect may have similar effects as active drugs(such as erlotinib,vandetanib,or pemetrexed)in terms of prolonging survival time.Siyuan Ren Mengyao Ma Chuan He Yuhui Deng Xiaoyun Chen Yonglin Liu Yangyang Jin Yansong Liu Lei Cai Lin He 2022Journal of Bio-X Research2022,5,3:1

14Effect of additional cylinders on power-extraction performance of a Savonius vertical-axis wind turbine显示文摘To improve the power-extraction performance of the Savonius vertical-axis wind turbine(S-VAWT),additional cylinders,which are used to control the fluid flow around the wind turbine blade,were introduced into the blade design.In contrast to the traditional numerical method,a mathematical model in the form of a dynamical system was used in this study.A numerical calculation program that could effectively solve the equations of wind-induced rotation of S-VAWT was developed,and combined with the Taguchi experimental method to investigate the influence of additional cylinders on the power-extraction characteristics of the S-VAWT.The results showed that the additional cylinders have a significant impact on the power-extraction performance of the S-VAWT.At 4-m/s wind speed,the average power coefficient of the S-VAWT with additional cylinders is 15%higher than that of the conventional S-VAWT.After construction of the wind turbine prototype and power-extraction tests,the results showed that compared with a conventional S-VAWT,the output power was 29%higher for the S-VAWT with additional cylinders under the same particular conditions.Yangyang YAN Jintao ZHANG Junao SHE Wenhao LIU Jianghong DENG Jianyang ZHU 2023Journal of Zhejiang University-Science A(Applied Physics & Engineering)2023,24,6:0

17Impact of greenhouse gas CO_(2) on the heterogeneous reaction of SO_(2) on alpha-Al_(2)O_(3)显示文摘The heterogeneous reaction of SO_(2) on mineral dust surfaces is generally considered as an important chemical pathway for secondary sulfate formation in the troposphere.To this day,there are no reported studies that assess the impact of atmospheric CO_(2) in sulfate production on mineral dust surfaces.In this work,we investigate the impact of CO_(2) on SO_(2) uptake on dust proxy aluminum oxide particles using a diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS).CO_(2) is demonstrated to suppress the heterogeneous oxidation of SO_(2) on alpha-Al2 O_(3).Compared to that measured in the CO_(2)-free case,the uptake coefficient is decreased by nearly 57%when Al_(2)O_(3) particles are exposed to the gas flow with atmospheric CO_(2) at a relative humidity(RH)of 25%.It is also found that there is a balance between the yield of active moiety-OH provided by AI(OH)3(CO)(OH)2 clusters and the loss of basic hydroxyl group on aluminum oxide surfaces blocked by CO_(2)-derived(bi)carbonate species.This work,for the first time,reveals a negative effect of atmospheric CO_(2) on the sulfate formation,which potentially decreases solarradiation scattering and further exacerbates global warming.Yangyang Liu Tao Wang Xiaozhong Fang Yue Deng Hanyun Cheng Hongbo Fu Liwu Zhang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:0
18Comparison of different grafting methods on the effect of‘Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus'transmission显示文摘Grafting is a commonly used method for citrus propagation and transmitting'Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus'(CLas),the putative causing agent of citrus Huanglongbing(HLB).Optimization of the grafting inoculation methods facilitates the material preparation in HLB research.Citrus buds with CLas were grafted onto healthy sour tangerine(Citrus sunki Hort.ex Tanaka)seedlings by different methods such as top grafting(‘T'grafting and‘V'grafting)and side grafting(abdominal grafting).Along with the symptom observation,titers of CLas in the leaves were detected by RTqPCR monthly.The correlation between the growth status of buds or different grafting methods and the success rate of HLB transmission were analyzed.Our results suggest that sufficient DNA could be extracted to accurately detect the CLas from even only 0.0125 g leaf midrib or branch bark.The probability of CLas transmission was higher in plants inoculated with buds in better growth conditions.The success rate of‘T'grafting was significantly higher than that of side grafting and‘V'grafting.Additionally,in terms of HLB transmission efficiency,the two-bud grafting scheme was superior to the single-bud and three-bud grafting schemes.In conclusion,the grafting combinations with the highest HLB transmission efficiency were screened to provide a methodological reference for the practice or research of grafting to obtain plant material.Xiaoqing Cui Jingtian Zhang Yangyang Liu Xiaoling Luo Xiaoling Deng Sumiao Zhang Meirong Xu 2022Fruit Research2022,2,1:0

20Study on crowd evacuation in subway transfer station fires based on numerical simulation显示文摘In order to study the influencing factors of fire evacuation bottlenecks and evacuation time in subway transfer stations,a subway transfer station model was built using Pathfinder to simulate the emergency evacuation of passengers in a fire.Using the control variable method,the evacuation under different conditions is simulated by changing the parameters.The effects of the use of escalators,the speed of escalators,preference for stairs and escalators,the use of escalators,the familiarity of exits,the speed of personnel movement and the width of stairs on evacuation time are discussed and analyzed.The results show that the fire evacuation bottlenecks of subway transfer stations is each stair entrance.Evacuation time can be shortened by increasing the speed of escalators,increasing the proportion of escalator walkers,reducing the proportion of passengers who choose familiar exits to escape,increasing the speed of passengers and increasing the width of stairs.Feng Du Qian Zhang Kai Wang Weilong Cui Yangyang Guo Yun Deng 2022Emergency Management Science and Technology2022,2,1:0
