| 1 | Tiller Bud Formation Regulators MOC1 and MOC3 Cooperatively Promote Tiller Bud Outgrowth by Activating F0N1 Expression in Rice显示文摘Tillering in rice is one of the most important agronomic traits.Rice tiller development can be divided into two main processes: the formation of the axillary bud and its subsequent outgrowth.Several genes critical for bud formation in rice have been identified by genetic studies;however,their molecular functions and relationships are still largely unknown.Here,we report that MONOCULM 1 (MOC1) and MONOCULM 3/ TILLERS ABSENT 1/STERILE AND REDUCED TILLERING 1 (MOC3/TAB1/SRT1),two vital regulators for tiller formation in rice,physically interact to regulate tiller bud outgrowth through upregulating the expression of FLORAL ORGAN NUMBER 1 (FON1),the homolog of CLAVATA1 in rice.We found that M0C3 is able to directly bind the promoter ofFONI and subsequently activate FON1 expression.MOC1 functions as a coactivator of MOC3,whereas it could not directly bind the FON1 promoter,and further activated FON1 expression in the presence of MOC3.Accordingly,FON1 is highly expressed at axillary meristems and shows remarkably decreased expression levels in mod and moc3 mutants.Loss-of-function mutants of FON1 exhibit normal bud formation but defective bud outgrowth and reduced tiller number.Collectively,these results shed light on a joint transcriptional regulatory mechanim by MOC1 and MOC3,and establish a new framework for the control of tiller bud formation and outgrowth. | Gaoneng Shao Zefu Lu Jinsong Xiong Bing Wang Yanhui Jing Xiangbing Meng Guifu Liu Haiyan Ma Yan Liang Fan Chen Yonghong Wang Jiayang Li Hong Yu | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,8: | 15 |

| 3 | Origins and pathways of the subsurface and intermediate water masses of the Indonesian Throughflow derived from historical and Argo data显示文摘On the basis of Argo data and historic temperature/salinity data from the World Ocean Database 2001(WOD01),origins and spreading pathways of the subsurface and intermediate water masses in the Indonesian Throughflow(ITF)region were discussed by analyzing distributions of salinity on representative isopycnal layers.Results were shown that,subsurface water mostly comes from the North Pacific Ocean while the intermediate water originates from both the North and South Pacific Ocean,even possibly from the Indian Ocean.Spreading through the Sulawesi Sea,the Makassar Strait,and the Flores Sea,the North Pacific subsurface water and the North Pacific Intermediate water dominate the western part of the Indonesian Archipelago.Furthermore as the depth increases,the features of the North Pacific sourced water masses become more obvious.In the eastern part of the waters,high salinity South Pacific subsurface water is blocked by a strong salinity front between Halmahera and New Guinea.Intermediate water in the eastern interior region owns salinity higher than the North Pacific intermediate water and the antarctic intermediate water(AAIW),possibly coming from the vertical mixing between subsurface water and the AAIW from the Pacific Ocean,and possibly coming from the northward extending of the AAIW from the Indian Ocean as well. | ZHANG Yanhui YU Xiaolin WANG Fan | 2008 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2008,27,4: | 4 |

| 6 | Whole-genome sequencing of monozygotic twins discordant for schizophrenia indicates multiple genetic risk factors for schizophrenia显示文摘Schizophrenia is a common disorder with a high heritability, but its genetic architecture is still elusive.We implemented whole-genome sequencing(WGS) analysis of 8 families with monozygotic(MZ) twin pairs discordant for schizophrenia to assess potential association of de novo mutations(DNMs) or inherited variants with susceptibility to schizophrenia. Eight non-synonymous DNMs(including one splicing site) were identified and shared by twins, which were either located in previously reported schizophrenia risk genes(p.V24689 I mutation in TTN, p.S2506 T mutation in GCN1L1, IVS3+1G > T in DOCK1) or had a benign to damaging effect according to in silico prediction analysis. By searching the inherited rare damaging or loss-of-function(LOF) variants and common susceptible alleles from three classes of schizophrenia candidate genes, we were able to distill genetic alterations in several schizophrenia risk genes, including GAD1, PLXNA2, RELN and FEZ1. Four inherited copy number variations(CNVs; including a large deletion at 16p13.11) implicated for schizophrenia were identified in four families, respectively. Most of families carried both missense DNMs and inherited risk variants, which might suggest that DNMs, inherited rare damaging variants and common risk alleles together conferred to schizophrenia susceptibility. | 7 | Performance improvement of optimization solutions by POD-based data mining显示文摘The performance of an optimized aerodynamic shape is further improved by a second-step optimization using the design knowledge discovered by a data mining technique based on Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD) in the present study. Data generated in the first-step optimization by using evolution algorithms is saved as the source data, among which the superior data with improved objectives and maintained constraints is chosen. Only the geometry components of the superior data are picked out and used for constructing the snapshots of POD. Geometry characteristics of the superior data illustrated by POD bases are the design knowledge, by which the second-step optimization can be rapidly achieved. The optimization methods are demonstrated by redesigning a transonic compressor rotor blade, NASA Rotor 37, in the study to maximize the peak adiabatic efficiency, while maintaining the total pressure ratio and mass flow rate.Firstly, the blade is redesigned by using a particle swarm optimization method, and the adiabatic efficiency is increased by 1.29%. Then, the second-step optimization is performed by using the design knowledge, and a 0.25% gain on the adiabatic efficiency is obtained. The results are presented and addressed in detail, demonstrating that geometry variations significantly change the pattern and strength of the shock wave in the blade passage. | 9 | The entropy characters of point mutation显示文摘The biological diversity, which depends on the genetic material DNA, is the foundation for a species to survive and evolve. The entropy is the best measurement of biological diversity. Based on the sin-gle-parameter and the two-parameter models, here we established some differential equations about the point mutation of a DNA sequence with finite length, as well as some functions describing the processes of the variation in quantities of 4 kinds of bases (A, T, G and C) in the DNA sequence. At the molecular level, we discussed the entropy characteristics of point mutation. The results proved that a species maintained its entropy and evolved in the direction of the increasing biological diversity. In order to testify the theoretical results, we did a series of computer simulations of random point muta- tion in Matlab environment. | 12 | Tuning redox activity through delithiation induced protective layer and Fe-O coordination for Li-rich cathode with improved voltage and cycle performance显示文摘Li-rich layered transition metal oxides are one of the most promising cathode materials for their high energy density.However,the cathodes usually suffer from severe potential dropping and capacity fading during cycling,which are associated with the surface oxygen release and accompanied by cation densification and structural collapse.Herein,an integrative approach of simultaneous constructing uniform 3d Fe-ion doping in the transition metal layer and Li-rich Li_(5)FeO_(4) shell to grab the oxygen and prevent interfacial side reactions is proposed.The introduction of Fe induces higher redox potential and stronger 3 d Fe-O_(2)p covalent bond,triggering reversible anionic redox via a reductive coupling mechanism.And the delithiated product of Li-rich Li_(5)FeO_(4) not only acts as a protective layer alleviating the side reactions but also enhances the surface kinetic property.With the benefit of promoted reversibility of oxygen redox and enhanced surface stability,the cathode exhibits high reversible capacity and superior cycle performance.Density function theory calculation indicates that the O_(2)p non-bonding state in the cathode incorporated with Fe sits at a lower energy band,resulting in higher energy storage voltage and improved oxygen stability.Consequently,the modified cathode exhibits a discharge specific capacity of 307 m A h g^(-1)(1 C=250 m A g^(-1)),coulombic efficiency of 82.09%in the initial cycle at 0.1 C and 88.34%capacity retention after 100 cycles at 1 C.The work illustrates a strategy that could simultaneously enhance oxygen redox reversibility and interface stability by constructing lattice bond coordination and delithiation induced protective layer to develop Li-rich materials with high reversible capacity and long lifespan. | Kanghui Hu Li Ren Weifeng Fan Bing Zhang Meihua Zuo Yanhui Zhang Genpin Lv Huiyuan Xu Wei Xiang Xiaodong Guo | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,8: | 1 |

| 14 | Study on the Purification Effect of Phosphorus in Sewage from Sediments in Coastal Wetland of Yellow River Delta显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore whether the coastal wetlands in the Yellow River Delta have become secondary pollution sources. [Methods] With a coastal reed wetland in the Yellow River Delta as a research object, the SMT method and DGT technology were combined to study the vertical distribution of different forms of phosphorus in the sediment and the distribution characteristics of phosphorus at the sediment-interstitial/overlying water interface of the wetland to clarify the receiving and purification capabilities of wetlands in this region. [Results] The total phosphorus content in the wetland’s water intake area, dense reed area and water outlet area increased with the depth increasing;and the wetland phosphorus accumulated in the deep layer, and the total phosphorus content in the wetland sediments was as high as 936.30 mg/kg. The research on the phosphorus forms in the wetland sediments found that the content of Ca phosphorus was the highest in the wetland sediments, followed by the content of Fe/Al-bonded phosphorus, and the exchangeable phosphorus content was the lowest. The DGT sampling technology was used to investigate the distribution characteristics of phosphorus at wetland sediment-interstitial/overlying water micro-interface. It was found that the concentrations of phosphorus in the overlying water of the water intake area, dense reed area and water outlet area were significantly higher than that in the interstitial water. The wetland pollution level in this research area was high and had an obvious cumulative effect. | 18 | ENO1 expression and Erk phosphorylation in PDAC and their effects on tumor cell apoptosis in a hypoxic microenvironment显示文摘Objective: Hypoxia is an important feature of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC). Previously, we found that hypoxia promotes ENO1 expression and PDAC invasion. However, the underlying molecular mechanism was remains unclear.Methods: The relationship between ENO1 expression and clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed in 84 patients with PADC. The effects of CoCl2-induced hypoxia and ENO1 downregulation on the apoptosis, invasion, and proliferation of PDAC cells were evaluated in vitro and in vivo. Hypoxia-and ENO1-induced gene expression was analyzed by transcriptomic sequencing.Results: The prognosis of PDAC with high ENO1 expression was poor(P < 0.05). High ENO1 expression was closely associated with histological differentiation and tumor invasion in 84 PDAC cases(P < 0.05). Hypoxia increased ENO1 expression in PDAC and promoted its migration and invasion. Apoptotic cells and the apoptosis marker caspase-3 in the CoCl_(2)-treated ENO1-sh group were significantly elevated(P < 0.05). Transcriptomic sequencing indicated that CoCl_(2)-induced PDAC cells initiated MAPK signaling. Under hypoxic conditions, PDAC cells upregulated ENO1 expression, thereby accelerating ERK phosphorylation and inhibiting apoptosis(P < 0.05). Consistent results were also observed in a PDAC-bearing mouse hindlimb ischemia model.Conclusions: Hypoxia-induced ENO1 expression promotes ERK phosphorylation and inhibits apoptosis, thus leading to PDAC survival and invasion. | 19 | The rates and patterns of insertions, deletions and substitutions in mouse and rat inferred from introns显示文摘The rates and patterns of InDel (insertions and deletions) and substitution in rodent (mouse and rat) have been studied. The result reveals that deletions occur more frequently than insertions, and single nucleotide insertion and deletion are the most frequent in both mouse and rat. The frequencies of both deletions and insertions decrease rapidly with increasing InDels length, and the size distributions of both insertions and deletions can be described well by power-law. There are more AT→GC than GC→ AT substitutions in the introns of rat. However, there are more GC→AT than AT→GC substitutions in the introns in mouse. The deletion bias found in introns in mouse and rat supports the prediction that in- tron insertions are more deleterious than deletions because of reduced transcription and splicing effi- ciency. | 20 | The plasmodesmata-associated β-1,3-glucanase gene GhPdBG regulates fiber development in cotton显示文摘Trichomes are specialized structures that originate from epidermal cells of organs in higher plants.The cotton fiber is a unique single-celled trichome that elongates from the seed coat epidermis.Cotton(Gossypium hirsutum)fibers and trichomes are models for cell differentiation.In an attempt to elucidate the intercellular factors that regulate fiber and trichome cell development,we identified a plasmodesmal β-1,3-glucanase gene(designated GhPdBG)controlling the opening and closing of plasmodesmata in cotton fibers.Structural and evolutionary analysis showed haplotypic variation in the promoter region of the GhPdBG gene among 352 cotton accessions,but high conservation in the coding region.GhPdBG was expressed predominantly in cotton fibers and localized to plasmodesmata(PD).Expression patterns of PdBG that corresponded to PD permeability were apparent during fiber development in G.hirsutum and G.barbadense.The PdBG-mediated opening-closure of PD appears to be involved in fiber development and may account for the contrasting fiber traits of these two species.Ectopic expression of GhPdBG revealed that it functions in regulating fiber and trichome length and/or density by modulating plasmodesmatal permeability.This finding suggests that plasmodesmal targeting of GhPdBG,as a switch of intercellular channels,regulates single-celled fiber and trichome development in cotton. | Yijie Fan Shuangshuang Lin Yanhui Lyu Haihong Shang Youlu Yuan Zhengmin Tang Chengzhi Jiao Aiyun Chen Piyi Xing Li Zhang Yuxiao Sun Haixia Guo Tongtong Li Zhonghai Ren Fanchang Zeng | 2023 | The Crop Journal2023,11,6: | 0 |
