1Effects of electroacupuncture and Chinese kidney-nourishing medicine on polycystic ovary syndrome in obese patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of electroacupuncture and Chinese kidney-nourishing medicine on insulin (INS), adiponectin (APN), leptin (LEP), and glucolipid metabolism of obese patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). METHODS: Sixty-seven obese PCOS patients were randomly divided into two groups. Thirty-three patients in the acupuncture-medicine group were treated three times a week with electroacupuncture at the Tianshu (ST 25), Zhongwan (CV 12), Qihai (CV 6), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Geshu (BL 17), and Cil-iao (BL 32) acupoints. They also took the Chinese drug, Tiankui capsule, for 3 months as a course of treatment. Point-taking and treatment in the electroacupuncture group of 34 patients was the same as those in the acupuncture-medicine group. We observed and compared the changes in the obesity-related indexes of body weight (BW), body mass index (BMI), and waist-hip ratio (WHR), as well as fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin (FINS), APN, and LEP. RESULTS: BW, BMI, WHR, and FINS decreased and insulin sensitivity index (ISI) and APN were higher in the acupuncture-medicine group than in the electroacupuncture group (P<0.01). There was no obvious difference in LEP between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Acupuncture combined with medicine is better than just electroacupuncture for obese PCOS patients by improving obesity-related indexes, insulin sensitivity, and APN level. 2Functional assembly of root-associated microbial consortia improves nutrient efficiency and yield in soybean显示文摘Root-associated microbes are critical for plant growth and nutrient acquisition. However, scant information exists on optimizing communities of beneficial root-associated microbes or the mechanisms underlying their interactions with host plants. In this report, we demonstrate that rootassociated microbes are critical influencers of host plant growth and nutrient acquisition. Three synthetic communities(SynComs) were constructed based on functional screening of 1,893 microbial strains isolated from root-associated compartments of soybean plants. Functional assemblage of SynComs promoted significant plant growth and nutrient acquisition under both N/P nutrient deficiency and sufficiency conditions.Field trials further revealed that application of SynComs stably and significantly promoted plant growth, facilitated N and P acquisition, and subsequently increased soybean yield. Among the tested communities, SynCom1 exhibited the greatest promotion effect, with yield increases of up to 36.1% observed in two field sites. Further RNA-seq implied that SynCom application systemically regulates N and P signaling networks at the transcriptional level, which leads to increased representation of important growth pathways, especially those related to auxin responses. 3Early Paleozoic Granulite-Facies Metamorphism and Magmatism in the Northern Wulan Terrane of the Quanji Massif:Implications for the Evolution of the Proto-Tethys Ocean in Northwestern China显示文摘The nature and evolution of the Proto-Tethys Ocean originated from the breakup of the supercontinent Rodinia remain controversial. Early Paleozoic magmatism and metamorphism can provide important constraints on the closure of the Proto-Tethys Ocean. This paper reports on a set of geological, petrographical, geochronological, mineralogical and geochemical data for Early Paleozoic granite, gabbro, granulite and granitic leucosome in the northern Wulan terrane of the Quanji Massif. Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating reveals two episodes of magmatism, with the emplacement of a granitic pluton at 476.7±2.8 Ma and a gabbroic dike at 423±2 Ma. Whole-rock geochemistry suggests an arc affinity for the magma of the granitic pluton but a post-collisional extension setting for the gabbroic dike. Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating also shows that the peak granulite-facies metamorphism and anatexis occurred at ~475 Ma, coeval with the formation of the granitic pluton in the Quanji Massif as well as the early lawsonite-bearing eclogites in the North Qaidam high-pressure and ultrahigh-pressure(HP-UHP) metamorphic belt to the south. The granulite-facies metamorphism with peak P-T conditions at 718–729 ℃ and 0.46–0.53 GPa is characterized by an anticlockwise P-T path. Our data provide compelling evidence for Early Paleozoic paired metamorphic belts with HP-UHP metamorphism in the North Qaidam to the south and low P/T metamorphism in the Quanji Massif as a continental arc to the north, hence suggesting a northward subduction polarity for the Proto-Tethys oceanic plate. 4HvWRKY2 acts as an immunity suppressor and targets HvCEBiP to regulate powdery mildew resistance in barley显示文摘Plants use a sophisticated immune system to perceive pathogen infection and activate immune responses in a tightly controlled manner.In barley,Hv WRKY2 acts as a repressor in barley disease resistance to the powdery mildew fungus,Blumeria graminis f.sp.hordei(Bgh).However,the molecular features of Hv WRKY2 in its DNA-binding and repressor functions,as well as its target genes,are uncharacterized.We show that the W-box binding of Hv WRKY2 requires an intact WRKY domain and an upstream sequence of~75 amino acids,and the Hv WRKY2 W-box binding activity is linked to its repressor function in disease resistance.Chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP)-seq analysis identified HvCEBiP,a putative chitin receptor gene,as a target gene of Hv WRKY2 in overexpressing transgenic barley plants.ChIP-qPCR and Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay(EMSA)verified the direct binding of Hv WRKY2 to a W-boxcontaining sequence in the HvCEBiP promoter.Hv CEBiP positively regulates resistance against Bgh in barley.Our findings suggest that Hv WRKY2 represses barley basal immunity by directly targeting pathogen-associated molecular pattern(PAMP)recognition receptor genes,suggesting that Hv CEBiP and likely chitin signaling function in barley PAMP-triggered immune responses to Bgh infection.Deshui Yu Renchun Fan Ling Zhang Pengya Xue Libing Liao Meizhen Hu Yanjun Cheng Jine Li Ting Qi Shaojuan Jing Qiuyun Wang Arvind Bhatt Qian-Hua Shen 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,1:1
5Genome-wide identification and transcriptional profiling analysis of PIN/PILS auxin transporter gene families in Panax ginseng显示文摘Objective:Plant hormones act as chemical messengers in the regulation of plant development and metabolism.The production of ginsenosides in Panax hybrid is promoted by auxins that are transported and accumulated by PIN-FORMED(PIN)and PIN-LIKES(PILS)auxin transporters.However,genome-wide studies of PIN/PILS of ginseng are still scarce.In current study,identification and transcriptional profiling of PIN/PILS gene families,as well as their potential relationship with ginsenoside biosynthesis in Panax ginseng were investigated.Methods:PIN/PILS genes in P.ginseng was identified via in silico genome-wide analysis,followed by phylogenetic relationships,gene structure,and protein profiles investigation.Moreover,previously reported RNA-sequence data from various tissues and roots after infection were utilized for PIN/PILS genes expression pattern analysis.The Pearson’s correlation analysis of specific PIN/PILS genes expression level and main ginsenoside contents were taken to reveal the potential relationship between auxin transports and ginsenoside biosynthesis in P.ginseng.Results:A genome-wide search of P.ginseng genome for homologous auxin transporter genes identified a total of 17 PIN and 11 PILS genes.Sequence alignment,putative motif organization,and sub-cellular localization indicated redundant and complementary biological functions of these PIN/PILS genes.Most PIN/PILS genes were differentially expressed in a tissue-specific manner,and showed significant correlations with ginsenoside content correspondingly.Eight auxin transporter genes,including both PIN and PILS subfamily members,were positively correlated with ginsenoside content(cor>0.60;P-value<0.05).The expression levels of eleven auxin transporter genes were increased dramatically in the early stage(0–0.5 DPI)after Cylindrocarpon destructans infection,accompanied with various overall expression patterns,implying the dynamic auxin transport in response to biotic stress.Conclusion:Based on the results,we speculate that the accumulation or depletion in temporal or spatial manner of auxin by PIN/PILS transporters involved in the regulation of HMGR activity and subsequent ginsenoside biosynthesis.Shuiming Xiao Yang Chu Yanjun Chen Qinghe Zhao Baosheng Liao Jingjing Zhang Yuan Gao Jiang Xu Shilin Chen 2022Chinese Herbal Medicines2022,14,1:1
6Perovskite/GaAs-nanowire hybrid structure photodetectors with ultrafast multiband response enhancement by band engineering显示文摘We developed a hybrid structure photodetector combining one-dimensional(1D)inorganic GaAs nanowires and two-dimensional(2D)organic perovskite materials,which can achieve various performance enhancements using a relatively simple structure.Via the optical absorption enhancement of perovskite and the type-II energy band structure formed by the heterostructure,the responsivity and detectivity of the photodetector from ultraviolet(UV)to visible(Vis)wavelengths are significantly enhanced,reaching 75 A/W and 1.49×10^(11)Jones,respectively.The response time of the photodetector was significantly decreased by 3 orders,from 785 ms to 0.5 ms,and the dark current was further reduced to 237 fA.A photodetector was prepared with enhanced responsivity and ultrafast response time in the multiband region from the UV to Vis wavelength.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first time to combine inorganicⅢ-ⅤGaAs nanomaterials with organic perovskite materials,which verifies the effective combination of inorganic and organic materials in a mixed dimension.The excellent photoelectric performance of the perovskite/GaAs-nanowire hybrid structure photodetector makes it a potential candidate material for a wide range of photoelectric applications such as multiband photodetection.XIAOBING HOU XITONG HONG FENGYUAN LIN JINZHI CUI QIAN DAI QIANLEI TIAN BINGHENG MENG YANJUN LIU JILONG TANG KEXUE LI LEI LIAO ZHIPENG WEI 2023Photonics Research2023,11,4:0

8Off-grid DOA estimation via a deep learning framework显示文摘Direction-of-arrival(DOA)estimation problem is one of the most important tasks for array signal processing.Conventional methods are limited by either the computational complexity or the resolution.In this paper,a novel deep learning(DL)framework for super-resolution DOA estimation is developed,where the grid mismatch problem is fully considered into the DL DOA estimation and the offset between the real DOA and the discrete sampling grid is thereby trained as a part of the network output.Specifically,we first model the DOA estimation problem as a multi-classification task and obtain the on-grid estimation result with a resolution of 1°as the first output.Then we designed another regression module to estimate the offset between target angles and the corresponding grids.By combining both on-grid and offset estimation results,the accurate off-grid estimation is achieved.In addition,the method of fusing low-level features and high-level features by skip connection is adopted between the on-grid estimation module and the offset estimation module.The high-level features in the first part of the network are combined with the original input to improve the training speed and the estimation accuracy.Herein,our training dataset contains a large number of off-grid signal data,which is close to the practical application.Also,the utilization of the off-grid part information improves DOA estimation performance compared to existing DL-based methods,achieving more accurate DOA estimations.Numerous simulation results have demonstrated the superiority of the proposed method in DOA estimation precision,and a good performance advantage maintains even when using a limited number of snapshots.Further,we test the proposed method on the real millimeter-wave radar system,and it outperforms the other state-of-the-art methods,especially for two adjacent targets in the same range and Doppler bin.Yan HUANG Yanjun ZHANG Jun TAO Cai WEN Guisheng LIAO Wei HONG 2023Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,12:0

10In-orbit performance of ME onboard Insight-HXMT in the first 5 years显示文摘Introduction The medium-energy X-ray telescope(ME)is a collimated X-ray telescope onboard the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT)satellite.It has 1728 Si-PIN pixels readout using 54 low noise application-specific integrated circuits(ASICs).ME covers the energy range of 5–30 keV and has a total detection area of 952cm2.The typical energy resolution of ME at the beginning of the mission is 3 keV at 17.8 keV(full width at half maximum,FWHM),and the time resolution is 255μs.In this study,we present the in-orbit performance of ME in its first 5 years of operation.Methods The performance of ME was monitored using onboard radioactive sources and astronomical X-ray objects.ME carries six 241Am radioactive sources for onboard calibration,which can continuously illuminate the calibration pixels.The long-term performance evolution of ME can be quantified using the properties of the accumulated spectra of the calibration pixels.In addition,observations of the Crab Nebula and the pulsar were used to check the long-term evolution of the detection efficiency as a function of energy.Conclusion After 5 years of operation,742cm2 of the Si-PIN pixelswere stillworking normally.The peak positions of 241Am emission lines gradually shifted to the high-energy region,implying a slow increase in ME gain of 1.43%.A comparison of the ME spectra of the Crab Nebula and the pulsar shows that the E–C relations and the redistribution matrix file are still acceptable for most data analysis works,and there is no detectable variation in the detection efficiency.Ying Tan Xuelei Cao Weichun Jiang Xiaobo Li Bin Meng Wanchang Zhang Sheng Yang Tao Luo Yudong Gu Liang Sun Xiaojing Liu Yuanyuan Du Jiawei Yang Yanjun Xu Jinyuan Liao Yupeng Xu Fangjun Lu Liming Song Shuangnan Zhang 2023Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2023,7,1:0
