| 1 | Mechanism and kinetics study on removal of Iron from phosphoric acid by cation exchange resin显示文摘Iron element is one of the main impurities in wet-process phosphoric acid and it has a significant impact on the subsequent phosphorus chemical products. This paper studied the feasibility of using Sinco-430 cation exchange resin for iron removal from phosphoric acid. The specific surface area and the total exchange capacity of resin were 8.91 m2·g-1 and 5.18 mmol·g-1, respectively. The sorption mechanism was determined by FTIR and XPS and the results indicated that iron was combined with-SO3 H in resin. The removal process was studied as a function of temperature, H3 PO4 content and mass ratio between resin and solution. The unit mass of resin to remove iron was 0.058 g·g-1 resin when the operating parameters were T = 50 ℃, H3 PO4 content = 27.61 wt%and S/L = 0.1, respectively. Kinetics study demonstrated that pseudo-second-order reaction model fits this study best and the calculated activation energy of overall reaction is 29.10 kJ·mol-1. | 2 | Wide river or narrow river:Future river training strategy for Lower Yellow River under global change显示文摘The choice of a river training strategy is extremely important for the Lower Yellow River(LYR). Currently,the wide-river training strategy applies in the training of the LYR. However, remarkable changes in the hydrological processes in the Yellow River basin, as well as immediate pressure from socio-economic development in the Yellow River basin, make it necessary to consider if there is a possibility to change the river training strategy from wide-river training to narrow-river training. This research investigates the impacts of different river training strategies on the LYR through numerical simulations. A onedimensional(1-D) model was used to simulate the fluvial processes for the future 50 years and a threedimensional(3-D) model was applied to study typical floods. The study focused on river morphology, the results show that if the present decreasing trend in both water discharge and sediment load persists, the deposition rate in the LYR will further decrease no matter what strategy is applied. Especially, narrowriver training can achieve the aim to increase the sediment transport capacity in the LYR compared with wide-river training. However, if the incoming water and sediment load recovers to the mean level of the last century, main channel shrinkage due to sedimentation inevitably occurs for both wide-river and narrow-river training. Most importantly, this study shows that narrow-river training reduces the deposition amount over the whole LYR, but it provides little help in alleviating the development of the'suspended river'. Instead, narrow-river training can cause aggradation in the transitional reach where the river pattern changes from highly wandering to meandering, further worsening the 'hump deposition' there. | 4 | Functional assembly of root-associated microbial consortia improves nutrient efficiency and yield in soybean显示文摘Root-associated microbes are critical for plant growth and nutrient acquisition. However, scant information exists on optimizing communities of beneficial root-associated microbes or the mechanisms underlying their interactions with host plants. In this report, we demonstrate that rootassociated microbes are critical influencers of host plant growth and nutrient acquisition. Three synthetic communities(SynComs) were constructed based on functional screening of 1,893 microbial strains isolated from root-associated compartments of soybean plants. Functional assemblage of SynComs promoted significant plant growth and nutrient acquisition under both N/P nutrient deficiency and sufficiency conditions.Field trials further revealed that application of SynComs stably and significantly promoted plant growth, facilitated N and P acquisition, and subsequently increased soybean yield. Among the tested communities, SynCom1 exhibited the greatest promotion effect, with yield increases of up to 36.1% observed in two field sites. Further RNA-seq implied that SynCom application systemically regulates N and P signaling networks at the transcriptional level, which leads to increased representation of important growth pathways, especially those related to auxin responses. | 5 | Patient-derived non-small cell lung cancer xenograft mirrors complex tumor heterogeneity显示文摘Objective:Patient-derived xenograft(PDX)models have shown great promise in preclinical and translational applications,but their consistency with primary tumors in phenotypic,genetic,and pharmacodynamic heterogeneity has not been well-studied.This study aimed to establish a PDX repository for non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and to further elucidate whether it could preserve the heterogeneity within and between tumors in patients.Methods:A total of 75 surgically resected NSCLC specimens were implanted into immunodeficient NOD/SCID mice.Based on the successful establishment of the NSCLC PDX model,we compared the expressions of vimentin,Ki67,EGFR,and PD-L1 proteins between cancer tissues and PDX models using hematoxylin and eosin staining and immunohistochemical staining.In addition,we detected whole gene expression profiling between primary tumors and PDX generations.We also performed whole exome sequencing(WES)analysis in 17 first generation xenografts to further assess whether PDXs retained the patient heterogeneities.Finally,paclitaxel,cisplatin,doxorubicin,atezolizumab,afatininb,and AZD4547 were used to evaluate the responses of PDX models to the standard-of-care agents.Results:A large collection of serially transplantable PDX models for NSCLC were successfully developed.The histology and pathological immunohistochemistry of PDX xenografts were consistent with the patients’tumor samples.WES and RNA-seq further confirmed that PDX accurately replicated the molecular heterogeneities of primary tumors.Similar to clinical patients,PDX models responded differentially to the standard-of-care treatment,including chemo-,targeted-and immuno-therapeutics.Conclusions:Our established PDX models of NSCLC faithfully reproduced the molecular,histopathological,and therapeutic characteristics,as well as the corresponding tumor heterogeneities,which provides a clinically relevant platform for drug screening,biomarker discovery,and translational research. | Xuanming Chen Cheng Shen Zhe Wei Rui Zhang Yongsheng Wang Lili Jiang Ke Chen Shuang Qiu Yuanli Zhang Ting Zhang Bin Chen Yanjun Xu Qiyi Feng Jinxing Huang Zhihui Zhong Hongxia Li Guowei Che Kai Xiao | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1: | 5 |
| 6 | Microstructure Characteristics and Apparent Viscosity of Hypereutectic Al-24%Si Alloy Melt During Semi-solid State Stirring显示文摘The microstructural evolution and apparent viscosity of hypereutectic Al-24%Si alloy during semi-solid state shearing were studied with a Searte type viscometer. When the alloy melt was continuously stirred from 720℃ to eutectic temperature, the primary Si crystals were gradually changed from elongated platelets to near-spherical shapes. It was found that some nondendritic a-phase formed when the melt was stirred below 585℃. The experiment showed that the semi-solid stirring had strong effect on inhibiting the anisotropic growth of Si crystals during solidification. | 7 | Adsorption equilibrium and kinetics studies of divalent manganese from phosphoric acid solution by using cationic exchange resin显示文摘There are numerous impurities in wet-process phosphoric acid,among which manganese is one of detrimental metallic impurities,and it causes striking negative effects on the industrial phosphoric acid production and downstream commodity.This article investigated the adsorption behavior of manganese from phosphoric acid employing Sinco-430 cationic ion-exchange resin.Resorting FT-IR and XPS characterizations,the adsorption mechanism was proved to be that manganese was combined with sulfonic acid group.Several crucial parameters such as temperature,phosphoric acid content and resin dose were studied to optimize adsorption efficiency.Through optimization,removal percentage and sorption capacity of manganese reached 53.12 wt%,28.34 mg·g^-1,respectively.Pseudo-2nd-order kinetic model simulated kinetics data best and the activation energy was evaluated as 6.34 kJ·mol^-1 for the sorption reaction of manganese.In addition,the global adsorption rate was first controlled by film diffusion process and second determined by pore diffusion process.It was found that the resin could adsorb up to 50.24 mg·g^-1 for manganese.Equilibrium studies showed that Toth adsorption isotherm model fitted best,followed by Temkin and Langmuir adsorption isotherm models.Thermodynamic analysis showed that manganese adsorption was an endothermic process with enhanced randomness and spontaneity. | Haibo Zhuang Yanjun Zhong Lin Yang | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,11: | 3 |

| 11 | Using trace elements of magnetite to constrain the origin of the Pingchuan hydrothermal low-Ti magnetite deposit in the Panxi area, SW China显示文摘The Pingchuan iron deposit, located in the Yanyuan region of Sichuan Province, SW China, has an ore reserve of 40 Mt with ~60 wt% Fe. Its genesis is still poorly understood. The Pingchuan iron deposit has a paragenetic sequence of an early Fe-oxide–Pyrite stage(Ⅰ) and a late Fe-oxide–pyrrhotite stage(Ⅱ). Stage Ⅰ magnetite grains are generally fragmented, euhedral–subhedral, largesized crystals accompanying with slightly postdated pyrite.Stage Ⅱ magnetite grains are mostly unfragmented, anhedral, relatively small-sized grains that co-exist with pyrrhotite. Combined with micro-textural features and previously-obtained geochronological data, we consider that these two stages of iron mineralization in the Pingchuan deposit correspond to the Permian ELIP magmatism and Cenozoic fault activity event. Both the Stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ magnetites are characterized with overall lower contents of trace elements(including Cr, Ti, V, and Ni) than the ELIP magmatic magnetite, which suggests a hydrothermal origin for them. ‘‘Skarn-like'' enrichment in Sn, Mn, and Zn in the Stage Ⅰ magnetite grains indicate significant material contributions from carbonate wall-rocks due to water–rock interaction in ore-forming processes. Stage Ⅱ magnetite grains contain higher Mn concentrations than Stage Ⅰ magnetite grains, which possibly implies more contribution from carbonate rocks. In multiple-element diagrams, the Stage Ⅰ magnetite shows systematic similarities to Kiruna-type magnetite rather than those from other types of deposits. | 19 | L.reuteri ZJ617 inhibits inflammatory and autophagy signaling pathways in gut-liver axis in piglet induced by lipopolysaccharide显示文摘Background:This study investigated the protective effects of L.reuteri ZJ617 on intestinal and liver injury and the underlying mechanisms in modulating inflammatory,autophagy,and apoptosis signaling pathways in a piglet challenged with lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Methods:Duroc×Landrace×Large White piglets were assigned to 3 groups(n=6/group):control(CON)and LPS groups received oral phosphate-buffered saline for 2 weeks before intraperitoneal injection(i.p.)of physiological saline or LPS(25μg/kg body weight),respectively,while the ZJ617+LPS group was orally inoculated with ZJ617 for 2 weeks before i.p.of LPS.Piglets were sacrificed 4 h after LPS injection to determine intestinal integrity,serum biochemical parameters,inflammatory signaling involved in molecular and liver injury pathways.Results:Compared with controls,LPS stimulation significantly increased intestinal phosphorylated-p38 MAPK,phosphorylated-ERK and JNK protein levels and decreased IκBαprotein expression,while serum LPS,TNF-α,and IL-6 concentrations(P<0.05)increased.ZJ617 pretreatment significantly countered the effects induced by LPS alone,with the exception of p-JNK protein levels.Compared with controls,LPS stimulation significantly increased LC3,Atg5,and Beclin-1 protein expression(P<0.05)but decreased ZO-1,claudin-3,and occludin protein expression(P<0.05)and increased serum DAO and D-xylose levels,effects that were all countered by ZJ617 pretreatment.LPS induced significantly higher hepatic LC3,Atg5,Beclin-1,SOD-2,and Bax protein expression(P<0.05)and lower hepatic total bile acid(TBA)levels(P<0.05)compared with controls.ZJ617 pretreatment significantly decreased hepatic Beclin-1,SOD2,and Bax protein expression(P<0.05)and showed a tendency to decrease hepatic TBA(P=0.0743)induced by LPS treatment.Pretreatment of ZJ617 before LPS injection induced the production of 5 significant metabolites in the intestinal contents:capric acid,isoleucine 1TMS,glycerol-1-phosphate byproduct,linoleic acid,alanine-alanine(P<0.05).Conclusions:These results demonstrated that ZJ617 pretreatment alleviated LPS-induced intestinal tight junction protein destruction,and intestinal and hepatic inflammatory and autophagy signal activation in the piglets. | Tao Zhu Jiangdi Mao Yifan Zhong Congxiang Huang Zhaoxi Deng Yanjun Cui Jianxin Liu Haifeng Wang | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,2: | 0 |
| 20 | Effect of growth hormone-releasing peptide on cardiac cholinergic nerve fiber density distribution in a rat model of heart failure显示文摘BACKGROUND:Changes in the cardiac autonomic nerve are considered to be important factors in the mechanisms of heart failure.It is possible to reduce or slow down nerve degeneration and necrosis,provided that patients take effective neuroprotectants during the early stages of heart failure.Moreover,it is possible to relieve the pathological process and reduce the risk of death. OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of growth hormone releasing peptide(GHRP) on cardiac cholinergic nerve fiber density distribution in a rat model of heart failure,and verify whether GHRP can ameliorate denervation. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized controlled study was performed at the Key Laboratory of Anatomy,Harbin Medical University,between June and October 2009. MATERIALS:Fifty adult,healthy,female,Wistar rats,weighing(200±20) g,were randomly divided into GHRP(n = 30),model(n = 10),and sham operation(n = 10) groups.GHRP-2 was made in Shanghai,China(batch No.z071212-03). METHODS:Acute myocardial infarction was established by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery in the GHRP and model groups.Five weeks later,myocardial function was detected using color ultrasound electrocardiograph.Ejection fraction<60%was considered to be a successful marker of chronic heart failure models.However,the left anterior descending coronary artery was not ligated in the sham operation group.The GHRP group was injected with 100μg/kg GHRP-2,and the other two groups were injected with the same volume of physiological saline,once per day. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:After 4 weeks,pathological changes in cardiac cholinergic nerve fibers were detected under optic microscopy following hematoxylin/eosin staining.In addition, density distribution was measured using a multi-function color pathological image system. RESULTS:In the sham operation group,myocardial cells were regular,uniformly stained,and no inflammatory cells were present.In the model group,myocardial cells were unevenly stained, exhibited nuclear atrophy,degeneration,dissolution,or disappearance.In the GHRP group, myocardial damage was less than in the model group;cardiac muscle fibers exhibited slight degeneration.The myocardium in the sham operation group was serried,spreading the cholinergic innervations along the cardiac fiber.In the model group,there was a decreased number of cholinergic nerve fibers decreased,which also became shorter and smaller,compared with the sham operation group(P<0.01).In the GHRP group,cholinergic positive nerve fibers were significantly increased compared with the model group(P<0.01),but still less than the sham surgery group(P<0.05).
