| 2 | Deep structure beneath the southwestern section of the Longmenshan fault zone and seimogenetic context of the 4.20 Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake显示文摘Magnetotelluric measurements were carried out along two profiles across the middle and southwestern sections of the Longmenshan fault zone(LMSf)from 2009 to 2011,after the 2008 Wenchuan MW7.9 earthquake.The former profile crosses the Wenchuan event epicenter and the latter one crosses 2013 Lushan MS7.0 event epicenter.The data were analyzed using advanced processing techniques,including phase tensor and two-dimensional inversion methods,in order to obtain reliable 2-D profiles of the electrical structure in the vicinity of the two earthquakes.A comparison of the two profiles indicates both similarities and differences in the deep crustal structure of the LMSf.West of the southwestern section,a crustal high conductivity layer(HCL)is present at about 10 km depth below the Songpan-Garzêblock;this is about 10 km shallower than that under the middle section of the LMSf.A high resistivity body(HRB)is observed beneath the southwestern section,extending from the near surface to the top of upper mantle.It has a smaller size than the HRB observed below the middle section.In the middle section,there is a local area of decreased resistivity within the HRB but there is absence of this area.The 2013 Lushan earthquake occurred close to the eastern boundary of HRB and the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault,of which the seismogenic context has both common and different features in comparison with the 2008 Wenchuan event.On a large scale,the 2013 Lushan earthquake is associated with the HCL and deformation in the crust including HCL of the eastern Tibetan Plateau.In order to assess seismic risk,it is important to consider both the stress state and the detailed crustal structure in different parts of the LMSf. | ZHAN Yan ZHAO GuoZe UNSWORTH Martyn WANG LiFeng CHEN XiaoBin LI Tao XIAO QiBin WANG JiJun TANG Ji CAI JunTao WANG YanZhao | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28: | 39 |

| 4 | Spectral clustering based on matrix perturbation theory显示文摘This paper exposes some intrinsic characteristics of the spectral clustering method by using the tools from the matrix perturbation theory. We construct a weight ma- trix of a graph and study its eigenvalues and eigenvectors. It shows that the num- ber of clusters is equal to the number of eigenvalues that are larger than 1, and the number of points in each of the clusters can be approximated by the associated eigenvalue. It also shows that the eigenvector of the weight matrix can be used directly to perform clustering; that is, the directional angle between the two-row vectors of the matrix derived from the eigenvectors is a suitable distance measure for clustering. As a result, an unsupervised spectral clustering algorithm based on weight matrix (USCAWM) is developed. Then, a new Radius Of Gravity (ROG) method to determine the similarity measure between generalized fuzzy numbers is used to calculate the BPA functions of each instance. | 7 | Environmental risks for application of iron and steel slags in soils in China: A review显示文摘Iron and steel slags are smelting wastes, mainly including blast furnace slag(BFS) and steel slag(SS) produced in the iron and steel industry. Utilization of iron and steel slags as resources for solving the problem of slag disposals has attracted much attention with increasing iron and steel smelting slags in China. Because the iron and steel slags contain calcium(Ca), magnesium(Mg), phosphorus(P), and silicon(Si), some have tried to use them as Si-and P-fertilizers, for producing Ca-Mg-P fertilizers, or as soil amendments in agriculture. However, in the iron metallurgical process, several pollutants in iron ores can inevitably transfer into iron and steel slags, resulting in the enrichment of pollutants both in BFS(mainly nickel(Ni), copper(Cu), mercury, zinc(Zn),cadmium(Cd), chromium(Cr), arsenic, lead, selenium, fluorine(F), and chlorine(Cl)) and in SS(mainly Ni, Cr, Cd, Zn, Cu, F, and Cl), in which some of pollutants(especially Cr, Ni, F, and Cl) exceed the limits of environmental quality standards for soils and groundwater. The elements of manganese, barium,and vanadium in iron and steel slags are higher than the background values of soil environment. | 8 | Multiscale stochastic hierarchical image segmentation by spectral clustering显示文摘This paper proposes a sampling based hierarchical approach for solving the computational demands of the spectral clustering methods when applied to the problem of image segmentation. The authors first define the distance between a pixel and a cluster, and then derive a new theorem to estimate the number of samples needed for clustering. Finally, by introducing a scale parameter into the simi- larity function, a novel spectral clustering based image segmentation method has been developed. An important characteristic of the approach is that in the course of image segmentation one needs not only to tune the scale parameter to merge the small size clusters or split the large size clusters but also take samples from the data set at the different scales. The multiscale and stochastic nature makes it feasible to apply the method to very large grouping problem. In addition, it also makes the segmentation compute in time that is linear in the size of the image. | 11 | Pressure balance and imbalance in the optic nerve chamber: The Beijing Intracranial and Intraocular Pressure (iCOP) Study显示文摘To determine the interdependence of intracranial pressure(ICP) and intraocular pressure(IOP) and how it affects optic nerve pressures, eight normal dogs were examined using pressure-sensing probes implanted into the left ventricle, lumbar cistern, optic nerve subarachnoid space in the left eye, and anterior chamber in the left eye. This allowed ICP, lumbar cistern pressure(LCP), optic nerve subarachnoid space pressure(ONSP) and IOP to be simultaneously recorded. After establishing baseline pressure levels, pressure changes that resulted from lowering ICP(via shunting cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) from the ventricle) were recorded. At baseline, all examined pressures were different(ICP>LCP>ONSP), but correlated(P<0.001). As ICP was lowered during CSF shunting, IOP also dropped in a parallel time course so that the trans-lamina cribrosa gradient(TLPG) remained stable(ICP-IOP dependent zone). However, once ICP fell below a critical breakpoint, ICP and IOP became uncoupled and TLPG changed as ICP declined(ICP-IOP independent zone). The optic nerve pressure gradient(ONPG) and trans-optic nerve pressure gradient(TOPG) increased linearly as ICP decreased through both the ICP-IOP dependent and independent zones. We conclude that ICP and IOP are coupled in a specific pressure range, but when ICP drops below a critical point, IOP and ICP become uncoupled and TLPG increases. When ICP drops, a rise in the ONPG and TOPG creates more pressure and reduces CSF flow around the optic nerve. | 13 | Palladium Nanoparticle-Graphene Hybrids as Active Catalysts for the Suzuki Reaction显示文摘Graphene has been successfully modified with palladium nanoparticles in a facile manner by reducing palladium acetate [Pd(OAc)2] in the present of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), which is used as both surfactant and the reducing agent. The palladium nanoparticle-graphene hybrids (Pd-graphene hybrids) are characterized by high- resolution transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. We demonstrate that the Pd-graphene hybrids can act as an efficient catalyst for the Suzuki reaction under aqueous and aerobic conditions, with the reaction reaching completion in as little as 5 min. | 16 | Analysis of the dynamic performance of an electro-hydrostatic actuator and improvement methods显示文摘As a kind of actuation mechanism for power-by-wire(PBW) actuation systems of more/all electrical aircraft, an electro-hydrostatic actuator(EHA) is a highly integrated local hydraulic actuation system. It is a volume control system consisting of a motor, a pump, an actuator, etc.,which has features of high efficiency and reliability. However, the poor dynamic characteristic is one of the main factors restricting its wide application in aircraft. In this paper, the reason for the poor dynamic characteristic of an EHA is revealed from the perspectives of the natural frequency characteristic and the power requirement, respectively. In other words, the insufficiency of the motor output power at a high frequency is the main factor causing the poor dynamic characteristic of the system, and methods which include increasing the maximum output torque of the motor, reducing the rotational inertia of the motor-pump group, and adopting a double-motorpump group configuration are proposed in this paper, by which the dynamic characteristic of the system can be improved. The feasibility of those methods are verified by simulations. | 17 | Breaking 12% efficiency in flexible organic solar cells by using a composite electrode显示文摘The performance of flexible organic solar cells(OSCs)significantly relies on the quality of transparent flexible electrode.Here,we used silver nanowires(AgNWs)with various weight ratios to dope high-conductive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate(PH1000)to optimize the optical and electronic properties of PH1000 film.A high-quality flexible composite electrode PET/Ag-mesh/PH1000:AgNWs-20 with smooth surface,a low sheet resistance of 6Ω/sq and a high transmittance of 86%at 550-nm wavelength was obtained by doping 20 wt%AgNWs to PH1000(PH1000:AgNWs-20).The flexible OSCs based on the PET/Ag-mesh/PH1000:AgNWs-20 electrode delivered a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of12.07%with an open circuit voltage(Voc)of 0.826 V,a short-circuit current density(Jsc)of 20.90 m A/cm2and a fill factor(FF)of69.87%,which is the highest reported PCE for the flexible indium-tin oxide(ITO)-free OSCs.This work demonstrated that the flexible composite electrodes of PET/Ag-mesh/PH1000:AgNWs are promising alternatives for the conventional PET/ITO electrode,and open a new avenue for developing high-performance flexible transparent electrode for optoelectronic devices. | Guang Zeng Jingwen Zhang Xiaobin Chen Hongwei Gu Yaowen Li Yongfang Li | 2019 | Science China Chemistry2019,62,7: | 9 |
| 18 | Laser Ablation ICP-MS U-Pb Zircon Geochronology of Granitoids and Quartz Veins in the Shihu Gold Mine, Taihang Orogen, North China: Timing of Gold-mineralization and Tectonic Implications显示文摘The Shihu gold deposit, situated in the Taihang Mesozoic orogen of the North China Craton (NCC), is hosted by ductile-brittle faults within Archean metamorphic core complex. The deposit is characterized by gold-bearing quartz-polymetallic sulfides veins. The Mapeng granitoids stock and intermediate-basic dikes intruded the metamorphic basement rocks, and are spatially related to gold mineralization. Detailed laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA ICP-MS) U- Pb zircon ages of the granitic rocks, dykes and mineralized quartz veins in the studied area reveal its magmatic and mineralized history. The mineralized quartz veins contain inherited zircons with ages of about 2.55 Ga and 1.84 Ga, probably coming from the basement. These two Precambrian events are coeval with those in other parts of the NCC. The Mapeng granitoid stock, the largest intrusion in the area, was emplaced at ca. 130 Ma, and is coeval with magmatic zircon populations from diorites and quartz diorite pophyrites in the same region. The ca. 130 Ma magmatism and gold mineralization were most likely related to an underplating event that took place in the Taihang orogen at Late Mesozoic. The timing of gold mineralization with respect to felsic magmatism in the area is similar to those observed in other major gold-producing provinces in the NCC. | 19 | Performing optical logic operations by a diffractive neural network显示文摘Optical logic operations lie at the heart of optical computing,and they enable many applications such as ultrahighspeed information processing.However,the reported optical logic gates rely heavily on the precise control of input light signals,including their phase difference,polarization,and intensity and the size of the incident beams.Due to the complexity and difficulty in these precise controls,the two output optical logic states may suffer from an inherent instability and a low contrast ratio of intensity.Moreover,the miniaturization of optical logic gates becomes difficult if the extra bulky apparatus for these controls is considered.As such,it is desirable to get rid of these complicated controls and to achieve full logic functionality in a compact photonic system.Such a goal remains challenging.Here,we introduce a simple yet universal design strategy,capable of using plane waves as the incident signal,to perform optical logic operations via a diffractive neural network.Physically,the incident plane wave is first spatially encoded by a specific logic operation at the input layer and further decoded through the hidden layers,namely,a compound Huygens’metasurface.That is,the judiciously designed metasurface scatters the encoded light into one of two small designated areas at the output layer,which provides the information of output logic states.Importantly,after training of the diffractive neural network,all seven basic types of optical logic operations can be realized by the same metasurface.As a conceptual illustration,three logic operations(NOT,OR,and AND)are experimentally demonstrated at microwave frequencies. | Chao Qian Xiao Lin Xiaobin Lin Jian Xu Yang Sun Erping Li Baile Zhang Hongsheng Chen | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 8 |
