| 1 | Identification and gene mapping of a narrow and upper-albino leaf mutant in rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘The leaf blade consists of color and shape traits.Studies of leaf-blade development are important for improvement of rice yield and quality because it is an essential organ for photosynthesis.A narrow and upper-albino leaf mutant(nul1) was identified from among progeny of the indica restorer line Jinhui10 raised from seeds treated with ethyl methane sulfonate.Under field conditions,the mutant displayed narrow and upper-albino leaf blades with significantly decreased photosynthetic pigment contents throughout their development.The narrow-leaf trait is caused by a decreased number of small veins.In contrast to the wild type,the growth period was extended by approximately 8 d and agronomic traits,such as effective panicle number,percentage seed set and 1000-grain weight,declined significantly in the nul1 mutant.Genetic analysis suggested that the narrow and upper-albino leaf characteristics showed coseparation and were controlled by one recessive gene.The Nul1 gene was mapped onto chromosome 7 between the Indel marker Ind07-1 and the Simple Sequence Repeat marker RM21637.The physical distance between the markers was 75 kb and eight genes were annotated in this region based on the rice Nipponbare genome sequence.These results provide a foundation for cloning and function analysis of Nul1. | WANG Feng TANG YanQiang MIAO RunLong XU FangFang LIN TingTing HE GuangHua SANG XianChun | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,28: | 4 |

| 5 | Inverted duplication including Endothelin 3 closely related to dermal hyperpigmentation in Silkie chickens显示文摘The dermal hyperpigmentation phenotype in chickens is controlled by the dominant fibromelanosis allele.One of the ten unique characteristics of Silkie chickens is the fibromelanosis phenotype,which is pigmentation in the dermal layer of the skin and connective tissue.In this study,we found a mutation of fibromelanosis,a genomic rearrangement that included an inverted duplication of endothelin3(EDN3),is responsible.We show that,as a stimulator of melanoblast proliferation,EDN3 expression was increased in silkie embryos and in both skin and muscle throughout adulthood.EDN3 expression led to an increase in expression of the downstream genes EDNRB2 and TYRP2,and was closely relate with the hyperpigmentation phenotype.We examined eight different Chinese chicken breeds showing hyperpigmentation and conclude that this structural genetic variant exists in all fibromelanosis chicken breeds. | Ming TIAN Suyun FANG Yanqiang WANG Xiaorong GU Chungang FENG Rui HAO Xiaoxiang HU Ning LI | 2014 | Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2014,1,2: | 1 |

| 14 | A Bionic Starfish Adsorption Crawling Soft Robot显示文摘A variety of soft wall-climbing robots have been developed that can move in certain patterns.Most of these soft robots can only move on conventional surfaces and lack adaptability to complex surfaces.Improving the adaptability of soft robots on complex surfaces is still a challenging problem.To this end,we study the layered structure of the starfish tube foot and the valve flap structure in the water vascular system,and use an ultrasonic stress detector to study the stiffness distribution of the arm structure.Inspired by the motion of the starfish,we present a bionic soft wall-climbing robot,which is driven by two groups of pneumatic feet and achieves body bending through active adaptation layers.We design the structure of the foot to flex to provide driving force,and there are suction cups at the end of the foot to provide suction.The soft foot has a simple structure design,adapts to a variety of surfaces,and does not damage the surface of the substrate.Variable stiffness layers achieve stiffness changes by the principle of line blocking.The Central Pattern Generator theory is introduced to coordinately control the multiple feet of the robot.After experiments,we verify the adaptability of the soft robot to curved surfaces.The research may provide a reference for the design and development of crawling soft robots on complex surfaces. | Xiangang Huang Chenghao Zhang Wenqi Feng Xiangye Zhang Deyuan Zhang Yanqiang Liu | 2024 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2024,21,1: | 0 |
