| 1 | An electrochemical impedance spectroscopic study of the electronic and ionic transport properties of LiCoO_2 cathode显示文摘The storage behavior and process of the first delithiation-lithiation of LiCoO2 cathode were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). The electronic and ionic transport properties of LiCoO2 cathode along with variation of electrode potential were obtained in 1 mol·L?1 LiPF6-EC:DMC:DEC electrolyte solution. It was found that after 9 h storage of the LiCoO2 cathode in electrolyte solu-tions,a new arc appears in the medium frequency range in Nyquist plots of EIS,which increases with increasing the storage time. In the charge/discharge processes,the diameter of the new arc is reversi-bly changed with electrode potential. Such variation coincides well with the electrode potential de-pendence of electronic conductivity of the LiCoO2. Thus this new EIS feature is attributed to the change of electronic conductivity of LixCoO2 during storage of the LiCoO2 cathode in electrolyte solutions,as well as in processes of intercalation-deintercalationtion of lithium ions. | 2 | Studies of the first lithiation of graphite materials by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy显示文摘First lithiation of graphite electrode in 1 mol/L LiPF6-EC:DEC:DMC electrolyte was investi- gated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results illustrated that the first arc in the high-frequency range observed in the Nyquist dia- gram appears near 0.9 V in the initial lithiation of graphite electrode, and its diameter increases with the decrease of polarization potential. These EIS features were attributed to the formation and growth of SEI film. Appropriate equivalent circuit was pro- posed to fit the experimental EIS data. | 3 | Sex-specific responses of tree-ring growth to climate in the dioecious tree Populus cathayana显示文摘Aims Radial growth in response to climate has been reported in many trees,but the sex-specific responses of tree-ring growth associated with altitude in dioecious trees are still poorly known.This study aims to examine whether(i)there are sex-related responses of tree-ring growth to climate in dioecious trees;(ii)these responses could be changed with altitude elevation.Methods The tree-ring width and basal area increment(BAI)were measured over the past 30 years(1982-2011),and the sexual differences in relationship between BAI and time span and correlations between ring width and climatic factors were investigated in Populus cathayana trees at two altitude sites(1,450 m and 1,750 m a.s.l.)in Xiaowutai Mountain,Hebei,north China.Important Findings The BAI was increased over the past 30 years.Trees at high-altitude sites had significantly lower mean ring width and mean BAI than those trees at low-altitude sites(P<0.001).In addition,sexual dif-ferences in tree-ring growth and its response to climate were more pronounced by altitude elevation.Male trees had a significantly larger mean ring width and mean BAI than did females at high-alti-tude sites,whereas no significant sexual differences in these traits were detected at low-altitude sites.Female trees were sensitive to previous October-November temperatures at high altitude but to current February and April precipitation at low altitude(P<0.05),whereas male trees were sensitive to current June temperature at high altitude but to January precipitation at low altitude(P<0.05).Our results indicated that the responses of tree-ring growth to cli-mate are sex dependent and can be changed with altitude elevation. | Kechao Huang Yongmei Liao Tingfa Dong Yanxia Yang Jundong He Huihui Huan Qibing Zhang Xiao Xu | 2018 | Journal of Plant Ecology2018,11,5: | 2 |

| 9 | Emergy evaluation of the artificial forest ecosystems in the watershed of Miyun Reservoir:a case study for ecosystems valuation and environmental management显示文摘To build the artificial forest ecosystem is the major eco-economic development model in the watershed of Miyun Reservoir. It is very important to evaluate the benefits of those ecosystems. Emergy theories are very helpful for us to establish a science-based assessment framework. Emergy evaluation of the artificial forest ecosystems in the watershed of Miyun Reservoir is used to asses the relative values of several ecological functions (sometimes called ecosystem services) and main ecosystem storages (sometimes called natural capital). The main driving energies, internal processes and storages are evaluated. The main functions, including transpiration, GPP and infiltration, are evaluated, which are 609em$/ha/yr, 6,245em$/ha/yr and 340em$/ha/yr respectively. The total values of major environmental services are 4,683em$/ha/yr in the artificial forest ecosystem. The main storages of natural capital including live biomass, soil moisture, organic matter, underground water and landform are estimated, which are 112,028em$/ha, 9em$/ha, 40,718em$/ha, 34em$/ha and 6,400,514em$/ha respectively. The largest value is landform, which accounts for 97.7% of these calculated total emdollar values. The concept of replacement value is explored using the emergy values of both ecosystem services and natural capital. | 14 | Exploring the mechanism of Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO_(3) photocatalyst for overall water splitting by first-principles calculations显示文摘The rational fabrication of heterostructures is one of efficient strategies for improving photocatalytic performance of semiconductor photocatalysts.Very recently,Domen and co-workers found that Ta_(3)N_(5) single crystals grown on the surface of KTaO_(3) can accomplish photocatalytic overall water splitting for the first time.In order to comprehend the underlying mechanism of this photocatalytic system,we have performed a systematic study based on density functional theory first-principles calculations.Ta_(3)N_(5)(010)/KTaO_(3)(110)slab models have been built according to experimental observations by considering two common terminations of KTaO_(3)(110)surface,named as Ta_(3)N_(5)/O_(2) and Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO.The formations of interfacial bonds are thermodynamically stable,showing a covalent interaction between two components of a heterostructure.Ta_(3)N_(5)/O_(2) has a higher mobility of photogenerated charge carriers and lower recombination rate of charge carriers than Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO.The light absorption of heterostructures displays the feature of KTaO_(3) in the short wavelength region and the characteristic of Ta_(3)N_(5) in the long wavelength region.The calculated band offsets show that Ta_(3)N_(5)/O_(2) and Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO have distinct Type-II band alignments,with Ta_(3)N_(5) as the accumulator of photoinduced electrons in the former and the collector of photogenerated holes in the latter,respectively.The difference in charge density and electrostatic potential between two components acts as a driving force to promote the transfer of electrons and holes to different domains of the interface,which is beneficial to extend the lifetime of photoinduced carriers.Our results demonstrate that the function of Ta_(3)N_(5) in Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO_(3) photocatalytic system is determined by the termination property of KTaO_(3)(110)surface,which provides a likely reason of the observed photocatalytic activity of overall water splitting achieved by Ta_(3)N_(5) synthesized by using KTaO_(3) as a precursor for the nitridation reaction. | Yanxia Ma Yumeng Fo Miaomiao Wang Xixi Liang Hao Dong Xin Zhou | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5: | 0 |

| 18 | Influence of Metal Material Properties on Heat and Mass Transfer into Thermal Protection Surface with Phenomenological Catalytic Model显示文摘Surface heterogeneous catalysis in a high-enthalpy dissociated environment leads to a remarkable enhancement of aerodynamic heating into the thermal protection surface of hypersonic aircraft.To more accurately predict this catalytic heating,a kinetic catalytic model was constructed.This model involved four elementary reactions,the rates of which were determined on mean-field approximation and surface steady-state reaction assumption.By coupling this model into the viscous wall boundary condition of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)solver,the influences of metal material catalytic properties on heat and mass transfer into thermal protection materials were numerically investigated.Numerical results showed that atomic oxygen recombination catalyzed by surface material accounts for a major contribution to aerodynamic heating and thus variation in recombination rates from different materials leads to the significant difference in surface heat fluxes.From a comparative analysis of various materials,the catalytic activity increases from the inert platinum(Pt)to nickel(Ni)and finally to the active copper(Cu).As a result,the catalytic heating on Cu surface was more than twice of that on Pt surface.Further parametrical research revealed that the proper layout of inert material at the nose of aircraft could prevent stagnation catalytic heating from thermal damage by carrying near-wall dissociated atoms from the stagnation zone downstream.The material-relied heterogeneous catalysis mechanism in this study provides some technical support for the thermal protection system design of hypersonic aircraft. | LI Qin YANG Xiaofeng DONG Wei DU Yanxia | 2023 | Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,3: | 0 |
| 19 | Genomic convergence underlying high-altitude adaptation in alpine plants显示文摘Evolutionary convergence is one of the most striking examples of adaptation driven by natural selection.However, genomic evidence for convergent adaptation to extreme environments remains scarce.Here, we assembled reference genomes of two alpine plants, Saussurea obvallata(Asteraceae)and Rheum alexandrae(Polygonaceae), with 37,938 and 61,463 annotated protein-coding genes. By integrating an additional five alpine genomes,we elucidated genomic convergence underlying high-altitude adaptation in alpine plants. Our results detected convergent contractions of diseaseresistance genes in alpine genomes, which might be an energy-saving strategy for surviving in hostile environments with only a few pathogens present.We identified signatures of positive selection on a set of genes involved in reproduction and respiration(e.g., MMD1, NBS1, and HPR), and revealed signatures of molecular convergence on genes involved in self-incompatibility, cell wall modification,DNA repair and stress resistance, which may underlie adaptation to extreme cold, high ultraviolet radiation and hypoxia environments. Incorporating transcriptomic data, we further demonstrated that genes associated with cuticular wax and flavonoid biosynthetic pathways exhibit higher expression levels in leafy bracts, shedding light on the genetic mechanisms of the adaptive “greenhouse” morphology. Space Environment Prediction Center(SEPC) affiliated with the National Space Science Center(NSSC) has been providing space weather services and helps secure space missions. Presently, SEPC is capable to offer a variety of space weather services covering many phases of space science missions including planning, design, launch,and orbital operation. The service packages consist of space weather forecasts, warnings, and effect analysis that can be utilized to avoid potential space weather hazard or reduce the damage caused by space storms,space radiation exposure for example. Extensive solar storms that occurred over Chinese Ghost Festival(CGF)in September 2017 led to a large enhancement of the solar energetic particle flux at 1 AU, which affected the near Earth radiation environment and brought great threat to orbiting satellites.
