| 1 | Laboratory investigation on mechanisms of stress wave propagations in porous media显示文摘A number of porous models having the similar statistical characteristics of pores and physical properties with natural sandstones have been produced using reactive powder concrete(RPC) and polystyrenes.Spit-Hopkinson-Pressure-Bar tests and CT scans have been carried out on the models with the various porosities to probe the performance of wave propagations and the responses of pores and the matrix during wave propagations.It is shown that porosities significantly influence wave propagations.For an identical impact strain rate,the greater the porosity is,the larger the amplitude of the reflected wave appears,the more the peak in the reflected wave presents,and the smaller the amplitude of the trans-mitted wave turns out.A single peak emerges in the reflected wave when the porosity falls down to 5%.The larger the impact strain rate,the much remarkable the phenomena.The energy-dissipated ratio of porous models,i.e.,WJ /WI,linearly increases with the increment of porosities.The ratio is sensitive to the impact strain rate.Differences in the performance of wave propagations and energy dissipation result from the varied mechanisms that pores response to impacts.For the porosity less than 10%,the mechanism appears to be a process fracturing the matrix to generate new surfaces or pores.Energy has primarily been dissipated in creating new surfaces or pores.No apparent pore deformation takes place.The impact strain rate takes little effect on pore geometry.For the porosity of 15% or more,the mechanism works depending on the impact strain rate.When a low impact strain rate applies,the mechanism still appears to crack the matrix to generate surfaces or pores,but the amount is lower as compared to the case with a low porosity.If a large impact stain rate applies,the mechanism combines both fracturing the matrix and deforming the pores,with the deforming pores predominating.The vast majority of energy has been dissipated to deform pores.Only high porosity and impact strain rate can bring significant deformation to the pores.The proposed eccentricity of pores is capable of character-izing the geometry of pores and its change during wave propagations. | JU Yang YANG YongMing MAO YanZhe LIU HongBin WANG HuiJie | 2009 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,5: | 13 |
| 2 | The Efficacy of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) in Advanced Pancreatic Cancer显示文摘OBJECTIVE To observe the efficacy of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) in the treatment of late-stage pancreatic cancer. METHODS Sixteen patients with advanced pancreatic cancer received HIFU therapy.Evaluation of efficacy was made on the basis of changes in clinical symptoms and variations in the tumor echo and size. RESULTS Clinical symptoms such as pain were significantly alleviated,echo of the tumor was enhanced with B-US and the quality of life such as eating,sleeping and mental status was markedly improved;no serious complications were observed. | 3 | Laser additive manufacturing of Zn porous scaffolds: Shielding gas flow, surface quality and densification显示文摘Zn based metals have exhibited promising prospects as a structural material for biodegradable applications. Pure Zn porous scaffolds were produced by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF) based on data files of designing and CT scanning. Massive Zn evaporation during laser melting largely influenced the formation quality during LPBF of Zn metal. The metal vapor in processing chamber was blown off and suctioned out efficiently by an optimized gas circulation system. Numerical analysis was used to design and testify the performance of gas flow. The surface of scaffolds was covered with numerous particles in different sizes. Processing pores occurred near the outline contour of struts. The average grain size in width was8.5m, and the hardness was 43.8 HV. Chemical plus electrochemical polishing obtained uniform and smooth surface without processing pores, but the diameter of struts reduced to 250 αm from the design value 300 m. The poor surface quality and processing pores were resulted by the splashing particles included spatters and powders due to the recoil force of evaporation, and the horizontal movement of liquid metal due to overheating and wetting. | 4 | Development of a multiplex one-step real-time RT-PCR assay for the simultaneous detection of eight viruses associated with febrile rash illnesses显示文摘Fever and rash illnesses(FRIs)are a series of common diseaseswith fever and rashes as clinicalmanifestations,most of which are caused by viral infection.The rashes of FRIs are generally nonspecific;therefore it is difficult to identify FRIassociated viruses solely based on clinical symptoms.To achieve rapid and accurate identification of FRI pathogens,a multiplex one-step real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)assay was developed and evaluated in this study.Primers and probes were selected for the detection of measles virus(MeV),rubella virus(RV),human enterovirus(EV),varicella-zoster virus(VZV),dengue virus(DENV),human parvovirus B19(B19),Epstein-Barr virus(EBV),and human herpes virus 6(HHV-6),which cover the most common pathogenic viruses of FRIs.Detection of the eight FRI-associated viruses,which was divided into two groups/tubes,was simultaneously performed under universal optimized reaction conditions in multiplex one-step real-time RT-PCR assay.The multiplex realtime RT-PCR showed high sensitivity and specificity in detecting the eight FRI-associated viruses.The limits of detection(LODs)for the eight viruses were in the range of 47–177 copies/reaction,and no cross reactions for the eight FRIassociated viruses were found in the multiplex assay.In addition,the results of the multiplex real-time RT-PCR assay were consistent with the results of a monoplex real-time RT-PCR assay and sequencing for clinical specimens obtained from FRI patients.With its advantages of high efficiency and rapid and accurate diagnosis,multiplex real-time RT-PCR was very feasible for the early diagnosis of FRI pathogenic viruses and would be of great help for the proper treatment,monitoring,and initiation of preventive measures for FRI cases. | Aili Cui Shulei Wang Qiang Zhang Huiling Wang Zhen Zhu Aqian Li Qinqin Song Yanzhe Hao Jilan He Wenbo Xu Yan Zhang | 2020 | Biosafety and Health2020,2,2: | 5 |
| 5 | On the charged aerosols generated by atmospheric pressure non‐equilibrium plasma显示文摘Recently,charged aerosols are used widely in many applications,such as fog elimination,inactivation of airborne viruses and so on.Atmospheric pressure non‐equilibrium plasma(APNP)have become an efficient way to generate charged aerosols.Except the traditional pin‐plate or wire‐plate APNP sources,the new APNP sources such as large scale corona discharge system and air plasma jet array are introduced.These sources can increase the ion density in open air and generate adjustable large plasma plume,which are helpful in increasing the charging efficiency on aerosols.Although the interactions between plasma and aerosols is quite complicated,the preliminary study suggests that the diffusion charging dominates aerosols below 0.1μm,field charging dominates aerosols larger than 1μm,and the photo charging also contributes to aerosols charging.These reactive charged aerosols have shown their potential in the artificial rain enhancement,biomedicine,and ma-terial processing.Finally,challenges and opportunities for theoretical,experimental,and application research in related cross‐disciplinary areas are presented to stimulate critical discussions and collaborations in the future. | Yanzhe Zhang He Cheng Haotian Gao Dawei Liu Xinpei Lu | 2021 | High Voltage2021,6,3: | 1 |
