| 1 | Assessing the impacts of human activities and climate variations on grassland productivity by partial least squares structural equation modeling(PLS-SEM)显示文摘The cause-effect associations between geographical phenomena are an important focus in ecological research. Recent studies in structural equation modeling(SEM) demonstrated the potential for analyzing such associations. We applied the variance-based partial least squares SEM(PLS-SEM) and geographically-weighted regression(GWR) modeling to assess the human-climate impact on grassland productivity represented by above-ground biomass(AGB). The human and climate factors and their interaction were taken to explain the AGB variance by a PLS-SEM developed for the grassland ecosystem in Inner Mongolia, China. Results indicated that 65.5% of the AGB variance could be explained by the human and climate factors and their interaction. The case study showed that the human and climate factors imposed a significant and negative impact on the AGB and that their interaction alleviated to some extent the threat from the intensified human-climate pressure. The alleviation may be attributable to vegetation adaptation to high human-climate stresses, to human adaptation to climate conditions or/and to recent vegetation restoration programs in the highly degraded areas. Furthermore, the AGB response to the human and climate factors modeled by GWR exhibited significant spatial variations. | 2 | Studies of new EST-SSRs derived from Gossypium barbadense显示文摘Existing cotton EST-SSR markers are mostly derived from Gossypium arboreum and Gossypium hir-sutum, but EST-SSR markers from Gossypium barbadense are scarce. One hundred and nineteen EST-SSRs were developed based on 98 unique ESTs from a cDNA library constructed in our laboratory using developing fibers from G. barbadense cv. Pima3-79. Among the SSRs, trinucleotide AAG appeared at a high frequency of 11.76%. 36 accessions (consisting of 13 diploids of the A genome, 11 diploids of the D genome and 12 allotetraploids of the AD genome) were employed to test new EST-SSRs. 76 EST-SSRs were successfully amplified, and 313 polymorphic fragments were yielded, with an average of 4.11 fragments per primer pair. The PIC ranged from 0.17 to 0.95 with an average of 0.53. Based on Jaccard’s genetic similarity coefficient, these 36 accessions were clustered into three groups. 21 EST-SSRs exhibited polymorphisms in BC1 population ((Emian22 × Pima3-79) × Emian22), 24 polymor- phic loci were generated, while 22 of the 24 polymorphic loci were integrated with our interspecific BC1 backbone genetic linkage map, and anchored in 12 chromosomes. | 3 | Comparison of CMAS corrosion and sintering induced microstructural characteristics of APS thermal barrier coatings显示文摘The microstructural features of high-temperature sintered and CaO-MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2(CMAS) corroded air plasma sprayed Y_2O_3 stabilized ZrO_2(YSZ) thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) under the thermal gradient condition were comparatively studied. As-sprayed YSZ has a lamellar structure and the lamellae are composed of closely aligned columnar crystals. The sintered and the CMAS corroded YSZ coatings maintain the t'-ZrO_2 phase as the as-sprayed YSZ coating. The sintered YSZ remains the lamellar structure with reduced interlamellar gaps and grains coarsening. After the CMAS corrosion, the top layer of the YSZ coating keeps its lamellar structure consisting of some columnar grains with the CMAS infiltration into the intergrain gaps and the formation of striped Zr_2Y_2 O_7. | 4 | A numerical study on salinity stratification at the Oujiang River Estuary, China显示文摘The Oujiang River Estuary(ORE)is a macrotidal estuary with drastic variation of river discharge and large tidal range.Numerical simulations based on the unstructured grid,Finite-Volume,primitive equation Community Ocean Model(FVCOM)are conducted to investigate the intratidal and intertidal variations of salinity with an extremely upstream river boundary and large computational domain.The dynamic equation of potential energy anomaly is adopted to evaluate the stratification and mixing processes from model results.Meanwhile,the stability of estuarine stratification on different timescales and its spatial variation are studied using estuarine Richardson number and stratification parameter.The critical values of tidal range and river discharge that determine the stratification state are obtained.The critical values exhibit distinct spatial difference.The north branch of the ORE exhibits well-mixed conditions when the tidal range exceeds 3.8,4.0 and 4.6m at upper inlet,middle segment and the river mouth,respectively.When river discharge is below 280 m^3/s or exceeds 510 m^3/s,the upper part of the north branch is well-mixed sustainably.Near the river mouth,river discharge of 280 m^3/s is a rough critical value that separates well-mixed and stratified states.It is also concluded that periodic stratification exists in the North Channel.The lower estuary appears to be partially stratified at early ebb or early flood tide,and well-mixed in other tidal stages.The stratification only develops during early ebb in the upper segment.The enhancement of stratification is mainly caused by longitudinal advection and lateral velocity shear,while turbulent mixing and longitudinal tidal strain are the main factors of stratification attenuation. | Yichun Li Jingui Liu | 2019 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,11: | 4 |
| 5 | Efficacy of Carbamazepine Combined with Botulinum Toxin A in the Treatment of Blepharospasm and Hemifacial Spasm显示文摘Purpose:To observe the efficacy of the combined treatment of carbamazepine and botulinum toxin A for blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. Methods:Fifty-eight patients with either blepharospasm or hemifacial spasm were randomly divided into treatment and control groups. In the treatment group, 30 patients were administered with local intramuscular injections of botulinum toxin A and oral carbamazepine 100 mg/time,3 times/day for 60 days. Twenty-eight subjects in the control group under-went local intramuscular injections of botulinum toxin A only. Results:After combined treatment, the complete remission rate was 90%, which was significantly higher than that of the of the control group (67.9% , P<0.05,χ2 =4.733). However, no statistical significance was noted regarding the duration of therapeutic effects between the treatment group (range 14~40 weeks; 19.2 weeks on average) and control group (range 12~36 weeks; 18 weeks on average). | 8 | Gene expression profiling under different photoperiod/temperature conditions in a photoperiod-/thermo-sensitive genic male sterile line of rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Peiai 64S is a photoperiod- and thermo- sensitive genic male sterile (PTSGMS) line of rice, which is male sterile at long day/high temperature and partial fertile at short day/low temperature. A cDNA array representing 3328 unique rice genes was used to profile the gene expression patterns in the young panicles of Peiai 64S under these two condi- tions. The statistical data showed that up to 14.60% of genes exhibited up-or down-regulated expressions in the plants at long day/high temperature compared with plants at short day/low temperature. Only four genes were up-regulated while 482 genes down-regulated. Real-time PCR with all the up-regulated and 9 randomly selected down-regulated genes confirmed the differential expressions detected by the array, indicating that the constructed cDNA array is reliable. These differently expressed genes participated in almost all cell biological responses. Analysis of up- and down-regulated genes revealed distinctive changes between the mRNA abundances of MMK1 and MMK2, both of which are analogs ofMAPK, and significant down-regulation of several transcription factors. | 10 | The Earth's inner core deviation to plate movement显示文摘Under the premise of the Earth’s layer structure and mass distribution, the solid inner core cannot be stable in the center of the sphere. Thus, the deviation of the inner core is towards the sphere’s center and the liquid outer core must have asymmetrical thermal convection. Based on the two suggestions, a concise and self-consistent global motion model can be built. The model consists of the following cycle: an asymmetrical thermal convection structure in the outer core led by the dislocation of the inner core→the plume is in special upwell position because of differential activation→the formation and split of lithosphere→the split plates drift and assemble in a new location, the mass of which causes the inner core to deviate towards this direction again→the new asymmetry is formed. | 17 | Ferroelastic domain identification and toughening mechanism for yttrium tantalate–zirconium oxide显示文摘Yttrium tantalate(YTaO_(4))is the next generation of higher service temperature thermal barrier coatings(TBCs)materials due to its smaller volume effect in phase change,lower thermal conductivity and unique ferroelastic domain structure.However,the low fracture toughness limits its application.We first characterized the diffraction patterns of variants,and two variants(M_(1)and M_(2))observed in transmission electron microscopy(TEM)results were determined from four possible variants by mechanical derivation.The role of Zr^(4+)doping in ferroelastic toughening was explained in detail.With the increase of Zr^(4+)doping concentration,the monoclinic angle β and the domain rotation angleαdecrease,respectively.The spontaneous strain component and the principal strain in the main space also have a similar decreasing trend.The decrease of the ferroelastic domain inversion energy barrier is beneficial to the improvement of fracture toughness.Combining the results of Vickers indentation,we found that Zr^(4+)could be enriched at the domain boundary to inhibit the generation of cracks.An appropriate amount of Zr^(4+)is conducive to the improvement of fracture toughness,and the excessive Zr^(4+)will reduce the fracture toughness due to the generation of by-product t-ZrO_(2).So,the optimal composition is Y_(0.44)Ta_(0.44)Zr_(0.12)O_(2) and the best fracture toughness(2.9–3.8MPa m^(1/2))is equivalent to the commercial 8YSZ.This result will promote the application of a new generation of TBCs. | Cheng Luo Cong Li Ke Cao Junbao Li Junhui Luo Qinghua Zhang QianQian Zhou Fan Zhang Lin Gu Li Yang Yichun Zhou | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,32: | 1 |
| 18 | Tunable bismuth doping/loading endows NaTaO_(3)nanosheet highly selective photothermal reduction of CO_(2)显示文摘Photothermal CO_(2)reduction with H2O,integrating advantages of photocatalysis driven H2O splitting and thermal catalysis promoted CO_(2)reduction,has drawn sharply increasing attention in artificial synthesis of solar fuels.The photothermal effect of metal nanoparticles facilities CO_(2)hydrogenation and activation of lattice oxygen in oxide photocatalyst promotes H2O oxidation,which is essentially considered for highly efficient photothermal catalysis.However,the large thermal conductivity of most metal nanoparticles induces inevitable heat dissipation,restricting the increase of catalyst temperature.In this work,to minimize the heat dissipation,we employ bismuth nanoparticles as photothermal unit,which is of the lowest thermal conductivity in the metal family.Meanwhile,we adopt bismuth doped NaTaO_(3)as photocatalytic unit because of the bismuth doping induced activation of lattice oxygen.The bismuth nanoparticles are assembled with bismuth doped NaTaO_(3)through one-step tunable transformation from Bi4TaO8Cl.Benefiting from the photothermal effect,thermal insulation caused by bismuth metal,and lattice oxygen activation by bismuth doping,the NaTaO_(3):Bi hybrid exhibits high photothermal catalytic performance.The yield of CO over NaTaO_(3):Bi hybrid at 413 K via photothermal catalysis is 141 times higher than that room temperature photocatalysis.Further,ultraviolet(UV)light irradiation leads to 89.2%selectivity of CO and visible light irradiation leads to 97.5%selectivity of CH4.This work may broaden the photocatalytic application of ABO_(3)perovskite and provides a novel strategy for the development of photothermal catalysts for artificial photosynthesis. | Mengmeng Zhang Changhua Wang Yueyun Wang Songmei Li Xintong Zhang Yichun Liu | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 1 |
| 19 | The antiestrogen-like activity and reproductive toxicity of 2,6-DCBQ on female zebrafish upon sub-chronic exposure显示文摘2,6-Dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone(2,6-DCBQ), an emerging water disinfection by-product, is widely detected in water resources. However, its potential effects on the reproductive system are largely unknown. Here, we investigated the long-term effects of 2,6-DCBQ on gonadal development by exposing zebrafish from 15 to 180 days postfertilization(dpf). Following exposure to 2,6-DCBQ(20 and 100 μg/L), female-specific effects including delayed puberty onset, retarded ovarian growth and breakdown of the zona radiata were observed, resulting in subfertility in adult females. Adverse effects in folliculogenesis disappeared two months after cessation of 2,6-DCBQ administration. In contrast, no adverse impacts were noted in male testes. The effects on females were associated with significant reduction in 17 β-estradiol(E2) level, suggesting a role for 2,6-DCBQ in anti-estrogenic activity. E2 level change in blood was further supported by dysregulated expression of genes( cyp19a1a, fshb, kiss3, esr2b, vtg1, and vtg3) related to the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonad-liver(HPGL) axis. | 20 | Preliminary Study on the Mechanism of Flower Color Variation in White Mutants of Anthurium andeaeanum显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore the physiological mechanism of flower color variation in the white mutants of Anthurium andeaeanum. [Methods] The seven white mutants of 'Alabama' and 'Turenza' were used as materials to analyze the pigment types, flavonoid types and content and anthocyanin content in the wild type and mutants. [Results] The white spathe mainly contained flavonoids, flavonols, dihydroflavonols and dihydroflavonols; the white mutants of 'Alabama' had a higher total flavonoid content than the wild type, while the white mutants of 'Turenza' showed an opposite trend; and the spathe of the wild type had the highest anthocyanin content, and the pink part of the two-color mutant or the spathe of the binary color mutant contained trace anthocyanins, while no anthocyanins were detected in the white part of the mutants.
