| 1 | High-speed and high-efficiency three-dimensional shape measurement based on Gray-coded light显示文摘Fringe projection profilometry has been increasingly sought and applied in dynamic three dimensional(3D)shape measurement.In this work,a robust,high-efficiency 3D measurement based on Gray-coded light is proposed.Unlike the traditional method,a tripartite phase unwrapping method is proposed to avoid the jump errors on the boundary of code words,which are mainly caused by the defocusing of the projector and the motion of the tested object.Subsequently,the time overlapping coding strategy is presented to greatly increase the coding ef-ficiency,decreasing the projected number in each group from seven(i.e.,3+4)to four(i.e.,3+1)for one restored 3D frame.The combination of two proposed techniques allows the reconstruction of a pixel-wise and unambiguous 3D geometry of dynamic scenes with strong noise using every four projected patterns.To the best of our knowledge,the presented techniques for the first time preserve the high anti-noise ability of a method based on the Gray code while overcoming the drawbacks of jump errors and low coding efficiency.Experiments have demonstrated that the proposed method can achieve robust,high efficiency 3D shape measurement of high speed dynamic scenes even polluted by strong noise. | ZHOUJIE WU WENBO GUO YUEYANG LI YIHANG LIU QICAN ZHANG | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,6: | 17 |
| 2 | Downregulation of serum mi R-17 and mi R-106b levels in gastric cancer and benign gastric diseases显示文摘Altered micro RNA(mi RNA) associated with gastric cancer(GC) development and mi R-17 and mi R-106 b were differentially expressed in GC tissues. This study detected serum levels of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b expression in GC, benign gastric disease(BGD) and healthy controls to assess them as tumor markers for GC. Serum samples from 40 GC, 32 BGD(10 gastric ulcer, 14 gastric polyps, and 8 gastric ulcer with polyps) and 36 healthy individuals were subjected to quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR) analysis of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b expression. The data showed that the serum levels of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b were significantly reduced in healthy individuals and BGD patients compared to GC patients. There was a significant association of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b expression with age, but not with other clinicopathological features, such as gender, tumor differentiation, stage and lymphatic metastasis. Further analysis showed that, in discriminating GC patients from healthy controls, mi R-17 could yield a receiver-operating characteristic(ROC) area under the curve(AUC) of 0.879 with 80.6% sensitivity and 87.5% specificity and mi R-106 b could yield an AUC of 0.856 with 75.0% sensitivity and 92.5% specificity. The combined AUC of mi R-17 and mi R-106 b was 0.913 with 83.3% sensitivity and 87.5% specificity. | 3 | Wireless whispering-gallery-mode sensor for thermal sensing and aerial mapping显示文摘The Internet of Things(IoT)1,2 employs a large number of spatially distributed wireless sensors to monitor physical environments,e.g.,temperature,humidity,and air pressure,and has many applications,including environmental monitoring3,health care monitoring4,smart cities5,and precision agriculture.A wireless sensor can collect,analyze,and transmit measurements of its environment1,2.Currently,wireless sensors used in the IoT are predominately based on electronic devices that may suffer from electromagnetic interference in many circumstances.Being immune to the electromagnetic interference,optical sensors provide a significant advantage in harsh environments6.Furthermore,by introducing optical resonance to enhance light–matter interactions,optical sensors based on resonators exhibit small footprints,extreme sensitivity,and versatile functionalities7,8,which can significantly enhance the capability and flexibility of wireless sensors.Here we provide the first demonstration of a wireless photonic sensor node based on a whisperinggallery-mode(WGM)optical resonator,in which light propagates along the circular rim of such a structure like a sphere,a disk,or a toroid by continuous total internal reflection.The sensor node is controlled via a customized iOS app.Its performance was studied in two practical scenarios:(1)real-time measurement of the air temperature over 12 h and(2)aerial mapping of the temperature distribution using a sensor node mounted on an unmanned drone.Our work demonstrates the capability of WGM optical sensors in practical applications and may pave the way for the large-scale deployment of WGM sensors in the IoT. | Xiangyi Xu Weijian Chen Guangming Zhao Yihang Li Chenyang Lu Lan Yang | 2018 | Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1: | 8 |

| 7 | Mapping QTL underlying tuber starch content and plant maturity in tetraploid potato显示文摘Tuber starch content and plant maturity are two important agronomic traits of potato. To investigate the complex genetic basis of these traits in the cultivated potato, as well as the relationship between them, we developed a linkage map in a tetraploid population of 192 clones derived from the cross Longshu 8 × Zaodabai and mapped quantitative trait loci(QTL) for tuber starch content and plant maturity using data collected in three diverse environments over two years. We detected eleven QTL for tuber starch content distributed on seven chromosomes, of which four, on chromosomes I, II, and VIII, were expressed in at least three environments. For plant maturity, we identified six QTL on chromosomes II, IV,V, VII, and XI, one of which, on chromosome V, showed LOD peaks ranging from 45.2 to 62.5 cM and explained 21.6%–26.6% of phenotypic variation was expressed in five of the six environments. Because the reproducible QTL for plant maturity and tuber starch content mapped to different chromosomes and neither overlapping QTL, nor any genetic interaction between QTL were detected, we infer that tuber starch content and plant maturity are controlled by independent genetic loci. | 8 | Acute toxicity study of Aspidopterys obcordata aqueous extract in Sprague-Dawley rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To examine the acute toxicity of an aqueous extract of Aspidopterys obcordata(A. obcordata) in Sprague Dawley rats.METHODS: The rats were orally administered a dose of 5000 mg/kg body weight and observed continuously for 6 h and then daily for 14 days. Control rats were administered distilled water. The effect of the extract on general behavior, body weight, and food and water intake were measured.After 14 days, the rats were sacrificed and their organs(liver, heart, spleen, lungs, kidney, adrenal glands, ovaries, and testes) were removed for macroscopic examination. The body and organ weights in addition to hematology(e.g., hemoglobin and white blood cell counts) and clinical blood biochemistry(e.g., albumin and bilirubin) were also examined.RESULTS: There were no deaths recorded, and the rats treated with A. obcordata showed no signs of toxicity. All measured parameters in rats treated with A. obcordata were unaffected when compared with those in control rats. | 9 | Nicotinamide mononucleotide supplementation improves the quality of porcine oocytes under heat stress显示文摘Background:Elevated ambient temperature-caused heat stress is a major concern for livestock production due to its negative impact on animal feed intake,growth,reproduction,and health.Particularly,the germ cells are extremely sensitive to the heat stress.However,the effective approach and strategy regarding how to protect mammalian oocytes from heat stress-induced defects have not been determined.Methods:Germinal vesicle(GV)porcine oocytes were cultured at 41.5℃ for 24 h to induce heat stress,and then cultured at 38.5℃ to the specific developmental stage for subsequent analysis.Nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN)was dissolved in water to 1 mol/L for a stock solution and further diluted with the maturation medium to the final concentrations of 10μmol/L,20μmol/L,50μmol/L or 100μmol/L,respectively,during heat stress.Immunostaining and fluorescence intensity quantification were applied to assess the effects of heat stress and NMN supplementation on the key processes during the oocyte meiotic maturation.Results:Here,we report that NMN supplementation improves the quality of porcine oocytes under heat stress.Specifically,we found that heat stress resulted in oocyte maturation failure by disturbing the dynamics of meiotic organelles,including the cytoskeleton assembly,cortical granule distribution and mitochondrial function.In addition,heat stress induced the production of excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and DNA damage,leading to the occurrence of apoptosis in oocytes and subsequent embryonic development arrest.More importantly,we validated that supplementation of NMN during heat stress restored the meiotic defects during porcine oocyte maturation.Conclusions:Taken together,our study documents that NMN supplementation is an effective approach to improve the quality of oocytes under heat stress by promoting both nuclear and cytoplasmic maturation. | Meijie Song Yu Li Yihang Zhou Jiner Yan Xiaohua Zhou Qian Gao Yilong Miao Bo Xiong | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,5: | 2 |
| 10 | Feasibility study of wave-motion milling of carbon fiber reinforced plastic holes显示文摘Carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP)has been applied in aeronautics,aerospace,automotive and medical industries due to its superior mechanical properties.However,due to its difficult-to-cut characteristic,various damages in twist drilling and chip removal clog in core drilling could happen,inevitably reducing hole quality and hole-manufacturing efficiency.This paper proposes the wave-motion milling(WMM)method for CFRP hole-manufacturing to improve hole quality.This paper presents a motion path model based on the kinematics of the WMM method.The wave-motion cutting mode in WMM was analyzed first.Then,comparison experiments on WMM and conventional helical milling(CHM)of CFRP were carried out under dry conditions.The results showed that the hole surface quality of the CFRP significantly improved with a decrease of 18.1%–36%of Ra value in WMM compared to CHM.WMM exerted a significantly weaker thrust force than that of CHM with a reduction of 12.0%–24.9%and 3%–7.7%for different axial feed per tooth and tangential feed per tooth,respectively.Meanwhile,the hole exit damages significantly decreased in WMM.The average tear length at the hole exit in WMM was reduced by 3.5%–29.5%and 35.5%–44.7%at different axial feed per tooth and tangential feed per tooth,respectively.Moreover,WMM significantly alleviated tool wear.The experimental results suggest that WMM is an effective and promising strategy for CFRP hole-manufacturing. | Deyuan Zhang Zhenyu Shao Daxi Geng Xinggang Jiang Yihang Liu ZehuaZhou Shaomin Li | 2021 | International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2021,3,1: | 2 |

| 13 | Design and development of the deep-rock in-situ condition-preserved coring calibration platform显示文摘To systematically validate and calibrate the theory and technology of the deep in-situ conditionpreserved coring, the in-situ conditions at different depths should be simulated, and the full-size coring tests should be carried out in this simulated environment. Therefore, a deep-rock in-situ conditionpreserved coring calibration platform was designed and developed. The self-tightening sealing structure and the quick-disassembly structure were designed on the basis of an innovative segmented nonuniformdiameter structure, which was a breakthrough from the traditional high-pressure vessel frame and was verified by finite element simulation and actual testing under extreme working conditions, respectively.To simulate the actual deep in-situ environment with a temperature of 150℃ and pressure of 140 MPa for a large Φ450 mm×H1400 mm core, temperature and pressure control systems were designed by coupling, and a pre-embedded high-pressure-resistant temperature sensor was designed.
