| 1 | Factors Affecting Sensory Quality of Cooked japonica Rice显示文摘The sensory quality of cooked rice is an important factor in determining its market price, as well as consumer acceptance and breeding efforts aimed at improvement of rice grain quality. In this study,the sensory quality and physicochemical properties of three japonica rice varieties harvested in two different growing locations(Xiangshui and Hangzhou of China) were compared to determine the most important factors affecting the sensory quality. All the three varieties had higher scores for overall sensory quality in Xiangshui than in Hangzhou, indicating that the growing location is a key factor in determining the sensory quality of cooked japonica rice. In addition to growing location, variety(genotype) also had an important effect. Longdao 18 scored the highest for overall sensory quality in the two locations, whereas Longdao 30 had the lowest score in Xiangshui, and both Longdao 20 and Longdao 30 had the lowest scores in Hangzhou. Many physicochemical properties, such as apparent amylose content, protein content, thermal properties and free amino acid contents, showed significant differences between the two locations. Correlation analysis showed that apparent amylose content and protein content had contrasting effects on all the sensory attributes. The overall sensory quality was negatively correlated with protein content(r =-0.89, P < 0.01) and positively correlated with gel hardness(r = 0.91, P < 0.01),indicating that the protein content and hardness are important physicochemical properties for predicting the sensory quality of japonica rice. | 3 | A New Arg54Gly Transthyretin Gene Mutation Associated with Vitreous Amyloidosis in Chinese显示文摘Purpose:To analyse the hereditary features of a Chinese pedigree with familial vitreous amyloidosis in Liaoning Province,China,and to investigate the correlation between the clinical appearance of the disease and transthyretin(TTR)gene mutation,including the locus and type of TTR gene mutation.Methods:Five patients (10 eyes) from one Chinese family were diagnosed with vitreous amyloidosis between July 1996 and April 2009.Family members were followed up subsequently,and peripheral venous blood was obtained from 13 subjects (including 2 patients,and 11 controls without clinical signs of disease).DNA samples were extracted and 4 exons of the TTR gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The gene fragments were subjected to sequencing analysis.The results were analyzed with DNAMAN Windows 5.2.2.0 and Chromas sequence chart analysis software,TTR gene exons were compared between affected patients and normal controls.Results:Family pedigree analysis revealed that patients were distributed in three generations.Male and female subjects had equal prevalence,and only one parent of affected patients had signs of disease.TTR gene exon sequencing showed that the sequence of patients was identical to that of normal individuals.No TTR gene mutations were noted in 10 unaffected family members.However,a TTR Gly-54 point mutation in the 2nd exon was detected in two patients and 1 unaffected family member (one of the patients' daughters).Vitreous samples in 4 cases (7 eyes) showed positive Congo red staining,suggesting that these family members suffered from familial vitreous amyloidosis.Conclusion:This pedigree affected with familial vitreous amyloidosis was characterized by autosomal dominant inheritance;.a TTR Gly-54 point mutation in the 2nd exon is presumed to be the cause.This Gly-54 point mutation of the TTR gene is a novel mutation in vitreous amyloidosis. | Yining Shi Jing Li Jia Hu Jun Hu Lijun Sun Huijin Li Rui Shi Le Yang Ye Sun Chan Li | 2011 | Eye Science2011，26，4： | 9 |

| 19 | Beliefs towards the COVID-19 pandemic among patients with emotional disorders in China显示文摘Background The novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has given rise to fear and panic in the public.Although hospitals in China reduced outpatient visits and restricted inpatient admission to lower the risk of transmission of COVID-19,this has significantly affected patients in need of medical attention,for example,patients with emotional disorders.Aims This study aimed to compare the beliefs towards COVID-19 among outpatients with emotional disorders(ie,anxiety or depression)with those offamily caregivers and the general public and examine factors that shape the beliefs towards COVID-19 among outpatients with emotional disorders.Methods Survey data from 570 outpatients with anxiety or depression disorders,449 family caregivers and 470 general public subjects were collected.Multiple stepwise regression analyses were used to describe participants'level of concern,prevention atitude and positive expectations towards the COVID-19 outbreak.Results About 70.9%of outpatients had to postpone their mental health treatment;43.2%of patients admitted that their mental health was adversely affected by the COVID-19 outbreak--these patients tended to be older,male and less educated.After controlling for age and education level,outpatients with emotional disorders had significantly lower levels of concerns but more negative expectations towards COVID-19,compared with family caregivers and the public.Multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that age,education and the perception of the impact of COVID-19 on one's existing mental ilness were significantly associated with outpatients'beliefs about the epidemic.Conclusion Outpatients with anxiety or depression disorders were relatively less focused on the COVID-19 outbreak,but the impact of the infection was found to be independently associated with their beliefs towards COVID-19.In addition,outpatients who were older and of low educational levels particularly held more negative beliefs about the epidemic,which may place them at a higher risk for poor mental health. | Yining Gao Fei Sun Wenwen Jiang Yuan Fang Ling Yue Xiang Lin Xia Li | 2020 | General Psychiatry2020，33，3： | 1 |
