1Factors Affecting Sensory Quality of Cooked japonica Rice显示文摘The sensory quality of cooked rice is an important factor in determining its market price, as well as consumer acceptance and breeding efforts aimed at improvement of rice grain quality. In this study,the sensory quality and physicochemical properties of three japonica rice varieties harvested in two different growing locations(Xiangshui and Hangzhou of China) were compared to determine the most important factors affecting the sensory quality. All the three varieties had higher scores for overall sensory quality in Xiangshui than in Hangzhou, indicating that the growing location is a key factor in determining the sensory quality of cooked japonica rice. In addition to growing location, variety(genotype) also had an important effect. Longdao 18 scored the highest for overall sensory quality in the two locations, whereas Longdao 30 had the lowest score in Xiangshui, and both Longdao 20 and Longdao 30 had the lowest scores in Hangzhou. Many physicochemical properties, such as apparent amylose content, protein content, thermal properties and free amino acid contents, showed significant differences between the two locations. Correlation analysis showed that apparent amylose content and protein content had contrasting effects on all the sensory attributes. The overall sensory quality was negatively correlated with protein content(r =-0.89, P < 0.01) and positively correlated with gel hardness(r = 0.91, P < 0.01),indicating that the protein content and hardness are important physicochemical properties for predicting the sensory quality of japonica rice. 3A New Arg54Gly Transthyretin Gene Mutation Associated with Vitreous Amyloidosis in Chinese显示文摘Purpose:To analyse the hereditary features of a Chinese pedigree with familial vitreous amyloidosis in Liaoning Province,China,and to investigate the correlation between the clinical appearance of the disease and transthyretin(TTR)gene mutation,including the locus and type of TTR gene mutation.Methods:Five patients (10 eyes) from one Chinese family were diagnosed with vitreous amyloidosis between July 1996 and April 2009.Family members were followed up subsequently,and peripheral venous blood was obtained from 13 subjects (including 2 patients,and 11 controls without clinical signs of disease).DNA samples were extracted and 4 exons of the TTR gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The gene fragments were subjected to sequencing analysis.The results were analyzed with DNAMAN Windows 5.2.2.0 and Chromas sequence chart analysis software,TTR gene exons were compared between affected patients and normal controls.Results:Family pedigree analysis revealed that patients were distributed in three generations.Male and female subjects had equal prevalence,and only one parent of affected patients had signs of disease.TTR gene exon sequencing showed that the sequence of patients was identical to that of normal individuals.No TTR gene mutations were noted in 10 unaffected family members.However,a TTR Gly-54 point mutation in the 2nd exon was detected in two patients and 1 unaffected family member (one of the patients' daughters).Vitreous samples in 4 cases (7 eyes) showed positive Congo red staining,suggesting that these family members suffered from familial vitreous amyloidosis.Conclusion:This pedigree affected with familial vitreous amyloidosis was characterized by autosomal dominant inheritance;.a TTR Gly-54 point mutation in the 2nd exon is presumed to be the cause.This Gly-54 point mutation of the TTR gene is a novel mutation in vitreous amyloidosis.Yining Shi Jing Li Jia Hu Jun Hu Lijun Sun Huijin Li Rui Shi Le Yang Ye Sun Chan Li 2011Eye Science2011,26,4:9
4In vivo evaluation of urokinase-loaded hollow nanogels for sonothrombolysis on suture embolization-induced acute ischemic stroke rat model显示文摘The urokinase-type plasminogen activator(uPA)loaded hollow nanogels(nUK)were synthesized by a one-step reaction of glycol chitosan and aldehyde capped poly(ethylene oxide).The resultant formulation is sensitive to diagnostic ultrasound(US)of 2 MHz.Herein,we evaluated the in vivo sonothrombolysis performance of the nUK on acute ischemic stroke rat model which was established by suture embolization of middle cerebral artery(MCA).Via intravenous(i.v.)administration,the experimental data prove a controlled release of the therapeutic protein around the clots under ultrasound stimulation,leading to enhanced thrombolysis efficiency of the nUK,evidenced from smaller infarct volume and better clinical scores when compared to the i.v.dose of free uPA no matter with or without US intervention.Meanwhile,the preservation ability of the nanogels not only prolonged the circulation duration of the protein,but also resulted in the better blood-brain barrier protection of the nUK formulation,showing no increased risk on the hemorrhagic transformation than the controls.This work suggests that the nUK is a safe sonothrombolytic formulation for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke.Yuming Teng Haiqiang Jin Ding Nan Mengnan Li Chenghe Fan Yuanyuan Liu Pu Lv Wei Cui Yongan Sun Hongjun Hao Xiaozhong Qu Zhenzhong Yang Yining Huang 2018Bioactive Materials2018,3,1:7

9Clinical and Hereditary Features of Familial Vitreous Amyloidosis in Chinese显示文摘Purpose:To investigate the clinical and hereditary features of a Chinese Han pedigree with familial vitreous amyloidosis.Methods:The hereditary features of familial traits were detected by drawing genealogy,and the clinical menifestations were observed.Results:This family with 4 generations of 32 family members had the characteristics of euchromosome dominant inheritance.The age of onset in heterozygotes was over 40 years old in male and over 55 in female.All affected individuals had curly hair.Among the 23 family members of the first 3 generations,7 had the final diagnosis.Four of the cases treated by vitrectomy was found to have open angle glaucoma during the follow-up.Conclusion:We reported a Chinese Han pedigree with familial vitreous amyloidosis which is a rare condition in Chinese and described the clinical and hereditary features.The genetic sequencing and animal model are undergoing.Yining Shi Le Yang Jing Li Jia Hu Rui Shi Ye Sun Chuntao Zhang 2011Eye Science2011,26,1:2
10Newly self-administered two-step tool for screening cognitive function in an ageing Chinese population:an exploratory cross-sectional study显示文摘Background Early screening of cognitive function is critical to dementia treatment and care.However,traditional tests require face-to-face administration and are often limited by implementation costs and biases.Aims This study aimed to assess whether the Thoven Cognitive Self-Assessment(TCSA),a novel,innovative two-step touchscreen-based cognition assessment tool,could identify early cognitive impairment due to dementia in older adults.Methods The TCSA was administered to 61 healthy controls(HCs),46 participants with mild cognitive impairment(MCI)and 44 participants diagnosed with dementia recruited from Shanghai.Two outcome measures were generated from the TCSA test:the TCSA_(primary task)score and the TCSA_(secondary task)score.Results The total average scores in the control group for the TCSA_(primary task)and TCSA_(secondary task)were significantly higher than those in the MCI and dementia groups(TCSA_(primary task):HCs vs MCI group vs dementia group,8.58±1.76 vs 5.40±2.67 vs 2.74±2.11,F=75.40,p<0.001;TCSA_(secondary task):HCs vs MCI group vs dementia group,23.02±3.31 vs 17.95±4.93 vs 11.93±5.50,F=76.46,p<0.001).Moreover,receiver operating characteristic analysis showed that a score below 7.5 for the TCSA_(primary task)and a score below 22.5 for the TCSA_(secondary task)were indicators of MCI.Conclusions The TCSA appears to be efficacious for the detection of cognitive impairment in older adults.It demonstrates the potential for large-scale cognition screening in community service settings.Jing Nie Yang Yang Yining Gao Wenwen Jiang Aisikeer Aidina Fei Sun Lucas R Prieto Jie Yu Kang Ju Lisheng Song Xia Li 2023General Psychiatry2023,36,1:2

15FSIP1 enhances the therapeutic sensitivity to CDK4/6 inhibitors in triple-negative breast cancer patients by activating the Nanog pathway显示文摘CDK4/6 inhibitors are routinely recommended agents for the treatment of advanced HR+HER2-breast cancer.However,their therapeutic effectiveness in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)remains controversial.Here,we observed that the expression level of fibrous sheath interacting protein 1(FSIP1)could predict the treatment response of TNBC to CDK4/6 inhibitors.High FSIP1 expression level was related to a poor prognosis in TNBC,which was associated with the ability of FSIP1 to promote tumor cell proliferation.FSIP1 downregulation led to slowed tumor growth and reduced lung metastasis in TNBC.FSIP1knockout caused cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase and reduced treatment sensitivity to CDK4/6 inhibitors by inactivating the Nanog/CCND1/CDK4/6 pathway.FSIP1 could form a complex with Nanog,protecting it from ubiquitination and degradation,which may facilitate the rapid cell cycle transition from G0/G1 to S phase and exhibit enhanced sensitivity to CDK4/6 inhibitors.Our findings suggest that TNBC patients with high FSIP1 expression levels may be suitable candidates for CDK4/6 inhibitor treatment.Guanglei Chen Lisha Sun Xi Gu Liping Ai Jie Yang Zhan Zhang Pengjie Hou Yining Wang Xunyan Ou Xiaofan Jiang Xinbo Qiao Qingtian Ma Nan Niu Jinqi Xue Hao Zhang Yongliang Yang Caigang Liu 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,12:1

18Atherosclerosis,its risk factors,and cognitive impairment in older adults显示文摘Objective To examine the association of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD)and its risk factors with cognitive impairment in older adults.Methods Six hundred and fourteen subjects,aged≥65 years,from one center(2016–2018)underwent clinical,laboratory assessments and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(Mo CA).Using regression analysis,the relationship between ASCVD and its risk factors was evaluated in subjects with and without cognitive impairment(MoCA score<26).Results Older age(b=-1.3 per 5 years,95%CI:-1.7 to-0.9,P<0.001),history of stroke(b=-1.6,95%CI:-3.0 to-0.3,P=0.01),and myocardial infarction(MI;b=-2.2,95%CI:-3.6 to-0.8,P=0.003)were independently associated with lower MoCA scores,whereas more education(b=1.5 per 3 years,95%CI:1.1 to 1.9,P<0.001),higher body mass index(BMI;b=0.5 per 3 kg/m^2,95%CI:0.0 to 1.0,P=0.04),higher estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR;b=0.8 per 15 U,95%CI:0.1 to 1.4,P=0.03),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF;b=0.4 per 5%,95%CI:0 to 0.8,P=0.04)and statin use(b=1.3,95%CI:0.3 to 2.3,P=0.01)were associated with a higher MoCA score.Cognitive impairment was independently associated with older age(OR=1.51 per 5 yrs,95%CI:1.28 to 1.79,P<0.001),less education(OR=0.55 per 3 years,95%CI:0.45 to 0.68,P<0.001),lower BMI(OR=0.78 per 3 kg/m^2,95%CI:0.62 to 0.98,P=0.03)and higher levels of high sensitivity c-reactive protein(hsCRP;OR=1.08 per 1 mg/L,95%CI:1.02 to 1.15,P=0.01).Conclusions Beyond age,cognitive impairment was associated with prior MI/stroke,higher hsCRP,statin use,less education,lower eGFR,BMI and LVEF.Yun-Li XING Michael A Chen Ying SUN Moni B Neradilek Xi-Ting WU Dai ZHANG Wei HUANG Yining CUI Qi-Qi YANG Hong-Wei LI Xue-Qiao ZHAO 2020Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2020,17,7:1
19Beliefs towards the COVID-19 pandemic among patients with emotional disorders in China显示文摘Background The novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has given rise to fear and panic in the public.Although hospitals in China reduced outpatient visits and restricted inpatient admission to lower the risk of transmission of COVID-19,this has significantly affected patients in need of medical attention,for example,patients with emotional disorders.Aims This study aimed to compare the beliefs towards COVID-19 among outpatients with emotional disorders(ie,anxiety or depression)with those offamily caregivers and the general public and examine factors that shape the beliefs towards COVID-19 among outpatients with emotional disorders.Methods Survey data from 570 outpatients with anxiety or depression disorders,449 family caregivers and 470 general public subjects were collected.Multiple stepwise regression analyses were used to describe participants'level of concern,prevention atitude and positive expectations towards the COVID-19 outbreak.Results About 70.9%of outpatients had to postpone their mental health treatment;43.2%of patients admitted that their mental health was adversely affected by the COVID-19 outbreak--these patients tended to be older,male and less educated.After controlling for age and education level,outpatients with emotional disorders had significantly lower levels of concerns but more negative expectations towards COVID-19,compared with family caregivers and the public.Multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that age,education and the perception of the impact of COVID-19 on one's existing mental ilness were significantly associated with outpatients'beliefs about the epidemic.Conclusion Outpatients with anxiety or depression disorders were relatively less focused on the COVID-19 outbreak,but the impact of the infection was found to be independently associated with their beliefs towards COVID-19.In addition,outpatients who were older and of low educational levels particularly held more negative beliefs about the epidemic,which may place them at a higher risk for poor mental health.Yining Gao Fei Sun Wenwen Jiang Yuan Fang Ling Yue Xiang Lin Xia Li 2020General Psychiatry2020,33,3:1
