| 1 | Distributed Brillouin frequency shift extraction via a convolutional neural network显示文摘Distributed optical fiber Brillouin sensors detect the temperature and strain along a fiber according to the local Brillouin frequency shift(BFS),which is usually calculated by the measured Brillouin spectrum using Lorentzian curve fitting.In addition,cross-correlation,principal component analysis,and machine learning methods have been proposed for the more efficient extraction of BFS.However,existing methods only process the Brillouin spectrum individually,ignoring the correlation in the time domain,indicating that there is still room for improvement.Here,we propose and experimentally demonstrate a BFS extraction convolutional neural network(BFSCNN)to retrieve the distributed BFS directly from the measured two-dimensional data.Simulated ideal Brillouin spectra with various parameters are used to train the BFSCNN.Both the simulation and experimental results show that the extraction accuracy of the BFSCNN is better than that of the traditional curve fitting algorithm with a much shorter processing time.The BFSCNN has good universality and robustness and can effectively improve the performances of existing Brillouin sensors. | YIQING CHANG HAO WU CAN ZHAO LI SHEN SONGNIAN FU MING TANG | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,5: | 6 |
| 2 | into the Role of Additives in Catalytic Synthesis of Insight Cyclohexylamine from Nitrobenzene显示文摘Cyclohexylamine is a versatile intermediate in various chemical industries,which can be expediently synthesized via hydrogenation of aniline or nitrobenzene.However,such processes always suffer from side reactions.Many reports have found that specific additives can suppress the formation of side products,but the mechanism is still not clear.In this work,results suggest that it is the hydroxide ion of alkali metal hydroxides,rather than the cations,which plays a key role in suppressing the side reactions on supported Ru-based catalysts.With the assistance of LiOH,the selectivity toward cy- clohexylamine increased from 85.4% to 100%.Side products,such as dicyciohexylamine,cyclohexanol and N-isopropyl cyclohexylamine,could no longer be detected.Theoretical calculations further disclosed that addition of alkali metal hydroxides inhibited the dissociation of enamine and decreased the adsorption energy of cyclohexylamine,which might be the reasons for a better selectivity.However,the addition of alkali metal hydroxides reduced the activity of nitrobenzene hydrogenation by unfolding the condensation reaction route.To recover or even further enhance the catalytic performance,a second metal component was introduced and the resultant RuNi/AC exhibited a significant improvement in activity compared with Ru/AC. | Xuefeng Li Zhe Wang Shanjun Mao Yiqing chen Minghui Tang Haoran Li Yong Wang | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2018,36,12: | 4 |

| 4 | Antagonism between coral pathogen Vibrio coralliilyticus and other bacteria in the gastric cavity of scleractinian coral Galaxea fascicularis显示文摘Scleractinian corals host numerous microbial symbionts with different types of interactions. The gastric cavity of scleractinian coral, as a semiclosed subenvironment with distinct chemical characteristics(e.g., dissolved O2, pH, alkalinity, and nutrients), harbors a distinct microbial community and a diverse array of bacteria that can be pathogenic or beneficial. Galaxea fascicularis is one of the dominant massive scleractinian coral species on inshore fringing reefs in the northern South China Sea.Although the abundance of coral-associated bacteria has been investigated in G. fascicularis, less is known about the microorganisms in the gastric cavity. In this study, we specially isolated cultivable bacterial strains from the gastric cavity of G.fascicularis collected from Hainan Island using a noninvasive sampling approach. Among the 101 representative bacterial strains, one Vibrio coralliilyticus strain, SCSIO 43001, was found to be a temperature-dependent opportunistic pathogen of G.fascicularis. The antagonistic activity between the 100 strains and V. coralliilyticus SCSIO 43001 was tested using a modified Burkholder diffusion assay. Our results showed that V. coralliilyticus SCSIO 43001 inhibits the growth of Erythrobacter flavus and Sphingomonas yabuuchiae. | 8 | Clinical benefit and tolerability of adjuvant intraperitoneal chemotherapy in patients who have or have not received neoadjuvant chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND Adjuvant chemotherapy using intraperitoneal(IP)treatment has demonstrated survival benefit over intravenous(IV)therapy alone in patients treated with upfront debulking surgery for advanced stage ovarian cancer.Neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interim surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy has similar outcome in survival as compared to upfront surgery followed by adjuvant IV chemotherapy.IP chemotherapy has not been widely adopted in clinical practice for a number of reasons.Whether IP chemotherapy delivered in the patients who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy can be well tolerated or confers any clinical benefit has not been well studied.AIM To evaluate the experience of adjuvant IP chemotherapy in the community cancer clinic setting,and the clinical benefit and tolerability of incorporating IP chemotherapy in patients who received neoadjuvant treatment.METHODS We retrospectively evaluated toxicities and outcomes of patients with stage III and IV ovarian cancer diagnosed at our institution between 07/2007 and 07/2015 who received intraperitoneal chemotherapy after cytoreductive surgery(group 1)or after neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interim surgery(group 2).RESULTS Thirty eight patients were treated with IP chemotherapy,median age was 54 years old(range 38.6 to 71 years).In group 1(n=25),12(48%)of the patients completed 4 or more cycle of IP treatment after upfront debulking surgery;while in group 2(n=13),8(61.5%)of the patients completed all 3 cycles of the assigned IP chemotherapy after receiving neoadjuvant IV chemotherapy followed by surgery,and 2(15.4%)more patients tolerated more than 3 cycles.In those patients who did not get planned IP chemotherapy,most of them were treated with substitutional IV chemotherapy,and the completion rate for 6 cycles of IV+IP was 92%.Abdominal pain,(64%in group 1 and 38%in group 2),vomiting,(36%in group 1 and 30.8%in group 2),dehydration(16%in group 1 and 15.4%in group 2),and hypomagnesemia(12%in group 1 and 15.4%in group 2)were the most common adverse effects in all patients,while patients who have received neoadjuvant chemotherapy were more likely to get hypokalemia,fatigue and renal insufficiency.Progression free survival(PFS)was 26.5 mo(95%CI 14.9,38.0)in group 1 and 27.6 mo(95%CI 13.1,42.1)in group 2.The overall survival was 100.2 mo(95%CI 67.9,132.5)for group 1 and 68.2 mo(95%CI 32.2,104.0)for group 2.For the entire cohort,PFS was 26.5 mo(95%CI 15.9,37.0)and OS was 78.8 mo(95%CI 52.3,105.4).CONCLUSION The use of IP/IV chemotherapy can be safely administrated in the community cancer clinic setting.The use of IP/IV chemotherapy in patients who have received neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery is feasible and tolerable.Despite various modification of the IP regimen,incorporation of IP chemotherapy in the adjuvant setting appears to be associated with improved PFS and overall survival. | Trishala Meghal Vishangi Dave Horace Tang Vivek Kumar Yiqing Xu | 2019 | World Journal of Clinical Oncology2019,10,5: | 1 |

Herein, we reported the application of a TiO_2/H_2O_2/Vis process and the effects of TiO_2 crystalline structure on the degradation of terbuthylazine. The results indicated that TiO_2 crystalline structure and H_2O_2 addition had significant effects on terbuthylazine degradation: its degradation rate could be increased from 7% to 70% with H_2O_2 addition after 180 min of reaction, the synergistic degradation of terbuthylazine by TiO_(2-)Fe^(3+) was substantially accelerated, with the degradation rate reaching up to 100% after20 min of reaction, and rutile TiO_2 showed better photocatalytic activity and a more obvious synergistic effect than anatase TiO_2. The addition of free-radical scavengers(tert-butyl alcohol or methanol) inhibited the degradation efficiency of rutile TiO_2, but had a relatively minor effect on anatase TiO_2. Fluorescence spectrophotometry analysis indicated that hydroxyl free radicals could be continuously produced when using rutile TiO_2 as the photocatalyst. Degradation of terbuthylazine catalyzed by rutile TiO_2 occurred mainly in solution, but occurred on the particle surface of the photocatalyst when catalyzed by anatase TiO_2. | 20 | Selective deletion of zinc transporter 3 in amacrine cells promotes retinal ganglion cell survival and optic nerve regeneration after injury显示文摘Vision depends on accurate signal conduction from the retina to the brain through the optic nerve,an important part of the central nervous system that consists of bundles of axons originating from retinal ganglion cells.The mammalian optic nerve,an important part of the central nervous system,cannot regenerate once it is injured,leading to permanent vision loss.To date,there is no clinical treatment that can regenerate the optic nerve and restore vision.Our previous study found that the mobile zinc(Zn^(2+))level increased rapidly after optic nerve injury in the retina,specifically in the vesicles of the inner plexiform layer.Furthermore,chelating Zn^(2+)significantly promoted axonal regeneration with a long-term effect.In this study,we conditionally knocked out zinc transporter 3(ZnT3)in amacrine cells or retinal ganglion cells to construct two transgenic mouse lines(VGAT^(Cre)ZnT3^(fl/fl)and VGLUT2^(Cre)ZnT3^(fl/fl),respectively).We obtained direct evidence that the rapidly increased mobile Zn^(2+)in response to injury was from amacrine cells.We also found that selective deletion of ZnT3 in amacrine cells promoted retinal ganglion cell survival and axonal regeneration after optic nerve crush injury,improved retinal ganglion cell function,and promoted vision recovery.Sequencing analysis of reginal ganglion cells revealed that inhibiting the release of presynaptic Zn^(2+)affected the transcription of key genes related to the survival of retinal ganglion cells in postsynaptic neurons,regulated the synaptic connection between amacrine cells and retinal ganglion cells,and affected the fate of retinal ganglion cells.These results suggest that amacrine cells release Zn^(2+)to trigger transcriptomic changes related to neuronal growth and survival in reginal ganglion cells,thereby influencing the synaptic plasticity of retinal networks.These results make the theory of zinc-dependent retinal ganglion cell death more accurate and complete and provide new insights into the complex interactions between retinal cell networks. | Zhe Liu Jingfei Xue Canying Liu Jiahui Tang Siting Wu Jicheng Lin Jiaxu Han Qi Zhang Caiqing Wu Haishun Huang Ling Zhao Yehong Zhuo Yiqing Li | 2023 | Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,12: | 0 |
