2INTERFERENCE BY NON-HOST PLANT ROOTS AND ROOT EXUDATES IN THE INFECTION PROCESSES OF PHYTOPHTHORA NICOTIANAE显示文摘Crop rotations are widely used because they can significantly reduce the incidence of pests and diseases.The interactions between non-host roots and pathogens may be key in the inhibition of soilborne pathogens in crop rotations.Interactions between fennel(Foeniculum vulgare)roots/root exudates and Phytophthora nicotianae were investigated because of the known allelopathy between fennel and tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum).The effects of the key compounds in the fennel rhizosphere on the mycelial growth and zoospore behavior of P.nicotianae were assessed.The roots of fennel attracted P.nicotianae zoospores and inhibited their motility and the germination of cystospores,with some cystospores rupturing.4-ethylacetophenone,vanillin and N-formylpiperidine were consistently identified in the fennel rhizosphere and were found to interfere with the infection of P.nicotianae,especially vanillin.Hyphae treated with these compounds produced more abnormal branches and accumulated reactive oxygen species.These interspecific interactions between non-host roots and pathogens were found to be an important factor in the inhibition by fennel of infection by P.nicotianae.Yuxin YANG He ZHANG Yuting FANG Ying LI Xinyue MEI Huichuan HUANG Fei DU Shusheng ZHU Min YANG Yixiang LIU 2021Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2021,8,3:3

5Pea-like MoS_(2)@NiS_(1.03)-carbon heterostructured hollow nanofibers for high-performance sodium storage显示文摘The rational synergy of chemical composition and spatial nanostructures of electrode materials play important roles in high-performance energy storage devices.Here,we designed pea-like MoS_(2)@NiS_(1.03)-carbon hollow nanofibers using a simple electrospinning and thermal treatment method.The hierarchical hollow nanofiber is composed of a nitrogen-doped carbon-coated NiS_(1.03) tube wall,in which pea-like uniformly discrete MoS_(2) nanoparticles are enclosed.As a sodium-ion battery electrode material,the MoS_(2)@NiS_(1.03)-carbon hollow nanofibers have abundant diphasic heterointerfaces,a conductive network,and appropriate volume variation-buffering spaces,which can facilitate ion diffusion kinetics,shorten the diffusion path of electrons/ion,and buffer volume expansion during Na^(+)insertion/extraction.It shows outstanding rate capacity and long-cycle performance in a sodium-ion battery.This heterogeneous hollow nanoarchitectures designing enlightens an efficacious strategy to boost the capacity and long-life stability of sodium storage performance of electrode materials.Songwei Gao Yixiang He Guichu Yue Huaike Li Shuai Li Jingchong Liu Beibei Miao Jie Bai Zhimin Cui Nu Wang Qianfan Zhang Lei Jiang Yong Zhao 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,4:1

8Utilization of nonlinear vibrations of soft pipe conveying fluid for driving underwater bio-inspired robot显示文摘Creatures with longer bodies in nature like snakes and eels moving in water commonly generate a large swaying of their bodies or tails,with the purpose of producing significant frictions and collisions between body and fluid to provide the power of consecutive forward force.This swaying can be idealized by considering oscillations of a soft beam immersed in water when waves of vibration travel down at a constant speed.The present study employs a kind of large deformations induced by nonlinear vibrations of a soft pipe conveying fluid to design an underwater bio-inspired snake robot that consists of a rigid head and a soft tail.When the head is fixed,experiments show that a second mode vibration of the tail in water occurs as the internal flow velocity is beyond a critical value.Then the corresponding theoretical model based on the absolute nodal coordinate formulation(ANCF)is established to describe nonlinear vibrations of the tail.As the head is free,the theoretical modeling is combined with the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)analysis to construct a fluid-structure interaction(FSI)simulation model.The swimming speed and swaying shape of the snake robot are obtained through the FSI simulation model.They are in good agreement with experimental results.Most importantly,it is demonstrated that the propulsion speed can be improved by 21%for the robot with vibrations of the tail compared with that without oscillations in the pure jet mode.This research provides a new thought to design driving devices by using nonlinear flow-induced vibrations.Huliang DAI Yixiang HE Kun ZHOU Zerui PENG Lin WANG P.HAGEDORN 2022Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2022,43,7:0
9Connection models for the Internet-of-Things显示文摘The Internet-of-Things(IoT)is expected to swamp the world.In order to study and understand the emergent behaviour of connected things,effective support for their modelling is needed.At the heart of IoT are flexible and adaptive connection patterns between things,which can naturally be modelled by channel-based coordination primitives,and characteristics of connection failure probabilities,execution and waiting times,as well as resource consumption.The latter is especially important in light of severely limited power and computation budgets inside the things.In this paper,we tackle the IoT modelling challenge,based on a conservative extension of channel-based Reo circuits.We introduce a model called priced probabilistic timed constraint automaton,which combines models of probabilistic and timed aspects,and integrates pricing information.An expressive logic called priced probabilistic timed scheduled data stream logic is presented,so as to enable the specification and verification of properties,which characterize data-flow streams and prices.A small but illustrative IoT case demonstrates the principal benefits of the proposed approach.Kangli HE Holger HERMANNS Hengyang WU Yixiang CHEN 2020Frontiers of Computer Science2020,14,3:0
10Amphibian-derived peptide homodimer OA-GL17d promotes skin wound regeneration through the miR-663a/TGF-β1/Smad axis显示文摘Background:Amphibian-derived peptides exhibit considerable potential in the discovery and development of new therapeutic interventions for clinically challenging chronic skin wounds.MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are also considered promising targets for the development of effective therapies against skin wounds.However,further research in this field is anticipated.This study aims to identify and provide a new peptide drug candidate,as well as to explore the underlying miRNA mechanisms and possible miRNA drug target for skin wound healing.Methods:A combination of Edman degradation,mass spectrometry and cDNA cloning were adopted to determine the amino acid sequence of a peptide thatwas fractionated from the secretion of Odorrana andersonii frog skin using gel-filtration and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.The toxicity of the peptide was evaluated by Calcein-AM/propidium iodide(PI)double staining against human keratinocytes(HaCaT cells),hemolytic activity against mice blood cells and acute toxicity against mice.The stability of the peptide in plasma was also evaluated.The prohealing potency of the peptide was determined by MTS,scratch healing and a Transwell experiment against HaCaT cells,full-thickness injury wounds and scald wounds in the dorsal skin of mice.miRNA transcriptome sequencing analysis,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blotting were performed to explore the molecular mechanisms.Results:A novel peptide homodimer(named OA-GL17d)that contains a disulfide bond between the 16th cysteine residue of the peptide monomer and the sequence‘GLFKWHPRCGEEQSMWT’was identified.Analysis showed that OA-GL17d exhibited no hemolytic activity or acute toxicity,but effectively promoted keratinocyte proliferation and migration and strongly stimulated the repair of full-thickness injury wounds and scald wounds in the dorsal skin of mice.Mechanistically,OA-GL17d decreased the level of miR-663a to increase the level of transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)and activate the subsequent TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway,thereby resulting in accelerated skin wound re-epithelialization and granular tissue formation.Conclusions:Our results suggest that OA-GL17d is a new peptide drug candidate for skin wound repair.This study emphasizes the importance of exogenous peptides as molecular probes for exploring competing endogenous RNA mechanisms and indicates that miR-663a may be an effective target for promoting skin repair.Yue Zhang Ying Wang Lin Zeng Yixiang Liu Huiling Sun Shanshan Li Siyu Wang Longjun Shu Naixin Liu Saige Yin Junsong Wang Dan Ni Yutong Wu Ying Yang Li He Buliang Meng Xinwang Yang 2022Burns & Trauma2022,10,1:0
11Nanocellulose-based reusable liquid metal printed electronics fabricated by evaporation-induced transfer printing显示文摘Reusable electronics have received widespread attention and are urgently needed. Here, nanocellulosebased liquid metal(NC-LM) printed circuit has been fabricated by the evaporation-induced transfer printing technology. In this way, the liquid metal pattern is embedded into the nanocellulose membrane, which is beneficial for the stability of the circuit during use. Besides, the NC-LM circuit is ultrathin with just tens of microns. In particular, the finished product is environmentally friendly because it can be completely dissolved by water, and both the liquid metal ink and the nanocellulose membrane can be easily recollected and reused, thereby reducing waste and pollution to the environment. Several examples of flexible circuits have been designed to evaluate their performance. The mechanism of evaporation-induced transfer printing technology involves the deposition, aggregation, and coverage tightly of the nanosized cellulose fibrils as the water evaporated. 12The Relationships between Erythrocyte Membrane n-6 to n-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids Ratio and Blood Lipids and C-reactive Protein in Chinese Adults:An Observational Study显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationships between erythrocyte membrane n‐6:n‐3 PUFAs ratio and blood lipids and high sensitivity C‐reactive protein (hs‐CRP).Methods The observational study consisted of a population‐based cross‐sectional study of 456 Chinese and a subsequent 1‐year follow‐up study of 171 subjects with the fasting plasma total cholesterol of 5.13‐8.00 mmol/L.Results In the cross‐sectional analysis,plasma low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐c) had a significant and negative association with the erythrocyte membrane n‐6:n‐3 PUFAs ratio (P for trend=0.019) after adjusting for sex,age and total PUFA percentage.In the follow‐up study,171 subjects were categorized into quartiles by the changes of n‐6:n‐3 ratio in erythrocyte membrane (△=month 12‐month 0).In the top quartile whose ratios of n‐6:n‐3 increased by an average of 1.25 during the follow‐up,the LDL‐c‐lowering extent was 3.3 times of that in the lowest quartile whose ratios of n‐6:n‐3 decreased by an average of 1.13 (‐1.07 mmol/L v.s.‐0.32 mmol/L).The hsCRP decreased by 0.11 mg/dL in the lowest quartile while increasing by 0.10 mg/dL in the top quartile (P for difference=0.052).Conclusion Our results suggested that the balance between n‐6 and n‐3 fatty acids may optimize the cardiovascular benefits from dietary PUFAs.ZHANG Bo WANG Ping ZHOU Quan CHEN ChaoGang ZHUO ShuYu YE YanBin HE QiQiang CHEN YuMing SU YiXiang 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,3:0
