2Age and genesis of the Shagou River terraces in eastern Qi-lian Mountains显示文摘The fluvial terrace sequence in eastern Qilian Mountains is a record of periodic uplift events of the Tibetan Plateau. Based on paleomagnetic dating, thermolumines-cence dating, radio carbon dating and loess-paleosol sequence on terraces, we preliminarily determine the ages of five major terraces of the Shagou River, northern side of the Qilian Mountains. The ages of five terraces were about 830, 418, 250,140 and 10 ka, respectively. Analysis on characteristics of terraces show that five major terraces were mainly tectonic genesis. Therefore, five major terraces recorded five strong rising events in the Qilian Mountains during the past 830 ka. The ages of those rising events are about the same as those terraces formation. 3On the Kinematic Characteristics and Dynamic Process of Boundary faults of the Nansha Ultra-crust Layer-Block显示文摘The Nansha ultra-crust layer-block is confined by ultra-crustal boundary faults of distinctive features, bordering the Kangtai-Shuangzi-Xiongnan extensional faulted zone on the north, the Baxian-Baram-Yoca-Cuyo nappe faulted zone on the south, the Wan’an-Natuna strike-slip tensional faulted zone on the west and the Mondoro-Panay strike-slip compressive faulted zone on the east. These faults take the top of the Nansha asthenosphere as their common detachmental surface. 4An experimental and numerical study on the charring rate of timber beams exposed to three-side fire显示文摘To investigate the charring rate of timber beams exposed to three-side fire, a total of fifteen new and used Douglas-Fir timber beams in four groups exposed to three-side fire were experimentally studied, together with the finite element analyses of the temperature distribution in the beam section. The durations of fire exposure were 0 (on a test piece), 10, 15, 20 and 30 min, according to the ISO 834 standard fire curve. The charring depth of each timber beam was calculated by averaging the values at one-third and two-thirds along each cross section to give the charring rate of timber beams. It was found that the timber beam's charring rate reduces as the duration of fire exposure increases and the vertical charring rate is slightly higher than the horizontal one. The areas of beam sections reduce due to charring and the strength and stiffness of the pyrolysis layer near the charring edge decrease owing to the high-temperature. The average horizontal and vertical charring rates are 0.98 and 1.08 mm/min, respectively. To take into account the difference between the test furnace temperature curve and the ISO 834 stand- ard fire curve, some corrections were made for these data to yield the solution for charring rate. With the help of the finite element software ANSYS, the temperature distribution of the wood's cross-section was analyzed. 6Pertuzumab in combination with trastuzumab and chemotherapy for Chinese patients with HER2-positive metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer:a subpopulation analysis of the JACOB trial显示文摘Background:The JACOB trial(NCT01774786)was a double-blinded,placebo-controlled,randomized,multicenter,international,phase III trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of adding pertuzumab to trastuzumab and chemo-therapy in first-line treatment of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-positive metastatic gastric cancer/gastroesophageal junction cancer(GEJC).The aim of this analysis was to investigate efficacy and safety outcomes in the Chinese subpopulation from the JACOB trial.Methods:This post hoc subpopulation analysis included all patients recruited in China's Mainland(n=163;20.9%)between June 2013 and January 2016.The patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive pertuzumab plus trastuzumab and chemotherapy(pertuzumab group;n=82)or placebo plus trastuzumab and chemotherapy(con-trol group;n=81).Intravenous pertuzumab(840 mg)and trastuzumab(8 mg/kg loading and 6 mg/kg maintenance doses)were given every 3 weeks until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.Chemotherapy was given as per standard regimens/doses of capecitabine or 5-fluorouracil plus cisplatin.The primary endpoint was overall survival(OS);secondary efficacy endpoints included progression-free survival(PFS),and overall objective response rate(ORR).Results:The median OS was 18.7 months in the pertuzumab group and 16.1 months in the control group(hazard ratio[HR]0.75;95%confidence interval[CI]0.49 to 1.14).The median PFS was 10.5 and 8.6 months in the pertuzumab and control groups,respectively(HR 0.85;95%CI 0.60 to 1.21),and the median ORRs were 68.9%and 55.7%,respectively.The treatment effect in this Chinese subpopulation showed consistency with that in the global ITT population with numerically lower HR for OS and PFS compared with the control group.The safety profiles of the pertuzumab and control groups in this Chinese subpopulation analysis were generally comparable.The most common grade 3-5adverse events were neutropenia,anemia,and leukopenia.However,due to the nature of being a post hoc subgroup analysis,the results presented here are descriptive only and need to be interpreted with caution.Conclusions:OS and PFS were numerically improved by adding pertuzumab to trastuzumab and chemotherapy as first-line treatment in Chinese HER2-positive gastric cancer/GEJC patients,and this regimen demonstrated an acceptable safety profile.Tianshu Liu Yanru Qin Jin Li Ruihua Xu Jianming Xu Shujun Yang Shukui Qin Yuxian Bai Changping Wu Yixiang Mao Haiyan Wu Yilin Ge Lin Shen 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:6
7Effectiveness of ozonated saline in the treatment of VX2 tumors in rabbits显示文摘Objective To investigate the efficacy, safety, and associated mechanisms of injected ozonated saline in the treatment of VX2 tumors. Methods A total of 90 rabbits bearing VX2 tumors on their left hind legs were randomly divided into three groups. The control group(A) received normal saline, while groups B and C received 20 μg/mL and 40 μg/mL O_3/O_2 ozonated saline, respectively. Rabbits were anesthetized and 2 mL of blood was drawn directly from the heart to measure serum concentrations of interleukin(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α). The skin covering the VX2 tumor was cut in each rabbit and the maximum and vertical diameters of the tumors were measured under direct visualization. Several milliliters of saline, saline pre-treated with 20 μg/mL O_3/O_2, or saline pre-treated with 40 μg/mL O_3/O_2 were directly injected into the tumors of groups A, B, and C, respectively(injection volume(milliliter) =1/2 volume of the tumor, V = 1/2ab^2). On days 4, 8 and 12 following treatment, 10 rabbits were randomly selected from each group for blood sample collection, and serum IL-6 and TNF-α were measured. The tumor growth rate was calculated by measuring the maximum and vertical diameters of the VX2 tumors under direct visualization. All selected rabbits were euthanized and the tumors, livers, and lungs were removed for pathological examination. The tumor necrosis rate was calculated by cutting the tumors into half along the longitudinal axis and measuring the maximum diameters of the intratumoral necrotic regions. Results The average tumor volume in the three groups increased to different degrees at each time point; however, the average tumor growth rates in groups B and C were substantially lower than that in group A, exhibiting a statistically significant difference. The difference in the tumor growth rate between group B and group C was not statistically significant. The serum concentrations of IL-6 and TNF-α increased in the three groups at each time point, with larger increases occurring in groups B and C; however, the greater increases did not reach statistical significance. Although the diameters of the necrotic areas were larger in both groups B and C than that in group A, significant differences in necrotic area diameters were only found when comparing groups A and C on days 4 and 12 following treatment. Conclusion Direct injection of different concentrations of ozonated saline into VX2 tumors significantly increased intratumoral necrosis and reduced the tumor growth rate. 8Activities of the Deriviatives of Chitin on the Osbeoblast Proliferation and the Effect on Bone Strength in Ovariectomized Rats显示文摘This study intends to examine the effects of different concentrations of four kinds of degradations of chitin: glucosamine (GLC),N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (NAG), chitooligosaccharide(COS),CM-chitooligosaccharide (CM-COS) —on the proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cell line cultured in vitro. Results suggest that all of the glucoses mentioned above promoted the proliferation of osteoblast, and various concentrations have different effects: the proliferation was remarkable when the concentration of GLC, NAG, COS, CM-COS was 100 , 100 , 500 , 500 μg/mL ,respectively. Furthermore we choose the glucosamine as the material and study the effect on the bone strength in ovariectomized rats. 9Angular-based spatially resolved laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy: a new technique for the effective enhancement of signals without an external time delay system显示文摘In this study, we developed a novel angularbased spatially resolved laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(ABSR-LIBS) technique. This new method allows the spatially resolved spectroscopic properties of laserinduced plasma to be investigated using different angles and polar distances with a spatially adjustable fiber optics probe. The experimental evaluations suggested that the intensity of the Al signal distributions in the ‘‘side-view''depended greatly on the angle of the collection probe. The location of a collection probe at 50° would facilitate efficient spectral collection and minimize the disturbance of the plasma plume. The spectral signals in the plasma emissions had different distribution at various polar distances using the same collection angle, and the highest signal intensity was observed between 15 and 35 mm polar distances. This ABSR-LIBS technique improved both the LIBS signal and the maximum emission intensity of Al atoms by several times at the best spatial position in our experimental conditions. Furthermore, we successfully obtained well-resolved line emission spectroscopy signals without any external time delay using a nongated spectrometer based on the ABSR-LIBS system. 10INTERFERENCE BY NON-HOST PLANT ROOTS AND ROOT EXUDATES IN THE INFECTION PROCESSES OF PHYTOPHTHORA NICOTIANAE显示文摘Crop rotations are widely used because they can significantly reduce the incidence of pests and diseases.The interactions between non-host roots and pathogens may be key in the inhibition of soilborne pathogens in crop rotations.Interactions between fennel(Foeniculum vulgare)roots/root exudates and Phytophthora nicotianae were investigated because of the known allelopathy between fennel and tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum).The effects of the key compounds in the fennel rhizosphere on the mycelial growth and zoospore behavior of P.nicotianae were assessed.The roots of fennel attracted P.nicotianae zoospores and inhibited their motility and the germination of cystospores,with some cystospores rupturing.4-ethylacetophenone,vanillin and N-formylpiperidine were consistently identified in the fennel rhizosphere and were found to interfere with the infection of P.nicotianae,especially vanillin.Hyphae treated with these compounds produced more abnormal branches and accumulated reactive oxygen species.These interspecific interactions between non-host roots and pathogens were found to be an important factor in the inhibition by fennel of infection by P.nicotianae.Yuxin YANG He ZHANG Yuting FANG Ying LI Xinyue MEI Huichuan HUANG Fei DU Shusheng ZHU Min YANG Yixiang LIU 2021Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2021,8,3:3

14Analysis on Lean Blowout of Swirl Cup Combustor at Atmospheric Pressure Condition显示文摘The experimental data of lean blowout fuel/air ratio of a rectangular swirl cup combustor with different inlet temperatures was obtained at atmospheric pressure condition.Numerical simulations both burning and non-burning were performed corresponding to the experimental data at lean blowout.Results indicated that the size of the recirculation region in the primary zone was obviously smaller when burning than non-burning,but the locations of the cores of their recirculation regions were almost the same.The increase of inlet air temperature didn't mean the rise of the temperature of recirculation region core.The location of the maximum temperature in the primary zone was not the same as that one of the core temperature of the recirculation region.Further more,the reasons were analyzed how the lean blowout fuel/air ratio changed with the inlet temperature increasing under the actions of factors both positive and negative to combustion,and this would be helpful to deepen the understanding of the lean blowout process of swirl cup combustor.Yixiang Yuan Hailin Fan Xiyang Liu Qi Dong Chunqing Tan Baoting Guo 2011Journal of Thermal Science2011,20,4:2

17A Static Magnetic Field Improves Iron Metabolism and Prevents High-Fat-Diet/Streptozocin-Induced Diabetes显示文摘Type 2 diabetes(T2D)is a metabolic disorder with high prevalence and severe complications that has recently been indicated to be treatable by a combined static magnetic field(SMF)and electric field.We systematically compared four types of SMFs and found that a downward SMF of100 mT could effectively reduce the development of hyperglycemia,fatty liver,weight gain,and tissue injury in high-fat-diet(HFD)/streptozocin-induced T2D mice,but not the upward SMF.The downward SMF markedly restored the Bacteroidetes population and reversed the iron complex outer membrane receptor gene reduction in the mice gut microbiota,and reduced iron deposition in the pancreas.SMF also reduced the labile iron and reactive oxygen species level in pancreatic Min6 cells in vitro and prevented palmitate-induced Min6 cell number reduction.Therefore,this simple SMF setting could partially prevent HFD-induced T2D development and ameliorate related symptoms,which could provide a low-cost and non-invasive physical method to prevent and/or treat T2D in the future.Biao Yu Juanjuan Liu Jing Cheng Lei Zhang Chao Song Xiaofei Tian Yixiang Fan Yue Lv Xin Zhang 2021The Innovation2021,2,1:1
18Detection of ECTV,MHV and SV in Clean-grade Mice and Rats in East China显示文摘To study the epidemic status of Ectromelia virus( ECTV),Mouse hepatitis virus( MHV) and Sendai virus( SV) in clean-grade experimental mice and rats in East China,30 individuals of ICR and/or C57BL/6 mice and 15 individuals of SD or Wistar rats were purchased from four major experimental animal supply bases in East China. Blood samples were collected by eyeball picking method,and serum was separated. ECTV,MHV and SV serum antibodies in mice were detected using imported commercial ELISA kits. Since rats were not easily infected by MHV and SV,only the ECTV serum antibody was detected in rats. Survey results revealed that clean-grade experimental mice and rats derived from three out of four major experimental animal supply bases were negative in detection,but the positive rates of MHV and SV serum antibody in clean-grade ICR mice in one supply base were 56. 7% and 100. 0%,respectively,while the positive rate of MHV serum antibody in C57BL/6 mice was 100%. Research results showed that most of the commercial experimental mice and rats in major experimental animal supply bases in East China were qualified in detection of above three kinds of diseases,but MHV and SV still existed in individual base,with severe infection status.Thus,active measures must be strengthened to purify mice and rats. 19HY5-HDA9 orchestrates the transcription of HsfA2 to modulate salt stress response in Arabidopsis显示文摘Integration of light signaling and diverse abiotic stress responses contribute to plant survival in a changing environment.Some reports have indicated that light signals contribute a plant’s ability to deal with heat,cold,and stress.However,the molecular link between light signaling and the saltresponse pathways remains unclear.We demonstrate here that increasing light intensity elevates the salt stress tolerance of plants.Depletion of HY5,a key component of light signaling,causes Arabidopsis thaliana to become salinity sensitive.Interestingly,the small heat shock protein(sHsp)family genes are upregulated in hy5-215 mutant plants,and HsfA 2 is commonly involved in the regulation of these sH sps.We found that HY5directly binds to the G-box motifs in the HsfA2promoter,with the cooperation of HISTONE DEACETYLASE 9(HDA9),to repress its expression.Furthermore,the accumulation of HDA9 and the interaction between HY5 and HDA9 are significantly enhanced by salt stress.On the contrary,high temperature triggers HY5 and HDA9 degradation,which leads to dissociation of HY5-HDA9from the HsfA2 promoter,thereby reducing salt tolerance.Under salt and heat stress conditions,fine tuning of protein accumulation and an interaction between HY5 and HDA9 regulate HsfA2 expression.This implies that HY5,HDA9,and HsfA2play important roles in the integration of light signaling with salt stress and heat shock response.Jiaheng Yang Xiao Qu Tao Li Yixiang Gao Haonan Du Lanjie Zheng Manchun Ji Paifeng Zhang Yan Zhang Jinxin Hu Liangyu Liu Zefu Lu Zijian Yang Huiyong Zhang Jianping Yang Yongqing Jiao Xu Zheng 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,1:1
