1Brain functional changes in facial expression recognition in patients with major depressive disorder before and after antidepressant treatment A functional magnetic resonance imaging study显示文摘Functional magnetic resonance imaging was used during emotion recognition to identify changes in functional brain activation in 21 first-episode, treatment-naive major depressive disorder patients before and after antidepressant treatment. Following escitalopram oxalate treatment, patients exhibited decreased activation in bilateral precentral gyrus, bilateral middle frontal gyrus, left middle temporal gyrus, bilateral postcentral gyrus, left cingulate and right parahippocampal gyrus, and increased activation in right superior frontal gyrus, bilateral superior parietal lobule and left occipital gyrus during sad facial expression recognition. After antidepressant treatment, patients also exhibited decreased activation in the bilateral middle frontal gyrus, bilateral cingulate and right parahippocampal gyrus, and increased activation in the right inferior frontal gyrus, left fusiform gyrus and right precuneus during happy facial expression recognition. 2Synthesis of Fe^(3+)-doped Aminated Lignin as A Peroxidase Mimic for Colorimetric Detection of H_(2)O_(2) and Glucose显示文摘Peroxidase plays an important role in living systems;however,its storage difficulty and easy inactivation have limited its applications in complex environments.To address these problems,herein,we proposed a method to synthesize peroxidase mimics by amination,carbonization,and Fe^(3+)-doping of industrial alkali lignin.The Fe^(3+)-doped lignin-based peroxidase mimic(Fe-LPM),with active centers of coordination between Fe^(3+)and N atoms,showed higher tolerance to pH value and temperature than natural peroxidase.Using Fe-LPM,10-100 mmol/L of H_(2)O_(2) and glucose could be colorimetrically detected with the lowest detection limits of 80μmol/L and 1.5 mmol/L and visual detection limits of 1.0 mmol/L and 10 mmol/L,respectively.The Fe-LPM maintained peroxidase-like activity after 10 cycles and could even be used for H_(2)O_(2) detection in practical samples.This work not only provides a new approach to synthesize peroxidase mimics using biomass materials but also promotes the high-value utilization of lignin.Lijun Li Xin Liu Yixin Shi Jinhui Pang Jun Yang Feng Xu Xueming Zhang 2021Paper And Biomaterials2021,6,4:2

7Effect of Corona Treatment and Dielectric Separation on Seed Vigor of Hybrid Rice显示文摘[Objectives] The aim was to investigate the effects of corona field and dielectric separation on the seed vigor of hybrid rice. [Methods] The seeds of6 hybrid rice varieties were processed with corona field,dielectric separation and corona field + dielectric separation. [Results] When the field intensity was200 km/m and the processing time was 4 min,the seed vigor was significantly increased. The seed vigor of Y Liangyou 9918( 2014) increased the most,and the germination potential and the germination rate increased by 17 and 12 percentage points respectively compared to the control. Corona field reduced seed conductivity,and for seedlings,it decreased their MDA content,increased proline content,improved peroxidase activity,and enhanced root activity. When the rotating speed of the drum was 30 r/min,the dielectric separation voltage of 4 500 V could achieve good separation effect,and the vitality of seeds at different grades was significantly different. Under the optimized corona field combined with optimized voltage processing of dielectric separation,the seed vigor at all grades from the separation was significantly higher than that of the dielectric separation processing alone. The combined separation processing separated no seeds with germination rate of higher than 80% from the hybrid rice seeds with germination rate of lower than 60%,yet it could effectively separate the seeds with germination rate of higher than 80%from the hybrid rice seeds with germination rate of 65%-70%. After the combined processing,the germination rates of separated Grade I seeds of Wangliangyou6( 2015),N Liangyouhuazhan( 2015),Wangliangyou 6( 2016) increased by 20,15,20 percentage points from the germination rates of the control,while the germination rates of N Liangyouhuazhan( 2016) and Y Liangyou 9918( 2016),which had the germination rates of higher than 80%,increased by 3 and 9 percentage points from the control,suggesting insignificant separation effect.
