2Non-invasive prediction of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis in Japanese patients with morbid obesity by artificial intelligence using rule extraction technology显示文摘AIM To construct a non-invasive prediction algorithm for predicting non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH), we investigated Japanese morbidly obese patients using artificial intelligence with rule extraction technology.METHODS Consecutive patients who required bariatric surgery underwent a liver biopsy during the operation. Standard clinical, anthropometric, biochemical measurements were used as parameters to predict NASH and were analyzed using rule extraction technology. One hundred and two patients, including 79 NASH and 23 non-NASH patients were analyzed in order to create the predictionmodel, another cohort with 77 patients including 65 NASH and 12 non-NASH patients were analyzed to validate the algorithm.RESULTS Alanine aminotransferase, C-reactive protein, homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance, albumin were extracted as predictors of NASH using a recursive-rule extraction algorithm. When we adopted the extracted rules for the validation cohort using a highly accurate rule extraction algorithm, the predictive accuracy was 79.2%. 8A case of severe acalculous cholecystitis associated with sorafenib treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Sorafenib,a multikinase inhibitor,is the first and only drug,which improves significantly the overall survival in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,many patients experience diverse side effects,some of them severe and unexpected.To date,acute acalculous cholecystitis has not been documented in association with a HCC patient treated with sorafenib.Here,we report the case of a 43-yearold woman with hepatitis C virus-related advanced HCC.She received sorafenib,and later complained ofa sudden onset of severe right hypocondrial pain with rebound tenderness and muscle defense.Laboratory examination showed mild elevation of transaminases,biliary enzymes,bilirubin,inflammation markers,and a marked peripheral eosinophilia.Abdominal computed tomography(CT) revealed a swollen gallbladder with exudate associated with severe inflammation without stones or debris.Consequently,sorafenib treatment was stopped immediately,and steroid-pulse therapy was performed.Steroid therapy drastically improved all clinical manifestations along with normalization of CT findings,eosinophilia,and liver functions.In summary,we herein report a rare case of acute severe acalculous cholecystitis associated with sorafenib in the patient with advanced HCC.Yosuke Aihara Hitoshi Yoshiji Masaharu Yamazaki Yasuhide Ikenaka Ryuichi Noguchi Chie Morioka Kosuke Kaji Haruki Tastumi Keisuke Nakanishi Maiko Nakamura Junichi Yamao Masahisa Toyohara Akira Mitoro Masayoshi Sawai Motoyuki Yoshida Masao Fujimoto Masahito Uemura Hiroshi Fukui 2012World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2012,4,5:1

10Horizontal structure of convergent wind shear associated with sporadic E layers over East Asia显示文摘At present,the main detection instruments for observing sporadic E(Es)layers are ground-based radars,dense networks of ground-based global navigation satellite system(GNSS)receivers,and GNSS radio occultation,but they cannot capture the whole picture of the horizontal structure of Es layers.This study employs the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model with thermosphere and ionosphere eXtension model(WACCM-X 2.1)to derive the horizontal structure of the ion convergence region(HSICR)to explore the shapes of the large-scale Es layers over East Asia for the period from June 1 to August 31,2008.The simulation produced the various shapes of the HSICRs elongated in the northwest-southeast,northeast-southwest,or composed of individual small patches.The close connection between Es layer critical frequency(foEs)and vertical ion convergence indicates that the HSICR is a good candidate for revealing and explaining the horizontal structure of the large-scale Es layers.LiHui Qiu Xian Lu Tao Yu Yosuke Yamazaki HuiXin Liu Yang-Yi Sun HaoNan Wu XiaoMin Zuo XiangXiang Yan Yan Yu YiFan Qi 2023Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,5:0
