Review of low timing jitter mode-locked fiber lasers and applications in dual-comb absolute distance measurement显示文摘Passively mode-locked fiber lasers emit femtosecond pulse trains with excellent short-term stability. The quantum-limited timing jitter of a free running femtosecond erbium-doped fiber laser working at room temperature is considerably below one femtosecond at high Fourier frequency. The ultrashort pulse train with ultralow timing jitter enables absolute time-of-flight measurements based on a dual-comb implementation, which is typically composed of a pair of optical frequency combs generated by femtosecond lasers. Dead-zone-free absolute distance measurement with sub-micrometer precision and kHz update rate has been routinely achieved with a dual-comb configuration, which is promising for a number of precision manufacturing applications, from large step-structure measurements prevalent in microelectronic profilometry to three coordinate measurements in large-scale aerospace manufacturing and shipbuilding. In this paper, we first review the sub-femtosecond precision timing jitter characterization methods and approaches for ultralow timing jitter mode-locked fiber laser design. Then, we provide an overview of the state-of-the-art dual-comb absolute ranging technology in terms of working principles, experimental implementations, and measurement precisions. Finally, we discuss the impact of quantum-limited timing jitter on the dual-comb ranging precision at a high update rate. The route to highprecision dual-comb range finder design based on ultralow jitter femtosecond fiber lasers is proposed. | Haosen Shi Youjian Song Runmin Li Yuepeng Li Hui Cao Haochen Tian Bowen Liu Lu Chai Minglie Hu | 2018 | Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering2018,1,4: | 9
Oxaliplatin,Fluorouracil and Leucovorin (FOLFOX) as First-line Chemotherapy for Metastatic or Recurrent Colorectal Cancer Patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate the efficiency and safety of the oxaliplatin, fluorouracil(5-FU)and leucovorin regimen(FOLFOX)in previously untreated patients with metastatic or recurrent colorectal cancer. METHODS Previously untreated patients with metastatic or recurrent colorectal cancer received 100 mg/m2 of oxaliplatin intravenously(IV)over 2 h on day 1,and IV 400 mg/m2 of leucovorin over 2 h followed by a bolus of 400 mg/m2 of 5-FU.Then 2,600~3,000 mg/m2 of 5-FU was administered by continuous infusion over 46 h. RESULTS An evaluated response rate was determined for 97 of 105 treated patients. The overal response rate was 35.1%,9 patients(9.3%) had a complete response and 25 patients(25.8%)a partial response.Thirty-two patients(33.0%)developed stable disease and 32.0%of the patients progressed. The median time to progression(TTP)was 7.7 months and the median overal survival 20.5 months. One and 2-year survival rates were 68%and 32%.Toxic effects based on the National Cancer Institute-Common Toxicity Criteria(NCI-CTC),reaching grade 3/4 were:neutropenia 12.3%, anemia 11.3%,vomiting 4.1%and diarrhea 7.2%.Grade 3 neuropathy was 5.1%.The overall survival rate of patients who had received a radical resection was superior to the patients who had not received a operation,or had received a pal iative resection(P=0.0658).The serum levels of CEA,ALP and LDH had no relationship with survival(P>0.05). CONCLUSION The FOLFOX regimen containing oxaliplatin,5-FU plus leucovorin was an efficacious regimen with good tolerability in previously untreated metastatic or recurrent colorectal cancer patients. | Bing Han Ruihua Xu Yanxia Shi Huiyan Luo Xiaojuan Xiang Yuhong Li Li Zhang Tongyu Lin Youjian He | 2007 | Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology2007,4,6: | 2
The prediction of recurrence and survival of patients with Dukes’ B colorectal cancer after curative resection with immunohistochemical detection of Survivin and Livin expressions显示文摘Objective: To detect the expressions of Survivin and Livin in Dukes’ B colorectal cancer tissues and analyze the prognosis after curative resection. Methods: The expressions of Survivin and Livin were evaluated immunohistochemically in Dukes’ B colorectal cancer specimens from 81 patients after curative resection of the tumor. Their correlations to clinical characters and survival were also explored. Results: The positive rates of Survivin and Livin in colorectal cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in normal colorectal tissues (58.0% vs. 16.7% and 45.7% vs. 8.3% respectively, P < 0.05). The expressions of Survivin and Livin were not related to gender, tumor site, primary size, T stage, pathologic category, and degree of differentiation (P > 0.05), and no relationship was found between the expressions of Survivin and Livin (P > 0.05). The expression rate of Survivin in patients older than 50 years was higher than that in patients younger than 50 years (70.6% vs. 36.7%, P < 0.05). Both Survivin and Livin were related to recurrence and/or metastasis (P = 0.02 and P = 0.001, respectively), and shorter survival (P = 0.039 and P = 0.001, respectively). Cox multivariate analysis showed T4 and positive Livin expression were independent prognostic factors (P = 0.002 and P = 0.047, respectively). Conclusion: Survivin and Livin are over-expressed in Dukes’ B colorectal cancer tissues and are positively related to recurrence and/or metastasis and poor prognosis after curative resection of the tumor. | Junhe Li Wenjing He Youjian He | 2008 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2008,7,1: | 1
Site preference of Ti and Nb in L1-(2)-ordered Co-Al-W phase and their effect on the properties of the alloy:first-principles study显示文摘In this work, the equilibrium structure, electronic and elastic properties of L1_(2)-ordered Co-Al-W and Co-Al-W-X(X=Ti and Nb)phase were calculated, using first-principles calculations.Among six nonequivalent sites(Al_(1),Al_(2),Co_(3),Co_(4),W_(5),W_(6)),Ti and Nb prefer to occupy the W_(6)site,since the formation enthalpy of the system is lowest when Ti and Nb occupy the W。site. Both Ti and Nb most affect the density of states of Al atoms.Compared with the Al_(2) site, which is the sub-preference site of Ti and Nb,the density of states of Al atoms is higher with the addition of Ti and Nb in the W_(6)site,which means that the latter system is more stable.According to the bulk modulus B,shear modulus G,Young's modulus E,hardness Hv and Poisson's ratioσ,for Co_(3)(AI,W)alloy,the addition of Ti and Nb in the W_(6)site decreases its hardness hut increases its duetility. This work cnnfirms that Ti and Nh can stahilize the Cag(Al,W)alloy and have a positive effect in solving the relatively poor ductility of this alloy, which has important implications for the development of cobalt.based alloys. | Zihan Wang Jianxin Zhang Pan Li Youjian Zhang Huixin Jin Wenyang Zhang | 2021 | Communications in Theoretical Physics2021,73,2: | 0
MSC based gene delivery methods and strategies improve the therapeutic efficacy of neurological diseases显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are promising seed cells for neural regeneration therapy owing to their plasticity and accessibility. They possess several inherent characteristics advantageous for the transplantation-based treatment of neurological disorders, including neural differentiation, immunosuppression, neurotrophy, and safety. However, the therapeutic efficacy of MSCs alone remains unsatisfactory in most cases. To improve some of their abilities, many studies have employed genetic engineering to transfer key genes into MSCs.Both viral and nonviral methods can be used to overexpress therapeutic proteins that complement the inherent properties. However,to date, different modes of gene transfer have specific drawbacks and advantages. In addition,MSCs can be functionalized through targeted gene modification to facilitate neural repair by promoting neural differentiation, enhancing neurotrophic and neuroprotective functions, and increasing survival and homing abilities. The methods of gene transfer and selection of delivered genes still need to be optimized for improved therapeutic and targeting efficacies while minimizing the loss of MSC function. In this review,we focus on gene transport technologies for engineering MSCs and the application of strategies for selecting optimal delivery genes.Further,we describe the prospects and challenges of their application in animal models of different neurological lesions to broaden treatment alternatives for neurological diseases. | Heng Zhou Yan He Wei Xiong Shuili Jing Xingxiang Duan Zhiyun Huang Gurek SNahal Youjian Peng Mingchang Li Yaoqi Zhu Qingsong Ye | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,5: | 0
On implications of somatostatin in diabetic retinopathy显示文摘Somatostatin,a naturally produced neuroprotective peptide, depresses excitatory neurotransmission and exerts anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory effects on the retina. In this review,we summarize the progress of somatostatin treatment of diabetic retinopathy through analysis of relevant studies published from February 2019 to February 2023 extracted from the PubMed and Google Scholar databases.Insufficient neuroprotection, which occurs as a consequence of declined expression or dysregulation of retinal somatostatin in the very early stages of diabetic retinopathy, triggers retinal neurovascular unit impairment and microvascular damage.Somatostatin replacement is a promising treatment for retinal neurodegeneration in diabetic retinopathy.Numerous pre-clinical and clinical trials of somatostatin analog treatment for early diabetic retinopathy have been initiated. In one such trial(EUROCONDOR),topical administration of somatostatin was found to exert neuroprotective effects in patients with pre-existing retinal neurodysfunction, but had no impact on the onset of diabetic retinopathy.Overall,we concluded that somatostatin restoration may be especially beneficial for the growing population of patients with early-stage retinopathy. In order to achieve early prevention of diabetic retinopathy initiation, and thereby salvage visual function before the appearance of moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, several issues need to be addressed. These include the needs to:a)update and standardize the retinal screening scheme to incorporate the detection of early neurodegeneration,b)identify patient subgroups who would benefit from somatostatin analog supplementation,c)elucidate the interactions of somatostatin, particularly exogenously-delivered somatostatin analogs, with other retinal peptides in the context of hyperglycemia, and d)design safe, feasible, low cost, and effective administration routes. | Yanhong Fang Qionghua Wang Youjian Li Li Zeng Jian Liu Kepeng Ou | 2024 | Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,9: | 0
Preparation of metal‐organic frameworks and their derivatives for supercapacitors显示文摘To satisfy the requirements of social power development,it is urgently necessary to develop innovative and sustainable new energy storage devices.Supercapacitors have attracted considerable attention as a new type of energy storage device, owing to their high energy density, high power density, fast charging and discharging speeds, and long cycle life. The electrode material is an important factor in determining the electrochemical performance of supercapacitors. In recent years, researchers explored the application of metal‐organic frameworks(MOFs)and their derivatives as electrode materials for supercapacitors. In this paper, the preparation of monometallic, bimetallic, and conductive MOFs,and their derivatives for application in supercapacitors are reviewed. In addition, challenges facing MOFs in the field of supercapacitors and their future development prospects are discussed. | Youjian Li Donglin Gan Xu Deng Lili Jiang Chaoming Xie Xiong Lu | 2022 | Biosurface and Biotribology2022,8,3: | 0
Laser-induced topology optimized amorphous nanostructure and corrosion electrochemistry of supersonically deposited Ni_(30)Cr_(25)Al_(15)Co_(15)Mo_(5)Ti_(5)Y_(5) HEA coating based on AIMD显示文摘A novel Ni_(30)Cr_(25)Al_(15)Co_(15)Mo_(5)Ti_(5)Y_(5) high-entropy alloy(HEA)coating was irradiated to optimize its internal structure via laser after supersonic particle deposition(SPD).Owing to the high energy density of the laser and large temperature gradient, the crystallization process of the molecules and atoms in the coating was restrained and supercooling occurred.Experimental results showed that a considerable number of nano-crystal grains precipitated and amorphous structures were formed because of the random orientation of the crystals. The baseline of differential scanning calorimetry scans obtained for the coating started to shift at the Tg of 939.37℃ and a step was observed.Multiple dispersion peaks and lattice fringes indicated that the nucleation of the irradiated laser-induced topology optimized(LTO)coating was incomplete. The laser-induced topology optimizing treatment led to quasi-isotropy in the SPD coating.Furthermore, the LTO coating exhibited a residual stress of 18.4 MPa,stress-strain response, and fatigue limit of 265 MPa.Hence, the LTO coating exhibited higher performance than the unirradiated SPD coating. The Nyquist and Bode electrochemical impedance spectra of the LTO coating, including two relaxation processes, indicated that the corrosion process steadily recovered to the equilibrium state. This implies that the uniform oxidation passivation layer on the surface of the LTO coating insulated the material from the corrosive medium, protecting the substrate from further corrosion, thus enhancing the structural security of the material for use in super-intense laser facility applications. | Xue Yan Cheng Zhang Yangshuai Li Youjian Yi Ziruo Cui Bingyuan Han | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,11: | 0
Recent developments of neuroprotective agents for degenerative retinal disorders显示文摘Retinal degeneration is a debilitating ocular complication characterized by the progressive loss of photoreceptors and other retinal neurons, which are caused by a group of retinal diseases affecting various age groups, and increasingly prevalent in the elderly.Age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma are among the most common complex degenerative retinal disorders, posing significant public health problems worldwide largely due to the aging society and the lack of effective therapeutics.Whilst pathoetiologies vary,if left untreated, loss of retinal neurons can result in an acquired degeneration and ultimately severe visual impairment.Irrespective of underlined etiology, loss of neurons and supporting cells including retinal pigment epithelium, microvascular endothelium, and glia, converges as the common endpoint of retinal degeneration and therefore discovery or repurposing of therapies to protect retinal neurons directly or indirectly are under intensive investigation. This review overviews recent developments of potential neuroprotectants including neuropeptides,exosomes,mitochondrial-derived peptides, complement inhibitors, senolytics, autophagy enhancers and antioxidants either still experimentally or in clinical trials.Effective treatments that possess direct or indirect neuroprotective properties would significantly lift the burden of visual handicap. | Kepeng Ou Youjian Li Ling Liu Hua Li Katherine Cox Jiahui Wu Jian Liu Andrew D.Dick | 2022 | Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,9: | 0
