| 1 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 2 | Influence of starch sources and dietary protein levels on intestinal functionality and intestinal mucosal amino acids catabolism in broiler chickens显示文摘Background: There is growing interest in carbohydrate and protein nutrition to enhance the efficiency of animal production.Reduced-crude protein diets depress environmental pollution and feeding cost,but the challenge to their adoption is maintaining digestive function and growth performance of birds.The present study was conducted to evaluate the influence of different dietary starch sources and protein levels on intestinal functionality and mucosal amino acid catabolism.Methods: Six dietary treatments,based on maize and soybean meal,were offered to 360 AA+male chicks from 6 to 35 d post-hatch as a 3 × 2 factorial array.Either waxy rice or amylose was added to a conventional maize-soy diet to provide three sources of starch with different digestion rates and relatively high and low dietary protein levels.Growth performance,parameters of intestinal functionality and concentrations of free amino acid in the portal circulation were determined.Results: In the grower phase,starch source influenced(P < 0.02) weight gain as diets containing amylose supported significantly higher weight gains than waxy rice.Significant increase of ileal ATP concentrations and Na^+/K^+-ATPase activity were found in amylose treatment.Also,amylose decreased BrdU positive cell numbers and down-regulated m RNA expression for CASP-3.GOT activity in the ileum was higher(P < 0.01) in birds offered low protein diets and there was a trend(P = 0.057) for waxy rice as a starch source to increase ileal GOT activities.There was a significant influence on the concentration of seventeen amino acids in the portal circulation with tryptophan the one exception.Waxy rice as a starch source generated 13.6% and 22.4% numerically higher concentrations of non-essential amino acids than maize and amylose,respectively.Conclusions: Amino acid catabolism in the gut mucosa is subject to nutritional regulation.Given that amino acids can be spared from catabolism in the gut mucosa by supplementation of amylose,it follows their post-enteral availability would be improved and intestinal energy would be derived more efficiently from glucose. | Dafei Yin Peter H.Selle Amy F.Moss Youli Wang Xiaoyu Dong Zhibin Xiao Yuming Guo Jianmin Yuan | 2019 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2019,10,3: | 10 |

In order to improve the detection probability and accuracy, a fuzzy Q learning algorithm for dualaircraft flight path planning is proposed. The passive detection task model of the dual-aircraft is set up based on the partition of the target active radar's radiation area. The problem is formulated as a Markov decision process(MDP) by using the fuzzy theory to make a generalization of the state space and defining the transition functions, action space and reward function properly. Details of the path planning algorithm are presented. | 6 | Methionine deficiency and its hydroxy analogue influence chicken intestinal 3-dimensional organoid development显示文摘Methionine and its hydroxy analogue(MHA)have been shown to benefit mouse intestinal regeneration.The intestinal organoid is a good model that directly reflects the impact of certain nutrients or chemicals on intestinal development.Here,we aimed to establish a chicken intestinal organoid culture method first and then use the model to explore the influence of methionine deficiency and MHA on intestinal organoid development.The results showed that 125-mm cell strainer exhibited the highest efficiency for chicken embryo crypt harvesting.We found that transforming growth factor-b inhibitor(A8301)supplementation promoted enterocyte differentiation at the expense of the proliferation of intestinal stem cells(ISC).The mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 inhibitor(SB202190)promoted intestinal organoid formation and enterocyte differentiation but suppressed the differentiation of enteroendocrine cells,goblet cells and Paneth cells.However,the suppression of enteroendocrine cell and Paneth cell differentiation by SB202190 was alleviated at the presence of A8301.The glycogen synthase kinase 3 inhibitor(CHIR99021),valproic acid(VPA)alone and their combination promoted chicken intestinal organoid formation and enterocyte differentiation at the expense of the expression of Paneth cells and goblet cells.Chicken serum significantly improved organoid formation,especially in the presence of A8301,SB202190,CHIR99021,and VPA,but inhibited the differentiation of Paneth cells and enteroendocrine cells.Chicken serum at a concentration of 0.25%meets the requirement of chicken intestinal organoid development,and the beneficial effect of chicken serum on chicken intestinal organoid culture could not be replaced by fetal bovine serum and insulin-like growth factor-1.Moreover,commercial mouse organoid culture medium supplemented with A8301,SB202190,CHIR99021,VPA,and chicken serum promotes chicken organoid budding.Based on the chicken intestinal organoid model,we found that methionine deficiency mimicked by cycloleucine suppressed organoid formation and organoid size,and this effect was reinforced with increased cycloleucine concentrations.Methionine hydroxy analogue promoted regeneration of ISC but decreased cell differentiation compared with the results obtained with L-methionine.In conclusion,our results provide a potentially excellent guideline for chicken intestinal organoid culture and insights into methionine function in crypt development. | Youli Wang Qihang Hou Yuqin Wu Yanwei Xu Yan Liu Jing Chen Lingling Xu Yuming Guo Shuai Gao Jianmin Yuan | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,1: | 4 |
| 7 | 8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin intervenes with neural cell apoptosis following diffuse axonal injury显示文摘Previous studies have reported a neuroprotective effect of 8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin (8-OH-DPAT) against traumatic brain injury. In accordance with the Marmarou method, rat models of diffuse axonal injury were established. 8-OH-DPAT was intraperitoneally injected into model rats 8-OH-DPAT treated rats maintained at constant temperature served as normal temperature controls TUNEL results revealed that neural cell swelling, brain tissue necrosis and cell apoptosis occurred around the injured tissue. Moreover, the number of Bax-, Bcl-2- and caspase-3-positive cells increased at 6 hours after diffuse axonal injury, and peaked at 24 hours. However, brain injury was attenuated, the number of apoptotic cells reduced, Bax and caspase-3 expression decreased, and Bcl-2 expression increased at 6, 12, 24, 72 and 168 hours after diffuse axonal injury in normal temperature control and in 8-OH-DPAT-intervention rats. The difference was most significant at 24 hours. All indices in 8-OH-DPAT-intervention rats were better than those in the constant temperature group. These results suggest that 8-OH-DPAT inhibits Bax and caspase-3 expression, increases Bcl-2 expression, and reduces neural cell apoptosis, resulting in neuroprotection against diffuse axonal injury. | 9 | Long-term variations of X-ray pulse profiles for the Crab pulsar:data analysis and modeling显示文摘The pulse profiles of the Crab pulsar(as well as some other pulsars)vary with time.They can lead to a major source of intrinsic timing noise,which lacks a detailed physical model.The phase separation?between the first left peak(P1)and the second right peak(P2)is a key parameter that shows the variations of pulse profiles for the Crab pulsar.It was found that the evolution of?has a tendency with increasing rates of 0.82?±0.25?,0.80?±0.54?,and 0.77?±0.28?per century for the 2-6,6-15,and15-60 ke V bands,respectively.Furthermore,the flux ratios(P2/P1)of X-ray pulse profiles in the three bands were calculated,and the derived flux ratios were consistent with the radio and X-ray measurements of the Insight-HXMT.In addition to discovering the physical origin of the pulse changes,the high-SNR X-ray pulse profiles were simulated in the annular gap model,and two model parameters(e.g.,the maximum emission heights of the two peaks)were observed to slightly affect the variations of peak separation.We fitted the long-term variations of emission heights of the two peaks and discovered that the emission heights showed increasing tendencies with time.Variations of these emission heights induced a characteristic period derivative,and a complete formula for both the magnetic dipole radiation and wind-particle-induced variations of the moment of inertia was used for the pulsar’s spin-down to obtain the variation rate˙αof the magnetic inclination angle,which was-1.60?per century.Intrinsic timing noise is observed to be mainly induced by the variations of pulse profiles,which might correlate with a characteristic spin period derivative arising from the fluctuations of the emission regions.This work will lay a foundation for understanding the origin of intrinsic timing noise and making high-precision timing models in the future. | LunHua Shang YuanJie Du XiangQun Cui ShiJun Dang JiGuang Lu JunTao Bai QiJun Zhi YouLi Tuo LinLi Yan LiangWei Huang XinYuan Zhang XiaoMin Bei QingQing Lin GuoJun Qiao Hua Shen RiHong Zhu | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,10: | 2 |

| 12 | Holocene slip rate and paleoearthquake records of the Salt Lake segment of the Northern Zhongtiaoshan Fault, Shanxi Province显示文摘The Northern Zhongtiaoshan Fault is a major deep fault at the southern margin of the Yuncheng Basin. There have been few studies on the fault, and the historical earthquakes are few and weak. However, the intensity of activity on the fault should never be underestimated. Through interpretations of aerial images, topography measurements and excavation of trenches, this paper studied the fault distribution, the surface deformation and the activity of the normal fault south of Salt Lake near the city of Yuncheng. By tracing faults in the three trenches, it was found that there had been at least three large paleoseismic events, at 1–3.5, 3.6–4.4 and 7.4–8.8 ka BP. Employing 14 C dating, we determined the same gravel layers in the uplifted side and downthrown side. Making differential Global Positioning System measurements of the vertical difference and topographic profile, we obtained the mean slip rate of the Northern Zhongtiaoshan Fault since 24.7 ka BP(0.75±0.05 mm/a). | 13 | Comprehensive relative quantitative metabolomics analysis of lycopodium alkaloids in different tissues of Huperzia serrata显示文摘Qian ceng Ta,the whole plant of Huperzia serrata,is an important landscape and medicinal herbs and contains abundant bioactive lycopodium alkaloids.Although the structures of more than 100 lycopodium alkaloids in Huperzia serrata have been isolated and identified,the content and distribution of these alkaloids in different tissues are still unclear.In current study,an ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry based comprehensive metabolomics strategy was developed,including the extraction,separation,identification,and statistical analysis.The results showed that different types lycopodium alkaloids could be separated at different time-windows,which was helpful for further metabolite identification.Peak4388 and peak3954 were metabolite biomarkers for the different tissues according to the principle component analysis and partial least squares-discriminant analysis model.A computational tool based in-house database was also built up and used for putative identification.Of the 2354 true peaks after four-step filtration,118 peaks were putatively identified as lycopodium alkaloids by using in-house database,and four of which was identified by authentic standards.Alternatively,another computational software was used to predict the fragmentation pattern,to dereplicate the structure of identified peaks,and identified the peak3585 to N-methylhuperzine A.The integration of both computational tools could be used for more metabolites identification. | Shiwen Wu Zhen Fan Youli Xiao | 2018 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2018,3,1: | 2 |

| 16 | Human Bop is a novel BH3-only member of the Bcl-2 protein family显示文摘One group of Bcl-2 protein family,which shares only the BH3 domain(BH3-only),is critically involved in the regulation of programmed cell death.Herein we demonstrated a novel human BH3-only protein(designated as Bop)which could induce apoptosis in a BH3 domain-dependent manner.Further analysis indicated that Bop mainly localized to mitochondria and used its BH3 domain to contact the loop regions of voltage dependent anion channel 1(VDAC1)in the outer mitochondrial membrane.In addition,purified Bop protein induced the loss of mitochondrial transmembrane potential(ΔΨm)and the release of cytochrome c.Furthermore,Bop used its BH3 domain to contact pro-survival Bcl-2 family members(Bcl-2,Bcl-XL,Mcl-1,A1 and Bcl-w),which could inhibit Bop-induced apoptosis.Bop would be constrained by pro-survival Bcl-2 proteins in resting cells,because Bop became released from phosphorylated Bcl-2 induced by microtubule-interfering agent like vincristine(VCR).Indeed,knockdown experiments indicated that Bop was partially required for VCR induced cell death.Finally,Bop might need to function through Bak and Bax,likely by releasing Bak from Bcl-XL sequestration.In conclusion,Bop may be a novel BH3-only factor that can engage with the regulatory network of Bcl-2 family members to process intrinsic apoptotic signaling. | Xiaoping Zhang Changjiang Weng Yuan Li Xiaoyan Wang Chunsun Jiang Xuemei Li Youli Xu Quan Chen Lei Pan Hong Tang | 2012 | Protein & Cell2012,3,10: | 2 |
