| 1 | The Inhibitory Effect of Oridonin on the Growth of Fifteen Human Cancer Cell Lines显示文摘OBJECTIVE To study the inhibitory effect of oridonin on the growth of cancer cells. METHODS Fifteen human cancer cell lines were subjected to various concentrations of oridonin in culture medium. The inhibitory rate of cell growth was measured by the MTT assay, and compared with a negative con- trol and 5-Fu-positive control. RESULTS The 50% inhibiting concentration (IC50) and maximal inhibition (Imax) of oridonin shown by studying the growth of the cancer cell lines were as follows: leukemias (HL60 cells: 3.9 μg/ml and 73.8%, K562 cells: 4.3 μg/ml and 76.2%); esophageal cancers(SHEEC cells: 15.4 μg/ml and 99.2%, Eca109 cells: 15.1 μg/ml and 84.6%, TE1 cells: 4.0 μg/ml and 70.2%); gastric cancers (BGC823 cells: 7.6 μg/ml and 98.7%, SGC7901 cells: 12.3 μg/ml and 85.7%); colon cancers (HT29 cells: 13.6 μg/ml and 97.2%, HCT cells: 14.5 μg/ml and 96.5%); liver cancers (Bel7402 cells: 15.2 μg/ml and 89.2%, HepG2 cells: 7.1 μg/ml and 88.3%); pancreatic cancer (PC3 cells: 11.3 μg/ml and 68.4%); lung cancer (A549 cells: 18.6 μg/ml and 98.0% ); breast cancer (MCF7 cells: 18.4 μg/ml and 84.7%); uterine cervix cancer (Hela cells: 13.7 μg/ml and 98.5%). CONCLUSION Oridonin had a relatively wide anti-tumor spectrum, and a relatively strong inhibitory effect on the growth of the 15 human cancer cells. | 2 | Inspection of reinforced concrete interface delamination using ultrasonic guided wave non-destructive test technique显示文摘An ultrasonic-guided wave(UGW) is a very promising tool in the field of structural health monitoring and non-destructive test.Numerical analysis was used to simulate the propagation in the rebar and explore the characteristics of UGW in the steel rebar waveguide.Two-dimensional fast Fourier transform was used to process the numerical results and to evaluate the damage.Subsequently,different UGW test influence factors were investigated.The results clearly showed that both the group velocity and the amplitude of longitudinal modes were not very sensitive to stress and temperature variations.However,the received UGW signal energy decreased with the increasing concrete strength.Finally,the interface condition between the concrete and the rebar was investigated.Time-domain and frequency-domain analyses were used to process the received signals.Different interface delamination lengths of the UGW energy attenuation were analyzed and a relationship was obtained.This study successfully proved that UGW is an effective tool in the non-destructive test of reinforced concrete interface delamination. | LI DongSheng RUAN Tao YUAN JunHui | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,10: | 6 |
| 3 | Effects of splined shaft bending rigidity on cylinder tilt behaviour for high-speed electrohydrostatic actuator pumps显示文摘High-speed axial piston pumps are hydraulic power supplies for electro-hydrostatic actuators(EHAs). The efficiency of a pump directly affects the operating performance of an EHA, and an understanding of the physical phenomena occurring in the cylinder/valve plate interface is essential to investigate energy dissipation. The effects of the splined shaft bending rigidity on the cylinder tilt behaviour in an EHA pump need to be considered, because the deflection and radial expansion of a steel shaft rotating at a high speed cannot be ignored. This paper proposes a new mathematical model to predict the cylinder tilt behaviour by establishing a quantitative relationship between the splined shaft deflection, the cylinder tilt angle, and the tilt azimuth angle. The moments exerted by the splined shaft are included in the equilibrium equation of the cylinder. The effects of solid and hollow splined shafts equipped in an EHA pump prototype are compared at variable speeds of 5000–10,000 r/min. With a weight saving of 29.7%, the hollow shaft is experimentally found to have almost no influence on the volumetric efficiency, but to reduce the mechanical efficiency by 0.6–2.4%. The results agree with the trivial differences of the simulated central gap heights of the interface between the two shafts and the enlargement of the simulated tilt angles by the hollow shaft. | 4 | Enhancing phosphorus uptake efficiency through QTL-based selection for root system architecture in maize显示文摘Root system architecture(RSA) plays an important role in phosphorus(P) acquisition,but enhancing P use efficiency(PUE) in maize via genetic manipulation of RSA has not yet been reported.Here,using a maize recombinant inbred line(RIL) population,we investigated the genetic relationships between PUE and RSA,and developed P-efficient lines by selection of quantitative trait loci(QTLs) that coincide for both traits.In low-P(LP) fields,P uptake efficiency(Pup E) was more closely correlated with PUE(r =0.48-0.54),and RSA in hydroponics was significantly related to Pup E(r=0.25-0.30) but not to P utilization efficiency(Put E).QTL analysis detected a chromosome region where two QTLs for PUE,three for Pup E and three for RSA were assigned into two QTL clusters,Cl-bin3.04 a and Cl-bin3.04 b.These QTLs had favorable effects from alleles derived from the large-rooted and high-Pup E parent.Marker-assisted selection(MAS) identified nine advanced backcross-derived lines carrying Cl-bin3.04 a or Cl-bin3.04 b that displayed mean increases of 22%e26% in PUE in LP fields.Furthermore,a line L224 pyramiding Clbin3.04 a and Cl-bin3.04 b showed enhanced Pup E,relying mainly on changes in root morphology,rather than root physiology,under both hydroponic and field conditions.These results highlight the physiological and genetic contributions of RSA to maize Pup E,and provide a successful study case of developing P-efficient crops through QTL-based selection. | Riliang Gu Fanjun Chen Lizhi Long Hongguang Cai Zhigang Liu Jiabo Yang Lifeng Wang Huiyong Li Junhui Li Wenxin Liu Guohua Mi Fusuo Zhang Lixing Yuan | 2016 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2016,43,11: | 3 |

| 10 | Lorentz factor estimation for radio sources显示文摘In this paper, a sample including 68 blazars (18 BL Lacs and 50 FSRQs) with known Doppler factors and superluminal velocity from our previous papers is presented. Both the Lorentz factors (Γ) and viewing angles (θ) are estimated for the 68 sources. The relationship between BL Lacs and FSRQs is also revisited using the two variables of Γ and θ. The Lorenz factors are in the range of 2.33 to 64.07. The viewing angles are in the range of 0.04 to 24.56. | 12 | Effective spectral index properties for Fermi blazars显示文摘Blazars are a special subclass of active galactic nuclei with extreme observation properties. This subclass can be divided into two further subclasses of flat spectrum radio quasars(FSRQs) and BL Lacertae objects(BL Lacs) according to their emission line features. To compare the spectral properties of FSRQs and BL Lacs, the 1.4 GHz radio, optical R-band, 1 keV X-ray, and 1 GeVy-ray flux densities for 1108 Fermi blazars are calculated to discuss the properties of the six effective spectral indices of radio to optical(α_(RO)), radio to X-ray(α_(RX)), radio to y ray(α_(Ry)), optical to X-ray(α_(OX)), optical to y ray(α_(Oy)), and X-ray to y ray(α_(Xy)).The main results are as follows: For the averaged effective spectral indices, α_(OX_> α_(Oy)> α_(Xy)> α_(Ry)> α_(RX)> α_(RO) for samples of whole blazars and BL Lacs; α_(Xy)≈α_(Ry)≈α_(RX) for FSRQs and low-frequency-peaked BL Lacs(LBLs); and α_(OX)≈α_(Oy)≈α_(Xy) for high-synchrotron-frequency-peaked BL Lacs(HBLs). The distributions of the effective spectral indices involving optical emission(α_(RO), α_(OX), and α_(Oy)) for LBLs are different from those for FSRQs, but if the effective spectral index does not involve optical emission(α_(RX), α_(Ry), and α_(Xy)), the distributions for LBLs and FSRQs almost come from the same parent population. X-ray emissions from blazars include both synchrotron and inverse Compton (IC) components; the IC component for FSRQs and LBLs accounts for a larger proportion than that for HBLs; and the radiation mechanism for LBLs is similar to that for FSRQs, but the radiation mechanism for HBLs is different from that for both FSRQs and LBLs in X-ray bands. | 13 | Radio spectral index of BL Lac objects显示文摘In this paper, the preliminary data from University of Michigan Radio Astronomy Observatory database (UMRAO) are used to discuss the radio spectral index properties of 8 BL Lacs. To do so, we calculated the radio spectral index, α (F∝να), which was obtained by fitting the averaged flux densities in the bands (4.8 GHZ, 8 GHz, and 14.5 GHz) by binning the original for 7 d. We also calculated the time delay between the averaged lightcurves and the spectral variance. | 15 | Comparison between Fermi detected and non-Fermi detected superluminal sources显示文摘Active galactic nuclei(AGNs) have been attracting research attention due to their special observable properties. Specifically,a majority of AGNs are detected by Fermi-LAT missions, but not by Fermi-LAT, which raises the question of weather any differences exist between the two. To answer this issue, we compile a sample of 291 superluminal AGNs(189 FDSs and 102 nonFDSs) from available multi-wavelength radio, optical, and X-ray(or even γ-ray) data and Doppler factors and proper motion(μ)(or apparent velocity(βapp));calculated the apparent velocity from their proper motion, Lorentz factor(Γ), viewing angle(Ф) and co-moving viewing angle(Фco) for the sources with available Doppler factor(δ);and performed some statistical analyses for both types. Our study indicated that(1) in terms of average values, FDSs have higher proper motions(μ), apparent velocities(βapp),Doppler factor(δ), Lorentz factor(Γ), and smaller viewing angle(Ф). Nevertheless, there is no clear difference in co-moving viewing angles(Ф∞). The results reveal that FDSs show stronger beaming effect than non-FDSs.(2) In terms of correlations:1) both sources show positive, mutually correlated fluxes, which become closer in de-beamed fluxes;2) with respect to apparent velocities and γ-ray luminosity, there is a tendency for the brighter sources to have higher velocities;3) with regard to viewing angle and observed γ-ray luminosity, logФ=-(0.23 ± 0.04)log Lγ+(11.14 ± 1.93), while for the co-moving viewing angle and the intrinsic γ-ray luminosity, logФ∞=(0.09 ± 0.01)log Lγ^in-(1.73 ± 0.48). | 18 | Shear Induced Seepage and Heat Transfer Evolution in a Single-Fractured Hot-Dry-Rock显示文摘In the enhanced geothermal system(EGS),the injected fluid will induce shear sliding of rock fractures(i.e.,hydroshearing),which consequently,would increase the fracture aperture and improve the heat transfer efficiency of the geothermal reservoir.In this study,theoretical analysis,experimental research and numerical simulation were performed to uncover the permeability and heat transfer enhancement mechanism of the Hot-Dry-Rock(HDR)mass under the impact of shearing.By conducting the direct shear test with the fractured rock samples,the evolution process of fracture aperture during the shearing tests was observed,during which process,cubic law was adopted to depict the rock fracture permeability.To investigate the seepage characteristics and temperature distribution of the fractured HDR under the influence of shearing,a simulation study of shear-seepage-heat transfer in a fractured rock mass has been conducted to validate the observed shear-induced fracture dilation during the direct shear test.The results demonstrate that(1)the hydroshearing increases the dilation of granite fracture and enhances the permeability of the HDR rock mass,while the temperature around the HDR fracture will reduce.(2)Fracture roughness is of vital importance to enhance the permeability during the shearing tests.To be more specific,a rougher fracture always implies a higher permeability and a greater heat extraction efficiency.(3)The shear induced heat extracting efficiency is dominated by the increased fluid flux in the earlier period of the EGS reservoir,and this efficiency is controlled by the outlet water temperature since the fluid flux becomes stable after the shearing test.Therefore,balancing the hydroshearing enhanced heat extraction efficiency and EGS reservoir lifespan would be significant to the sustainable development and utilization of geothermal energy. | Hongwei Zhang Zhijun Wan Yixin Zhao Yuan Zhang Yulong Chen Junhui Wang Jingyi Cheng | 2021 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,2: | 0 |
| 19 | A family of flexible two-dimensional semiconductors:MgMX2Y6(M=Ti/Zr/Hf;X=Si/Ge;Y=S/Se/Te)显示文摘Inspired by the recently predicted 2D MX_(2)Y_(6)(M=metal element;X=Si/Ge/Sn;Y=S/Se/Te),we explore the possible applications of alkaline earth metal(using magnesium as example)in this family based on the idea of element replacement and valence electron balance.Herein,we report a new family of 2D quaternary compounds,namely MgMX_(2)Y_(6)(M=Ti/Zr/Hf;X=Si/Ge;Y=S/Se/Te)monolayers,with superior kinetic,thermodynamic and mechanical stability.In addition,our results indicate that MgMX_(2)Y_(6)monolayers are all indirect band gap semiconductors with band gap values ranging from 0.870 to 2.500 eV.Moreover,the band edges and optical properties of 2D MgMX_(2)Y_(6)are suitable for constructing multifunctional optoelectronic devices.Furthermore,for comparison,the mechanical,electronic and optical properties of In_(2)X_(2)Y_(6)monolayers have been discussed in detail.The success of introducing Mg into the 2D MX_(2)Y_(6)family indicates that more potential materials,such as Caand Sr-based 2D MX_(2)Y_(6)monolayers,may be discovered in the future.Therefore,this work not only broadens the existing family of 2D semiconductors,but it also provides beneficial results for the future. | Junhui Yuan Kanhao Xue Xiangshui Miao Lei Ye | 2023 | Journal of Semiconductors2023,44,4: | 0 |
| 20 | Effect of supports on the redox performance of pyrite cinder in chemical looping combustion显示文摘Chemical looping combustion(CLC)is a clean and efficient flame-free combustion technology,which combust the fuels by lattice oxygen from a solid oxygen carrier with inherent CO_(2)capture.The development of oxygen carriers with low cost and high redox performance is crucial to the whole efficiency of CLC process.As the solid by-product from the sulfuric acid production,pyrite cinder presented excellent redox performance as an oxygen carrier in CLC process.The main components in pyrite cinder are Fe_(2)O_(3),CaSO_(4),Al_(2)O_(3)and SiO_(2)in which Fe_(2)O_(3)is the active component to provide lattice oxygen.In order to systematic investigate the functions of supports(CaSO_4,Al_(2)O_(3)and SiO_(2))in pyrite cinder,three oxygen carriers(Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaSO_(4),Fe_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)and Fe_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2))were prepared and evaluated in this study.The results showed that Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaSO_(4) displayed high redox activity and cycling stability in the multiple redox cycles.However,both Fe_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)and Fe_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)experienced serious deactivation during redox reactions.It indicated that the inert Fe-Si solid solution(Fe_(2)SiO_(4))was formed in the spent Fe_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)sample,which decreased the oxygen carrying capacity of this sample.The XPS results showed that the oxygen species on the surface of Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaSO_(4) could be fully recovered after the 20 redox cycles.It can be concluded that CaSO_(4) is the key to the high redox activity and cycling stability of pyrite cinder. | Zhong Ma Chuan Yuan Shuai Zhang Yonggang Lu Junhui Xiong | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,9: | 0 |
