| 1 | The Inhibitory Effect of Oridonin on the Growth of Fifteen Human Cancer Cell Lines显示文摘OBJECTIVE To study the inhibitory effect of oridonin on the growth of cancer cells. METHODS Fifteen human cancer cell lines were subjected to various concentrations of oridonin in culture medium. The inhibitory rate of cell growth was measured by the MTT assay, and compared with a negative con- trol and 5-Fu-positive control. RESULTS The 50% inhibiting concentration (IC50) and maximal inhibition (Imax) of oridonin shown by studying the growth of the cancer cell lines were as follows: leukemias (HL60 cells: 3.9 μg/ml and 73.8%, K562 cells: 4.3 μg/ml and 76.2%); esophageal cancers(SHEEC cells: 15.4 μg/ml and 99.2%, Eca109 cells: 15.1 μg/ml and 84.6%, TE1 cells: 4.0 μg/ml and 70.2%); gastric cancers (BGC823 cells: 7.6 μg/ml and 98.7%, SGC7901 cells: 12.3 μg/ml and 85.7%); colon cancers (HT29 cells: 13.6 μg/ml and 97.2%, HCT cells: 14.5 μg/ml and 96.5%); liver cancers (Bel7402 cells: 15.2 μg/ml and 89.2%, HepG2 cells: 7.1 μg/ml and 88.3%); pancreatic cancer (PC3 cells: 11.3 μg/ml and 68.4%); lung cancer (A549 cells: 18.6 μg/ml and 98.0% ); breast cancer (MCF7 cells: 18.4 μg/ml and 84.7%); uterine cervix cancer (Hela cells: 13.7 μg/ml and 98.5%). CONCLUSION Oridonin had a relatively wide anti-tumor spectrum, and a relatively strong inhibitory effect on the growth of the 15 human cancer cells. | 2 | The next generation models for crops and agro-ecosystems显示文摘Growth in population, decrease in arable land area, and change in climate are endangering our food security. Precision agriculture has the potential to increase crop productivity thorough tailored agricultural practices for different growing areas. Many models of crops and agro-ecosystems capable of predicting interaction between plants and environments have been developed for precision agriculture. Currently, there are several representative categories of crop and agro-ecosystem models, including the de Wit school models, the DSSAT series models and the APSIM series models, which have contributed substantially to improvement of agricultural practices. However, these models are weak in predicting performances of crops under environmental and genetic perturbations are generally weak, which severely limits the application of these models in guiding precision agriculture. We need to develop the next generation crop and agro-ecosystems models with a high level of mechanistic basis, which can be integrated with high throughput data and can predict the heterogeneity of environmental factors inside canopy and dynamic canopy photosynthesis. In developing such a model close collaboration is inevitably required among scientists from different disciplines. The successful development and application of such models will undoubtedly advance precision agriculture through providing better agronomical practices tailored for different growing environments. | 4 | A modified scar model with controlled tension on secondary wound healing in mice显示文摘Pathological scars might cause a distorted appearance and restricted mobility,and the study of scar pathophysiology has been hindered by the absence of a reliable model.In this study,we introduce a model with a modified device to induce controlled tension on a wound healing by secondary intention to overcome the shortcomings of the model generated by Aarabi et al.We investigated and recommend an induction of 0.1 N/mm^(2) tension on day 7 for 14 days to mimic the characteristics of human scars.A 3.5-fold increase in scar tissue and a 2-fold increase in collagen production were induced by the modified model.Histologically,the modified method increased scar thickness.However,no significant difference was found in cell density between the two groups.This modified procedure significantly increased scar tissue,which could be used for further cellular and biomolecular research.The mechanical force applied to the wound became measurable and controllable.This method is more convenient for researchers to observe in realtime and for providing timely adjustments of the tension used in this modified model. | Zi Wang Xin Huang Tao Zan Qingfeng Li Haizhou Li | 2020 | Burns & Trauma2020,8,1: | 2 |

| 6 | Ultra strong and ductile eutectic high entropy alloy fabricated by selective laser melting显示文摘With important application prospects, eutectic high entropy alloys have received extensive attention for their excellent strength and ductility in a large temperature range. The excellent casting characteristics of eutectic high entropy alloys make it possible to achieve well manufacturability of selective laser melting.For the first time, we have achieved crack-free eutectic high entropy alloy fabricated by selective laser melting, which has excellent mechanical properties in a wide temperature range from -196 ℃ to 760 ℃ due to ultra-fine eutectic lamellar spacing of 150–200 nm and lamellar colony of 2–6 μm. | 7 | Genome-wide profiling of histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation and its modification in response to chilling stress in grapevine leaves显示文摘Histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation(H3K27me3) is a histone modification associated with transcriptional repression. However, insights into the genome-wide pattern of H3K27me3 in grapevines are limited. Here, anti-H3K27 chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP), high-throughput sequencing, and transcriptome analysis were performed using leaves of Vitis amurensis. The leaves were treated at 4°C for 2 h and 24 h and used to investigate changes in H3K27me3 under chilling treatment. The results show that H3K27me3 is well-distributed both in gene regions(-50%) and in the intergenic region(-50%) in the grapevine genome(Vitis vinifera ‘Pinot Noir PN40024'). H3K27me3 was found to be localized in8 368 annotated gene regions in all detected samples(leaves at normal temperature and under chilling treatments) and mainly enriched in gene bodies with the adjacent promoter and downstream areas. The short-term chilling treatments(4°C for 2 h) induced 2 793 gains and 305losses in H3K27me3 modification. Subsequently, 97.3% of the alterations were restored to original levels after 24 h treatment. The ChIP-qPCR for five differential peaks showed similar results to the data for ChIP-seq, indicating that the chilling-induced H3K27me3 modification is reliable.Integrative analysis of transcriptome and ChIP-seq results showed that the expression of H3K27me3 target genes was significantly lower than those of non-target genes, indicating transcriptional repression of H3K27me3 in grapevine leaves. Furthermore, histone methylation alterations were detected in 82 genes and were related to either repression or activation of their expression during chilling stress. | 8 | The study on psychological resilience of tinnitus and associated influencing factors显示文摘The association between tinnitus and psychological resilience is an underdeveloped area of research.This cross-sectional study investigated such associations and factors potentially affecting resilience in 61 patients.Demographic and psychometric data were collected by questionnaires.The ConnoreDavidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ),Satisfaction with Life Scale(SWLS),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),Big Five Inventory(BFI)and Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)were completed by participants.Data were analyzed using independent t-test and Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple linear regression modeling.The CD-RISC score was relatively low(66.97±15.71),negatively correlated with tinnitus(r=0.276,p<0.001)and associated with age(r=0.270,P<0.001).As protective factors,SWLS(r=0.486,p<0.001),GSES(r=0.555,p<0.001),PSSS(r=0.538,p<0.001)and extraversion were positively correlated with CD-RISC and BFI scores(r=0.287,p<0.001).We also detected a negative correlation with neuroticism(r=0.395,p<0.001),which is a known risk factor for worse CD-RISC scores.Identifying protective and risk factors for psychological resilience can be used to predict treatment outcomes in tinnitus patients,which will help devise personalized solutions and improve patients'quality of life. | Feng Xin Qingfeng Li Fangling Guan Minli Suo Jie Yang Dan Li Changqing Zhao | 2022 | Journal of Otology2022,17,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Geochemistry of rare earth elements and yttrium in Late Permian coals from the Zhongliangshan coalfield, southwestern China显示文摘Rare earth elements and yttrium(REY)in coal deposits are considered promising alternative sources for these resources owing to their increasing global demand.This paper reports the geochemical characteristics of REY in the Late Permian coals from an underground K1a seam section of the Zhongliangshan coalfield in Chongqing,southwestern China.The mineralogy,degree of enrichment,distribution patterns,modes of occurrence,and sediment origin of REY were investigated.Compared with the average of world coals,the concentration of REY in the K1a coals were normal,dominated by light REY(LREY),with less medium and heavy REY(MREY,HREY).The fractionation degree of the MREY and HREY are higher than that of LREY in most K1a coal samples,deduced from the mixed enrichment type of REY,mainly including M-H-type,and a few L-M type and H-type.In addition,the combination of anomalies of Ce,Eu,Gd,and Al_(2)O_(3)/TiO_(2) parameters,the terrigenous materials in the K1a coal were derived from the felsic-intermediate rocks at the top of the Emeishan basalt sequence,and the samples were affected by seawater intrusion during early peat accumulation.Although the minerals primarily consist of kaolinite,illite,pyrite,and small amounts of quartz,calcite and anatase,REY are correlated with ash yield,SiO2,and Al_(2)O_(3),revealing that the REY mainly occur in aluminosilicate minerals,especially kaolinite and illite.Meanwhile,REY positively relate to P_(2)O_(5) and Zr,which may exist in phosphate-containing minerals or zircon.Furthermore,most samples in the K1a coal or ash do not reach the cut-off grade for the beneficial recovery of REY.With the exception of central Guizhou,southwestern Chongqing,and the junction of western Guizhou and northeastern Yunnan,the REY content in coals from southwestern China are high,and its by-products are suitable as potential REY sources. | Qingfeng LU Shenjun QIN Hongyang BAI Wenfeng WANG De’e QI Xin HE Bofei ZHANG | 2023 | Frontiers of Earth Science2023,17,1: | 0 |

| 15 | Channel modeling and influenced factor analysis of the broadband dual-orthogonal polarized MIMO land mobile satellite channel显示文摘An accurate, complete and realistic channel model is required to accurately analyze the system performance of a multiple input multiple output(MIMO) broadband satellite mobile communication system with dual-orthogonal polarized antennas(DPAs).In most current studies, the channel characteristic matrix(CCM) is always formed by an independent identical distribution(i.i.d) model of Rayleigh or Rice distribution and nevertheless incomplete and inaccurate to describe a broadband dual-orthogonal polarized MIMO land mobile satellite(BDM-LMS) channel. This paper focuses on establishing the BDM-LMS channel statistical model,which combines the 4-state broadband LMS channel model, the time selective fading features, the channel covariance information(CCI) channel model and polarization correlations between antennas. The modeling steps of the channel model are introduced.The main emphasis is placed on the effects of the factors, such as antenna numbers, temporal correlations, terminal environments,elevation angles and polarization correlations between the DPAs,on the channel capacity in the BDM-LMS system. Many simulation results are provided to illustrate the effects of these factors through comparisons of the transmit rate, ergodic capacity and outage capacity with different factor values.
