1The role of maize root size in phosphorus uptake and productivity of maize/faba bean and maize/wheat intercropping systems显示文摘Interspecific root/rhizosphere interactions affect phosphorus (P) uptake and the productivity of maize/faba bean and maize/wheat intercropping systems. The aim of these experiments was to determine whether manipulation of maize root growth could improve the productivity of the two intercropping systems. Two near isogenic maize hybrids (the larger-rooted T149 and smaller-rooted T222) were intercropped with faba bean and wheat, under conditions of high- and low-P availability. The larger-rooted T149 showed greater competitive ability than the smaller-rooted T222 in both maize/faba bean and maize/wheat intercropping systems. The higher competitive ability of T149 improved the productivity of the maize/faba bean intercropping system in P-sufficient conditions. In maize/wheat intercropping systems, root growth, shoot biomass, and P uptake of maize were inhibited by wheat, regardless of the P-supply. Compared with T222, the larger-rooted T149 suffered less in the intercropping systems. The total biomass of the maize/wheat intercropping system was higher for wheat/T149 than for wheat/T222 under low-P conditions. These data suggested that genetic improvement of maize root size could enhance maize growth and its ability to compete for P resources in maize/faba bean and maize/wheat intercropping systems. 2Differential gene expression analysis of ‘Chili’ (Pyrus bretschneideri) fruit pericarp with two types of bagging treatments显示文摘Preharvest bagging is a simple,grower-friendly and safe physical protection technique commonly applied to many fruits,and the application of different fruit bags can have various effects.To explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the fruit quality effects of different bagging treatments,digital gene expression(DGE)profiling of bagged and unbagged‘Chili’(Pyrus bretschneideri Rehd.)pear pericarp during development was performed.Relative to unbagged fruit,a total of 3022 and 769 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were detected in the polyethylene(PE)-bagged and non-woven fabric-bagged fruit,respectively.DEGs annotated as photosynthesis-antenna proteins and photosynthesis metabolism pathway were upregulated in non-woven fabric-bagged fruit but downregulated in the PE-bagged fruit.Non-woven fabric bagging inhibited lignin synthesis in‘Chili’pear pericarp by downregulating DEGs involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis;consequently,the fruit lenticels in non-woven fabric-bagged fruit were smaller than those in the other treatments.The results indicate that the non-woven fabric bagging method has a positive effect on the appearance of‘Chili’pear fruit but neither of the two bagging treatments is conducive to the accumulation of soluble sugar.Yuling Wang Xinfu Zhang Ran Wang Yingxin Bai Chenglian Liu Yongbing Yuan Yingjie Yang Shaolan Yang 2017Horticulture Research2017,4,1:6
3Anionic structural effect in liquid–liquid separation of phenol from model oil by choline carboxylate ionic liquids显示文摘Phenolic compounds exist in crude oil as pollutants, and their removal is vital important for the refining and further application of oils. In traditional separation approaches, strong acid and strong base have to be used to remove these compounds, which may cause serious environmental problems. In this work, 19 kinds of cholinium ionic liquids have been developed to separate phenol from model oil by liquid–liquid extraction. Structural effect of anions of the ionic liquids in the separation is systematically investigated. It is found that depending on the chemical structure of ionic liquids, phenol can be removed from toluene with single-step removal efficiency from 86 to 99% under optimal conditions. The type of substituent groups and the-CH_2 number between two carboxylates have obvious effect on the removal efficiency, and more hydrophilic ionic liquids have a stronger extraction performance for phenol. Furthermore, thermodynamic,^(13) C NMR,~1 H NMR and density functional theory calculations have been performed to characterize the extraction process and to understand the extraction mechanism. It is shown that the extraction of phenol from oil to ionic liquid is a favorable process, and this process is mainly driven by enthalpy change. 4Fluorescence detection of Escherichia coli on mannose modified ZnTe quantum dots显示文摘Rapid detection and identification of Escherichia coli(E.coli)is essential to prevent its quickly spread.In this study,a novel fluorescence probe based on ZnTe quantum dots(QDs)modified by mannose(MAN)had been prepared for the determination of E.coli.The results showed that the obtained QDs showed excellent selectivity toward E.coli,and presented a good linearity in range of 1.0×10~5~1.0×10~8 CFU/mL.The optimum fluorescence intensity for detecting E.coli was found to be at pH 7.0 with a temperature of25℃and incubation time of 20 min.Under these optimum conditions,the detection limit of E.coli was4.6×10~4 CFU/mL.The quenching was discussed to be a static quenching procedure,which was proved by the quenching efficiency of QDs decreased with the temperature increasing.Dudu Wu Dongming Wang Xiaomei Ye Kangrui Yuan Yuling Xie Baohong Li Chaobo Huang Tairong Kuang Zhiqiang Yu Zhi Chen 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,6:1

8Common genetic heterogeneity of human interleukin-37 leads to functional variance显示文摘Interleukin-37(IL-37)is an inhibitory member of the IL-1 family of cytokines.We previously found that balanced selection maintains common variations of the human IL37 gene.However,the functional consequences of this selection have yet to be validated.Here,using cells expressing exogenous IL-37 variants,including IL-37 Ref and IL-37 Var1 and Var2,we found that the three variants of IL-37 exhibited different immunoregulatory potencies in response to immune stimulation.The protein level of IL-37 Var2 was found to be significantly less than that of IL-37 Ref or Var1,despite the comparable mRNA levels of all three variants.Further study showed that IL-37 Var2 was rapidly degraded by a proteasome-dependent mechanism mediated by enhanced polyubiquitination,leading to a transient upregulation of IL-37 Var2 after immune stimulation.Finally,when ectopically expressed in cells,human IL-37 Var2 exerted less inhibition on proinflammatory cytokine production than did other IL-37 variants.Conversely,purified extracellular IL-37 variant proteins demonstrated comparable inhibitory abilities in vitro.In conclusion,our study reveals that common genetic variants of IL37 lead to different immune-inhibitory potencies,primarily as a result of differences in IL-37 protein stability,suggesting the possible involvement of these variants in various human diseases.Jingjing Yan Yuling Zhang Shimeng Cheng Bin Kang Jinbiao Peng Xiaodan Zhang Meichun Yuan Wenqi Chu Wen Zhang Jiayin Shen Shuye Zhang 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,9:1

12Tunable LCST-type phase behavior of [FeCl4]--based ionic liquids in water显示文摘In this work, 16 kinds of [FeCl_4]^--based magnetic ionic liquids(ILs) with different cation structures have been designed and synthesized, and their structures are characterized by IR and Raman spectroscopy. Then the lower critical solution temperature(LCST)-type phase behavior of these magnetic ILs in water is investigated as a function of concentration. It is shown that cation structure, alkyl chain length and molar ratio of FeCl_3/chloride IL have a significant influence on the LCST of the mixtures. The phase separation temperature can be tuned efficiently by these factors. Meanwhile, the LCST-type phase separation process is also investigated by dynamic light scattering. The results support the mechanism that the hydrogen bonds of the [FeCl_4]^- anion with water have been gradually disrupted to form ILs aggregates with increasing temperature. In addition, the stability of the ILs in water is also examined in some details. 13Two-Step Preparation of Hierarchical Porous Carbon Materials Derived from Tannin for Use as an Electrode Material for Supercapacitors显示文摘The development and utilization of biomass and agroforestry processing byproducts for high-value applications have been an important topic in the field of renewable materials research.Based on this,a two-step microwave hydrothermal pre-carbonization and KOH activation method was proposed to synthesize tannin-based activated carbons with a high specific surface area,hierarchical pore structure,and good electrochemical performance.The microstructure,texture properties,and physicochemical characteristics were investigated.The results show that the prepared tannin-based activated carbons presented a hierarchical pore structure(micro-and mesopores)with a specific surface area as high as 997.46 m^(3) g^(−1).The electrochemical analysis shows that the tannin-based activated carbons have good wettability and charge transfer rates.Under the three-electrode system with 6 M KOH as the electrolyte,the active material TAC_(600-4) had a maximum specific capacitance of 171 F g^(−1)at 0.5 A g^(−1).As the current density increases to 10 A g^(−1),the specific capacitance can still be maintained at 149 F g^(−1),indicating a good rate capability.Therefore,the specific surface area and pore size of tannin-based activated carbons can be effectively adjusted by the alkali/carbon ratio,making it a promising supercapacitor electrode material and providing a new method for the high-value development of tannins in the field of electrochemical energy storage.Jianping Deng Qianqian Zhang Yuling Lan Lingcong Luo Zimin Dai Zhonghang Lin Zhixin Lu Jiancheng Yuan Yiqi Fu Lu Luo Weigang Zhao 2023Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,6:0

15AN EFFICIENT UE CLUSTER HEAD SELECTION ALGORITHM IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS AND CELLULAR NETWORKS显示文摘Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been applied in many different areas. Energy efficient algorithms and protocols have become one of the most challenging issues for WSN. Many researchers focused on developing energy efficient clustering algorithms for WSN, but less research has been concerned in the mobile User Equipment (UE) acting as a Cluster Head (CH) for data transmission between cellular networks and WSNs. In this paper, we propose a cellular-assisted UE CH selection algorithm for the WSN, which considers several parameters to choose the optimal UE gateway CH. We analyze the energy cost of data transmission from a sensor node to the next node or gateway and calculate the whole system energy cost for a WSN. 16Study on Control Effect of Invasive Banana Fusarium Disease(Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense tropical race 4)by Different Varieties and Fertilization Treatments显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to understand the field resistance performance of different banana varieties and the prevention and control ef-fect of different fertilizers,so as to provide technical reference for the prevention and control of Fusarium wilt.[Method]Field trials were set up with three treatments:shrimp peptide organic fertilizer+shrimp peptide special protection+shrimp peptide fruit Yekang(simplified as shrimp peptide organic fertilizer treatment),conventional organic fertilizer+microbial preparations(simplified as microbial treatment),and conventional or-ganic fertilizer(simplified as control).Four different banana varieties of Brazilian banana,Guijiao No.1,Nantianhuang,and Yunjiao No.1 were se-lected for the field trial.The disease incidence of Fusarium wilt and the control effects of three fertilizers were investigated during four time periods.[Result]The disease incidence of four varieties in three treatments varied.The disease incidence of Nantianhuang and Yunjiao No.1 were signifi-cantly lower than that of other two varieties.There was also significant difference in disease incidence of three treatments.The disease incidence from high to low was control>shrimp peptide organic fertilizer treatment>microbial treatment.The average monthly TR4 pathogen content in heavily infected banana plantation was more than 2000 copies,while the highest one reached 15148.9 copies.[Conclusion]Microbial agents reduced the disease incidence of Fusarium wilt to some content.Nantianhuang and Yunjiao No.1 showed the highest disease resistance compared with other varieties.However,their resistance needs to be further improved before practical application.Long Yuan Yang Baoming Huang Yuling Bai Tingting Xu Shengtao Yin Kesuo Fan Huacai Zeng Li Li Xundong Guo Zhixiang Li Yongping Yang Derong Li Jinping Zheng Sijun 2020Plant Diseases and Pests2020,11,1:0
17An old story with new insight into the structural transformation and radical production of micron-scale zero-valent iron on successive reactivities显示文摘It is generally recognized that the formation and accumulation of iron oxides on the surface of zero-valent iron(Fe^(0))resulting in significant decrease of contaminant degradation rates during the long-term reactions.However,in this study,we found that the removal efficiencies of p-nitrophenol(PNP)by micro zero-valent iron(mFe^(0))could maintain at the satisfactory level in the process of continuous reactions(20 cycles).The removal rate constant(0.1779 min^(-1))of the 5th cycle was 6.74 times higher than that of the 1streaction(0.0264 min^(-1)),even the 20th cycle(0.0371 min^(-1))was higher than that of the 1st reaction.Interestingly,almost no dissolved iron was detected in the solution,and the total iron concentrations decreased dramatically with the process of continuous reactions.The results of scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectrometry(SEM-EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)revealed that the structure and composition of corrosion products change from amorphous to highly crystal with the increase of the number of cycles.The corrosion products were mainly magnetite(Fe_(3)O_(4))and a small part of maghemite(γ-Fe_(2)O_(3)),which were in the form of micro sphe res on the surface of mFe^(0).The formation of surface oxidation shell hindered the release of Fe^(2+).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results illustrated that partial Fe3O_(4) could be converted into y-Fe_(2)O_(3).Electrochemical analysis proved that the electron transfer rate of mFe^(0) increased with the formation of the oxides shell.However,the consumption of iron core and thicker oxide film weakened the electron transfer rate.Besides,the quenching experiments indicated that the reaction activity of mFe^(0) could be enhanced with the addition of scavengers.This study deepened the understanding of the structural transformation and radical production of mFe^(0) in continuous reactions.Xinhao Wang Xueting Pu Yue Yuan Yunjie Xiang Yuling Zhang Zhaokun Xiong Gang Yao Bo Lai 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:0

19Improved Analysis of PINNs:Alleviate the CoD for Compositional Solutions显示文摘In this paper,we present an improved analysis of the Physics Informed Neural Networks(PINNs)method for solving second-order elliptic equations.By assuming an intrinsic sparse structure in the underlying solution,we provide a convergence rate analysis that can overcome the curse of dimensionality(CoD).Specifically,using some approximation theory in Sobolev space together with the multivariate Faa di Bruno formula,we first derive the approximation error for composition functions with a small degree of freedom in each compositional layer.Furthermore,by integrating several results on the statistical error of neural networks,we obtain a refined convergence rate analysis for PINNs in solving elliptic equations with compositional solutions.We also demonstrate the benefits of the intrinsic sparse structure with two simple numerical examples.Yuling Jiao Xiliang Lu Jerry Zhijian Yang Cheng Yuan Pingwen Zhang 2023Annals of Applied Mathematics2023,39,3:0
