1Experimental long-distance quantum secure direct communication显示文摘Quantum secure direct communication(QSDC) is an important quantum communication branch, which realizes the secure information transmission directly without encryption and decryption processes.Recently, two table-top experiments have demonstrated the principle of QSDC. Here, we report the first long-distance QSDC experiment, including the security test, information encoding, fiber transmission and decoding. After the fiber transmission of 0.5 km, quantum state fidelities of the two polarization entangled Bell states are 91% and 88%, respectively, which are used for information coding. We theoretically analyze the performance of the QSDC system based on current optical communication technologies,showing that QSDC over fiber links of several tens kilometers could be expected. 2Passive source range estimation with a single receiver in shallow water显示文摘An approach for long-range passive impulsive source ranging with a single receiver in shallow water is proposed,which utilizes the frequency spectrum of the warped signal autocorrelation function via warping transform.For an ideal waveguide,there are invariable frequency features both in the frequency spectrum of the warped signal corresponding to modal cut-off frequencies and the warped signal autocorrelation function due to modal interference.These intrinsic frequency features can be used to passive source ranging.So,the approximate relationship between the frequency of warped signal at an unknown source range and the intrinsic frequency extracted by the time warping transform is derived.These rules can be generalized to an actual shallow water waveguide.Employing an acoustic model to offer the invariable frequency spectrum features,the impulsive signal data collected by a single hydrophone in the North Yellow Sea in December 2011 are analyzed to verify the proposed source ranging approach.The estimated ranges are in good agreement with the ranges measured by GPS,and the mean relative error of range estimation is less than 10%.QI Yubo ZHOU Shihong REN Yun WANG Dejun LIU Jianjun FENG Xiqiang 2015Chinese Journal of Acoustics2015,34,1:13

5Ultrasound speed and attenuation in progressive trypsin digested articular cartilage显示文摘Subtle changes of articular cartilage(AC) can lead to tissue degeneration and even osteoarthritis(OA).The early degeneration of AC is closely related to a change in proteoglycans(PG) content.The observation of PG is therefore an appropriate way of studying OA and evaluating the degree of AC degeneration.In this study,20 cartilage-bone samples were prepared from normal porcine femoral condyle cartilage and 10 samples were digested over 2 h using 0.25% trypsin solution.The dynamic process of PG-digestion was explored using a conventional A-mode ultrasound(US) experimental system with a 10 MHz center frequency.Quantitative acoustic parameters were calculated from ultrasonic radio-frequency echo signals and included US speed(USS),US amplitude attenuation coefficient(UAA) and broadband US attenuation coefficient(BUA).The experimental results showed that the conventional A-mode ultrasound is valuable for tracking the degree of PG-digestion.Histology also confirmed the validity of the ultrasound observations.For every AC sample,the degree of PG-digestion within a given time was different and was affected by individual differences.After two hours of degeneration,USS showed a mean decrease of 0.4%(P<0.05).UAA was significantly lower after a two-hour PG depletion period(from(2.45±0.23) to(2.28±0.41) dB mm?1).BUA showed no significant differences during this process.In conclusion,conventional ultrasound can provide useful information about trypsin-induced progressive PG depletion in AC and can reflect variations of PG content via the quantitative acoustic parameters USS and UAA.The results of this study may be used to identify an indirect indicator of cartilage matrix integrity and OA disease progression.NIU HaiJun LI LiFeng SUN Feng YAN Yan WANG YueXiang LI DeYu FAN YuBo 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,11:3

7Genome-wide association study and genomic prediction of Fusarium ear rot resistance in tropical maize germplasm显示文摘Fusarium ear rot(FER)is a destructive maize fungal disease worldwide.In this study,three tropical maize populations consisting of 874 inbred lines were used to perform genomewide association study(GWAS)and genomic prediction(GP)analyses of FER resistance.Broad phenotypic variation and high heritability for FER were observed,although it was highly influenced by large genotype-by-environment interactions.In the 874 inbred lines,GWAS with general linear model(GLM)identified 3034 single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)significantly associated with FER resistance at the P-value threshold of 1×10^(-5),the average phenotypic variation explained(PVE)by these associations was 3%with a range from 2.33%to 6.92%,and 49 of these associations had PVE values greater than 5%.The GWAS analysis with mixed linear model(MLM)identified 19 significantly associated SNPs at the P-value threshold of 1×10^(-4),the average PVE of these associations was 1.60%with a range from 1.39%to 2.04%.Within each of the three populations,the number of significantly associated SNPs identified by GLM and MLM ranged from 25 to 41,and from 5 to 22,respectively.Overlapping SNP associations across populations were rare.A few stable genomic regions conferring FER resistance were identified,which located in bins 3.04/05,7.02/04,9.00/01,9.04,9.06/07,and 10.03/04.The genomic regions in bins 9.00/01 and 9.04 are new.GP produced moderate accuracies with genome-wide markers,and relatively high accuracies with SNP associations detected from GWAS.Moderate prediction accuracies were observed when the training and validation sets were closely related.These results implied that FER resistance in maize is controlled by minor QTL with small effects,and highly influenced by the genetic background of the populations studied.Genomic selection(GS)by incorporating SNP associations detected from GWAS is a promising tool for improving FER resistance in maize.Yubo Liu Guanghui Hu Ao Zhang Alexander Loladze Yingxiong Hu Hui Wang Jingtao Qu Xuecai Zhang Michael Olsen Felix San Vicente Jose Crossa Feng Lin Boddupalli M.Prasanna 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,2:3

11Investigation on thermo-mechanical behavior of reinforced concrete energy pile with large cross-section in saturated sandy soil by model experiments显示文摘Energy piles are a new type of heat exchange systems with buried pipes in a pile foundation,which optimize a ground source heat pump system for the utilization of shallow geothermal energy.In this study,based on the principle of similarity,the thermo-mechanical behavior of the model energy pile with a large cross-section in saturated sandy soil was experimentally evaluated.The pre-cast model concrete pile with a diameter of 0.2 m and length of 1.5 m was buried in saturated sand in a steel box with dimensions of 2.5 m×2.5 m×2.0 m(length×width×height).The pile was heated using water in the polyethylene(PE)pipe,which was connected to a water cycle temperature controller.At a constant inlet water temperature of 55℃,three thermal cycles were carried out with the same heating and cooling periods and different water flow rates.The temperature distributions in the pile and soil,in addition to the pore pressure,soil pressure,and displacement of the pile,were monitored to clarify the thermo-mechanical behavior of the pile and soil.The heat transfer efficiency was analyzed based on the temperature difference and water flow rates.The measured strain at different locations in the pile under cyclic thermal loading revealed that the uneven strain that developed in a pile body should be considered for its long-term application.Furthermore,focus should be directed toward the long-term unrecoverable displacement of the energy pile due to the thermal plastic strain and thermal consolidation of the soil.Xiaohua Bao Yubo Li Tangjie Feng Hongzhi Cui Xiangsheng Chen 2020Underground Space2020,5,3:1

17Effect of mechanical stretching and substrate stiffness on the morphology,cytoskeleton and nuclear shape of corneal endothelial cells显示文摘Due to the limited capacity of corneal endothelial cells(CECs)division,corneal endothelial diseases have become a great challenge.The cornea is subjected to various mechanical stimuli in vivo,which may have a positive or negative influence.Thus,it is significant to gain an insight into the mechanism of mechanobiology of CECs for seeking more possible treatment.The purpose of this study was to determine the impacts of mechanical stretch and substrate stiffness on the morphology and fundamental cell behavior of CECs.Rabbit corneal endothelial cells(RCECs)were subjected to a 5%mechanical stretch or cultured on substrates of different stiffness.The impacts of mechanical stimulus on cell area,aspect ratio,circularity,cell density,nuclear shape,cytoskeleton,and cell viability were investigated.The expressions of the corneal endothelium-related markers ZO-1 and Na^(+)/K^(+) ATPase were also evaluated by confocal immunofluorescence microscopy in the stiffness group.Our results suggested that mechanical stretch promoted the rearrangement of the cytoskeleton while decreasing the cell circularity,nuclear area,and cell density as well as cell viability.RCECs cultured on 10 kPa substrates,which was close to the physiological stiffness of rabbit Descemet's membrane(DM),showed better cell morphology,more stable actin cytoskeleton assembly,and more robust expression of the functional marker compared with other softer or stiffer substrates.In summary,mechanical stretch and substrate stiffness have profound influences on the morphology and function of CECs,which may have implications for the understanding and possible treatment of corneal endothelial diseases.Ruotian Du Dongyan Li Yan Huang Hui Xiao Jindong Xue Jing Ji Yun Feng Yubo Fan 2022Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2022,,4:0
18New Splitting Methods for Convection-Dominated Diffusion Problems and Navier-Stokes Equations显示文摘We present a new splitting method for time-dependent convention-dominated diffusion problems.The original convention diffusion system is split into two sub-systems:a pure convection system and a diffusion system.At each time step,a convection problem and a diffusion problem are solved successively.A few important features of the scheme lie in the facts that the convection subproblem is solved explicitly and multistep techniques can be used to essentially enlarge the stability region so that the resulting scheme behaves like an unconditionally stable scheme;while the diffusion subproblem is always self-adjoint and coercive so that they can be solved efficiently using many existing optimal preconditioned iterative solvers.The scheme can be extended for solving the Navier-Stokes equations,where the nonlinearity is resolved by a linear explicit multistep scheme at the convection step,while only a generalized Stokes problem is needed to solve at the diffusion step and the major stiffness matrix stays invariant in the time marching process.Numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the stability,convergence and performance of the single-step and multistep variants of the new scheme.Feng Shi Guoping Liang Yubo Zhao Jun Zou 2014Communications in Computational Physics2014,16,10:0
19Novel thieno[2,3-b]quinoline-procaine hybrid molecules:A new class of allosteric SHP-1 activators evolved from PTP1B inhibitors显示文摘Small molecule activators could equally provide powerful tools as inhibitors do for interrogating cellular signal transduction.However,targeted protein activation is chemically challenging.Developing activators against Src homology region 2 domain-containing phosphatase-1(SHP-1)to block STAT3 pathway represents a promising strategy for DLBCL therapy.Here we reported a new class of thieno[2,3-b]quinolineprocaine hybrid molecules as SHP-1 allosteric activators.The representative hybrid compound 3b displayed SHP-1 activating effect with EC50 of 5.48±0.28μmol/L.Further investigations confirmed that 3b allosterically interacted with SHP-1,switched it from close to open conformation,blocked SHP-1/p-STAT3 pathway,induced apoptosis and inhibited ABC-DLBCL cell proliferation in vitro,and delayed tumor growth in the xenograft model of SU-DHL-2.Overall,this work offered a novel paradigm to develop SHP-1 allosteric activators through chemical space evolution of PTPs inhibitors,and firstly validated the therapeutic strategy that directly activating SHP-1 alone could be a potential therapy against ABC-DLBCL via blocking STAT3 pathway.Lei Xu Xuyang Mu Minmin Liu Zhijia Wang Chao Shen Qianwen Mu Bo Feng Yechun Xu Tingjun Hou Lixin Gao Haini Jiang Jia Li Yubo Zhou Wenlong Wang 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,8:0
