| 1 | Characterization and cloning of a brittle culm mutant (bc88) in rice (Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘This study characterizes a brittle culm (bc88) mutant of rice (Oryza sativa L.) obtained by ethylene methylsulfonate (EMS)-induced mutagenesis of Wuyunjing 7. The bc88 mutant exhibits a diversity of pleiotropic phenotypes, including brittle culm at the whole-plant growth stages, withered leaf tips at the seedling stage, and 18-d delay in heading date at the mature stage. Genetic analysis indicates that the bc88 mutant is controlled by a single recessive nuclear gene. The mutated bc88 gene isolated by map-based cloning contains only one point mutation in the 5th exon relative to its wild-type BC88 (LOC_Os09g25490 and Os09g0422500), leading to an amino acid change from P to L in bc88 plants. Alignment of the putative protein sequence with its homologs indicates that the mutation is located in the conserved region of the sequence. Detection of the transcription level of BC88 in rice plants shows that the expression level of BC88 is higher in spikes and culms than in leaves, roots, and leaf sheaths. These contribute to understanding of the molecular mechanism of cellulose synthesis. | 2 | Secondary Crystallization of Na_2CO_3-Modified HZSM-5 Zeolites with Tetrapropylammonium Hydroxide and Their Catalytic Performance in Thiophene Alkylation Reaction显示文摘The Na2CO3-modified HZSM-5 zeolites were further treated by tetrapropylammonium hydroxide(TPAOH) solution. The effect of TPAOH concentration on the secondary crystallization process was investigated. The resulting samples were characterized by a complementary combination of X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption/desorption, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, XPS, 27 Al and 29 Si magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, BET and temperature-programmed desorption techniques. The results showed that the secondary crystallization of the HZSM-5 zeolite could result in migration of non-framework species from the internal channels to the zeolite surface and their transformation into framework species. The catalytic activity of these modified samples for thiophene alkylation was evaluated. | 4 | Mineral Transition of Calcium Aluminate Clinker during High-Temperature Sintering with Low-lime Dosage显示文摘The mineral transition mechanism and physicochemical property of calcium aluminate clinker sintered at 1350 ℃ were systematically studied using analytical reagent α-Al_2O_3,CaCO_3 and SiO_2 when the molar ratio of CaO to Al_2O_3 is 1.0.The results show that the formation of Ca_2SiO_4 accelerates the diffusion of CaO and Al_2O_3,which promotes the formation of CaAl_2O_4 determined by dilatometer,X-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy methods.CaAl_4O_7,Ca_3Al_2O_6,Ca_3SiO_5 and Ca_2Al_2SiO_7 only exist in the initial stage of reactions,the amounts of which decrease with the increase of sintering duration.Ca_3Al_2O_6 and Ca_(12)Al_(14)O_(33) react with Al_2O_3 and CaAl_4O_7 to form CaAl_2O_4,while Ca_2Al_2SiO_7 reacts with CaO and Ca_(12)Al_(14)O_(33) to form Ca_2SiO_4 and CaAl_2O_4.The sintered clinker contains CaAl_2O_4 and γ-Ca_2SiO_4 as well as some Ca_(12)Al_(14)O_(33) when the sintering duration is longer than 1.0 h.The differential scanning calorimetry results reveal that Ca_2SiO_4,Ca_2Al_2SiO_7 and CaAl_2O_4 are formed at985 ℃,1045℃ and 1339 ℃,respectively.Increasing the sintering duration contributes to the transition of β-Ca_2SiO_4 to γ-Ca_2SiO_4,which improves the pulverization and alumina leaching property of the sintered clinker. | Di Zhang Xiaolin Pan Haiyan Yu Yuchun Zhai | 2015 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,12: | 7 |
| 5 | Preparation of Monodisperse Spherical SiO_2 by Microwave Hydrothermal Method and Kinetics of Dehydrated Hydroxyl显示文摘Monodisperse spherical SiO2 particles were successfully synthesized in 2-propanol-H2O-NH3 system by the microwave hydrothermal method using ammonia as catalyst. To investigate the influences on the size of spherical SiO2 particles, factors such as ammonia concentration, reaction temperature, stirring intensity and reactants mol ratio have been studied. The orthogonal experiments were carried out. The as-prepared SiO2 particles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The results indicated that the size of SiO2 particles increased greatly with the increase in ammonia concentration, temperature and reactants mol ratio, but increased slightly with the increase in stirring intensity. Monodisperse spherical SiO2 particles were amorphous with perfect sphere and uniform size. Hydroxyl was detected in SiO2. The reaction conditions were obtained, under which the ZnO of flower-like particles, micro-rods and flake particles was synthesized, respectively. The crystal structures and morphologies of those ZnO particles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The ZnO with flower-like structures was composed of lots of micro-rods with hexagon morphology. The XRD patterns indicated that the ZnO powders were hexagonal wurtzite structures with high purity. | 13 | Strategies for CO2 capture from different CO2 emission sources by vacuum swing adsorption technology显示文摘Different VSA(Vacuum Swing Adsorption) cycles and process schemes have been evaluated to find suitable process configurations for effectively separating CO2 from flue gases from different industrial sectors. The cycles were studied using an adsorption simulator developed in our research group, which has been successfully used to predict experimental results over several years. Commercial zeolite APGIII and granular activated carbon were used as the adsorbents. Three-bed VSA cycles with- and without-product purge and 2-stage VSA systems have been investigated. It was found that for a feed gas containing 15% CO2(representing flue gas from power plants), high CO2 purities and recoveries could be obtained using a three-bed zeolite APGIII VSA unit for one stage capture, but with more stringent conditions such as deeper vacuum pressures of 1–3 k Pa. 2-stage VSA process operated in series allowed us to use simple process steps and operate at more realistic vacuum pressures. With a vacuum pressure of 10 k Pa, final CO2 purity of 95.3% with a recovery of 98.2% were obtained at specific power consumption of 0.55 MJ·(kg CO2)-1from feed gas containing15% CO2. These numbers compare very well with those obtained from a single stage process operating at1 k Pa vacuum pressure. The feed CO2 concentration was very influential in determining the desorption pressure necessary to achieve high separation efficiency. | 18 | Tribological Behaviors of Ni_3Al Intermetallics with MoO_3 Multilayer Ribbon Crystal Prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering显示文摘This study reports that small amounts of MoO_3 multilayer ribbon crystal(MoO_3MLRC) in Ni_3Al intermetallics showed the decreased friction coefficients and improved wear resistance at different contact loads. Specifically, the friction coefficients(0.32–0.34) and wear rates [(2–4) × 10^(-5)mm3N^(-1)m^(-1)] are significantly reduced for Ni_3Al at 2–8 N. A possible explanation for the friction and wear reduction is that MoO_3 MLRC as a multilayer material shears easily in the tribo-layer during the sliding contact, and provides low friction.
