| 1 | Exotic origin of the Chinese continental shelf: new insights into the tectonic evolution of the western Pacific and eastern China since the Mesozoic显示文摘The effect of paleo-Pacific subduction on the geological evolution of the western Pacific and continental China is likely complex. Nevertheless, our analysis of the distribution of Mesozoic granitoids in the eastern continental China in space and time has led us to an interesting conclusion: The basement of the continental shelf beneath East and South China Seas may actually be of exotic origin geologically unrelated to the continental lithosphere of eastern China. By accepting the notion that the Jurassic–Cretaceous granitoids in the region are genetically associated with western Pacific subduction and the concept that subduction may cease to continue only if the trench is being jammed, then the termination of the granitoidmagmatism throughout the vast region at *88 ± 2 Ma manifests the likelihood of ‘‘sudden'', or shortly beforehand(*100 Ma), trench jam of the Mesozoic western Pacific subduction. Trench jam happens if the incoming‘‘plate'' or portion of the plate contains a sizeable mass that is too buoyant to subduct. The best candidate for such a buoyant and unsubductable mass is either an oceanic plateau or a micro-continent. We hypothesize that the basement of the Chinese continental shelf represents such an exotic, buoyant and unsubductable mass, rather than seaward extension of the continental lithosphere of eastern China. The locus of the jammed trench(i.e., the suture) is predictably located on the shelf in the vicinity of, and parallel to, the arc-curved coastal line of the southeast continental China. It is not straightforward to locate the locus in the northern section of the East China Sea shelf because of the more recent(\20 Ma) tectonic re-organization associated with the opening of the Sea of Japan. We predict that the trench jam at *100 Ma led to the re-orientation of the Pacific plate motion in the course of NNW direction as inferred from the age-progressive Emperor Seamount Chain of Hawaiian hotspot origin(its oldest unsubdued Meiji and Detroit seamounts are *82 Ma),making the boundary between the Pacific plate and the newly accreted plate of eastern Asia a transform fault at the location east of the continental shelf of exotic origin. This explains the apparent *40 Myr magmatic gap from *88to *50 Ma prior to present-day western Pacific subduction initiation. We propose that basement penetration drilling on well-chosen sites is needed to test the hypothesis in order to reveal the true nature of the Chinese continental shelf basement. This testing becomes critical and cannot longer be neglected in order to genuinely understand the tectonic evolution of the western Pacific and its effect on the geology of eastern China since the Mesozoic, includingthe cratonic lithosphere thinning, related magmatism/mineralization, and the mechanism of the subsequent South China Sea opening, while also offering novel perspectives on aspects of the plate tectonics theory. We also suggest the importance of future plate tectonic reconstruction of the western Pacific to consider the nature and histories of the Chinese continental shelf of exotic origin as well as the probable transform plate boundary from *100 to*50 Ma. | 2 | Optimization of air quantity regulation in mine ventilation networks using the improved differential evolution algorithm and critical path method显示文摘In mine ventilation networks, the reasonable airflow distribution is very important for the production safety and economy. Three basic problems of the natural, full-controlled and semi-controlled splitting were reviewed in the paper. Aiming at the high difficulty semi-controlled splitting problem, the general nonlinear multi-objectives optimization mathematical model with constraints was established based on the theory of mine ventilation networks. A new algorithm, which combined the improved differential evaluation and the critical path method(CPM) based on the multivariable separate solution strategy,was put forward to search for the global optimal solution more efficiently. In each step of evolution,the feasible solutions of air quantity distribution are firstly produced by the improved differential evolution algorithm, and then the optimal solutions of regulator pressure drop are obtained by the CPM.Through finite steps iterations, the optimal solution can be given. In this new algorithm, the population of feasible solutions were sorted and grouped for enhancing the global search ability and the individuals in general group were randomly initialized for keeping diversity. Meanwhile, the individual neighborhood in the fine group which may be closely to the optimal solutions were searched locally and slightly for achieving a balance between global searching and local searching, thus improving the convergence rate. The computer program was developed based on this method. Finally, the two ventilation networks with single-fan and multi-fans were solved. The results show that this algorithm has advantages of high effectiveness, fast convergence, good robustness and flexibility. | 3 | Effect of Cyclocarya paliurus polysaccharides on streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats显示文摘OBJEVTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of Cyclocarya paliurus(C.paliurus)polysaccharides on streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats.METHODS:Rats were divided into 6 groups,including group of normal control,group of diabetic control,group of metformin treatment,low-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment,middle-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment and high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment.Histological analysis of kidney was analyzed using hematoxilin and eosin.Levels of blood glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid were determined by spectrophotometry.Anti-oxidative enzymes were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Advanced glycation end products(AGEs)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)level was measured by ELISA.RESULTS:Abnormal changes were observed in the group of diabetic control characterized by atrophy of the renal glomeruli with hypercellularity,congestion of glomerular tufts,dilation of the renal spaces,and degeneration of renal tubule.Compared with that of normal group,blood glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid level was significantly increased in the group of diabetic control.Superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase,glutathione reductase level was significantly decreased,but AGEs and TGF-β1 level was significantly increased.By contrast,administration of C.paliurus polysaccharides and metformin could reverse the above-mentioned results of the group of diabetic control,especially in the high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides.CONCLUSION:Our findings suggest that C.paliurus polysaccharides may play a protecting role for nephropathy of diabetic rats by lowering glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid level,enhancing the antioxidative ability,and reducing AGEs and TGF-β1 expression. | Xia Xichao Mao Dongxue Dai Hongmei Wu Xi Zhang Zuyuan Wang Huaying Zhou Wenwen Dong Yanmei Wang Mengqi Li Yuan Shao Xiangyang Ouyang Jingfeng | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,6: | 9 |

| 9 | Gene expression profiling under different photoperiod/temperature conditions in a photoperiod-/thermo-sensitive genic male sterile line of rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Peiai 64S is a photoperiod- and thermo- sensitive genic male sterile (PTSGMS) line of rice, which is male sterile at long day/high temperature and partial fertile at short day/low temperature. A cDNA array representing 3328 unique rice genes was used to profile the gene expression patterns in the young panicles of Peiai 64S under these two condi- tions. The statistical data showed that up to 14.60% of genes exhibited up-or down-regulated expressions in the plants at long day/high temperature compared with plants at short day/low temperature. Only four genes were up-regulated while 482 genes down-regulated. Real-time PCR with all the up-regulated and 9 randomly selected down-regulated genes confirmed the differential expressions detected by the array, indicating that the constructed cDNA array is reliable. These differently expressed genes participated in almost all cell biological responses. Analysis of up- and down-regulated genes revealed distinctive changes between the mRNA abundances of MMK1 and MMK2, both of which are analogs ofMAPK, and significant down-regulation of several transcription factors. Antigliomatin was extracted from the venom of the scorpion Buthus martensii Karsch. Chloride channels are closed under normal osmotic pressure. When osmotic pressure was reduced to 120, 110 and 100 mV, the cell volume enlarged, chloride channels opened, and the chloride channel current increased. Three minutes after antigliomatin treatment, the chloride channel current decreased in a dose-dependent manner. | 17 | Differential gene expression profile of Buyanghuanwu decoction in rats with ventricular remodeling post-myocardial infarction显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Buyanghuanwu decoction(BYHWD) on gene expression in ventricular remodeling post-myocardial infarction in rats.METHODS: Animal models of myocardial infarction were established by permanent ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery. Echocardiography measurements were performed after the treatment of BYHWD(18 g·kg-1 collagen was observ·d-1) for 90 days.Myocardialed by mallory trichrome staining. Capillary density was quantified by using Factor rentially expⅧre immunohistochemical staining.Diffessed genes were explored by a short-read sequencing technology combined with a tag-based digital gene expression profiling(DGE)system. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction detecting system(q PCR) was used to validate the sequencing results. After assembling the gene information from Sham, model and BYHWD groups, we constructed three DGE libraries based on each group. The sequencing of three libraries generated 66 000-73 000 unique tags, which were mapped to reference sequences for annotation of expressed genes.RESULTS: Among them, 511 and 352 differentially expressed genes were found in comparison with sham/model and model/BYHWD, respectively. Fifty-five genes exhibited reversed direction of gene expression differences between Sham/Model and Model/BYHWD groups.
