| 1 | Nonfatal Child Pedestrian Injury in Two Urban Cities of Guangdong Province,China:Results from a Cross-sectional Survey显示文摘Objective To describe the epidemiological characteristics of nonfatal child pedestrian injuries and provide information to help understand an important public-health problem.Methods This was a school-based,cross-sectional questionnaire survey.The sample (42 750 children) was obtained from two urban cities of Guangdong Province,China,using multi-stage randomized sampling.Information was collected by the respondents self-reporting in the classroom.Results The incidence rate of nonfatal child pedestrian injuries in the cities was 2.0%.Boys had a higher incidence rate (2.6%) than girls (1.4%).Compared to other children,those aged 10 years are at the highest risk.The primary places of occurrence were sidewalks,residential roads,and crosswalks.High-risk behavior of the children immediately prior to injury included mid-block crossings,playing on roads,and crossing on red lights.The major vehicles that caused pedestrian injuries were bicycles,car or vans,and motorcycles.Bruises,fractures,and injuries to the internal organs were the top three types of injuries.Almost 40% of victims were hospitalized,and nearly 30% of the victims suffered long-term disabilities.Conclusion This study shows that nonfatal child pedestrian injuries are a very serious public-health problem in the urban cities of Guangdong.Based on the epidemiological characteristics,prevention strategies and further research should be carried out to reduce the occurrence of injuries. | MA WenJun NIE ShaoPing XU HaoFeng XU YanJun XIE HuiYan ZHANG YuRun | 2011 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,4: | 4 |
| 2 | The Relationship between Melt Season Sea Ice over the Bering Sea and Summer Precipitation over Mid-Latitude East Asia显示文摘Independent datasets consistently indicate a significant correlation between the sea ice variability in the Bering Sea during melt season and the summer rainfall variability in the Lake Baikal area and Northeastern China.In this study,four sea ice datasets(HadISST1,HadISST2.2,ERA-Interim and NOAA/NSIDC)and two global precipitation datasets(CRU V4.01 and GPCP V2.3)are used to investigate co-variations between melt season(March−April−May−June,MAMJ)Bering Sea ice cover(BSIC)and summer(June−July−August,JJA)East Asian precipitation.All datasets demonstrate a significant correlation between the MAMJ BSIC and the JJA rainfall in Lake Baikal−Northeastern China(Baikal−NEC).Based on the reanalysis datasets and the numerical sensitivity experiments performed in this study using Community Atmospheric Model version 5(CAM5),a mechanism to understand how the MAMJ BSIC influences the JJA Baikal−NEC rainfall is suggested.More MAMJ BSIC triggers a wave train and causes a positive sea level pressure(SLP)anomaly over the North Atlantic during MAMJ.The high SLP anomaly,associated with an anti-cyclonic wind stress circulation anomaly,favors the appearance of sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies in a zonal dipole-pattern in the North Atlantic during summer.The dipole SST anomaly drives a zonally orientated wave train,which causes a high anomaly geopotential height at 500 hPa over the Sea of Japan.As a result,the mean East Asian trough moves westward and a low geopotential height anomaly occurs over Baikal−NEC.This prevailing regional low pressure anomaly together with enhanced moisture transport from the western North Pacific and convergence over Baikal−NEC,positively influences the increased rainfall in summer. | Yurun TIAN Yongqi GAO Dong GUO | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,6: | 4 |

| 4 | Infection-responsive long-term antibacterial bone plates for open fracture therapy显示文摘The infections in open fracture induce high morbidity worldwide.Thus,developing efficient anti-infective orthopedic devices is of great significance.In this work,we designed a kind of infection-responsive long-term antibacterial bone plates.Through a facile and flexible volatilization method,a multi-aldehyde polysaccharide derivative,oxidized sodium alginate,was crosslinked with multi-amino compounds,gentamycin and gelatin,to fabricate a uniform coating on Ti bone plates via Schiff base reaction,which was followed by a secondary crosslinking process by glutaraldehyde.The double-crosslinked coating was stable under normal condition,and could responsively release gentamycin by the triggering of the acidic microenvironment caused by bacterial metabolism,owning to the pH-responsiveness of imine structure.The thickness of the coating was ranging from 22.0μm to 63.6μm.The coated bone plates(Ti-GOGs)showed infection-triggered antibacterial properties(>99%)and high biocompatibility.After being soaked for five months,it still possessed efficient antibacterial ability,showing its sustainable antibacterial performance.The in vivo anti-infection ability was demonstrated by an animal model of infection after fracture fixation(IAFF).At the early stage of IAFF,Ti-GOGs could inhibit the bacterial infection(>99%).Subsequently,Ti-GOGs could promote recovery of fracture of IAFF.This work provides a convenient and universal strategy for fabrication of various antibacterial orthopedic devices,which is promising to prevent and treat IAFF. | Lujiao Zhang Yurun Yang Yan-Hua Xiong Yu-Qing Zhao Zongpeng Xiu Hui-Min Ren Kai Zhang Shun Duan Ying Chen Fu-Jian Xu | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,7: | 2 |
| 5 | Flow-restricted Etching Method on Isotropic Substrates and Its Mechanism显示文摘With the development of analytical instrumentation to minimization,integration and automation,the microfluidic chips,which are more integrated,complex and diversified,have been applied widely on the manufacturing of analytical instrumentation.However,the present photolithography-based microfabrication technology,which is only able to pattern microchannels with simple inside structures,can not follow the rapid development of requirements.For solving the problem,a fabrication method based on the restricting effect of laminar flow is proposed for the micro etching on isotropic substrates.Experiments were conducted inside glass-based microchannels,in which certain etchant was used to form complicated microstructures.The flow parameters' effects on the aspect ratio,side wall profile and etching rate were revealed by the experiments.The experimental results reveal that the topography of micro structures patterned with the restricted flow etching method is mainly determined by the flowrates of separator and etchant.The computational fluid dynamics(CFD) model on the interface between multiple streams was established for the etching process,and analysis on the causes of various micro topographies was conducted based on the CFD simulation results.The experimental data consisted with the simulation results very well.The investigation depicted in this paper indicate that the flow restricted etching method provides sufficient references for the research and understanding on the mass transport at the liquid-liquid surface in the microchannel and can be used to pattern complex micro structures with high aspect ratios,meantime,it greatly enriches the microfabrication technology for microfluidic chips. | XIE Haibo ZHENG Yi FAN Yurun FU Xin YANG Huayong | 2010 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,5: | 1 |

| 9 | 1064 nm InGaAsP multi-junction laser power converters显示文摘Laser photovoltaic devices converting 1064 nm light energy into electric energy present a promising prospect in wireless energy transmission due to the commercial availability of high power 1064 nm lasers with very small divergence. Besides their high conversion efficiency, a high output voltage is also expected in a laser energy transmission system. Meanwhile,1064 nm InGaAsP multi-junction laser power converters have been developed using p^+-InGaAs/n^+-InGaAs tunnel junctions to connect sub-cells in series to obtain a high output voltage. The triple-junction laser power converter structures are grown on p-type InP substrates by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD), and InGaAsP laser power converters are fabricated by conventional photovoltaic device processing. The room-temperature I–V measurements show that the 1 × 1 cm^2 triplejunction InGaAsP laser power converters demonstrate a conversion efficiency of 32.6% at a power density of 1.1 W/cm^2, with an open-circuit voltage of 2.16 V and a fill factor of 0.74. | 10 | Stress boundary layers in the viscoelastic flow past a cylinder in a channel:limiting solutions显示文摘The flow past a cylinder in a channel with the aspect ratio of 2: 1 for the upper convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid and the Oldroyd-B fluid with the viscosity ratio of 0.59is studied by using the Galerkin/Least-square finite element method and a p-adaptive refinement algorithm. A posteriori error estimation indicates that the stress-gradient error dominates the total error. As the Deborah number, De, approaches 0.8 for the UCM fluid and 0.9 for the Oldroyd-B fluid, strong stress boundary layers near the rear stagnation point are forming, which are characterized by jumps of the stress-profiles on the cylinder wall and plane of symmetry, huge stress gradients and rapid decay of the gradients across narrow thicknesses. The origin of the huge stress-gradients can be traced to the purely elongational flow behind the rear stagnation point, where the position at which the elongation rate is of 1/2De approaches the rear stagnation point as the Deborah number approaches the critical values. These observations imply that the cylinder problem for the UCM and Oldroyd-B fluids may have physical limiting Deborah numbers of 0.8 and 0.9, respectively. | Yurun Fan Huayong Yang Roger I. We found that in PU/ER IPN, the free volume hole size and fractional free volume showed a negative deviation due to closer segmental chain packing through some chemical bonding between PU and epoxy resin. Direct relationship between the gas permeability and the free volume has been established based on the free volume theory.
