| 1 | The soil configuration on granite residuals affects Benggang erosion by altering the soil water regime on the slope显示文摘A permanent collapsing gully,locally called Benggang,formed on slopes with deep granite red soil and is a type of unique gully erosion widely prevalent in southern China.Three different soil configurations(SC),ie,red-transition-sandy(SC I,the transition is the soil layer between the red soil and the sandy soil layer),transition-sandy(SC II)or sandy(SC III)are usually present in the soil profile of the Benggang slope.However,little attention has been paid to impacts of SCs on the triggering of Benggang erosion.In this study,we aimed to explore the relationships between soil water content(SWC)and triggering of Benggang erosion under different SC conditions.The soil properties of different soil layers were measured and the SWC at depths of 20,40,60,and 80 cm were monitored at 5-min intervals along a typical Benggang(SC I)during 2016-2018.The SWC of Benggang slopes with different SCs were simulated by VADOSE/W model.Results showed that the red soil layer had a higher water retention capacity and shear strength than the sandy soil layer.Even if the SWC is higher(e.g.,0.42 cm^(3)/cm^(3))at red soil layer or transition layer,the corresponding shear strength is greater than that of sandy soil layer with a lower SWC(e.g.,032 cm^(3)/cm^(3)).Relationships between shear strength and SWC of different soil layers indicate that Benggang erosion is triggered by an increase in the SWC in the deep sandy layer.Results also showed that differences exist in the SWC distribution among the different SCs.The SWC is higher in topsoil than in deeper soil in SC I and SC II,while in SC III,the opposite trend is observed.These results revealed that the presence of the red soil or transition layer can reduce the infiltration of rainwater into the deep sandy layer,thus can reduce the possibility of collapse.Our results show that the SC affects the stability of the headwall,and results provide great significances to guide the mitigation of Benggang erosion. | Xiaoqian Duan Yusong Deng Yu Tao Yangbo He Lirong Lin Jiazhou Chen | 2021 | International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,3: | 4 |
| 2 | Identification of Cognitive Dysfunction in Patients with T2DM Using Whole Brain Functional Connectivity显示文摘Majority of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients are highly susceptible to several forms of cognitive impairments,particularly dementia.However,the underlying neural mechanism of these cognitive impairments remains unclear.We aimed to investigate the correlation between whole brain resting state functional connections(RSFCs)and the cognitive status in 95 patients with T2DM.We constructed an elastic net model to estimate the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)scores,which served as an index of the cognitive status of the patients,and to select the RSFCs for further prediction.Subsequently,we utilized a machine learning technique to evaluate the discriminative ability of the connectivity pattern associated with the selected RSFCs.The estimated and chronological MoCA scores were significantly correlated with R=0.81 and the mean absolute error(MAE)=1.20.Additionally,cognitive impairments of patients with T2DM can be identified using the RSFC pattern with classification accuracy of 90.54%and the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)of 0.9737.This connectivity pattern not only included the connections between regions within the default mode network(DMN),but also the functional connectivity between the task-positive networks and the DMN,as well as those within the task-positive networks.The results suggest that an RSFC pattern could be regarded as a potential biomarker to identify the cognitive status of patients with T2DM. | Zhenyu Liu Jiangang Liu Huijuan Yuan Taiyuan Liu Xingwei Cui Zhenchao Tang Yang Du Meiyun Wang Yusong Lin Jie Tian | 2019 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,4: | 4 |

| 5 | Microstructures, mechanical properties and in vitro corrosion behavior of biodegradable Zn alloys microalloyed with Al, Mn, Cu, Ag and Li elements显示文摘In this work,Zn microalloyed with Al,Mn,Cu,Ag and Li was cast,annealed and extruded.The results showed that addition of multiple trace elements causes significant change in the microstructures,mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of Zn-0.1Al-0.1Mn-0.1Cu-0.1Ag(^(1)ZM),Zn-0.1Al-0.1Mn-0.1Cu0.1Ag-0.1Li(^(2)ZM-0.1Li)and Zn-0.1Al-0.1Mn-0.1Cu-0.1Ag-0.35Li(^(3)ZM-0.35Li)alloys.Two ternary phases with the approximate compositions of Al_(13)Mn_(3)Zn_(34) and Al_(10)MnZn_(89) phases are formed in the casting and annealing processes of these alloys,respectively.Wavyβ-LiZn_(4) lamellae that have not been extensively reported are precipitated from the primary Zn dendrites in the casting process of ZM-0.35Li alloy.Also,Zn laths are precipitated from the eutecticβ-LiZn_(4) phase in the annealing process of ZM-0.35Li alloy.The above-mentioned phases are crushed or elongated in the as-extruded alloys,which play an important role in improving the strength of the alloys.All the as-extruded alloys have typical(0001)basal texture,accompanied with relatively low{0001}<1120>slip and high{1012}<1011>twinning Schmid factors,which are advantageous and disadvantageous to the strength enhancement of the alloys,respectively.All the as-cast alloys exhibit poor mechanical properties,especially low ductility.The as-extruded ZM alloy exhibits ultrahigh ductility,with an elongation of up to 82.2%±2.94%.The as-extruded ZM0.35Li alloy shows the best comprehensive mechanical properties,with yield strength,ultimate tensile strength,elongation and hardness of 380±1.6 MPa,449±7.4 MPa,62.3%±4.63%and 98±1.4 HV,respectively.Electrochemical corrosion rates of the ZM,ZM-0.1Li and ZM-0.35Li alloys are 0.241±0.004,0.206±0.006 and 0.189±0.008 mm/year,respectively.In vitro immersion corrosion rates(after 26 d in SBF solution)of them are 0.134±0.005,0.125±0.004 and 0.121±0.003 mm/year,respectively.The as-extruded ZM-0.35Li alloy exhibits the best corrosion resistance. | Lei Li Huanzheng Jiao Congfu Liu Lin Yang Yusong Suo Ruixue Zhang Tie Liu Jianzhong Cui | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,8: | 1 |

| 7 | Transmembrane structure and function of dctPQM encoding C4-dicarboxylate transport proteins from nitrogen-fixing P.stutzeri A1501显示文摘C4-dicarboxylate transport proteins of di-azotroph Pseudomonas stutzeri were encoded by dctPQM genes. Nucleotide sequence analysis indicated that dctP, dctQ, and dctM grouped together. Its nucleotide and amino acid sequence shared high homology with that of dctP gene en-coding periplasmic C4-dicarboxylate-binding protein and dctQM genes encoding C4-dicarboxylate transport proteins from the free-living nitrogen-fixing Aotobacter vinelandii. Structural analysis showed that DctP of P. stutzeri did not include membrane-spanning regions, and DctQ and DctM contained 5 and 12 transmembrane segments, respectively. The fragment containing the complete dctPQM genes was cloned into the Tn5 transposon region of suicide mobiliza-tion plasmid pSZ21. The resultant plasmid was named pSZY6. By triparental mating, Tn5 transposon carrying the dctPQM genes inserted into the genome of the wild type strain A1501, randomly. The recombinant strain A-142 which harboured an extra copy of dctPQM genes was con-structed and identified by PCR amplification of npt II gene. When A-142 was grown in minimal medium with different concentrations (20, 10 and 5 mmol/L) of C4-dicarboxylates succinate, malate, or fumarate as the sole carbon source, the rate of nitrogen fixation assayed by acetylene reduction was significantly higher than that of the wild-type strain A1501. | 8 | Orbital and Millennial-Scale Climate Variability over the Past 76 ka in the Western Tarim Basin, Northwest China显示文摘Paleoclimate changes during the last glacial in the arid central Asia are not as well understood as the monsoon-dominated areas of Asia. Here we report a 75-m-long sediment core over past 120 kyr based on astronomical tuning combined with the optically stimulated luminescence(OSL) dating in the Kashi depression of the western Tarim Basin, Northwest China. Analysis of grain size and highresolution gamma ray(GR) logs from the KT11 borehole across the last glacial period yields a climate history for the Tarim Basin which reflects the variations of its temperature and the hydrological cycles. Comparison of these records with north hemisphere summer insolation, the Greenland ice core temperature, stalagmites and the loess from the nearby region indicates that the deposits in the fluvio-lacustrine system of the Kashi depression responded to climate change at the Younger Dryas(YD), six Heinrich cooling events and the Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles. | 9 | High-elevation Adaptation of Motion Visual Display Modifications in the Toad-Headed Agamid Lizards(Phrynocephalus)显示文摘Understanding the process of adaptation is a key mission in modern evolutionary biology.Animals living at high elevations face challenges in energy meta bolism due to several environmental constraints(e.g., oxygen supply, food availa bility,and movement time). Animal behavioral processes are intimately related to energy meta bolism, and therefore, behavioral modifica tions are expected to be an important mechanism for high-elevation adaptation. We tested this behavioral adaptation hypothesis using va ria tions of motion visual displays in toad-headed agamid lizards of the genus Phr ynocephalus. We predicted tha t complexity of visual motion displays would decrease with the increase of elevation, because motion visual displays are energetically costly. Displays of 12 Phr ynocephalus species were collected with elevations ranging from sea level to 4600 m. We quantified display complexity using the number of display components, display duration, pathways of display components, as well as display speed for each species. Association between display complexity and elevation was analyzed using the phylogenetic generalized least squares(PGLS)model. We found that both the number of display components and the average value of tail coil speed were negatively correlated with elevation, suggesting that toad-headed lizards living at high-elevation areas reduced their display complexity to cope with the environmental constraints. | 10 | Light-mediated CO_(2)-responsiveness of metallopolymer microgels显示文摘Here, we report a finding on light-mediated CO_(2)^(-)responsiveness. It is found on the microgels that are made of side-chain type metallopolymers containing metalla-aromatics. Turbidity and laser light scattering studies on dilute aqueous dispersion of these microgels in dark indicate high CO_(2)^(-)responsivity, but poor reversibility upon N2 purge, which can be improved by exposing to light. This light-mediated CO_(2)^(-)responsiveness can be elucidated by the loss of aromaticity from initial photoexcitation and concurrent formation of a less reactive, antiaromatic excited state of relatively low CO_(2) binding affinity, and by subsequent relief of antiaromaticity that can enhance the CO_(2) removal.
