| 1 | Structural evolution and superconductivity tuned by valence electron concentration in the Nb-Mo-Re-Ru-Rh high-entropy alloys显示文摘The crystal structure and physical properties of Nb_(25)Mo_(5+x)Re_(35)Ru_(25-x)Rh_(10)(0≤x≤10)and Nb_(5)Mo_(35-y)Re_(15+y)Ru_(35)Rh_(10)(0≤y≤15)high-entropy alloys(HEAs)have been studied by X-ray diffraction,electrical resistivity,magnetic susceptibility,and specific heat measurements.The results show that the former HEAs with valence electron concentration(VEC)values of 6.7-6.9 crystallize in a noncentrosymmetric cubicα-Mn structure,while the latter ones with VEC values of 7.1-7.25 adopt a centrosymmetric hexagonal close-packed(hcp)structure.Despite different structures,both series of HEAs are found to be bulk superconductors with a full energy gap,and the superconducting transition temperature Tc tends to decrease with the increase of VEC.Nevertheless,the Tc values of the hcp-type HEAs are higher than those of theα-Mn-type ones,likely due to a stronger electron phonon coupling.Furthermore,we show that VEC and electronegativity difference are two key parameters to control the stability ofα-Mn and hcp-type HEAs.These results not only are helpful for the design of such HEAs,but also represent the first realization of structurally different HEA superconductors without changing the constituent elements. | Bin Liu Jifeng Wu Yanwei Cui Qjnqing Zhu Guorui Xiao Siqi Wu Guang-han Cao Zhi Ren | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,26: | 5 |
| 2 | Influence of Na^+,K^+,Mg^(2+),Ca^(2+),and Fe^(3+) on filterability and settleability of drilling sludge显示文摘Solid–liquid separation is a vital step in drilling sludge disposal, and the filterability and settleability of drilling sludge are the main evaluating indicators for the separation process. The influence of Na^+,K^+,Mg^(2+),Ca^(2+),and Fe^(3+) on drilling sludge filterability and settleability was investigated in our research. The water content,filtration rate, supernatant volume and supernatant turbidity were measured to evaluate the filterability and settleability of drilling sludge. Meanwhile, the zeta potential, specific surface area of sludge flocs, particle size distribution and Fourier-transformed infrared spectra were employed to clarify the influencing mechanism.The experimental results showed that the filterability and settleability of drilling sludge were related to concentration and types of cations. Mg^(2+),Ca^(2+),and Fe^(3+) performed better than Na^+, K^+, and the cations with smaller hydrated radius got superior solid–liquid separation behavior at same valence. Finally, the spectra indicated that no chemical adsorption occurred between inorganic cations and drilling sludge flocs. | 3 | Effects of Solvent Molecules on the Interlayer Spacing of Graphene Oxide显示文摘Graphene oxide(GO) contains numerous functional groups that facilitate the intercalation of polar solvents. The properties and applications of GO are closely related to its interlayer spacing. We report on the changes in the interlayer spacing of GO after the adsorption of water molecules and the polar organic solvents C_2H_6O_2(EG), C_3H_7NO(DMF), C_5H_9NO(NMP). Experiments were conducted to investigate the variations in the functional groups and structure of GO after solvent adsorption, and they play a vital role in modeling and verifying the results of molecular dynamics simulation. The most stable GO structures are obtained through molecular dynamics simulation. The expansion of the interlayer spacing of GO after the adsorption of monolayer solvent molecules corresponds to the minimum three-dimensional size of the solvent molecules. The spatial arrangement of solvent molecules also contributes to the changes in interlayer spacing. Most adsorbed molecules are oriented parallel to the carbon plane of GO. However, as additional molecules are adsorbed into the interlaminations of GO, the adsorbed molecules are oriented perpendicular to the carbon plane of GO, and a large space forms between two GO interlayers. | 6 | Small-scale waste incinerators in rural China:Potential risks of dioxin and polychlorinated naphthalene emissions显示文摘Rapid development has led to a tremendous increase in the volume of solid waste produced in rural China.The annual amount of solid waste produced from Chinese rural areas is approximately 110 million tons.Many small-scale solid waste incinerators have been built in Chinese rural areas.It was speculated that the emissions and potential risks of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs,commonly known as dioxins)and polychlorinated naphthalenes(PCNs)from these incinerators could be serious.A preliminary case investigation on PCDD/F and PCN emissions from a small-scale waste incinerator was performed.The stack gas samples were collected using auto isokinetic sampling techniques and PCDD/F and PCN congeners were identified and quantified by high resolution gas chromatography combined with high resolution mass spectrometry.Concentrations and toxic equivalents of PCDD/Fs emitted from the small-scale waste incinerator were 153 ngm^-3 and 5.6 ng TEQ m^-3,respectively,which was much higher than the regulatory level for municipal solid waste incinerators permitted in China and the European Union Directive.PCNs have similar toxicological effects with PCDD/Fs,and the relative potency factors(RPFs)of some PCN congeners(dioxin-like PCNs)to 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin(TCDD)were previously proposed to evaluate the dioxin-like toxicity of PCNs.The mass concentrations of PCNs and dioxin-like PCNs from the small-scale solid incinerator were 2927 ngm^-3 and 1137 ngm^-3,much higher than that of dioxins.However,much less attention has been paid to the small-scale incinerators compared with municipal solid waste incinerators.Here,we proposed that there should be a growing need to focus on the emissions and potential risks of dioxins and dioxin-like pollutants from these small-scale waste incinerators in rural China. | Lili Yang Guorui Liu Qingqing Zhu Minghui Zheng | 2019 | Emerging Contaminants2019,5,1: | 1 |
| 7 | Superconductivity and strong spin-orbit coupling in a new noncentrosymmetric compound ThIrP显示文摘A new noncentrosymmetric phosphide ThIrP has been synthesized and characterized. X-ray difraction analysis shows that this compound crystallizes in a LaPtSi-type tetragonal lattice(space group I41md, Z = 4), whose lattice parameters are a = b =4.0676(1) ?, c = 14.3354(2) ?, and V = 237.191(8) ?3. Moreover, ThIrP is discovered to be an intermediately coupled,type-Ⅱ superconductor with possibly multiple gaps below Tc= 5.07 K. The upper critical magnetic field, Sommerfield coefficient, and Ginzburg-Laudau parameter are determined based on physical property measurements, which are Bc2= 0.83 T, γ =7.5 mJ mol-1 K-2, and κGL= 7.5, respectively. The electronic band structure calculations point out nearly equal contributions of Ir and Th atoms on the density of states around the Fermi surface. In addition, the spin-orbit coupling induced band splitting reaches as large as 270 meV along the Γ-Z line. | 9 | Investigation of the Vibration Behavior of Fluidelastic Instability in Closely Packed Square Tube Arrays显示文摘Flow-induced vibrations in heat exchanger tubes have led to numerous accidents and economic losses in the past. Fluidelastic instability is the most critical flow-induced vibration mechanism in heat exchangers. Both experimental and computational studies conducted to determine fluidelastic instability were presented in this paper. In the experiment, a water channel was built, and a closely packed normal square tube array with a pitch-to-diameter ratio of 1.28 was tested, and significant fluidelastic instability was observed. A numerical model adopting large-eddy simulation and moving mesh was established using ANSYS CFX, and results showed good agreement with the experimental findings. The vibration behaviors of fluidelastic instability were discussed, and results showed that the dominant vibration direction of the tubes changed from streamwise to transverse beyond a critical velocity. A 180° phase lag between adjacent tubes was observed in both the experiment and simulations. Normal and rotated square array cases with pitch-to-diameter ratios of 1.28 and 1.5 were also simulated. The coal particle size, bulk compactness, and aqueous solution properties significantly affect the imbibition ability of extinguishment. This work aims to reveal the influence of the properties of pulverized coals and aqueous solution on the imbibition ability of extinguishant for smoldering fire through experiments and capillary theories. The imbibition height and rate were adopted to evaluate the imbibition ability of extinguishment. The results showed that a relatively small bulk compactness and a fine coal particle size negatively influenced the extinguishing process dominantly because of its high surface energy and low wettability. An additive was used to adjust the properties of aqueous solution. | 13 | Impact–sliding fretting tribocorrosion behavior of 316L stainless steel in solution with different halide concentrations显示文摘Impact–sliding caused by random vibrations between tubes and supports can affect the operation of heat exchangers.In addition,a corrosive environment can cause damage,accelerating the synergism of corrosion and wear.Therefore,the focus of this work was the impact–sliding fretting tribocorrosion behavior of 316L heat exchanger tubes at different halide concentrations.A device system incorporating the in situ electrochemical measurements of impact–sliding fretting corrosion wear was constructed,and experiments on 316L heat exchanger tubes in sodium chloride(NaCl)solution with different concentrations(0.0,0.1,0.5,1.0,3.5,and 5.0 wt%)were carried out.The synergism between wear and corrosion was also calculated and analyzed.The wear and damage mechanisms were elucidated by correlating the corrosion–wear synergism,morphologies,and material loss rates.The results indicated that the stable wear stage occurred at approximately 9–12 h,after which the corrosion current increased with the expansion of the wear area.As the halide concentration increased,the scale of damage on the wear scars gradually decreased,changing from being dominated by cracks,delaminations,and grooves to being dominated by scratches,microgrooves,and holes.There was an obvious positive synergism between wear and corrosion.The material loss was dominated by pure mechanical wear and wear enhanced by corrosion,but corrosion enhanced by wear contributed more than tangential sliding fretting corrosion.The total mass loss increased gradually in the range of 0.0–0.5 wt%and decreased in the range of 0.5–5.0 wt%.Large-scale damage enhanced by corrosivity and small-scale damage reduced by lubricity dominated the material loss at low and high concentrations,respectively. | Xu MA Wei TAN Remy BONZOM Xue MI Guorui ZHU | 2023 | Friction2023,11,12: | 0 |
| 14 | A needle tip CCEA microfluidic device based on enhanced Dean flow for cell washing显示文摘Particle/cell washing is an essential technique in biological and clinical manipulations.Herein,we propose a novel circular contraction-expansion array(CCEA)microdevice.It can be directly connected to a needle tip without connection tubes.Its small size and centrosymmetric structure are beneficial to low sample consumption,high connection stability,and a wide application range.Computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation results show that the CCEA structure can produce a stronger Dean flow and lead to faster particle/cell focusing than the circle structure and CEA structure with the same length.Experimentally,an optimal flow rate ratio of 1:3 and an optimal total flow rate of 120μL/min were found to ensure a stable fluid distribution.Under these conditions,rapid focusing of 10-20μm particles with high efficiencies was achieved.Compared with a normal CEA device using tubes,the particle loss rate could be reduced from 64 to 7%when washing 500μL of a rare sample.Cell suspensions with concentrations from 3×10^(5)/mL to 1×10^(3)/mL were tested.The high cell collection efficiency(>85%for three cell lines)and stable waste removal efficiency(>80%)reflected the universality of the CCEA microfluidic device.After the washing,the cell activities of H1299 cells and MCF-7 cells were calculated to be 93.8 and 97.5%,respectively.This needle-tip CCEA microfluidic device showed potential in basic medical research and clinical diagnosis. | Xin Shi Wei Tan Yuwen Lu Wenfeng Cao Guorui Zhu | 2021 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2021,7,5: | 0 |

| 16 | Migration of Cr_2O_7^(2-) and Butanone in Soil and Groundwater System After the Tianjin Port 8·12 Explosion显示文摘After the Tianjin Port 8·12 explosion, an enormous amount of potassium dichromate(K_2Cr_2O_7) and butanone(CH_3COCH_2CH_3) leaked into the coastal soil–groundwater system, which potentially threatened the environment and human health. Determining the transport process of hazards is necessary to establish guidelines for remediating the contaminated area. This work aims to investigate the migration of potassium dichromate and butanone in the coastal soil-groundwater system through a coupling unsaturated–saturated numerical model, incorporating the HYDRUS model into the MODFLOW/MT3D model. In the unsaturated zone, two-dimensional HYDRUS model was applied, and its recharge flux at the bottom boundary was utilized as the input of MODFLOW/MT3D model in the saturated zone. Results showed that Cr_2O_7^(2-) migrated much faster than butanone in the unsaturated zone and reached the water table in about 1 year. In comparison, butanone was unlikely to enter the aquifer even 5 years later with a migration depth of about 2.2 m. Driven by groundwater, the Cr_2O_7^(2-) that entered the aquifer migrated about 161 m toward southeast 5 years later. | 17 | A boronic acid conjugation integrates antitumor drugs into albumin-binding prodrugs-based nanoparticles with robust efficiency for cancer therapy显示文摘Despite great therapeutic effect of Abraxane®,complex preparation technology and unfavorable pharmacokinetics still restricted the clinical application of albumin-based paclitaxel(PTX)nanoparticles(NPs).Herein,we reported that an albumin-binding prodrug,phenylboronic acid-conjugated PTX(P-PTX),can form the uniform NPs with the diameters around 100 nm with the help of albumin via simple one-step nano-precipitation method.The albumin-based nanomedicines were stabilized by the integration of a single boronic acid with PTX due to the increased affinity based on multiple intermolecular interactions.We found that albumin-based P-PTX NPs exhibited superior colloidal stability over albumin-based PTX NPs through one-step nanoprecipitation approach,achieving longer in vivo circulation time and higher concentration in tumor than those of the marketed Abraxane®.Furthermore,the albumin-based P-PTX NPs with great stability and enhanced intratumoral enrichment,increased the maximum tolerated dose of PTX,remarkably suppressed the growth of breast tumor and lung metastasis,prolonged survival of melanoma tumors-bearing mice.Such a convenient and effective system gains an insight into the impact of phenylboronic acid group on the albumin-based PTX NPs,provides potent strategy for the rational design of albumin-based antitumor nanomedicines. | Weiyue Ban Qiuhua Luo Chengda Yan Xiaoying Fan Guorui Zhu Maosheng Cheng Zhonggui He Mengchi Sun Jin Sun | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,5: | 0 |
