1Highly expressed BMP9/GDF2 in postnatal mouse liver and lungs may account for its pleiotropic effects on stem cell differentiation,angiogenesis,tumor growth and metabolism显示文摘Bone morphogenetic protein 9(BMP9)(or GDF2)was originally identified from fetal mouse liver cDNA libraries.Emerging evidence indicates BMP9 exerts diverse and pleiotropic functions during postnatal development and in maintaining tissue homeostasis.However,the expression landscape of BMP9 signaling during development and/or in adult tissues remains to be analyzed.Here,we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the expression landscape of BMP9 and its signaling mediators in postnatal mice.By analyzing mouse ENCODE transcriptome datasets we found Bmp9 was highly expressed in the liver and detectable in embryonic brain,adult lungs and adult placenta.We next conducted a comprehensive qPCR analysis of RNAs isolated from major mouse tissues/organs at various ages.We found that Bmp9 was highly expressed in the liver and lung tissues of young adult mice,but decreased in older mice.Interestingly,Bmp9 was only expressed at low to modest levels in developing bones.BMP9-associated TGFβ/BMPR type I receptor Alk1 was highly expressed in the adult lungs.Furthermore,the feedback inhibitor Smads Smad6 and Smad7 were widely expressed in mouse postnatal tissues.However,the BMP signaling antagonist noggin was highly expressed in fat and heart in the older age groups,as well as in kidney,liver and lungs in a biphasic fashion.Thus,our findings indicate that the circulating BMP9 produced in liver and lungs may account for its pleiotropic effects on postnatal tissues/organs although possible roles of BMP9 signaling in liver and lungs remain to be fully understood.Wei Liu Zhongliang Deng Zongyue Zeng Jiaming Fan Yixiao Feng Xi Wang Daigui Cao Bo Zhang Lijuan Yang Bin Liu Mikhail Pakvasa William Wagstaff Xiaoxing Wu Huaxiu Luo Jing Zhang Meng Zhang Fang He Yukun Mao Huiming Ding Yongtao Zhang Changchun Niu Rex C.Haydon Hue H.Luu Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Michael J.Lee Wei Huang Tong-Chuan He Yulong Zou 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,2:9
2Dynamic Stability Analysis of Wedge in Rock Slope Based on Kinetic Vector Method显示文摘A new method(kinetic vector method, KVM) is presented for analyzing the dynamic stability of wedge in rock slope. The dynamic analysis is carried out based on three dimensional distinct element code(3DEC), and the kinetic inertial force of the wedge under seismic loading can be obtained via calculating the net vectorial nodal force of the finite difference grid. Then, the factor of safety(FOS) of the wedge can be calculated based on limit equilibrium method(LEM) at each dynamic analysis step, therefore time series of the FOS for whole earthquake process can be obtained. For the purpose of evaluating the entire dynamic stability of the wedge, dynamic factor of safety(DFOS) is proposed and defined as a numerical value corresponding with a given rate of probability guarantee based on reliability theory. Consequently, the KVM inherits the merits of the LEM and also has fully nonlinear dynamic analysis capabilities, and the feasibility and correctness of the KVM are tested by an example given by Hoek and Bray(1981). 3Scientific challenges of research on natural hazards and disaster risk显示文摘As a discipline,the science of natural hazards and disaster risk aims to explain the spatial-temporal pattern,process and mechanism,emergency response and risk mitigation of natural hazards,which requires a multidisci-plinary and interdisciplinary approach.With the support of Natural Science Finance of China(NSFC)and Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),in-depth research and systematic analysis on natural hazards and disaster risk were conducted.In this paper,the state of the art in research on natural hazards is summarized from seven aspects:formation process,mechanism and dynamic of natural hazards,disaster risk assessment,forecast,monitoring and early warning,disaster mitigation,emergency treatment and rescue,risk management and post-disaster re-construction.The trends within the natural hazards and disaster risk as a discipline were identified,along with existing shortcomings and significant gaps that need to be addressed.This paper highlighted:1)the scientific challenges including the frontier scientific issues and technological gaps on natural hazards and disaster risk dis-cipline from 2025 to 2035 in China,and 2)the proposal to develop a systemic and holistic natural hazards and disaster risk discipline.Peng Cui Jianbing Peng Peijun Shi Huiming Tang Chaojun Ouyang Qiang Zou Lianyou Liu Changdong Li Yu Lei 2021Geography and Sustainability2021,2,3:3
4Start-up Characteristics of Linear Compressors in a Refrigeration System显示文摘This work investigates the start-up characteristics of linear compressors in a refrigeration system through experiment and simulation.Experiments are carried out by a refrigeration test system with a linear compressor controlled by a LabVIEW platform.A simulation model that considers the nonlinear process of gas force is set up on the basis of Runge-Kutta method for linear compressors.Compared with the experimental results,the simulation errors are within 15%,including the unstable state.The influences of ambient temperature and power frequency on linear compressors are studied through experiments.Unstable phenomena exist at 25℃ ambient temperature compared with the designed ambient temperature of 35℃.The unsteadiness mechanism is analyzed by simulation.Simulation analysis indicated that two sensitive stages of linear compressors,namely,starting to pump and touching top dead center,are unstable.Furthermore,properly increasing equivalent mass (approximately 3%) or spring stiffness doring the design stage can be a practical method to improve the stability of linear compressors.ZOU Huiming LI Xuan TANG Mingsheng TIAN Changqing 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,2:1

9Experiment Investigation and Control Strategies on Two-Phase Refrigerant Injection Heat Pump System for Electric Vehicle in Start-up Stage显示文摘Due to the poor heating performance and operating safety in low ambient temperature,traditional Air Source Heat Pump(ASHP)for Electric Vehicles(EVs)has many limits in cold region,which can be solved by the ASHP with refrigerant injection.During the start-up stage of EV in winter,the inlet air temperature of the in-car condenser is the same as the ambient temperature.At this situation,the performance and control strategy of the heat pump require special attention.In the present study,a series of experiments were carried out on the heating performance of the Refrigerant Injection Heat Pump(RIHP)system in start-up stage of EV,at the ambient temperature from–20℃ to–5℃.The effects of compressor speed and injected refrigerant state on the heating performance of the system were discussed in depth.According to the results,the control strategies during start-up stage have been discussed in the end of the article.The study provides a practical control strategy for the RIHP system during the start-up stage of electric vehicles,helping to efficiently operate electric vehicles in cold regions.QIN Fei LIU Hanzhou ZOU Huiming CHEN Deqi TIAN Changqing 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,3:1

11Mechanical-electro-magnetic coupling in strained bilayer CrI3显示文摘The discovery of intrinsic 2D ferromagnets provides exciting possibilities for spintronics applications. A particularly attractive example is CrI3, whose monolayer is ferromagnetic while bilayer shows antiferromagnetic coupling. Because of weak interlayer coupling, the magnetism of bilayer CrI3 can be easily modulated by external perturbations, such as gating or pressure. Here, we constructed a magnetic phase diagram of bilayer CrI3 under arbitrary biaxial strain(within ±4%) from compression to stretch,and found that compressive strain can effectively convert the antiferromagnetic coupling of bilayer CrI3 to ferromagnetic.Detailed analyses on electronic structure were then performed to unravel the underlying mechanism of the magnetic phase transition. It was shown that both band gap and orbital composition at conduction band minimum play important roles in determining magnetic ground states of strained bilayer CrI3. 12Strain effects on the interfacial thermal conductance of graphene/h-BN heterostructure显示文摘Previous experimental and computational results have confirmed that the thermal conductivity of a twodimensional(2D) material can be considerably affected by strain. Numerous attention has been paid to explore the relevant mechanisms. However, the strain effects on the interfacial thermal conductance(ITC) of 2D heterostructure have attracted little attention. Herein, the non-equilibrium molecular dynamics(NEMD) simulations were conducted to the graphene/hexagonal boron nitride(GR/h-BN) heterostructure to investigate the strain effects on the ITC. Three types of strains were considered, i.e., tensile strain, compressive strain, and shear strain.The results indicate that the strain can adjust the ITC for the GR/h-BN heterostructure effectively, and the strain loading direction also influences the ITC. Generally, the tensile strain reduces the ITC of the heterostructure, in addition to the BN-C system at small tensile strain;both the compressive strain and shear strain increase the ITC,especially at a small strain. For the NB-C system, it is more sensitive to the strain loading direction and the yx shear strain of 0.06 is the most effective way to strengthen the ITC.
