1Magma mixing of granites at Lianghe:In-situ zircon analysis for trace elements, U-Pb ages and Hf isotopes显示文摘In this paper, we report an integrated study of trace element, U-Pb age and Hf isotopic composition of zircons from alkali feldspar granites, granodiorites and diorite enclaves in a recently discovered ring complex at Lianghe in western Yunnan, Chi na. The granitoids showed identical U-Pb ages of 127, 115 and 122 Ma, from felsic to mafic, but had different zircon trace el ements and Hf isotopic compositions. Trace element content decreased with a gradual increase in εHf(t) values of ?9.1 to ?5.4, ?4.5 to 0, and 3.6 to 6.2, respectively. Results indicate that changes in zircon trace elements generally correlate with changes in Hf isotope signatures within single samples and among various granitoids. These relationships reflect the mixing of felsic and mafic magmas. Evidence indicates that depleted mantle-derived mafic magma underplating caused ancient crustal melting, and then formed large-scale granites in Lianghe during the Early Cretaceous. 2Prevalence of Thyroid Nodules and Its Relationship with Iodine Status in Shanghai:a Population-based Study显示文摘Objective This study was designed to evaluate the prevalence of thyroid nodules(TNs) and its relationship with urine iodine concentrations(UICs) after the regional rapid economic growth and lifestyle changes. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the general population aged 15-69 years. A questionnaire regarding general and personal characteristics and relevant information was administered. Ultrasonography of the thyroid was performed, and serum triiodothyronine(T3), tetraiodothyronine(T4), serum thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH), free triiodothyronine(FT3), free tetraiodothyronine(FT4), thyroglobulin antibody(Tg Ab), thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb), and TSH receptor antibody(TRAb) levels were measured for each individual subject. Results The prevalence rates of TNs in the whole population, females and males were 27.76%, 34.04%, and 21.60%, respectively. The prevalence of multiple nodules increased with age, whereas the prevalence peaks differed between males and females. The median UICs in the whole population and females with non-TNs were higher than those of subjects with TNs(P=0.0035, P=0.0068). The median UICs in subjects with a single TN were higher than those in subjects with multiple TNs(P=0.0164, P=0.0127). The result showed a U-shaped curve relationship between UIC and prevalence of TNs. The prevalence of TNs was the lowest when the UIC was 140-400 μg/L. Conclusion The prevalence of TNs was nearly 30% and increased with age. The relationship between UIC and prevalence of TNs is U-shaped, with an increase in risk when the UIC was <140 μg/L and >400 μg/L. 3Overexpression of B7-H3 augments anti-apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells by Jak2-STAT3显示文摘AIM:To investigate the role of the overexpression of B7-H3 in apoptosis in colorectal cancer cell lines and the underlying molecular mechanisms.METHODS:SW620 cells that highly overexpressed B7-H3(SW620-B7-H3-EGFP)and HCT8 cells stably transfected with B7-H3 sh RNA(HCT8-sh B7-H3)were previously constructed in our laboratory.Cells transfected with p IRES2-EGFP were used as negative controls(SW620-NC and HCT8-NC).Real-time PCR and western blotting analysis were used to detect the m RNA and protein expressions of the apoptosis regulator proteins Bcl-2,Bcl-xl and Bax.A cell proliferation assay was used to evaluate the survival rate and drug sensitivity of the cells.The effect of drug resistance was detected by a cell cycle assay.Active caspase-3western blotting was used to reflect the anti-apoptotic ability of cells.Western blotting was also performed to determine the expression of proteins associated with the Jak2-STAT3 signaling pathway and the apoptosis regulator proteins after the treatment with AG490,a Jak2 specific inhibitor,in B7-H3 overexpressing cells.The data were analyzed by Graph Pad Prism 6 using a non-paired t-test.RESULTS:Whether by overexpression in SW620cells or downregulation in HCT8,B7-H3 significantly affected the expression of anti-and pro-apoptotic proteins,at both the transcriptional and translational levels,compared with the negative control(P<0.05).A cell proliferation assay revealed that B7-H3overexpression increased the drug resistance of cells and resulted in a higher survival rate(P<0.05).In addition,the results of cell cycle and active caspase-3western blotting proved that B7-H3 overexpression inhibited apoptosis in colorectal cancer cell lines(P<0.05).B7-H3 overexpression improved Jak2 and STAT3phosphorylation and,in turn,increased the expression of the downstream anti-apoptotic proteins B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2(Bcl-2)and Bcl-xl,based on western blotting(P<0.05).After treating B7-H3 overexpressing cells with the Jak2-specific inhibitor AG490,the phosphorylation of Jak2 and STAT3,and the expression of Bcl-2 and Bcl-xl,decreased accordingly(P<0.05).This finding suggested that the Jak2-STAT3 pathway is involved in the mechanism mediating the anti-apoptotic ability of B7-H3.CONCLUSION:The overexpression of B7-H3 induces resistance to apoptosis in colorectal cancer cell lines by upregulating the Jak2-STAT3 signaling pathway,potentially providing new approaches to the treatment of colorectal cancer.Ting Zhang Bo Jiang Shi-Tao Zou Fen Liu Dong Hua 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,6:21

5Clinical significance of changes in the Th17/Treg ratio in autoimmune liver disease显示文摘AIM To investigate the levels, ratios, and clinical significance of T helper 17(Th17) cells and regulatory T(Treg) cells in the peripheral blood of patients with autoimmune liver disease(AILD). METHODS F o r t y-t w o A I L D p a t i e n t s w e r e i n c l u d e d i n t h e experimental group(group E), and 11 healthy subjects were recruited as the control group(group C). Flow cytometry was performed to determine the percentages of Th17 and Treg cells in peripheral blood lymphocytes. Furthermore, a range of biochemical indices was measured simultaneously in the blood of group E patients. RESULTS The percentage of Th17 cells and the Th17/Treg ratio were higher in group E than in group C(P < 0.01), whereas the percentage of Tregs was lower in the group E patients(P < 0.05). Patients in group E who were admitted with AILD in the active stage showed significantly higher Th17 percentages and Th17/Treg ratios than those measured in patients with AILD in remission(P < 0.05). In addition, among patients with AILD in the active stage, individuals that remained unhealed after hospitalization showed significantly higher baseline values of the Th17 percentage and the Th17/Treg ratio than those detected in patients who improved after treatment(P < 0.05). 7Evaluation of cracking potential for concrete arch dam based on simulation feedback analysis显示文摘It is still very difficult for researchers and engineers to implement the simulation analysis including a complete process and a full model with the complicated arch dam and the foundation, and to evaluate the cracking potential in the construction and service periods. To take Xiaowan project of China for an example, a practical system of simulation feedback analysis, a specific cracking criterion, and a resolution for the conflicting requirements of temperature and stress/strain simulation are presented, which are put into a successful practice. The simulation results of temperature, stress, and cracking are identical well with the monitor data. 9Shade stress decreases stem strength of soybean through restraining lignin biosynthesis显示文摘Lodging is the most important constraint for soybean growth at seedling stage in maize-soybean relay strip intercropping system.In the field experiments,three soybean cultivars Nandou 032-4(shade susceptible cultivar; B1),Jiuyuehuang(moderately shade tolerant cultivar; B2),and Nandou 12(shade tolerant cultivar; B3) were used to evaluate the relationship between stem stress and lignin metabolism in the stem of soybean.Results showed that the intercropped soybean was in variable light condition throughout the day time and co-growth stage with maize.The xylem area and cross section ratio played a main role to form the stem stress.The B3 both in intercropping and monocropping expressed a high stem stress with higher xylem area,lignin content,and activity of enzymes(phenylalanine ammonia-lyase(PAL),4-coumarate: CoA ligase(4CL),cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase(CAD),and peroxidase(POD)) than those of B1 and B2.Among the soybean cultivars and planting pattern,lignin content was positively correlated with stem stress.However,a negative correlation was found between lignin content and actual rate of lodging.In conclusion,the shade tolerant soybean cultivar had larger xylem area,higher lignin content and activities of CAD,4CL,PAL,and POD than other soybean cultivars in intercropping.The lodging in maize-soybean intercropping can be minimized by planting shade tolerant and lodging resistant cultivar of soybean.The lignin content in stem could be a useful indicator for the evaluation of lodging resistance of soybean in intercropping and activities of enzymes were the key factors that influence the lignin biosynthesis.LIU Wei-guo Sajad Hussain LIU Ting ZOU Jun-lin REN Meng-lu ZHOU Tao LIU Jiang YANG Feng YANG Wen-yu 2019Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,1:8
10GRAIN LENGTH AND AWN 1 negatively regulates grain size in rice显示文摘Grain size is an important factor determining yield in rice. Here, we identified a recessive mutant gene, grain length and awn 1 (gla1), which caused a significant increase in grain length and weight, and was associated with long awns. The gla1 mutation was mapped to a single-nucleotide polymorphism in a gene encoding a cytoplasmically-localized mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) phosphatase. Overexpression of GLA1 caused a decrease in grain length, and the GLA1 protein interacted with OsMAPK6. 13Jet formation in shock-heavy gas bubble interaction显示文摘The influences of the acoustic impedance and shock strength on the jet formation in shock-heavy gas bubble interaction are numerically studied in this work. The process of a shock interacting with a krypton or a SF 6 bubble is studied by the numerical method VAS2D. As a validation, the experiments of a SF 6 bubble accelerated by a planar shock were performed. The results indicate that, due to the mismatch of acoustic impedance, the way of jet formation in heavy gas bubble with different species is diversified under the same initial condition. With respect to the same bubble, the manner of jet formation is also distinctly different under different shock strengths. The disparities of the acoustic impedance result in different effects of shock focusing in the bubble, and different behaviors of shock wave inside and outside the bubble. The analyses of the wave pattern and the pressure variation indicate that the jet formation is closely associated with the pressure perturbation. Moreover, the analysis of the vorticity deposition, and comparisons of circulation and baroclinic torque show that the baroclinic vorticity also contributes to the jet formation. 15Optogenetics-induced activation of glutamate receptors improves memory function in mice with Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Optogenetics is a combination of optics and genetics technology that can be used to activate or inhibit specific cells in tissues. It has been used to treat Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and neurological diseases, but rarely Alzheimer’s disease. Adeno-associated virus carrying the CaMK promoter driving the optogenetic channelrhodopsin-2 (CHR2) gene (or without the CHR2 gene, as control) was injected into the bilateral dentate gyri, followed by repeated intrahippocampal injections of soluble low-molecular-weight amyloid-β1–42 peptide (Aβ1–42). Subsequently, the region was stimulated with a 473 nm laser (1–3 ms, 10 Hz, 5 minutes). The novel object recognition test was conducted to test memory function in mice. Immunohistochemical staining was performed to analyze the numbers of NeuN and synapsin Ia/b-positive cells in the hippocampus. Western blot assay was carried out to analyze the expression levels of glial fibrillary acidic protein, NeuN, synapsin Ia/b, metabotropic glutamate receptor-1a (mGluR-1a), mGluR-5, N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit NR1, glutamate receptor 2, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6 and interleukin-10. Optogenetic stimulation improved working and short-term memory in mice with Alzheimer’s disease. This neuroprotective effect was associated with increased expression of NR1, glutamate receptor 2 and mGluR-5 in the hippocampus, and decreased expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein and interleukin-6. Our results show that optogenetics can be used to regulate the neuronal-glial network to ameliorate memory functions in mice with Alzheimer’s disease. 16The relationships of vitamin D, vitamin D receptor gene polymorphisms, and vitamin D supplementation with Parkinson's disease显示文摘In recent years,many studies have investigated the correlations between Parkinson's disease(PD)and vitamin D status,but the conclusion remains elusive.The present review focuses on the associations between PD and serum vitamin D levels by reviewing studies on the associations of PD with serum vitamin D levels and vitamin D receptor(VDR)gene polymorphisms from PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,and Embase databases.We found that PD patients have lower vitamin D levels than healthy controls and that the vitamin D concentrations are negatively correlated with PD risk and severity.Furthermore,higher vitamin D concentrations are linked to better cognitive function and mood in PD patients.Findings on the relationship between VDR gene polymorphisms and the risk of PD are inconsistent,but the Fokl(C/M)polymorphism is significantly linked with PD.The occurrence of Fokl(CT)gene polymorphism may influence the risk,severity,and cognitive ability of PD patients,while also possibly influencing the effect of Vitamin D3 supplementation in PD patients.In view of the neuroprotective effects of vitamin D and the close association between vitamin D and dopaminergic neurotransmission,interventional prospective studies on vitamin D supplementation in PD patients should be conducted in the future.Lingling Lv Xuling Tan Xinke Peng Rongrong Bai Qile Xiao Ting Zou Jieqiong Tan Hainan Zhang Chunyu Wang 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,3:5
17Effect and Safety of Kangfuyan Capsules(抗妇炎胶囊)for Relieving Chronic Pelvic Pain:A Multicenter,Randomized,Controlled,Double-Blind,Parallel-Group Clinical Trial显示文摘Objective To evaluate the effect and safety of Kangfuyan Capsules(抗妇炎胶囊)for treating pelvic inflammatory disease(PID)in patients with chronic pelvic pain(CPP)in a multicenter,randomized,controlled,double-blind,parallel-group clinical trial.Methods Totally,240 PID patients with CPP were randomized into 2 groups using a computer generated random number at a 1:1 ratio from 10 hospitals in China between September 2014 and November 2015.Patients received either oral Kangfuyan Capsules or Gongyanping Capsules(宫炎平胶囊,control);the regimen for both groups comprised 4 capsules(3 times daily)for 12 weeks,with follow-up visit 4 weeks after treatment.The visual analogue scale(VAS)scores,clinical responses,remarkable cure rates for each symptom,and quality of life scores were assessed at baseline,and after 1,2,and 3 months.Adverse events were also recorded.Results The VAS scores were significantly lower(P<0.05),whereas the clinical responses,remarkable cure rates for lower abdominal pain,uterine tenderness,adnexal mass,and adnexal tenderness,and Health-related quality of life(EQ-5D)scores were higher in the Kangfuyan group than in the control group at 3 months(P<0.05).Common treatment-related adverse events included high hepatic enzyme levels,reduced hemoglobin levels,and elevated platelet counts,although all the adverse events were either mild or moderate in severity.Conclusion Compared with Gongyanping therapy,Kangfuyan therapy yielded markedly better analgesia effects for CPP caused by PID,with obvious long-term efficacy and good safety.(Registration No.ChiCTR190022732)LIU Zhao-hui JIN Zhe ZHAO Hong LU Yao ZHEN Hui ZOU Ting 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,12:4
18Less and shrunken pollen 1(LSP1) encodes a member of the ABC transporter family required for pollen wall development in rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Pollen fertility is an agronomic trait that strongly influences rice yield. Recent studies have revealed that the development of the pollen wall is required for pollen fertility and is regulated by several genes. However, the mechanisms underlying pollen and pollen wall development in rice remain largely unknown. In the present study, a point mutation in a gene on chromosome 1 was identified that resulted in the production of less and shrunken pollen(LSP) and led to defects in pollen wall formation. This gene was named LSP1 and was found to encode a member of the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette(ABC)transporter G subfamily, OsABCG3. Two other loss-of-function mutants of LSP1/OsABCG3,generated using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, showed the same male sterile phenotype. The LSP1/OsABCG3 gene showed a spatio-temporal expression pattern in the developing anthers, and is an ortholog of the Arabidopsis genes At ABCG1 and At ABCG16, which play an important role in pollen wall development. Mutation of LSP1/OsABCG3 affected the expression of several genes involved in pollen and pollen wall formation. 19Hydraulic resistance partitioning between shoot and root system and plant water status of Haloxyolon ammodendron growing at sites of contrasting soil texture显示文摘Hydraulic resistance components and water relations were studied on Haloxyolon ammoden-dron,a small xeric tree,growing at sites significantly differed in soil texture.Soil water content,leaf water potential(ψl),xylem water potential(ψx),root water potential(ψroot),leaf transpiration rate(TR) and stomatal conductance(gs) were measured at the two sites during the growing season of 2005 and 2006.Leaf spe-cific hydraulic resistance(Rplant) during the whole growing season,hydraulic resistance of plants(Rp),shoots(Rshoot) and roots(Rroot) in the August of both years were calculated and expressed on leaf area basis.The results showed the proportion of the hydraulic resistance of the aerial part(Rshoot) to the Rp was the same to the proportion of the hydraulic resistance of the soil part(Rroot) to the Rp,indicating that both parts were equivalent important to plant water hydraulic system from soil to leaf.Positive significant corre-lations were found between Rp and Rroot,suggesting that root hydraulics resistance was a major determinant of plant hydraulic resistance(Rp) and transpiration rate.The integrated effect of stomatal control,hy-draulic regulation and morphology adjustment enabled plants at heavy soil site surviving the extreme water deficit period.Xu, GuiQing Li, Yan Zou, Ting 2010Journal of Arid Land2010,2,2:4
20Numerical study on the evolution of the shock-accelerated SF_6 interface:Influence of the interface shape显示文摘The early phases of the shock interaction process on two-dimensional interfaces with different shapes are numerically investigated in this study,which are closely related to the shock refraction and reflection,vorticity production and transport.The numerical method employs an adaptive unstructured quadrilateral mesh,which can capture the wave pattern and interface evolution very well.Simulations are carried out under the conditions of an incident shock Mach number of 1.2 and the light/heavy (air/SF 6) interface.Five different shapes are considered in the simulations:rectangle,ellipse,diamond and two kinds of triangle.The results show that the interfacial shapes can influence the wave patterns particularly on the shape and evolution of refracted shock waves.The generation and the distribution of vorticity on the interfaces with five different shapes also have dissimilarities.The circulation deposition on five interfaces is quantitatively investigated and compared with theoretical model.A good agreement is found between the numerical results and the predictions by the theoretical model.Some characteristic scales of the interface are tracked.Under the influence of nonlinear-acoustic effect and vorticity effect,the interfaces present different evolution modes.FAN MeiRu ZHAI ZhiGang SI Ting LUO XiSheng ZOU LiYong TAN DuoWang 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,2:4
