Paleogene Tectonic Evolution Controls on Sequence Stratigraphic Patterns in the Fushan Sag, Northern South China Sea显示文摘Tectonism is of extreme importance to sequence stratigraphic patterns in continental sedimentary basins, affecting both the architectures and internal makeup of sequences. Sequence stratigraphic framework of the Paleogene system in the Fushan sag, northern South China Sea, was built using 3D and 2D seismic data, complemented by drilling cores and well logs data. One first-order, three second-order and seven third-order sequences were identified. Analysis of paleotectonic stress field, unconformities and subsidence history showed that the Paleogene tectonic evolution presented significant characteristics of multistage and episode, and can be divided into three stages: rifting stage I(initial rifting period), rifting stage II(rapid subsidence period), rifting stage III(fault-depressed diversionary period). Partition of the west and east in tectonic activity was obvious. The west area showed relatively stronger tectonic activity than the east area, especially during the rifting stage II. Episodic rifting and lateral variations in tectonic activity resulted in a wide variety of structural slope break belts, which controlled both the sequence architectures and interval makeup, and strongly constrained the development of special facies zones or sand bodies that tended to form hydrocarbon accumulation. This paper classifies the genetic types of slope break belts and their relevant sequence stratigraphic patterns within the Fushan sag, and further discusses the tectonic evolution controls on sequence stratigraphic patterns, which suggests that vertical evolution paths of structural slope break belts and relevant sequence stratigraphic patterns as a response to the Paleogene tectonic evolution were strongly controlled by sag margin types and lateral variations of tectonic activity.Guanhong Wang Hua Wang Huajun Gan Entao Liu Cunyin Xia Yingdong Zhao Shanbin Chen Chengcheng Zhang 2016Journal of Earth Science2016,27,4:5
Soil total organic carbon/total nitrogen ratio as a key driver deterministically shapes diazotrophic community assemblages during the succession of biological soil crusts显示文摘The diazotrophic community in biological soil crusts(biocrusts)is the key supplier of nitrogen in dryland. To date, there is still limited information on how biocrust development influences the succession of diazotrophic community, and what are the most important factors mediating diazotrophic communities during biocrust succession.Using the high throughput nifH amplicon sequencing, the diazotrophs in soils at different developmental stages of biocrust were comparatively studied. The results evidenced the decreases of TOC/TN ratio and pH value with biocrust development.Nostoc and Scytonema were the most dominant diazotrophic genera at all biocrust stages, while Azospirillum and Bradyrhizobium were abundant only in bare soil.Diazotrophic co-occurrence networks tended to be less complex and less connected with biocrust succession. The soil TOC/TN ratio was the most dominant factor mediating diazotrophic diversity, community composition and assembly processes, while diazotrophic-diversity and NO3–-N/NH4+-N ratio were positively correlated with the nitrogenase activity during biocrust succession. This study provided novel understandings of nitrogen fixation and succession patterns of diazotrophic community,by showing the effects of biocrust succession on diazotrophic diversity, community composition, community assembly and co-occurrence networks, and recognizing TOC/TN ratio as the most dominant factor mediating diazotrophs during biocrust succession.Lin Xu Bingchang Zhang Entao Wang Bingjian Zhu Minjie Yao Chaonan Li Xiangzhen Li 2021Soil Ecology Letters2021,3,4:3
Effects of Long-Term Fertilization Strategies on Soil Productivity and Soybean Rhizobial Diversity in a Chinese Mollisol显示文摘Rhizobial diversity is affected by interactions between soil features, fertilization strategy, and cropping system. However, interactions among the rhizobial community, chemical-organic manure fertilization, and plant production have not been well documented in Mollisols from long-term experiments. Aimed at maintaining and recovering the productivity of Chinese Mollisols, a long-term fertilization experiment had been carried out for 29 years under a wheat-maize-soybean rotation system, involving the application of recycled organic manure (ROM), chemical fertilizers (N, P, and/or K), or ROM plus N, P, and/or K. In the present study, the effects of different treatments were evaluated by determining soil physicochemical features, soybean production, and soybean rhizobial diversity. The results showed that application of ROM plus NPK maintained or increased soil fertility, which was accompanied by higher production and higher diversity of rhizobia, as compared with the other treatments. The negative association of Bradyrhizobium japonicum with N fertilizer, positive association of B. diazoefficiens with soil pH, and alleviation of N-inhibition on the diversity of Bradyrhizobium by the addition of ROM were recorded as new findings. Therefore, application of ROM or ROM plus NPK could be a feasible strategy for maintaining and recovering the fertility of Chinese Mollisols, whereas rhizobial diversity could be an indicator of soil fertility.YAN Jun HAN Xiaozeng CHEN Xu LU Xinchun CHEN Wenfeng WANG Entao ZOU Wenxiu ZHANG Zhiming 2019Pedosphere2019,29,6:1

Taurolidine improved protection against highly pathogenetic avian influenza H5N1 virus lethal-infection in mouse model by regulating the NF-κB signaling pathway显示文摘Taurolidine(TRD),a derivative of taurine, has anti-bacterial and anti-tumor effects by chemically reacting with cell-walls,endotoxins and exotoxins to inhibit the adhesion of microorganisms. However, its application in antiviral therapy is seldom reported. Here,we reported that TRD significantly inhibited the replication of influenza virus H5N1 in MDCK cells with the half-maximal inhibitory concentration(EC_(50))of 34.45μg/mL.Furthermore,the drug inhibited the amplification of the cytokine storm effect and improved the survival rate of mice lethal challenged with H5N1(protection rate was 86%).Moreover,TRD attenuated virus-induced lung damage and reduced virus titers in mice lungs.Administration of TRD reduced the number of neutrophils and increased the number of lymphocytes in the blood of H5N1 virus-infected mice.Importantly, the drug regulated the NF-κB signaling pathway by inhibiting the separation of NF-κB and IκBa,thereby reducing the expression of inflammatory factors. In conclusion, our findings suggested that TRD could act as a potential anti-influenza drug candidate in further clinical studies.Chaoxiang Lv Yuanguo Li Tiecheng Wang Qiqi Zhang Jing Qi Mingwei Sima Entao Li Tian Qin Zhuangzhuang Shi Fangxu Li Xuefeng Wang Weiyang Sun Na Feng Songtao Yang Xianzhu Xia Ningyi Jin Yifa Zhou Yuwei Gao 2023Virologica Sinica2023,38,1:0
Major biological events and fossil energy formation: On the development of energy science under the earth system framework显示文摘In geological history, one major life explosion and five mass extinction events occurred. These major biological and environmental events affected the evolution of the Earth ecosystem and controlled the formation of organic-rich strata. The life explosion occurred in Cambrian and the five mass extinction events happened at the end of Ordovician, Late Devonian, end of Permian, end of Triassic, and end of Cretaceous, respectively. They are corresponded to the formation of multiple suites of organic-rich strata globally, which are crucial to the formation, evolution and distribution of the fossil energy on Earth. China’s energy is characterized by 'unlimited new energy, rich in coal but insufficient in oil and gas ', and it is determined to rely on new energy sources to achieve ' energy independence ' and carbon neutrality. From the perspective of the Earth system evolution, we investigate the multiple relationships between energy and Earth, energy and environment, as well as energy and human beings, and carry out comprehensive research on energy. Energy science refers to the science of studying the various energy sources formation and distribution, evaluation and selection, production and utilization, orderly replacement, development prospects, etc. in temporal and spatial scales based on the evolution of the Earth system. The connotation of energy science includes three core contents:(1) The relationship between the Earth and energy, including the formation of energy in the Earth system and the feedback of energy consumption to the Earth’s climate and environment;(2) The relationship between the Earth environment and the human beings, including the Earth environment breeding human beings and human activities transforming the earth environment;(3) The relationship between the energy and the human beings, including the development of energy technology by human beings and the progress of human society driven by energy utilization. The energy science focuses on the formation and development of fossil energy, development and orderly replacement of new energy, exploration and utilization of energy in deep earth and deep space, and energy development strategy and planning. The proposal of energy science is of great significance for improving the discipline system, promoting energy development, clarifying the development direction of energy transition, driving the carbon neutral geology research and constructing a habitable Earth.PAN Songqi ZOU Caineng LI Yong JING Zhenhua LIU Entao YUAN Ming ZHANG Guosheng YANG Zhi WU Songtao QIU Zhen LIU Hanlin 2021Petroleum Exploration and Development2021,48,3:0
What Caused the Inconsistency between Rb-Sr and^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar Ages of Authigenic Illites?显示文摘Radiogenic isotope dating of illitic clays has been widely used to reconstruct thermal and fluid flow events in siliciclastic sedimentary basins, the information of which is critical to investigate mechanisms of hydrocarbon maturation. This study carried out Rb-Sr and^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar dating of authigenic illitic clay samples separated from the Palaeogene sandstone in the northern South China Sea.Our Rb-Sr data further confirm the previously reported three periods of fluid flow events(at 34.5±0.9,31.2±0.6,and 23.6±0.8 Ma,respectively)in the northern South China Sea,which are related to regional episodic tectonism.However,^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar ages of illite obtained in this study are significantly younger than the corresponding Rb-Sr ages. The significantly younger^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar ages were probably due to ^(40)Ar loss caused by later dry heating events on the Hainan Island that have not affected the Rb-Sr isotopic systematics. The inconsistency between Rb-Sr and^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar data should be attributed to different isotopic behaviors of K-Ar and Rb-Sr isotopic systematics in illite. Our results indicate that Rb-Sr isotopic dating method may be a preferential approach for clay dating in geological settings where exist younger dry heating events.Entao Liu I.Tonguc Uysal Jian-Xin Zhao Zi'ao Zhang Xudong Lin 2022Journal of Earth Science2022,33,5:0
