3PIV measurements of turbulent jets issuing from triangular and circular orifice plates显示文摘The present study experimentally investigated the near-field flow mixing characteristics of two turbulent jets issuing from equilateral triangular and circular orifice plates into effectively unbounded surroundings,respectively.Planar particle image velocimetry(PIV) was applied to measure the velocity field at the same Reynolds number of Re=50,000,where Re = UeDe /with Ue being the exit bulk velocity and the kinematic viscosity of fluid,D e the equivalent diameters.The instantaneous velocity,mean velocity,Reynolds stresses were obtained.From the mean velocity field,the centreline velocity decay rate and half-velocity width were derived.Comparing the mixing characteristics of the two jets,it is found that the triangular jet has a faster mixing rate than the circular counterpart.The triangular jet entrainments with the ambient fluid at a higher rate in the near field.This is evidenced by a shorter unmixed core,faster Reynolds stress and centreline turbulence intensity growth.The primary coherent structures in the near field are found to break down more rapidly in the triangular jet as compared to the circular jet.Over the entire measurement region,the triangular jet maintained a higher rate of decay and spread.Moreover,all components of Reynolds stress of the triangular jet appear to reach their peaks earlier,and then decay more rapidly than those of the circular jet.In addition,the axis-switching phenomenon is observed in the triangular jet.XU MinYi ZHANG JianPeng MI JianChun NATHAN G J KALT P A M 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:7
4Whole-genome sequencing to detect mutations associated with resistance to insecticides and Bt proteins in Spodoptera frugiperda显示文摘The fall armyworm(FAW),Spodoptera frugiperda,is a major pest native to the Americas that has recently invaded the Old World.Point mutations in the target-site proteins acetylcholinesterase-1(ace-1),voltage-gated sodium channel(VGSC)and ryanodine receptor(RyR)have been identified in S.frugiperda as major resistance mechanisms to organophosphate,pyrethroid and diamide insecticides respectively.Mutations in the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette transporter C2 gene(ABCC2)have also been identified to confer resistance to Cry IF protein.In this study,we applied a whole-genome sequencing(WGS)approach to identify point mutations in the target-site genes in 150 FAW individuals collected from China,Malawi,Uganda and Brazil.This approach revealed three amino acid substitutions(A201S,G227A and F290V)of S.frugiperda ace-1,which are known to be associated with organophosphate resistance.The Brazilian population had all three ace-1 point mutations and the 227A allele(mean frequency=0.54)was the most common.Populations from China,Malawi and Uganda harbored two of the three ace-1 point mutations(A201S and F290V)with the 290V allele(0.47-0.58)as the dominant allele.Point mutations in VGSC(T929I,L932F and L1014F)and RyR(I4790M and G4946E)were not detected in any of the 150 individuals.A novel 12-bp insertion mutation in exon 15 of the ABCC2 gene was identified in some of the Brazilian individuals but absent in the invasive populations.Our results not only demonstrate robustness of the WGS-based genomic approach for detection of resistance mutations,but also provide insights for improvement of resistance management tactics in S.frugiperda.Fang Guan Jianpeng Zhang Huiwen Shen Xingliang Wang Amanda Padovan Tom K.Walsh Wee Tek Tay Karl H.J.Gordon William James Cecilia Czepak Michael Hilary Otim Donald Kachigamba Yidong Wu 2021Insect Science2021,28,3:6
5Comparison of soil physico-chemical properties under different land-use and cover types in northeastern China's Horqin Sandy Land显示文摘The Horqin Sandy Land of northeastern China was originally a grassland with plenty of water and lush vegetation dominated by palatable grass species along with sparsely scattered woody species. However, it has experienced severe desertification in recent decades due to its fragile ecology together with inappropriate human activities. Currently, the landscape of the Horqin Sandy Land is dominated by irrigated croplands and sand dunes with different degrees of vegetation cover, as the region has become the most important part of the semiarid agro-pastoral ecotone of northern China. In this study, we compared soil physical and chemical properties under different land-use and cover types(irrigated cropland, rainfed cropland, sandy grassland, fixed dunes, and mobile dunes). We found that soil particle size distribution; organic C, total N, and total mineral element, microelement, and available microelement and nutrient contents; p H; CEC; and bulk density differed significantly among the land-use and cover types. In general, soil quality was highest in the cropland, intermediate in the sandy grassland, and lowest in the dunes. The most important soil quality attribute, soil organic carbon(SOC) storage, decreased in the following order: irrigated cropland(5,699 g/m^2) > sandy grassland(3,390 g/m^2) > rainfed cropland(2,411 g/m^2) > fixed dunes(821 g/m^2) > mobile dunes(463 g/m^2). SOC was significantly positively correlated with a large proportion of the other soil physico-chemical parameters. 8Novel smart supramolecular metallo-hydrogel that could selectively recognize and effectively remove Pb^(2+) in aqueous solution显示文摘A series of novel and simple ligands based on a biscarboxyl-functionalized benzimidazole derivative were synthesized.The experiments showed that the ligand L2 as a low molecular weight(LMW) hydrogelator could form stable metallo-hydrogels in the presence of up to 0.3 equiv.of lead ions.The metallo-hydrogels were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopic techniques.When the molar ratio of L2:Pb2+ was in the range of 1:0.3 to 1:0.5 a translucent gel was produced.When the L2:Pb2+ molar ratio was higher than 1:0.5 the resulting gel tended to be opaque.The morphologies of these metallo-hydrogels were L2/Pb ratio dependent,ranging from worm-like to rod-shaped and nanofibrous.The FT-IR and X-ray diffraction(XRD) studies revealed that L2-Pb complexation was the main driving force for the formation of the metallo-hydrogels.In addition,these metallo-hydrogels exhibited outstanding thermostability and thermoreversibility,and displayed a reversible sol-gel transition induced by changes in pH and EDTA concentration.Importantly,ligand L2 showed an excellent capacity for the removal of Pb 2+ in aqueous solution through the formation of metallo-hydrogels.At a L2:Pb molar ratio of 1:0.5 and below,the concentration of residual Pb2+ was as low as 7.6×10-5 mol/L in aqueous solution,and the removal ratio was as high as 95.4%.These results demonstrate that multi-channel responsive smart metallo-hydrogels have the potential to be widely applied in materials science,and might provide the basis for lead pollution capture and removal.WEI TaiBao DANG JianPeng LIN Qi YAO Hong LIU Yong ZHANG WanQiang MING JianJun ZHANG YouMing 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,12:3
9A novel cryogenic insulation system of hollow glass microspheres and self-evaporation vapor-cooled shield for liquid hydrogen storage显示文摘Liquid hydrogen(LH2)attracts widespread attention because of its highest energy storage density.However,evaporation loss is a serious problem in LH2 storage due to the low boiling point(20 K).Efficient insulation technology is an important issue in the study of LH2 storage.Hollow glass microspheres(HGMs)is a potential promising thermal insulation material because of its low apparent thermal conductivity,fast installation(Compared with multi-layer insulation,it can be injected in a short time.),and easy maintenance.A novel cryogenic insulation system consisting of HGMs and a selfevaporating vapor-cooled shield(VCS)is proposed for storage of LH2.A thermodynamic model has been established to analyze the coupled heat transfer characteristics of HGMs and VCS in the composite insulation system.The results show that the combination of HGMs and VCS can effectively reduce heat flux into the LH2 tank.With the increase of VCS number from 1 to 3,the minimum heat flux through HGMs decreases by 57.36%,65.29%,and 68.21%,respectively.Another significant advantage of HGMs is that their thermal insulation properties are not sensitive to ambient vacuum change.When ambient vacuum rises from 10^-3 Pa to 1 Pa,the heat flux into the LH2 tank increases by approximately 20%.When the vacuum rises from 10^-3 Pa to 100 Pa,the combination of VCS and HGMs reduces the heat flux into the tank by 58.08%-69.84% compared with pure HGMs.Jianpeng ZHENG Liubiao CHEN Ping WANG Jingjie ZHANG Junjie WANG Yuan ZHOU 2020Frontiers in Energy2020,14,3:3

11Tissue Expression and Stock Variation of Isozymes of Stone Flounder(Kareius bicoloratus)显示文摘Tissue expression and stock variation of isozymes of stone flounder (Kareius bicoloratus) were analyzed with horizontal starch gel electrophoresis. For the fourteen enzymes assayed, 31 loci were recorded. The results indicated that all the isozymes ex- amined were obviously tissue-specific. The expressions of SOD*, GDH*, G3PDH-2* and ADH-2* were detected only in liver, SDH-1*, MDH-1* and ADH-1* only in muscle, and LDH-B* and LDH-C* only in eyes. In comparison, MDH-2*, GPI-3* and SDH-2* were detected in all tissues examined. Other loci examined were detected in a variety of tissues. Muscle and liver were se- lected to detect the isozyme variation of the two geographic stocks of Qingdao and Weihai, Shandong Province, China. The percent- ages of polymorphic loci (P0.99) were 29.17% and 25.00%, the observed heterozygosities (H0) were 0.028 ± 0.014 and 0.040 ± 0.019, and the expected heterozygosities (He) were 0.039 ± 0.017 and 0.052 ± 0.022 in Qingdao and Weihai stock, respectively. The coeffi- cient of gene differentiation (Fst) and genetic distance (D) between the two stocks was 0.012 and 0.0011, respectively, indicating that the genetic differentiation is low between them. 12Comparing the diurnal variations in the SuperMAG auroral electrojet indices SML and SMU显示文摘Diurnal variations of the SuperMAG auroral electrojet indices(SML and SMU)were examined for the period of 1980–2010,and the differences between SML and SMU were especially analyzed.The diurnal variation of SML with a maximum at around 1100 UT has a prenoonpostnoon asymmetry.At solstices,the diurnal variation of SML is much stronger than that at equinoxes.For the SMU,two maxima are recorded in the diurnal variation with the bigger one at 1700 UT and the smaller one at 0400 UT.The seasonal variations are not obvious in the UT variation characteristics of SMU although the intensity of SMU is changed remarkably season by season.For both SML and SMU,the contributing stations are located at higher geomagnetic latitude around 1600 UT and at lower geomagnetic latitude around 0400 UT.These results indicate that:(1)the SML is mostly controlled by the convection electric field.Its diurnal variation is mainly correlated with the equinoctial and R-M hypothesis;(2)the SMU is largely controlled by the ionospheric conductance.Its diurnal variation is tightly correlated with the solar radiation.Yuan Wang Aimin Du Gengxiong Chen Xin Cao Ying Zhang Min Li Xiaocan Liu Jianpeng Guo 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,29:2
13Development of the novel ACLY inhibitor 326E as a promising treatment for hypercholesterolemia显示文摘Hepatic cholesterol accumulation is an important contributor to hypercholesterolemia,which results in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease(CVD).ATP-citrate lyase(ACLY)is a key lipogenic enzyme that converts cytosolic citrate derived from tricarboxylic acid cycle(TCA cycle)to acetyl-CoA in the cytoplasm.Therefore,ACLY represents a link between mitochondria oxidative phosphorylation and cytosolic de novo lipogenesis.In this study,we developed the small molecule 326E with an enedioic acid structural moiety as a novel ACLY inhibitor,and its CoA-conjugated form 326E-CoA inhibited ACLY activity with an IC_(50)=5.31±1.2μmol/L in vitro.326E treatment reduced de novo lipogenesis,and increased cholesterol efflux in vitro and in vivo.326E was rapidly absorbed after oral administration,exhibited a higher blood exposure than that of the approved ACLY inhibitor bempedoic acid(BA)used for hypercholesterolemia.Chronic 326E treatment in hamsters and rhesus monkeys resulted in remarkable improvement of hyperlipidemia.Once daily oral administration of 326E for 24 weeks prevented the occurrence of atherosclerosis in ApoE^(-/-)mice to a greater extent than that of BA treatment.Taken together,our data suggest that inhibition of ACLY by 326E represents a promising strategy for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia.Zhifu Xie Mei Zhang Qian Song Long Cheng Xinwen Zhang Gaolei Song Xinyu Sun Min Gu Chendong Zhou Yangming Zhang Kexin Zhu Jianpeng Yin Xiaoyan Chen Jingya Li Fajun Nan 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,2:1

19Flexible and breathable 3D porous SSE/MXene foam towards impact/electromagnetic interference/bacteria multiple protection performance for intelligent wearable devices显示文摘As intelligent wearable devices,they will inevitably be subjected to various damages and disturbances from the external environment during daily use.Therefore,it is urgent to develop safeguarding materials with multiple protective properties.Herein,this work developed a flexible and breathable three-dimensional(3D)porous shear stiffening elastomer(SSE)/MXene(M-SSE)foam with impact/electromagnetic interference(EMI)/bacteria multiple protection performance for intelligent wearable devices.The continuous conductive MXene network in the 3D SSE porous structure made M-SSE foam exhibit excellent electromagnetic interference shielding property with a high shielding effectiveness of 34 dB.Attributed to the shear stiffening effect of porous SSE matrix,M-SSE foam possessed unique anti-impact and protection properties.The energy dissipation rate reached up to more than 85%,illustrating M-SSE foam could effectively attenuate the external impact force and absorb the impact energy.Inherited from the excellent photothermal performance of MXene,M-SSE foam achieved a considerable saturated temperature of 98℃ under 0.57 W/cm^(2) laser power.Therefore,M-SSE foam showed extraordinary antimicrobial property for Staphylococcus aureus according to the principle of photothermal sterilization.Finally,for the development of intelligent wearable devices,conductive MSSE foam could be used as an intelligent sensor to monitor various human movements owing to the highly sensitive property.This work greatly expanded the application prospect of multifunctional protective materials in various complex environments and promoted the development of multifunctional smart wearable devices in protection field.Min Sang Shuai Liu Jianpeng Wu Xinyi Wang Junshuo Zhang Yunqi Xu Yu Wang Jun Li Ji Li Shouhu Xuan Xinglong Gong 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:1
