| 2 | Chemical equilibrium controlled synthesis of polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers over sulfated titania显示文摘The chemical equilibrium and reaction kinetic behavior in the synthesis of polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers(DMMn) were investigated over sulfated titania in order to reveal the decisive factor controlling the reaction. The results showed that the molar ratio of adjacent DMMn products in equilibrium solution had the same value, which depended absolutely on the reaction temperature. Meanwhile, the reactions had the same DMMn products distributions under varied reaction conditions. The equilibrium constants of the related step-wise reactions for DMMn formation were equal, which were calculated based on the bulk compositions of the reaction solution. And thus, the selectivity to DMMn was mainly controlled by the chemical equilibrium, i.e., thermodynamic control. | 3 | IL-10-producing regulatory B cells restrain the T follicular helper cell response in primary Sjögren’s syndrome显示文摘Increased numbers of T follicular helper(Tfh)cells have been implicated in the development of autoimmune diseases including primary Sjögren’s syndrome(pSS),but how the Tfh cell response is regulated during autoimmune pathogenesis remains largely unclear.Here,we first found negative correlations between IL-10^(+)regulatory B(Breg)cell numbers and Tfh cell responses and disease activity in patients with pSS and mice with experimental Sjögren’s syndrome(ESS).Moreover,we detected high expression of IL-10 receptor on Tfh cells and their precursors in both humans and mice.In culture,IL-10 suppressed human and murine Tfh cell differentiation by promoting STAT5 phosphorylation.By using an adoptive transfer approach and two-photon live imaging,we found significantly increased numbers of Tfh cells with enhanced T cell homing into B cell follicles in the draining cervical lymph nodes of RAG-2−/−mice transferred with IL-10-deficient B cells during ESS development compared with those of RAG-2−/−mice transferred with wild-type B cells.In ESS mice,CD19^(+)CD1d^(hi)CD5^(+)Breg cells with decreased IL-10 production exhibited severely impaired suppressive effects on T cell proliferation.Consistently,CD19^(+)CD24^(+)CD38^(hi) Breg cells from pSS patients showed significantly reduced IL-10 production with defective inhibitory function in the suppression of autologous Tfh cell expansion.Furthermore,the adoptive transfer of IL-10-producing Breg cells markedly suppressed the Tfh cell response and ameliorated ESS progression in ESS mice.Together,these findings demonstrate a critical role for IL-10-producing Breg cells in restraining the effector Tfh cell response during pSS development. | Xiang Lin Xiaohui Wang Fan Xiao Kongyang Ma Lixiong Liu Xiaoqi Wang Dong Xu Fei Wang Xiaofei Shi Dongzhou Liu Yan Zhao Liwei Lu | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,12: | 13 |
| 4 | Regulation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 influences hippocampal neuronal survival in a rat model of diabetic cerebral ischemia显示文摘Activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 has been demonstrated in acute brain ischemia. We hypothesized that activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 can protect hippocampal neurons from injury in a diabetic model after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. In this study, transient whole-brain ischemia was induced by four-vessel occlusion in normal and diabetic rats, and extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 inhibitor(U0126) was administered into diabetic rats 30 minutes before ischemia as a pretreatment. Results showed that the number of surviving neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region was reduced, extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 phosphorylation and Ku70 activity were decreased, and pro-apoptotic Bax expression was upregulated after intervention using U0126. These findings demonstrate that inhibition of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 activity aggravated neuronal loss in the hippocampus in a diabetic rat after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion, further decreased DNA repairing ability and accelerated apoptosis in hippocampal neurons. In the peripheral lymphoid system, mature B cells are activated by self or/and foreign antigens andsignals from helper T cells for differentiating into either memory B cells or antibody-producing plasma cells.Accumulating evidence has shown that epigenetic regulations modulate somatic hypermutation and class switchDNA recombination during B-cell activation and differentiation. Any abnormalities in these complex regulatoryprocesses may contribute to aberrant antibody production, resulting in autoimmune pathogenesis such as systemiclupus erythematosus. Newly generated knowledge from advanced modern technologies such as next-generationsequencing, single-cell sequencing and DNA methylation sequencing has enabled us to better understand B-cellbiology and its role in autoimmune development. | 7 | Effects of Brassinosteroid Associated with Auxin and Gibberellin on Apple Tree Growth and Gene Expression Patterns显示文摘Brassinosteroid is an important hormone that interacts with auxin and gibberellin to regulate plant growth and development. However,there is currently a relative lack of information regarding brassinosteroid in apple. Previous study confirmed that exogenous brassinosteroid treatments increased growth and endogenous brassinosteroid, auxin, as well as gibberellin levels of apple nursery trees. Here we succeeded to find that exogenous brassinosteroid treatments upregulated the transcript expression of auxin biosynthesis, transport, and positive signal transduction genes as well as gibberellin biosynthesis genes. In contrast, the application of exogenous brassinosteroid downregulated the expression of genes encoding negative regulators of auxin and gibberellin signal transductions. Rapid responses of several brassinosteroid-,auxin-, and gibberellin-related genes to the brassinosteroid and brassinazole treatments inferred the crosstalk of BR and IAA or GA. Furthermore,the expression levels of cell growth-related genes were also enhanced by exogenous brassinosteroid. Auxin and gibberellin treatments also influenced growth of apple tree and enhanced the expression of brassinosteroid-and cell growth-related genes. These results indicate that the growth of apple tree is regulated by the interaction between brassinosteroid, auxin, and gibberellin. | 10 | Cytotoxicity of lambda-cyhalothrin on the macrophage cell line RAW 264.7显示文摘The wide use and wide-spectrum toxicity of synthetic pyrethroids (SPs) insecticides make them an emerging ecotoxicological concern. Some previous studies showed that SPs possessed cytotoxicity in some immune cells such as human lymphocytes and rat bone marrow. However, the cytotoxicity of SPs to macrophages, which are crucial to innate immunity, has not been explored. In the present report, we investigated a new pyrethroid insecticide, lambda-cyhalothrin (LCT), which may increase the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and DNA damage levels and cause cytotoxicity in RAW 264.7 cells in dose- and time-dependent manners. The results for the first time implicated increased endogenous ROS and DNA damage as co-mediators of LCT-induced cytotoxicity in macrophages. Our results also suggested that macrophages were involved in synthetic pyrethroid-induced adverse immune effects. Considering the ubiquitous environmental presence of SPs, this study provided new information relative to the potential long-term physiological and immunological effects associated with chronic exposure to SPs. | 12 | The integration of transcriptomic and transgenic analyses reveals the involvement of the SA response pathway in the defense of chrysanthemum against the necrotrophic fungus Alternaria sp.显示文摘Chrysanthemum morifolium cv.‘Huaihuang’has ornamental,edible,medicinal,and tea product uses.However,its field growth,yield,and quality are negatively affected by black spot disease caused by Alternaria sp.(Strain:HQJH10092301;GenBank accession number:KF688111).In this study,we transcriptionally and transgenically characterized a new cultivar,‘Huaiju 2#’(Henan Traditional Chinese Medicine Plant Cultivar identification number:2016002),which was bred from‘Huaihuang’and shows resistance to Alternaria sp.Numerous‘Huaiju 2#’plants were inoculated with Alternaria sp.for three or five days.Metabolic analysis showed increases in both salicylic acid(SA)and jasmonic acid(JA)in infected plants compared to the control.Protein activity analysis also revealed a significant increase in defense enzyme activities in infected plants.RNA-Seq of plants infected for 3 or 5 days produced a total of 58.6 GB of clean reads.Among these reads,16,550 and 13,559 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified in Cm_3 dpi(sample from 3 days post-inoculation labeled as Cm_3 dpi)and Cm_5 dpi(sample from 5 days post-inoculation labeled as Cm_5 dpi),respectively,compared with their controls(Cm_0 d:a mixture samples from 0 d(before inoculation)and those treated with sterile distilled water at 3 dpi and 5 dpi).Gene annotation and cluster analysis of the DEGs revealed a variety of defense responses to Alternaria sp.infection,which were characterized by increases in resistance(R)proteins and the reactive oxygen species(ROS),Ca2+,mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),and JA signaling pathways.In particular,SA signaling was highly responsive to Alternaria sp.infection.The qPCR analysis of 12 DEG candidates supported their differential expression characterized by using the RNA-Seq data.One candidate was CmNPR1(nonexpressor of pathogenesis-related gene 1),an important positive regulator of SA in systemic acquired resistance(SAR).Overexpression of CmNPR1 in‘Huaiju 2#’increased the resistance of transgenic plants to black spot.These findings indicate that the SA response pathway is likely involved in the defense of‘Huaiju 2#’against Alternaria sp.pathogens. | Xiting Zhao Lingyu Song Liwei Jiang Yuting Zhu Qinghui Gao Dandan Wang Jing Xie Meng Lv Ping Liu Mingjun Li | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 3 |
| 13 | Synthesis,characterization and cell imaging properties of rare earth compounds based on hydroxamate ligand显示文摘Six binuclear rare earth compounds were synthesized through the ligand of 4-Bromo-N-hydroxy-Nmethyl-benzamide(sH_2 bha). Compounds 1-3 are isomorphous, and compound 1 is crystallized in the monoclinic system with the P2_1/c space group. Compounds 4 and 5 are isomorphous, and compound 4 is crystallized in the triclinic system with the P-1 space group. Compound 6 is crystallized in the triclinic system with the P-1 space group. The compounds were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and IR spectroscopy. The fluorescence spectrum in the visible area shows characteristic peaks of Eu, Tb, and Dy compounds. The efficiency of Eu compound on the viability of PC3 cells was assessed using CCK8 assays. From the CCK8 results, ionic concentration may have a great effect on PC3 cells' proliferation. Eu compound shows red fluorescence in the cytoplasm of PC3 cell. | 14 | A polyimide cathode with superior stability and rate capability for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Organic-based electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are promising due to their high theoretical capacity,structure versatility and environmental benignity.However,the poor intrinsic electric conductivity of most polymers results in slow reaction kinetics and hinders their application as electrode materials for LIBs.A binder-free self-supporting organic electrode with excellent redox kinetics is herein demonstrated via in situ polymerization of a uniform thin polyimide (PI) layer on a porous and highly conductive carbonized nanofiber (CNF) framework.The PI active material in the porous PI@CNF film has large physical contact area with both the CNF and the electrolyte thus obtains superior electronic and ionic conduction.As a result,the PI@CNF cathode exhibits a discharge capacity of 170 mAh·g^-1 at 1 C (175 mA·g^-1),remarkable rate-performance (70.5% of 0.5 C capacity can be obtained at a 100 C discharge rate),and superior cycling stability with 81.3% capacity retention after 1,000 cycles at 1 C.Last but not least,a four-electron transfer redox process of the PI polymer was realized for the first time thanks to the excellent redox kinetics of the PI@CNF electrode,showing a discharge capacity exceeding 300 mAh·g^-1 at a current of 175 mA·g^-1. | Jianghui Zhao Tuo Kang Yanli Chu Peng Chen Feng Jin Yanbin Shen Liwei Chen | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,6: | 3 |

| 16 | Stability,Thermal Conductivity and Photothermal Conversion Performance of Water-Based ZnO Nanofluids显示文摘Water-based ZnO nanofluids were prepared via the two-step method,and the influences of dispersant type and mass fraction on the stability and particle size distribution of the nanofluids were investigated.The spectral transmittances of the nanofluids were obtained by a UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer.Thermal conductivities of the nanofluids with various mass fractions were measured at different temperatures and a fitted nonlinear correlated equation was established for low-concentration application and compared with existing models.The photothermal conversion performance of the nanofluids was evaluated by theoretical and experimental methods at three optical depths.The results showed that,CTAB as the dispersant provides better physical stability of water-based ZnO nanofluids than SDBS or GA does.Effect of the temperature on the nanofluid thermal conductivity is remarkable with the increase of nanoparticle mass fraction,especially in the range 55°C to 75°C.The maximum thermal conductivity of the studied nanofluids is 0.9488 W/(m·℃)at 75°C,43.61%higher than that of water.The minimum thermal conductivity of the studied nanofluids is 0.6376 W/(m·℃)at 25°C,5.16%higher than that of water.The photothermal conversion performance of the nanofluids is quite good with a maximum average absorption efficiency of 0.47,135%higher than that of water(η=0.2),and the maximum SAR is 527.5 W/g. | HAN Xiaofei LU Liwei YAN Suying YANG Xiaohong TIAN Rui ZHAO Xiaoyan | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,5: | 3 |

| 18 | Ecophysiological responses of two closely related Magnoliaceae genera to seasonal changes in subtropical China显示文摘Aims Plants use a variety of hydraulic strategies to adapt to seasonal drought that differ by species and environmental conditions.The early-diverging Magnoliaceae family includes two closely related genera with contrasting leaf habits,Yulania(deciduous)and Michelia(evergreen),which naturally inhabit temperate and tropi-cal regions,respectively.Here,we evaluate the hydraulic strategy of species from both genera that have been ex situ conserved in a subtropical region to determine how they respond to the novel cool-dry season climatic pattern.Methods We measured ecophysiological traits in five Michelia and five Yulania species conserved in the South China Botanical Garden in both wet and dry season conditions and monitored the whole-year sap flow for four of these species.Important Findings We found that Magnoliaceae species that have been ex situ con-served in a subtropical climate did not suffer from excessive water stress due to the mild drought conditions of the dry season and the ecophysiological adjustments the species made to avoid this stress,which differed by leaf habit.Specifically,deciduous species com-pletely shed their leaves during the dry season,while evergreen species decreased their turgor loss points,dry mass based photo-synthetic rates,stomatal conductance and specific leaf areas(SLAs)compared to wet season measurements.In comparing the two dis-tinct leaf habits during the wet season,the leathery-leaved evergreen species had higher leaf hydraulic conductance and leaf to sapwood area ratios than the papery-leaved deciduous species,while the deciduous species had greater hydraulic conductivity calculated on both a stem and leaf area basis,dry mass based photosynthetic rates,leaf nutrients,SLAs and stomatal sizes than the evergreen species.Interestingly,species from both genera maintained similar sap flow in the wet season.Both photosynthetically active radia-tion and vapour pressure deficit affected the diurnal patterns of sap flow in the wet season,while only vapour pressure deficit played a dominant role in the dry season.This study reveals contrasting hydraulic strategies in Yulania and Michelia species under subtropi-cal seasonal conditions,and suggests that these ecophysiological adjustments might be affected more by leaf habit than seasonality,thus reflecting the divergent evolution of the two closely related genera.Furthermore,we show that Magnoliaceae species that are ex situ conserved in a subtropical climate are hydraulically sound,a finding that will inform future conservation efforts of this ancient family under the threat of climatic change. | Hui Liu Liwei Zhu Qiuyuan Xu Marjorie R.Lundgren Keming Yang Ping Zhao Qing Ye | 2018 | Journal of Plant Ecology2018,11,3: | 2 |
| 19 | Carbon coated ultrasmall anatase TiO_2 nanocrystal anchored on N,S-RGO as high-performance anode for sodium ion batteries显示文摘Anatase TiO_2 has been investigated as one of the most promising anode materials for sodium ion batteries(SIBs)with low cost and high theoretical capacity.Herein,a composite material of TiO_2 /N,S-RGO@C with carbon coated ultrasmall anatase TiO_2 anchored on nitrogen and sulfur co-doped RGO matrix was successfully prepared by a rational designed process.The composite structure exhibited ultrasmall crystal size,rich porous structure,homogeneous heteroatoms doping and thin carbon coating,which synergistically resulted in elevated electron and ion transfer.The anode exhibited high rate capacities with good reversibility under high rate cycling.The carbon coating was investigated to be effective to prevent active material falling and lead to long term cycling performance with a high capacity retention of 181 m Ah g^(à1)after 2000cycles at 2 C.Kinetic studies were carried out and the results revealed that the superior performance of the composite material were derived from the decreased charge transfer resistance and elevated ion diffusion.Results suggested that the TiO_2 /N,S-RGO@C composite is a promising anode material for sodium ion batteries. | Lingfei Zhao Tong Tang Weihua Chen Xiangming Feng Liwei Mi | 2018 | Green Energy & Environment2018,3,3: | 2 |
