1Novel roll effector based on zero-mass-flux dual synthetic jets and its flight test显示文摘The autonomous and controllable Dual Synthetic Jet Actuator(DSJA)is firstly integrated into the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV),and flight tests without the deflection of rudders are carried out to verify the viability of DSJA to control the attitudes of UAV during cruising.DSJA is improved into an actuator with two diaphragms and three cavities,which has higher energy levels.Actuators,differentially distributed on both sides of the wings,are installed on the trailing edge close to the wing tips.Flight tests,containing Differential Circulation Control(DCC)using double-side actuators,Positive Circulation Control(PCC)using left-side actuators and Negative Circulation Control(NCC)using right-side actuators,are implemented at cruising speed of 25 m/s.Results show that roll attitude control without rudders could be realized by DSJAs.DCC and NCC can generate the rightward roll and yaw angular velocity,prompting UAV to turn right.The stronger controlling ability can be achieved by DCC,with the maximum roll angular velocity of 15.62(°)/s.PCC can generate a rightward roll moment,but a leftward yaw moment will be produced at the same time.Leftward yaw induces the leftward rolling moment,which weakens the roll control effect,making UAV keep to yaw to the left with a small slope.Zhenbing LUO Zhijie ZHAO Jiefu LIU Xiong DENG Mu ZHENG Hang YANG Qingyang CHEN Shiqing LI 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,8:7
2Development of a novel cycling impact–sliding wear rig to investigate the complex friction motion显示文摘In many industrial devices, impact-sliding wear is caused by a variety of complex vibrations between the contacted interfaces. Under actual conditions, impact and sliding motions do not occur in only one direction, and different complex impact-sliding motions exist on the tribology surfaces. In this study, an impact-sliding wear test rig is developed to investigate the wear effect of different complex motions. Using this rig, multi-type impact-sliding wear effects are realized and measured, such as those derived from unidirectional, reciprocating, and multi-mode combination motions. 5Transcatheter arterial embolization-salvaged ALPPS, a novel ALPPS procedure especially for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and severe fibrosis/cirrhosis显示文摘Background:The associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy(ALPPS)for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with fibrosis/cirrhosis is often associated with limited growth of future liver remnant(FLR).We introduced a new procedure named transcatheter arterial embolization-salvaged ALPPS(TAE-salvaged ALPPS)which was shown to be especially suitable for HCC patients with cirrhosis or fibrosis who failed adequately to respond to conventional ALPPS.The short-term efficacy and safety for the TAE-salvaged ALPPS on patients with HCC and fibrosis/cirrhosis were studied.Methods:Consecutive HCC patients who underwent TAE-salvaged ALPPS in our hospital between November 2016 and June 2020 were retrospectively studied.The new ALPPS procedure included conventional ALPPS stage-1 using associating liver partition and portal vein ligation.When FLR failed to reach sufficient hypertrophy,TAE was carried out 2 weeks later followed by liver resection 3 weeks after ALPPS stage-1.Results:Nine of 10 patients had a single tumor(median diameter 14.0 cm,range,5.2-17 cm).The remaining patient had multiple tumors(diameter of one tumor 14.0 cm,and two satellite foci 2.0 and 3.0 cm).R0 resection was achieved in all patients(100%)after a median of 21 days.Six patients had cirrhosis,1 had METAVIR grade-3 fibrosis,and 3 had METAVIR grade-2 fibrosis.The median increase in FLR volume after TAE-salvaged ALPPS was 69.7%(34.4-143.9%).The absolute and relative kinetic growth rates(KGRs)were 9.9(7.1-17.3)mL/day and 3.4%(1.9-7.2%)/day,respectively.The median absolute KGRs were 15.7,2.6,and 19.5 mL/day in the first,second,and third postoperative weeks after ALPPS stage-1,respectively.The rapid increase in KGR on the third week was induced by TAE.The overall postoperative morbidity rates were 50,0%(5/10),20.0%(2/10)and 70.0%(7/10)after ALPPS stage-1,TAE and ALPPS stage-2,respectively.The 90-day mortality rate was 10.0%(1/10).The median overall survival was 40 months.Conclusions:The new TAE-salvaged ALPPS induced significant increases in FLR volumes within 3 weeks in patients with HCC and fibrosis/cirrhosis.The procedure is promising in treating patients with HCC and fibrosis/cirrhosis who fail to achieve sufficient FLR hypertrophy after conventional ALPPS stage-1.Yuanfei Peng Zheng Wang Xudong Qu Feiyu Chen Huichuan Sun Xiaoying Wang Zhenbing Ding Min Tang Lei Yu Xinrong Yang Qiang Gao Zhaoyou Tang Wan Yee Lau Jia Fan Jian Zhou 2022Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2022,11,4:1
6Observation of electron weak localization and correlation effects in disordered graphene显示文摘We have studied the electron transport properties of a disordered graphene sample, where the disorder was intentionally strengthened by Ga+ ion irradiation. The magneto-conductance of the sample exhibits a typical two-dimensional electron weak localization behavior, with electron-electron interaction as the dominant dephasing mechanism. The absence of electron anti-weak localization in the sample implies strong intersublattice and/or intervalley scattering caused by the disorders. 7Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy for colorectal liver metastasis:a single-center experience显示文摘Background:Associated liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy(ALPPS)is increasingly used for the treatment of primarily unresectable colorectal liver metastases(CRLM)because of the insufficient future liver remnant(FLR).The aim of this study was to share our experience with ALPPS for advanced CRLM and review the role of ALPPS in the management of patients with CRLM.Methods:Consecutive patients(n=10)with CRLM who underwent ALPPS at our center between December 2014 and October 2021 were retrospectively studied.Results:The median age of patients was 58 years(range 49–70 years).Five patients had metachronous CRLM and the other 5 patients had synchronous CRLM.Five patients had unilateral CRLM and the other 5 patients had bilateral CRLM.All patients previously underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy.The FLR volume increased by 45.3%(35.8%–61.6%)over 14 days(range 7–21 days).The absolute and relative kinetic growth rates were 17.9 mL/day(range 7.5–32.1 mL/day)and 4.6%/day(range 2.3%–8.8%/day),respectively.Overall morbidity rates were 20%(2/10)and 40%(4/10)after ALPPS stage 1 and stage 2,respectively.The 30-day and 90-day mortality rates were 0%and 10%,respectively.R0 resection was achieved for all patients,and the median disease-free survival was 18.7 months.Conclusions:ALPPS is an effective treatment option for advanced CRLM.It enables rapid hypertrophy of the FLR and achieves a high R0 resection rate with an acceptable oncological outcome.However,ALPPS should be reserved for selected patients because of its relatively high morbidity and mortality.Yuanfei Peng Feiyu Chen Zheng Wang Xiaoying Wang Yinghong Shi Zhenbing Ding Yongsheng Xiao Kang Song Lei Yu Jie Hu Min Tang Zhaoyou Tang Jia Fan Jian Zhou 2022iLIVER2022,1,1:0
8Schwann cells originating from skin-derived precursors promote peripheral nerve regeneration in rats显示文摘Artificial guidance channels containing Schwann cells can promote the regeneration of injured peripheral nerve over long distances. However, primary Schwann cells are not suitable for autotransplantation. Under specific conditions, skin-derived progenitors can be induced to differentiate into Schwann cells. Therefore, adult rat dorsal skin(dermis)-derived progenitors were isolated and induced to differentiate with DMEM/F12 containing B27, neuregulin 1, and forskolin. Immunofluorescence staining and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RTPCR) confirmed that the resultant cells were indeed Schwann cells. Artificial guidance channels containing skin-derived progenitors, Schwann cells originating from skin-derived progenitors, or primary Schwann cells were used to bridge 5 mm sciatic nerve defects. Schwann cells originating from skin-derived progenitors significantly promoted sciatic nerve axonal regeneration. The significant recovery of injured rat sciatic nerve function after the transplantation of Schwann cells originating from skin-derived progenitors was confirmed by electromyogram. The therapeutic effect of Schwann cells originating from skin-derived progenitors was better than that of skin-derived progenitors. 9Monitoring the delicate operations of surgical robots via ultra-sensitive ionic electronic skin显示文摘The arrival of surgical robots in high-end medical equipment is a landmark,and the realization of tactile sensation a major challenge in this important cutting-edge research field.Aiming to address this issue,we present ultra-sensitive ionic electronic skin in the form of flexible capacitive pressure sensors,which incorporate multistage bionic microstructures in ion gels for the purpose of monitoring the delicate operations of surgical robots.Significantly,the ionic skin exhibits an ultra-high sensitivity of 9484.3 kPa^(-1)(<15 kPa),and the sensitivity remains higher than 235 kPa^(-1)in the wide range of 15-155 kPa.The device has also achieved a detection limit as low as 0.12 Pa or,equivalently,0.31 mg,fast response within 24 ms,and high robustness(loading/unloading for 5000 cycles without fatigue).The sensor facilitates the challenging task of tele-operated robotic threading,which exceeds the human tactile perception limit when threading a needle.We have also confirmed that ionic skin can be used in robot-assisted invasive surgery,such as incision/resection of tissues and suturing of wounds,providing tactile information to surgeons to improve operation success rates.The flexible ionic skin is capable of conforming to the various shapes of robotic manipulators,thus has great promise for applications in robotic dexterous manipulation,prosthetics and human-machine interfaces.Danyang Wei Jiajie Guo Yuqi Qiu Shaoyu Liu Jiangyan Mao Yutian Liu Zhenbing Chen Hao Wu Zhouping Yin 2022National Science Review2022,9,12:0
10Integrated Stratigraphy and Mineralogy of the Doushantuo Formation in Weng’an,South China,and Implications for Ediacaran Phosphogenesis显示文摘The Ediacaran–Cambrian Phosphogenic Episode is the Earth’s first true phosphogenic event and resulted in worldwide phosphate deposits,which occurred during the processes of the Neoproterozoic Oxygenation Event.The Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation(ca.635–551 Ma)of Weng’an area in central Guizhou,South China,contains two economic phosphorite beds(the Lower and Upper Phosphorite Beds).This paper presents a detailed stratigraphic,sedimentological and mineralogical study of multiple outcrop and drill core sections of the Doushantuo Formation across the Weng’an area,and identified 11 lithofacies and 4 types of phosphatic grains.Significant differences in lithofacies and grain types between the upper and lower phosphate deposits are observed,indicating that the two sets of phosphate deposits are the products of two distinct phosphogenic processes.The Lower Phosphorite Bed mainly consists of banded and laminated phosphorites,contains micro-oncoids formed by microbially-mediated precipitation and peloids formed by in-situ chemically oscillating reactions,indicating a biochemical and chemical enrichment of phosphorus to sediments during the Early Ediacaran Period.The Upper Phosphorite Bed is mainly composed of carbonaceous,massive,and stromatolitic phosphorites,contains bioclasts(phosphatized spheroidal fossils),and intraclasts formed by hydrodynamic agitation,suggesting that the major accesses of phosphorus to sediments were the remineralization of organic P.Deposition of the two economic phosphorite beds was controlled by two sea-level cycles.Such differences have also been documented in contemporaneous phosphate-bearing successions in Brazil and Mangolia,indicating a significant shift in global phosphogenic mechanism during the early and middle Ediacaran,which may be due to the changes in redox conditions in seawater,associated with the Neoproterozoic Oxygenation Event.These regional active P-cycle processes could produce more free oxygen,which may have contributed to the upcoming Phanerozoic global oxidation.Liangxuan Jiao Zhenbing She Dominic Papineau Yaguan Zhang Matthew S.Dodd Kenan Cao Qun Chen Guoyong Chen 2024Journal of Earth Science2024,35,2:0
