| 1 | Identification and characterization of rice blast resistance gene Pid4 by a combination of transcriptomic profiling and genome analysis显示文摘Map-based cloning of plant disease resistance (R) genes is time-consuming. Here, we reported the isolation of blast R gene Pid4 using comparative transcriptomic profiling and genome-wide sequence analysis. Pid4 encodes a coiled-coil nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat(CC-NBS-LRR) protein and is constitutively expressed at diverse developmental stages in the rice variety Digu. The Pid4 protein is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Introduction of Pid4 into susceptible rice cultivars confers race-specific resistance to leaf and neck blast. Amino acid sequence comparison and blast resistance spectrum tests showed that Pid4 is a novel R gene, different from the previously reported R genes located in the same gene cluster. A Pid4 Indel marker was developed to facilitate the identification of Pid4 in different rice varieties. | 2 | Liquid crystal integrated metalens with tunable chromatic aberration显示文摘Overcoming chromatic aberrations is a vital concern in imaging systems in order to facilitate fullcolor and hyperspectral imaging.By contrast,large dispersion holds opportunities for spectroscopy and tomography.Combining both functions into a single component will significantly enhance its versatility.A strategy is proposed to delicately integrate two lenses with a static resonant phase and a switchable geometric phase separately.The former is a metasurface lens with a linear phase dispersion.The latter is composed of liquid crystals(LCs)with space-variant orientations with a phase profile that is frequency independent.By this means,a broadband achromatic focusing from 0.9 to 1.4 THz is revealed.When a saturated bias is applied on LCs,the geometric phase modulation vanishes,leaving only the resonant phase of the metalens.Correspondingly,the device changes from achromatic to dispersive.Furthermore,a metadeflector with tunable dispersion is demonstrated to verify the universality of the proposed method.Our work may pave a way toward active metaoptics,promoting various imaging applications. | Zhixiong Shen Shenghang Zhou Xinan Li Shijun Ge Peng Chen Wei Hu Yanqing Lu | 2020 | Advanced Photonics2020,2,3: | 7 |
| 3 | Rupture process of the Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake of Sichuan, China: the segmentation feature显示文摘Moment tensor solution, rupture process and rupture characteristics of the great Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake are studied by using 39 long-period P and SH waveforms with evenly azimuth coverage of stations. Our results reveal that the Wenchuan M8.0 event consisted of 5 sub-events of Mw≥7.3 occurring succesively in time and space. Rupture started with a Mw7.3 introductory strike-slip faulting in the first 12 s, then within 12?40 s, two sub-events with Mw7.6 and Mw7.4 occurred within 80 km northeast from the initial point with the dominant rupture type of thrust moving. From 40 to 62 s, a Mw7.5 and Mw7.4 right-lateral strike-slip type of sub-events occurred on the two sides of Beichuan, 120 km away northeast from the initial point. The whole rupture process lasted 105 s and unilaterally propagated from the initial point on the WS section of the Yingxiu-Beichuan fault to the NE direction, resulting in a 230-km-long surface rupture zone and the average surface dislocation is up to 4 m. Two asperities are identified and the whole rupture process is formed by WS and NE parts. In the WS part named Dujiangyang-Wenchuan, where the initial point is located, the rupture process showed reverse faulting with the maximum slip of 8.2 m. Around Mianzhu, rupture changed to right-lateral strike slip faulting and formed a Beichuan-Qingchuan large slip area. The rupture area on this part is about 10 km in depth, shallower than on the WS part. The maximum slip is 6.53 m. Consequently, there formed 2 segments with the surface dislocation larger than 6 m. One is the Dujiangyan-Wenchuan segment with the maximum surface displacement of 6.44 m, the other is the Beichuan-Qingchuan segment with the maximum surface displacement of 6.53 m. | 4 | Enhanced photocatalytic degradation of organic contaminants over CaFe_(2)O_(4) under visible LED light irradiation mediated by peroxymonosulfate显示文摘A simple sol-gel approach is proposed herein to fabricate CaFe_(2)O_(4)for the degradation of various organic pollutants(rhodamine B(RhB),tetracycline hydrochloride,humic acid,and methylene orange)under LED light irradiation mediated by peroxymonosulfate(PMS).The results indicate that the calcination temperature can significantly influence the performance of CaFe_(2)O_(4)for PMS activation,and the CaFe_(2)O_(4)sample obtained at 800℃(CaFe_(2)O_(4)-800)exhibits the best efficiency in degrading RhB,which is much higher than that of Fe_2o_(3)-800.This can be attributed to the efficient separation of photogenerated electrons(e^(-))and holes(h^(+))by PMS,which is validated by transient photocurrent response and photoluminescence measurements.Results from density functio nal theo ry calculations indicate that the valence band of CaFe_(2)O_(4)-800 exhibits a high concentration of carriers and weak localization of electrons,which are favorable for PMS activation.Radical scavenging results confirm that h^(+)and O_(2)^(·-)are the dominant reactive species.Moreover,CaFe_(2)O_(4)-800 not only demonstrated a stable performance during eight cycling runs with negligible iron leaching but also exhibited excellent degradation efficiency under natural water and sunlight.Finally,the mechanism and pathway of RhB degradation by the CaFe_(2)O_(4)-800/PMS/LED system are also proposed.This work presents the enormous prospect of CaFe_(2)O_(4)as an environmentally benign photocatalyst for PMS activation. | Sheng Guo Zhixiong Yang Huali Zhang Wei Yang Jun Li Kun Zhou | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,3: | 3 |

Based on the principle of 'user friendly',it reasonably arranged spatial position of information management system according to spatial distribution of tractor cab. Then,it analyzed operation habits and thinking ways of drivers,and formulated design principle meeting demands of drivers. Besides,it used LabView software to design user interface,including interface layout and interface design. User interface includes basic information interface,job information interface,camera monitoring interface,and fault diagnosis interface. Finally,it made evaluation of the user interface from color,indicator lamp,dial,and pointer. | 6 | Maternal intake restriction programs the energy metabolism, clock circadian regulator and m TOR signals in the skeletal muscles of goat offspring probably via the protein kinase A-cAMP-responsive element-binding proteins pathway显示文摘The biological mechanism by which maternal undernutrition increases the metabolic disorder risk of skeletal muscles in offspring is not fully understood.We hypothesize that maternal intake restriction influences metabolic signals in the skeletal muscles of offspring via a glucagon-mediated pathway.Twentyfour pregnant goats were assigned to the control group(100%of the nutrients requirement,n=12)and restricted group(60%of the control feed allowance from pregnant days 45 to 100,n=12).Blood and Longissimus thoracis muscle were sampled from dams(100 d of gestation),fetuses(100 d of gestation),and kids(90 d after birth)in each group.The data were analyzed using the linear MIXED model,with the multiple comparison method of SIDAK applied.Intake restriction reduced(P<0.05)the total blood protein of dams and fetuses.Maternal restriction decreased(P<0.05)the cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 1(CREB1),CREB-binding protein(CREBBP),protein kinase A(PKA),aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1(BMAL1),protein kinase B(AKT1),mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR),and regulatory-associated protein of mTOR(RPTOR)mRNA expression in the fetuses,and reduced(P<0.05)the CREBBP,nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group H member 3(NR1 H3),D-box binding PAR bZIP transcription factor(DBP)and PKA mRNA levels in the kids,but increased(P<0.05)the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1 alpha(PGC1 A)and tuberous sclerosis 2(TSC2)mRNA levels in the fetuses.The mRNA expression of clock circadian regulator(CLOCK)and TSC2 genes was increased(P<0.05)in the restricted kids.The protein expression of total PKA and phosphorylated PKA in the restricted fetuses and kids were downregulated(P<0.05),and the protein expression of total mTOR and phosphorylated mTOR were reduced(P<0.05)in the restricted fetuses and kids.Maternal intake restriction regulated fat oxidation,protein synthesis,and circadian clock expression in the muscles of the offspring probably via the glucagon-mediated PKA-CREB pathway,which reveals a noteworthy molecular pathway that maternal undernutrition leads to metabolic adaptation of skeletal muscle in offspring. | Xiaoling Zhou Qiongxian Yan Hong Yang Ao Ren Zhixiong He Zhiliang Tan | 2021 | Animal Nutrition2021,,4: | 2 |
| 7 | A mathematical model to describe the diurnal pattern of enteric methane emissions from non-lactating dairy cows post-feeding显示文摘Enteric methane emission is not only a source of energy loss in ruminants, but also a potent contributor to greenhouse gas production. To identify the nature and timing of interventions to reduce methane emissions requires knowledge of temporal kinetics of methane emissions during animal husbandry.Accordingly, a mathematical model was developed to investigate the pattern of enteric methane emissions after feeding in dairy cows. The model facilitated estimation of total enteric methane emissions(V,g) produced by the residual substrate(V1, g) and newly ingested feed(V2, g). The model was fitted to the10 h methane emission patterns after morning feeding of 16 non-lactating dairy cows with various body weights(BW), and the obtained parameters were used to predict the kinetics of 24 h methane emission for each animal. The rate of methane emission(g/h) reached a maximum within 1 to 2 h after feeding,followed by a gradual post-prandial decline to a basal value before the next feeding. The model satisfactorily fitted curves for each cow according to the criterion of goodness-of-fit, and provided biological descriptions for fluctuations in methane emissions based on basal V1 and feeding V2 in response to the changes in BW and dry matter intake(DMI) of different dairy cows. The basal V1 and feeding V2 are probably maintained by slow-and readily-degradable substrates, respectively. The former contributed at least 0.6 of methane production. | 14 | A Micro-coupling for Micro Mechanical Systems显示文摘The error motions of micro mechanical systems, such as micro-spindles, increase with the increasing of the rotational speed, which not only decreases the rotational accuracy, but also promotes instability and limits the maximum operational speed. One effective way to deal with it is to use micro-flexible couplings between the drive and driven shafts so as to reduce error motions of the driven shaft. But the conventional couplings, such as diaphragm couplings, elastomeric couplings, bellows couplings, and grooved couplings, etc, cannot be directly used because of their large and complicated structures. This study presents a novel micro-coupling that consists of a flexible coupling and a shape memory alloy(SMA)-based clamp for micro mechanical systems. It is monolithic and can be directly machined from a shaft. The study performs design optimization and provides manufacturing considerations, including thermo-mechanical training of the SMA ring for the desired Two-Way-Shape-Memory effect(TWSMe). A prototype micro-coupling and a prototype micro-spindle using the proposed coupling are fabricated and tested. The testing results show that the prototype micro-coupling can bear a torque of above 5 N · mm and an axial force of 8.5 N and be fitted with an SMA ring for clamping action at room temperature(15 ℃) and unclamping action below –5 ℃. At the same time, the prototype micro-coupling can work at a rotational speed of above 200 kr/min with the application to a high-speed precision micro-spindle. Moreover, the radial runout error of the artifact, as a substitute for the micro-tool, is less than 3 μm while that of turbine shaft is above 7 μm. It can be concluded that the micro-coupling successfully accommodates misalignment errors of the prototype micro-spindle.
