| 1 | 不同灌溉技术条件对冬小麦生产的影响显示文摘为了研究并得到3种不同灌溉技术(滴灌、喷灌、漫灌)对冬小麦产量及其构成的影响,在中国农业大学吴桥实验站设计了滴灌、喷灌、漫灌的大田试验.3种灌溉技术条件下,其灌溉总量相同,漫灌和喷灌采用浇底墒水加浇两水,滴灌采用浇底墒水加浇四水的方式;从冬小麦整个生长期内的作物高度、叶面积指数、籽粒重等指标,考察不同灌溉技术对冬小麦生产及其构成的影响.结果表明:滴灌条件下,表层含水量下降速度最小,整个生长期,含水量高于喷灌和漫灌;滴灌处理的叶面积指数最高,其次是喷灌;在成熟期,滴灌条件下,作物高度比漫灌高12%,比喷灌高5%;滴灌和喷灌的条件下产量分别比漫灌高8.63%,7.75%;滴灌、喷灌、漫灌的籽粒千粒重分别为43.36,42.17和41.17 g,滴灌和喷灌籽粒重明显高于漫灌,且生物量分别比漫灌提高了6.9%,3%.这说明3种灌溉技术中,滴灌技术最有利于实现节水保墒、小麦增产,其次是喷灌. | 杜文勇 何雄奎 胡振方 Zia S. | 2 | Neolithic millet farmers contributed to the permanent settlement of the Tibetan Plateau by adopting barley agriculture显示文摘The permanent human settlement of the Tibetan Plateau(TP)has been suggested to have been facilitated by the introduction of barley agriculture^3.6 kilo-years ago(ka).However,how barley agriculture spread onto the TP remains unknown.Given that the lower altitudes in the northeastern TP were occupied by millet cultivators from 5.2 ka,who also adopted barley farming^4 ka,it is highly possible that it was millet farmers who brought barley agriculture onto the TP^3.6 ka.To test this hypothesis,we analyzed mitochondrial DNA(mt DNA)from 8277 Tibetans and 58514 individuals from surrounding populations,including 682 newly sequenced whole mitogenomes.Multiple lines of evidence,together with radiocarbon dating of cereal remains at different elevations,supports the scenario that two haplogroups(M9a1a1c1b1a and A11a1a),which are common in contemporary Tibetans(20.9%)and were probably even more common(40–50%)in early Tibetans prior to historical immigrations to the TP,represent the genetic legacy of the Neolithic millet farmers.Both haplogroups originated in northern China between 10.0–6.0 ka and differentiated in the ancestors of modern Tibetans^5.2–4.0 ka,matching the dispersal history of millet farming.By showing that substantial genetic components in contemporary Tibetans can trace their ancestry back to the Neolithic millet farmers,our study reveals that millet farmers adopted and brought barley agriculture to the TP^3.6–3.3 ka,and made an important contribution to the Tibetan gene pool. | Yu-Chun Li Jiao-Yang Tian Feng-Wen Liu Bin-Yu Yang Kang-Shu-Yun Gu Zia Ur Rahman Li-Qin Yang Fa-Hu Chen Guang-Hui Dong Qing-Peng Kong | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,5: | 15 |

| 5 | Mainstreaming Early Warning Systems in Development and Planning Processes: Multilevel Implementation of Sendai Framework in Indus and Sahel显示文摘The third UN World Congress on Disaster Risk Reduction, held in Sendai, Japan in March 2015, agreed on a new framework to guide disaster risk reduction policy and practice for the next 15 years. The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030(SFDRR) leaves important implementation issues unspecified and potentially creates both problems and opportunities for complex,multilevel governance systems in coping with hazards and disastrous events. Early warning systems(EWS), if built into the mainstream of planning for development and disaster relief and recovery, could present a significant opportunity to realize many SFDRR goals. We explore the complexities of using hydrometeorological EWS to prepare for drought and flood disasters in the densely populated communities of Pakistan’s Indus River Basin in contrast to the African Sahel’s less densely settled grasslands. Multilevel governance systems are often dominated by a topdown, technocentric, centralized management bias and have great difficulty responding to the needs of peripheral and vulnerable populations. | 6 | Disposal and Use of Sewage on Agricultural Lands in Pakistan: A Review显示文摘Raw sewage is widely used on agricultural soils in urban areas of developing countries to meet water shortages. Although it is a good source of plant nutrients, such sewage also increases the heavy metal load to soils, which may impact the food chain. Management options for sewage contaminated soils includes addition of nontoxic compounds such as lime, calcium sulfate and organic matter, which form insoluble metal complexes, thus reducing metal phytoavailability to plants. In this paper we review the variation in irrigation quality of sewage at different sites and its impact on the quality of soils and vegetables. Although quality of sewage was highly variable at source, yet the effluent from food industries was relatively safe for irrigation. In comparison effluent samples collected from textile, dyeing, calendaring, steel industry, hospitals and clinical laboratories, foundries and tanneries were hazardous with respect to soluble salts, sodium adsorption ratio and heavy metals like zinc, copper, iron, manganese, nickel, cobalt and cadmium. The sewage quality in main drains was better than that at the industry outlet, but was still not safe for irrigation. In general, higher accumulation of metals in fruits and vegetable roots was recorded compared to that in plant leaves. Edible parts of vegetables (fruits and/or leaves) accumulated metals more than the permissible limits despite the soils contained ammonium bicarbonate diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid extractable metals within a safe range. In either case further scientific investigations are needed to ensure safe management strategies. Cadmium appeared to be the most threatening metal especially in leafy vegetables. The key properties of embryonic stem cells are their capacity for selfrenewal and their pluripotency. Pluripotent stem cells are able to differentiate into the cells of all three germ layers, and because of this property they represent a promising therapeutic tool in the treatment of diseases such as Parkinson's disease and diabetes, or in the healing of lesions after heart attack. As the basic nuclear unit, chromatin is responsible for the regulation of the functional status of cells, including pluripotency and differentiation. Therefore, in this review we discuss the functional changes in chromatin during differentiation and the correlation between epigenetics events and the differentiation potential of embryonic stem cells. | 18 | Visible–light driven photocatalytic degradation of bisphenol-A using ultrasonically synthesized polypyrrole/K-birnessite nanohybrids:Experimental and DFT studies显示文摘Although manganese oxides are known for their semiconductor characteristics, the photocatalytic performance of conducting polymer intercalated K-Birnessite(K-Bi) has not been explored till date. With the view to design a visible light driven organic–inorganic hybrid photocatalyst for rapid degradation of Bisphenol A(BPA), the present work reports the ultrasound-assisted green synthesis of K-Bi/polypyrrole(Ppy) nanohybrids. The loading of Ppy in K-Bi was confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis while the formation of organic–inorganic hybrid was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy. K-Bi revealed a band gap of 2.8 e V while for the nanohybrids it was found to be ranging between 2.4 and 1.6 e V. X-ray diffraction studies confirmed partial intercalation of Ppy chains in the inter-layer space of K-Bi. High resolution transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy studies showed mixed morphology of K-Birnessite/Ppy nanohybrids. Rapid degradation of BPA was observed under visible irradiation in presence of K-Bi/Ppy nanohybrids and almost90% degradation of 20 mg/L BPA solution was achieved within 120 min. The degradation was found to follow pseudo-first order kinetics and the degraded fragments were identified using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
