1Sensorless Sensing with WiFi显示文摘Can WiFi signals be used for sensing purpose? The growing PHY layer capabilities of WiFi has made it possible to reuse WiFi signals for both communication and sensing. Sensing via WiFi would enable remote sensing without wearable sensors, simultaneous perception and data transmission without extra communication infrastructure, and contactless sensing in privacy-preserving mode. Due to the popularity of WiFi devices and the ubiquitous deployment of WiFi networks, WiFi-based sensing networks, if fully connected, would potentially rank as one of the world's largest wireless sensor networks. Yet the concept of wireless and sensorless sensing is not the simple combination of WiFi and radar. It seeks breakthroughs from dedicated radar systems, and aims to balance between low cost and high accuracy, to meet the rising demand for pervasive environment perception in everyday life. Despite increasing research interest, wireless sensing is still in its infancy. Through introductions on basic principles and working prototypes, we review the feasibilities and limitations of wireless, sensorless, and contactless sensing via WiFi. 2Cholesterol transport through the peroxisome-ER membrane contacts tethered by PI(4,5)P2 and extended synaptotagmins显示文摘Most mammalian cells take up cholesterol from low-density lipoproteins(LDLs) via receptor-mediated endocytosis.After reaching lysosomes,LDL-derived cholesterol continues to transport to downstream organelles including the ER for specific structural and functional needs.Peroxisomes are recently found to receive cholesterol from lysosomes through lysosomeperoxisome membrane contacts.However,whether and how cholesterol is conveyed from peroxisomes to the ER remain unknown.Here,by combining high-resolution microscopic analyses and in vitro reconstitution of highly purified organelles or artificial liposomes,we demonstrate that peroxisomes form membrane contacts with the ER through the interaction between peroxisomal PI(4,5)P2 and ER-resident extended synaptotagmin-1,2 and 3(E-Syts).Depletion of peroxisomal PI(4,5)P2 or ESyts markedly decreases peroxisome-ER membrane contacts and induces cholesterol accumulation in lysosomes.Furthermore,we show that cholesterol is delivered from 3H-labeled peroxisomes or PI(4,5)P2-containing liposomes to the ER in vitro,and that the presence of peroxisomes augments cholesterol transfer from lysosomes to the ER.Together,our study reveals a new cholesterol transport pathway along the lysosome-peroxisome-ER membrane contacts in the cell.Jian Xiao Jie Luo Ao Hu Ting Xiao Meixin Li Zekai Kong Luyi Jiang Zimu Zhou Yacheng Liao Chang Xie Beibei Chu Honghua Miao Boliang Li Xiongjie Shi Bao-Liang Song 2019Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,9:8
3Numerical optimization for blades of Intermig impeller in solid-liquid stirred tank显示文摘The multiphase flow in the solid-liquid tank stirred with a new structure of Intermig impeller was analyzed by computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The Eulerian multiphase model and standard k-ε turbulence model were adopted to simulate the fluid flow,turbulent kinetic energy distribution,mixing performance and power consumption in a stirred tank.The simulation results were also verified by the water model experiments,and good agreement was achieved.The solid-liquid mixing performances of Intermig impeller with different blade structures were compared in detail.The results show that the improved Intermig impeller not only enhances the solid mixing and suspension,but also saves more than 20% power compared with the standard one.The inner blades have relatively little influence on power and the best angle of inner blades is 45°,while the outer blades affect greatly the power consumption and the optimized value is 45°.Xiaolong Li Hongliang Zhao Zimu Zhang Yan Liu Ting’an Zhang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,1:4
4Investigation on Precooling Effects of 4 K Stirling-Type Pulse Tube Cryocoolers显示文摘Stirling-type pulse tube cryocoolers(SPTCs)working at liquid-helium temperatures are appealing in space applications because of their promising advantages such as high reliability,compactness,etc.Worldwide efforts have been put in to develop SPTCs operating at liquid-helium temperatures especially with helium-4 as the working fluid.Staged structure is essential to reach such low temperatures.Generally,both the regenerator of the last section and the pulse tube together with the phase shifter are precooled by its upper stage or by external cold source to a low temperature of around 20 K.However,the precooling effects on the regenerator and the pulse tube are synthetic in previous studies,and their independent effects have not been studied clearly.In this manuscript,the precooling effects on the regenerator and on the pulse tube together with the phase shifter are tested independently on a unique-designed precooled SPTC.The tested precooling temperature is between 13.3 K and 22 K,and the no-load refrigeration temperature gets down to 3.6 K.Further analyses and numerical calculations have been carried out.It is found that the influence on the regenerator is remarkable,which is different from previous conclusions.It is also found that the precooling effects on the pulse tube are relatively weak because of the large pressure-induced enthalpy flow of a real gas working at the temperatures near to the critical point.Furthermore,the phase shifting capacity is analyzed with two cases and with both helium-4 and helium-3 as working fluids,and it keeps quite constant after optimizing the frequency and the precooling temperature for each case.The investigation on these independent effects will provide valid reference on the precooling mechanism study of SPTCs working down to liquid-helium temperatures.CAO Qiang LI Zimu LUAN Mingkai SUN Zheng TANG Xiao LI Peng JIANG Zhenhua WEI Li 2019Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,4:4
5Comparison of treatment modalities in pancreatic pseudocyst: A population based study显示文摘BACKGROUND Current therapeutic techniques for pancreatic pseudocyst include surgical management with a laparoscopic approach or an open surgical procedure,percutaneous catheter drainage and endoscopic drainage.Yet it remains controversial whether different treatment approaches affect inpatient outcome.AIM To investigate inpatient outcome of different treatment approaches in treating pancreatic pseudocyst.METHODS Here we conducted a retrospective analysis of pancreatic pseudocyst-associated hospitalizations using the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project-Nationwide Inpatient Sample.International Classification of Diseases 10 clinical modification and procedure codes are used.RESULTS A total of 7060 patients meeting the above criteria were identified.Our study revealed laparoscopic approach associated with the lowest rate of red blood cell transfusion(P<0.001),and it had lower short-term complications including acute renal failure(P=0.01),urinary tract infection(P=0.01),sepsis(P<0.001)and acute respiratory failure(P=0.01).Laparoscopic surgical approach associated with the shortest mean length of stay(P=0.009),and it had the lowest total charge(P=0.03).All three modalities have similar inpatient mortality(P=0.28).The study also revealed that percutaneous drainage associated with more emergent admission(P<0.001),rural hospital performs the most open surgical drainage(P<0.001)and patients who received laparoscopic drainage are more likely to be discharged home(P<0.001).CONCLUSION Laparoscopic drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts associated with the least shortterm complications and had better outcomes comparing to percutaneous and open surgical drainage from 2016 National Inpatient Sample database.Yanting Wang Yazan Abu Omar Rohit Agrawal Zimu Gong 2019World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery2019,11,9:4
6Biodegradable Zn–3Cu and Zn–3Cu–0.2Ti alloys with ultrahigh ductility and antibacterial ability for orthopedic applications显示文摘Zinc(Zn) and its alloys have been proposed as biodegradable implant materials due to their unique combination of biodegradability, biocompatibility, and biofunctionality. However, the insufficient mechanical properties of pure Zn greatly limit its clinical application. Here, we report on the microstructure, mechanical properties, friction and wear behavior, corrosion and degradation properties, hemocompatibility, and cytocompatibility of Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti alloys under three different conditions of as-cast(AC),hot-rolling(HR), and hot-rolling plus cold-rolling(HR + CR). The HR + CR Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti exhibited the best set of comprehensive properties among all the alloy samples, with yield strength of 211.0 MPa, ultimate strength of 271.1 MPa, and elongation of 72.1 %. Immersion tests of the Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti alloys in Hanks’ solution for 3 months indicated that the AC samples showed the lowest degradation rate,followed by the HR samples, and then the HR + CR samples, while the HR + CR Zn–3 Cu exhibited the highest degradation rate of 23.9 m/a. Friction and wear testing of the Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti alloys in Hanks’ solution indicated that the AC samples showed the highest wear resistance, followed by the HR samples, and then the HR + CR samples, while the AC Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti showed the highest wear resistance.The diluted extracts of HR + CR Zn–3 Cu and Zn–3 Cu–0.2 Ti at a concentration of ≤25 % exhibited noncytotoxicity. 7Sandwiching Sulfur into the Dents Between N,O Co-Doped Graphene Layered Blocks with Strong Physicochemical Confinements for Stable and High-Rate Li-S Batteries显示文摘The development of lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)is restricted by their poor cycle stability and rate performance due to the low conductivity of sulfur and severe shuttle effect.Herein,an N,O co-doped graphene layered block(NOGB)with many dents on the graphene sheets is designed as effective sulfur host for high-performance LSB s.The sulfur platelets are physically confined into the dents and closely contacted with the graphene scaffold,ensuring structural stability and high conductivity.The highly doped N and O atoms can prevent the shuttle effect of sulfur species by strong chemical adsorption.Moreover,the micropores on the graphene sheets enable fast Li^+transport through the blocks.As a result,the obtained NOGB/S composite with 76 wt%sulfur content shows a high capacity of 1413 mAh g^-1 at 0.1 C,good rate performance of 433 mAh g^-1 at 10 C,and remarkable stability with 526 mAh g^-1 at after 1000 cycles at 1 C(average decay rate:0.038%per cycle).Our design provides a comprehensive route for simultaneously improving the conductivity,ion transport kinetics,and preventing the shuttle effect in LSBs.Mengjiao Shi Su Zhang Yuting Jiang Zimu Jiang Longhai Zhang Jin Chang Tong Wei Zhuangjun Fan 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11:3
8Targeting the ubiquitination/deubiquitination process to regulate immune checkpoint pathways显示文摘The immune system initiates robust immune responses to defend against invading pathogens or tumor cells and protect the body from damage,thus acting as a fortress of the body.However,excessive responses cause detrimental effects,such as inflammation and autoimmune diseases.To balance the immune responses and maintain immune homeostasis,there are immune checkpoints to terminate overwhelmed immune responses.Pathogens and tumor cells can also exploit immune checkpoint pathways to suppress immune responses,thus escaping immune surveillance.As a consequence,therapeutic antibodies that target immune checkpoints have made great breakthroughs,in particular for cancer treatment.While the overall efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)is unsatisfactory since only a small group of patients benefted from ICB treatment.Hence,there is a strong need to search for other targets that improve the efficacy of ICB.Ubiquitination is a highly conserved process which participates in numerous biological activities,including innate and adaptive immunity.A growing body of evidence emphasizes the importance of ubiquitination and its reverse process,deubiquitination,on the regulation of immune responses,providing the rational of simultaneous targeting of immune checkpoints and ubiquitination/deubiquitination pathways to enhance the therapeutic efficacy.Our review will summarize the latest findings of ubiquitination/deubiquitination pathways for anti-tumor immunity,and discuss therapeutic significance of targeting ubiquitination/deubiquitination pathways in the future of immunotherapy.Jiaxin Liu Yicheng Cheng Ming Zheng Bingxiao Yuan Zimu Wang Xinying Li Jie Yin Mingxiang Ye Yong Song 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,2:3
9Numerical Simulation of Enhanced Oil-Water Separation in a Three-Stage Double-Stirring Extraction Tank显示文摘Numerical simulation of enhanced fluid flow characteristics in a three-stage double-stirring extraction tank was conducted with the coupling of an Eulerian multiphase flow model and a Morsi-Alexander interphase drag force model. Results show that the addition of a stirring device into the settler can efficiently reduce the volume fraction of out-of-phase impurity in the outlet, and accelerate the settling separation of oil-water mixture. Such addition can also effectively break down the oil-water-wrapped liquid droplets coming from the mixer, inhibit reflux from the outlet, and improve the oil-water separation. 10Silicon saturation coefficient changes in hydrogarnets during the Bayer process with lime addition显示文摘The relationship between the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets and Bayer reaction parameters was studied. The peak position, crystal plane spacing, and cell edge length of typical hydrogarnet patterns were calculated to find the key factors influencing the relationship. The results showed that the crystal face(420) is the optimal garnet growth direction during hydration and crystal growth along the faces(521) and(611) were not affected significantly by the varying experimental conditions. The reaction temperature significantly influenced the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets increased from 0.2 to about 1.0 in the temperature range of 30–270 °C and a rapid expansion process was observed in the temperature range of 120–150 °C. Moreover, the reaction time, alumina concentration, and C/S were shown to be less important factors. Averaging the results obtained by the 3 methods was shown suitable for calculating the SiO2 saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The calculated results of the Al2O3 and SiO2 contents matched the actual ones. 12A Relative Error Estimation Approach for Multiplicative Single Index Model显示文摘As an alternative to absolute error methods, such as the least square and least absolute deviation estimations, a product relative error estimation is proposed for a multiplicative single index regression model. Regression coefficients in the model are estimated via a two-stage procedure and their statistical properties such as consistency and normality are studied. 13Three Novel Endophytic Fungi as Potential Candidates Producing Bioactive Metabolites Isolated from Metasequoia glyptostroboides显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to isolate and investigate the endophytic fungi with antimicrobial activity from the healthy leaves and bark of Metasequoia glyptostroboides Hu&W.C.Cheng regarded as an important medicinal plant in China.[Methods]Endophytic fungi with visible antimicrobial activity were isolated from the healthy leaves and bark of M.glyptostroboides,and primarily screened using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus as test microorganisms.[Results]Three isolates with relatively higher antimicrobial activity,labeled as MG-01,MG-02,MG-09,were selected for study.Molecular and morphological analysis indicated that the three isolated endophytes belong to Penicillium sp.The ethyl acetate(EtOAc)extracts of the three endophytes were obtained and subjected to the disk diffusion assay,using E.coil,S.aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Enterococcus faecalis,Monilia albicanas,and Bacillus subtilis as test microorganisms.The minimum inhibitory activity(MIC)of the endophyte with relatively highest antimicrobial activity was determined using two-fold broth micro-dilution method.All the endophytes showed a broad spectrum antimicrobial activity.Among the three endophytes,the strain MG-09 exhibited relatively highest antimicrobial activity with the zones of inhibition(ZOI)ranging from 14.15 to 24.07 mm and MIC ranging from 416.67 to 65.11μg/ml.[Conclusions]The endophytic fungi colonized in M.glyptostroboides are capable of producing effective antimicrobial compounds which may be a potential source for drug discovery and biocide production.Yucheng QIAN Zimu QIAO Jingyu PAN Haoning YANG Xin LIU Xiaoxia LIU Hongxin ZHAO 2020Agricultural Biotechnology2020,9,6:1
14B2SMatcher:fine-Grained version identification of open-Source software in binary files显示文摘Codes of Open Source Software(OSS)are widely reused during software development nowadays.However,reusing some specific versions of OSS introduces 1-day vulnerabilities of which details are publicly available,which may be exploited and lead to serious security issues.Existing state-of-the-art OSS reuse detection work can not identify the specific versions of reused OSS well.The features they selected are not distinguishable enough for version detection and the matching scores are only based on similarity.This paper presents B2SMatcher,a fine-grained version identification tool for OSS in commercial off-the-shelf(COTS)software.We first discuss five kinds of version-sensitive code features that are trackable in both binary and source code.We categorize these features into program-level features and function-level features and propose a two-stage version identification approach based on the two levels of code features.B2SMatcher also identifies different types of OSS version reuse based on matching scores and matched feature instances.In order to extract source code features as accurately as possible,B2SMatcher innovatively uses machine learning methods to obtain the source files involved in the compilation and uses function abstraction and normalization methods to eliminate the comparison costs on redundant functions across versions.We have evaluated B2SMatcher using 6351 candidate OSS versions and 585 binaries.The result shows that B2SMatcher achieves a high precision up to 89.2%and outperforms state-of-the-art tools.Finally,we show how B2SMatcher can be used to evaluate real-world software and find some security risks in practice.Gu Ban Lili Xu Yang Xiao Xinhua Li Zimu Yuan Wei Huo 2021Cybersecurity2021,4,1:1

17In situ polypyrrole polymerization enhances the photocatalytic activity of nanofibrous TiO2/SiO2 membranes显示文摘In this study, nanofibrous polypyrrole-coated TiO_2/SiO_2(PPy@TS) membranes were fabricated by a combination of sol-gel process, electrospinning, calcination, and in situ polymerization. Samples from the electrospinning, calcination, and in situ polymerization steps were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry. The in situ polymerization of PPy is aimed to enhance the overall photocatalytic capability of TiO_2 in the TiO_2/SiO_2 composite fibers.
