| 1 | Residual effects of tobacco biochar along with different fixing agents on stabilization of trace elements in multi-metal contaminated soils显示文摘The residual effect of tobacco biochar(TB≥500°C)mono and co-application with Cahydroxide(CH),Ca-bentonite(CB)and natural zeolite(NZ)on the bio-availability of trace elements TE(s)in alkaline soils has not been deeply studied yet.A pot study that had earlier been investigated TB mono and blended with CH,CB and NZ on the immobilization of Pb,Cu Cd,and Zn by Chinese cabbage.Maize crop in the rotation was selected as test plant to assess the residual impact of amendments on stabilization of Pb,Cu Cd,and Zn in mine polluted(M-P),smelter heavily and low polluted(S-HP and S-LP,respectively)soils.The obtained results showed that stabilization of Pb,Cd,Cu and Zn reached 63.84% with TB+CB,61.19% with TB+CH,83.31% with TB+CH and 35.27% with TB+CH for M-P soil,36.46% with TB+NZ,38.46% with TB+NZ,19.40% with TB+CH and 62.43% with TB+CH for S-LP soil,52.94%TB+NZ,57.65% with TB+NZ,52.94% with TB+NZ,and 28.44% with TB+CH for S-LP soil.Conversely,TB+CH and TB alone had mobilized Pb and Zn up to19.29% and 34.96% in M-P soil.The mobility of Zn reached 8.38% with TB+CB and 66.03% with TB for S-HP and S-LP soils.The uptake and accumulation of Pb,Cd,Cu and Zn in shoot and root were reduced in three polluted soils.Overall,the combination of TB along with CH,CB and NZ has been proven to be effective in Pb,Cd,Cu and Zn polluted mine/smelter soils restoration. | Altaf Hussain Lahori Monika Mierzwa-Hersztek Muhammad Rashid Shahmir Ali Kalhoro Mehrunisa Memon Zobia Naheed Muneer Ahmed Zengqiang Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 3 |
| 2 | Antibiotic susceptibility profiling and virulence potential of Campylobacter jejuni isolates from different sources in Pakistan显示文摘Objective:To determine antibiotic resistance patterns and virulence potential of Campylobacter jejuni(C.jejuni) isolates from clinical human diarrheal infections,cattle and healthy broilers.Methods:Antibiotic sensitivity patterns of C.jejuni isolates were determined by Kirby Bauer Disc Diffusion assay.These isolates were then subjected to virulence profiling for the detection of map A(membrane-associated protein).cadF(fibronectin binding protein).wlaN(beta-1.3-galaclosyltransferase) and neu AB(sialic acid biosynthesis gene).Further C.jejuni isolates were grouped by random amplification of polymorphic DNA(RAPD) profiling.Results:A total of436 samples from poultry(n=88).cattle(n=216) and humans(n=132) from different locations were collected.Results revealed percentage of C.jejuni isolates were 35.2%(31/88).25.0%(54/216) and 11.3%(15/132) among poultry,cattle and clinical human samples respectively.Antibiotic susceptibility results showed that similar resistance patterns to cephalothin was ie.87.0%,87.1%and 89%among humans,poultry and cattle respectively,followed by sulfamethoxazolc+trimcthoprim 40.0%,38.7%and 31.0%in humans,poultry and cattle and Ampicillin 40%,32%and 20%in humans,poultry and cattle respectively.Beta-lactamase activity was detected in 40.00%humans.20.37%cattle and 32.25%in poultry C.jejuni isolates.CadF and mapA were present in all poultry,cattle and human C jejuni isolates.wlauN was not detected in any isolate and neu AB was found in 9/31(36%) poultry isolates.RAPD profiling results suggested high diversity of C.jejuni isolates.Conclusions:Detection of multidrug resistant C.jejuni strains from poultry and cattle is alarming as they can be potential hazard to humans.Moreover,predominant association of virulence factors,cadF and map A(100%each) in C.jejuni isolates from all sources and neuAB(36%) with poultry isolates suggest the potential source of transmission of diverse types of C.jejuni to humans. | Fariha Masood Siddiqui Muhammad Akram Nighat Nourccn Zobia Noreen Habib Bokhari | 2015 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015,8,3: | 2 |
| 3 | Water extractable plant nutrients in soils amended with cow manure co-composted with maple tree residues显示文摘Studies on the availability of plant nutrients in soils treated with manure co-composted feed-stocks are very rare.The present investigation aimed at studying the nutrient release pattern from three soils amended with maple tree leaves co-composted with cow manure.Soils were mixed with the compost at the rate of 20 t/hm^(2) and incubated at room temperature.Prior to incubation,plants residue samples were analyzed for total elemental concentrations(NO_(3),NH_(4),P,K,Ca,Mg,Na,Zn,Mn,Fe,Cu,Ni and Cd).Water extractability of nutrients from soils was affected by the type of soil and ratio of composted manure applied.Extractable NH_(4),P,K,Ca and Mg concentrations varied in the descending order of sandy clay,sandy loam and silt loam except NO_(3).The concentrations of P,K,Ca and Mg in the amended soils increased with the ratio of manure co-composted with leaf litter while those of NO_(3),NH_(4) and trace elements decreased.The residual nutrients in soil varied directly with their contents in the compost amendments.Co-composting improved the availability of nutrients in soils and this should be an ideal approach to managing the enormous waste generated from the livestock sector for restoring soil fertility. | Zobia Anwar Muhammad Irshad An Ping Farhan Hafeez Shao Yang | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,5: | 1 |

| 5 | A Hybrid System for Customer Churn Prediction and Retention Analysis via Supervised Learning显示文摘Telecom industry relies on churn prediction models to retain their customers.These prediction models help in precise and right time recognition of future switching by a group of customers to other service providers.Retention not only contributes to the profit of an organization,but it is also important for upholding a position in the competitive market.In the past,numerous churn prediction models have been proposed,but the current models have a number of flaws that prevent them from being used in real-world largescale telecom datasets.These schemes,fail to incorporate frequently changing requirements.Data sparsity,noisy data,and the imbalanced nature of the dataset are the other main challenges for an accurate prediction.In this paper,we propose a hybrid model,name as“A Hybrid System for Customer Churn Prediction and Retention Analysis via Supervised Learning(HCPRs)”that used Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique(SMOTE)and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)to address the issue of imbalance class data and feature selection.Data cleaning and normalization has been done on big Orange dataset contains 15000 features along with 50000 entities.Substantial experiments are performed to test and validate the model on Random Forest(RF),Linear Regression(LR),Naïve Bayes(NB)and XG-Boost.Results show that the proposed model when used with XGBoost classifier,has greater Accuracy Under Curve(AUC)of 98%as compared with other methods. | Soban Arshad Khalid Iqbal Sheneela Naz Sadaf Yasmin Zobia Rehman | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,9: | 0 |
