Calreticulin and cancer显示文摘Calreticulin(CALR)is an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-resident protein involved in a spectrum of cellular processes. In healthy cells,CALR operates as a chaperone and Ca^(2+)buffer to assist correct protein folding within the ER.Besides favoring the maintenance of cellular proteostasis, these cell-iintrinsic CALR functions support Ca^(2+)-dependent processes, such as adhesion and integrin signaling, and ensure normal antigen presentation on MHC Class I molecules. Moreover, cancer cells succumbing to immunogenic cell death(ICD)expose CALR on their surface, which promotes the uptake of cell corpses by professional phagocytes and ultimately supports the initiation of anticancer immunity.Thus,loss-of-function CALR mutations promote oncogenesis not only as they impair cellular homeostasis in healthy cells, but also as they compromise natural and therapy-driven immunosurveillanee. However, the prognostic impact of total or membrane-exposed CALR levels appears to vary considerably with cancer type. For instance, while genetic CALR defects promote pre-neoplastic myeloproliferation, patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms bearing CALR mutations often experience improved overall survival as compared to patients bearing wild-type CALR.Here,we discuss the context-dependent impact of CALR on malignant transformation, tumor progression and response to cancer therapy. | Jitka Fucikova Radek Spisek Guido Kroemerc Lorenzo Galluzzi | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,1: | 12
Signaling pathways and targeted therapy for myocardial infarction显示文摘Although the treatment of myocardial infarction(MI)has improved considerably,it is still a worldwide disease with high morbidity and high mortality.Whilst there is still a long way to go for discovering ideal treatments, therapeutic strategies committed to cardioprotection and cardiac repair following cardiac ischemia are emerging.Evidence of pathological characteristics in MI illustrates cell signaling pathways that participate in the survival, proliferation, apoptosis, autophagy of cardiomyocytes, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, monocytes, and stem cells. These signaling pathways include the key players in inflammation response,e.g.,NLRP3/caspase-1 and TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB;the crucial mediators in oxidative stress and apoptosis, for instance,Notch,Hippo/YAP,RhoA/ROCK,Nrf2/HO-1,and Sonic hedgehog;the controller of myocardial fibrosis such as TGF-β/SMADs and Wnt/β-catenin;and the main regulator of angiogenesis,PI3K/Akt,MAPK,JAK/STAT,Sonic hedgehog, etc.Since signaling pathways play an important role in administering the process of MI,aiming at targeting these aberrant signaling pathways and improving the pathological manifestations in MI is indispensable and promising.Hence, drug therapy, gene therapy, protein therapy, cell therapy, and exosome therapy have been emerging and are known as novel therapies. In this review,we summarize the therapeutic strategies for MI by regulating these associated pathways, which contribute to inhibiting cardiomyocytes death, attenuating inflammation, enhancing angiogenesis, etc.so as to repair and re-functionalize damaged hearts. | Qing Zhang Lu Wang Shiqi Wang Hongxin Cheng Lin Xu Gaiqin Pei Yang Wang Chenying Fu Yangfu Jiang Chengqi He Quan Wei | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4: | 11

Template Synthesis of Metal Nanoparticles within Organic Cages显示文摘Background Metal nanoparticles(M-NPs)have attracted tremendous interest in recent years due to their unique physical and chemical properties resulting from their size reduction and shape variation.[1]In particular, the use of ultra-small M-NPs as efficient catalysts in various reactions is a rapidly growing area of research as a consequence of their synthetic accessibility and superior catalytic efficiency.[2]However,due to their high surface energy, small M-NPs are prone to aggregation during reactions and associated loss of their catalytic activities. To deal with this difficulty, various stabilizers and/or supports have been developed, for instance, small organic ligands, dendritic architectures, and polymers.Unfortunately, these materials all have limitations, such as low stability, constant leaching, irregular distribution or regrowth and combinations of these. Therefore,it is highly desirable to develop superior support materials that can overcome these issues. | Sha Bai Yao-Yu Wang Ying-Feng Han | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2019,37,12: | 3
Sandman is a Sleep Switch in Drosophila显示文摘Sleep is a universal process with vital functions.Animals deprived of sleep for a long period of time will die.Despite its crucial functions, fundamental questions about sleep remain unexplored. For instance, why do animals sleep since it disconnects animals from the external world and exposes them to danger(we really do not know!)?What is the switch between sleep and waking,if there is one(we may be beginning to understand this!)? | Yufeng Pan | 2016 | Neuroscience Bulletin2016,32,5: | 3
Engineered exosomes from different sources for cancertargeted therapy显示文摘Exosome is a subgroup of extracellular vesicles, which has been serving as an efficient therapeutic tool for various diseases.Engineered exosomes are the sort of exosomes modified with surface decoration and internal therapeutic molecules. After appropriate modification, engineered exosomes are able to deliver antitumor drugs to tumor sites efficiently and precisely with fewer treatment-related adverse effects. However, there still exist many challenges for the clinical translation of engineered exosomes. For instance, what sources and modification strategies could endow exosomes with the most efficient antitumor activity is still poorly understood.Additionally, how to choose appropriately engineered exosomes in different antitumor therapies is another unresolved problem. In this review,we summarized the characteristics of engineered exosomes, especially the spatial and temporal properties.Additionally,we concluded the recent advances in engineered exosomes in the cancer fields, including the sources, isolation technologies, modification strategies, and labeling and imaging methods of engineered exosomes.Furthermore, the applications of engineered exosomes in different antitumor therapies were summarized, such as photodynamic therapy, gene therapy, and immunotherapy.Consequently, the above provides the cancer researchers in this community with the latest ideas on engineered exosome modification and new direction of new drug development, which is prospective to accelerate the clinical translation of engineered exosomes for cancer-targeted therapy. | Menghui Zhang Shengyun Hu Lin Liu Pengyuan Dang Yang Liu Zhenqiang Sun Bingbing Qiao Chengzeng Wang | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4: | 2
Light-induced protein translocation by genetically encoded unnatural amino acid in Caenorhabditis elegans显示文摘Dear Editor,Living systems such as Caenorhabditis elegans are organized by interaction networks of biopolymer and small mol-ecules.The molecular engineering of specifi c targets to monitor and control these biological molecules has led to significant advances in our understand-ing of how biological systems are organ-ized,maintain themselves and disin-tegrate(Prescher and Bertozzi,2005).For instance, green fl uorescent protein(GFP)derived from jellyfi sh Aequorea Victoria helps us to accurately locate and observe proteins over long term periods. In addition, many novel LOV(light,oxy-gen,or voltage)domains such as LOV2-Jαand Vivid offer the possibility of cell-based motility management and tissue-based gene expression control(Wu et al.,2009;Wang et al.,2012). | Hao Chang Mei Han Wenming Huang Guifeng Wei Juanjuan Chen Peng R.Chen Runsheng Chen Junlong Zhang Tao Xu Pingyong Xu | 2013 | Protein & Cell2013,4,12: | 2

Autoantibodies in psoriatic arthritis:are they of pathogenic relevance?显示文摘A physician in clinical practice does not usually order autoantibody testing to aid subsequent diagnosis or for monitoring disease activity in patients with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis(PsA),although a variety of autoantibodies are present in these patients. Our understanding of autoantibodies in psoriasis and PsA is limited.Early investigations of autoantibodies in psoriasis were focused on the known autoantibodies in rheumatic diseases. For instance,anti-nuclear antibodies(ANAs)are often found in patients with psoriasis or PsA,but anti-double-stranded DNA or anti-extractable nuclear antigens are rarely identified. Therefore,ANAs have not been considered valuable in diagnosing PsA or predicting prognosis to manage PsA.Moreover, the roles of ANAs in the pathogenesis of PsA remain unknown.[1,2]Autoantibodies associated with rheumatoid arthritis(RA)have been investigated in PsA for their presence and association with the disease. For instance, antibodies against citrullinated proteins(ACPAs),which are highly specific to RA,are found in 5.0%to 17.5%of PsA patients. In several studies,a more erosive disease has been observed in PsA patients with ACPAs than in ACPA-negative PsA patients.[3,4]These findings imply that ACPAs in patients with PsA may be capable of inducing bone loss, which has been observed in RA patients with antibodies against citrullinated vimentin. | Jing Zhu Xiao-Fei Shi Cong-Qiu Chu | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,24: | 1
Rediscovering Forgotten Members of the Graphene Family显示文摘Carbon materials with controlled nanostructure or,better, covalent two-dimensional systems are currently a scientific megatrend, but not new as such. Many applications ranging from conductance, sensing, selective sorption, over(electro)catalysis to stretchable electronics, energy conversion, and storage were recently presented and will constitute the core of future technology. It is also commonplace that all these applications can still be improved by the development of new carbon or carbon derived materials to be implemented at the industrial scale. The relatively recent exploration of graphene,as for instance explored also in the European Graphene Flagship, marked a turn-around in the societal perception of all of those technologies. However, delaminated graphene is not new as such, with the employed techniques by Hummers1 or H.P.Boehm^2 as early as 1958 and 1962. | Nieves Lopez-Salas Janina Kossmann Markus Antonietti | 2020 | Accounts of Materials Research2020,1,2: | 1
THE GREAT WUQIA EARTHQUAKE(M_s=7.4;1985)AND SUNSPOT CYCLE显示文摘On August 23, 1985, a great earthquake (Ms=7.4) occurred at southern Wuqia County, Western Xinjiang. It brought devastation to people in this area. Earthquakes occurring in this region present apparently regular pattern in time-space distribution and may be correlated with the variation of sunspot cycles. Hence, the Wuqia earthquake of 1985 may serve as one of the best examples, which, based on multidisciplinary study, might be successfully forecast in middle-term sense. | 徐道一 高建国 | 1988 | Chinese Science Bulletin1988,33,4: | 1
A STEADY MODEL ON UPWELING IN A STRAIT显示文摘Hsueh and O Brien (1971) proposed a model on coastal upwelling induced by alongshore current. Their model is two - dimensional .steady , f - plane , linear and homogeneous with constant depth , in which wind effect was not considered . In the present paper, we proposed a steady model on upwelling in a strait with alongshore boundary current and wind applied on the surface. The following conclusions have been drawn.1 . Alongshore boundary current contributes more to upwelling than wind near the right coast.2. Alongshore boundary current influence can reach to about 70 km away from the right coast.3. Upwelling in the left half of the strait is mainly produced by wind .4. Under certain conditions, the combined action of wind and alongshore boundary current can produce upwelling in the middle of the strait. | 李永祥 胡敦欣 | 1989 | Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology1989,7,1: | 1

Geographic information science in the era of geospatial big data: A cyberspace perspective显示文摘The advent of information and communication technology and the Internet of Things have led our society toward a digital era.The proliferation of personal computers, smartphones, intelligent autonomous sensors, and pervasive network interactions with individuals have gradually shifted human activities from offline to online and from in person to virtual. This transformation has brought a series of challenges in a variety of fields, such as the dilemma of placelessness, some aspects of timelessness(no time relevance),and the changing relevance of distance in the field of geographic information science(GIScience). In the last two decades,“cyber thinking”in GIScience has received significant attention from different perspectives. For instance, human activities in“cyberspace”need to be reconsidered when coupled with the geographic space to observe the first law of geography. | Xintao Liu Min Chen Christophe Claramunt Michael Batty Mei-Po Kwan Ahmad MSenousi Tao Cheng Josef Strobl Arzu Cöltekin John Wilson Temenoujka Bandrova Milan Konecny Paul MTorrens Fengyuan Zhang Li He Jinfeng Wang Carlo Ratti Olaf Kolditz Alexander Klippel Songnian Li Hui Lin Guonian Lu | 2022 | The Innovation2022,3,5: | 1
Impact of Absolute Humidity and Temperature on Eczema显示文摘Eczema is a common dermatological disease with a prevalence of 15%–30%among children and up to 10%among adults, causing great disease burden worldwide[1].Meteorological factors play important roles in the development of eczema. For instance,a U.S.cohort study in children indicated that the odds of poorly controlled eczema increased by 15%for every 5°F increase in temperature and that the odds of poorly controlled eczema increased by 10%for every 10%increase in relative humidity(RH)[2]. | MA Yue Ling LI Sheng LIU Jiang Tao HE Xiao Tao LI Lan Yu NIU Jing Ping LUO Bin ZHANG Kai | 2021 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,1: | 1
Data augmentation in microscopic images for material data mining显示文摘Recent progress in material data mining has been driven by high-capacity models trained on large datasets. However, collecting experimental data(real data)has been extremely costly owing to the amount of human effort and expertise required. Here,we develop a novel transfer learning strategy to address problems of small or insufficient data. This strategy realizes the fusion of real and simulated data and the augmentation of training data in a data mining procedure. For a specific task of grain instance image segmentation, this strategy aims to generate synthetic data by fusing the images obtained from simulating the physical mechanism of grain formation and the“image style”information in real images. The results show that the model trained with the acquired synthetic data and only 35%of the real data can already achieve competitive segmentation performance of a model trained on all of the real data.Because the time required to perform grain simulation and to generate synthetic data are almost negligible as compared to the effort for obtaining real data, our proposed strategy is able to exploit the strong prediction power of deep learning without significantly increasing the experimental burden of training data preparation. | Boyuan Ma Xiaoyan Wei Chuni Liu Xiaojuan Ban Haiyou Huang Hao Wang Weihua Xue Stephen Wu Mingfei Gao Qing Shen Michele Mukeshimana Adnan Omer Abuassba Haokai Shen Yanjing Su | 2020 | npj Computational Materials2020,,1: | 1
